compatibility with the computer monitor mac laptop

I use a Mac Pro laptop with an external monitor to the HP 2511 x. It seems to be an incompatibility with these devices. When Mac wakes up from sleep mode, the HP monitor will respond only to turn on maybe 20% of the time to recognize the computer. 80% of the time that he can't find the computer and going to sleep. The only solution I have at the moment is to unplug the power cord at the back of the monitor and reinsert of maybe reset the monitor, at which time it will recognize the computer and everything works fine until next time. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello @rotarypilot,

I understand that you are having trouble with your CV 2511 x external monitor is always recognized by your MAC laptop. I'm you provide a document from HP support: updated a monitor driver, who says.

"The HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, recent Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display most of the HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac, while the Mac is turned off and then turn on Mac. The monitor must operate at 60 Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment. »

Basically, any support you will get with a HP monitor on a MAC computer should come from Mac.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

    Windows Vista Home Basic preinstalled on my Compaq laptop will not accept code provided with the computer installation. HP can't help. Your say talking to HP and HP technicians say they are unable to help him. I'm now using valid XP. HP say that conflict with Vista. Can anyone help?

    original title: VISTA VS. XP

    Your technicians say talk to HP

    Sorry, this is not Microsoft.  This is a public forum from user to user hosted by Microsoft on its servers for the comfort of its clients, and we all here are volunteers.

    You say you use XP.  What is your question?  What do you mean 'conflicts with Vista?

    I suggest recovery discs you order from HP for your computer.  If HP is no longer the issue of stocks you can order such a third of Recovery - Disks.com.  There are several of these companies.  If you are going to use XP, you need to install XP from scratch and this means that you need XP drivers for your brand and model.  If HP has no XP drivers on your computer you must not try to use XP on it.

    Remember that Vista Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium and Ultimate out of Microsoft support on 10 April and there will be more updates, including critical security patches after that date.  Only Vista business and company will continue to receive updates.  You might consider this a good time to upgrade to Windows 7.  You must download and run the Windows Update Advisor once you restored Vista successfully.

  • Hai, my ipod shuffle when it is connected with the computer, it flashes organge light.  If I don't take no light

    Hai, my ipod shuffle when it is connected with the computer, it flashes orange light.  If I remove without light and music.  Even I kept connected all day with my laptop for charging.  But without success.  Is it possible to change the battery?

    If the shuffle still appears in iTunes when you connect, you can try to do a restore using iTunes, where the cause is a software problem.

    Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod settings - Apple Support

    If the problem reoccurs after the restoration, it's probably a battery worn.  Need soldering skills to replace yourself, and iPod shuffle (with the exception of the 1st generation) is very small.  Not easy to work on.  This web site has repair guides

    https://www.iFixit.com/device/iPod_Shuffle

    and parts are available from sources like eBay.

    Apple 'serve' the shuffle, if it's the 4th gen (current type).  Rather than change the battery of your device, you get a replacement unit.  According to this document, out-of-warranty fees are $39

    Pricing of the Service - The Apple iPod Support

    NOTE: If your shuffle is less than one year of the date of purchase, it is under warranty.

    The retail price of a brand new 4th gen iPod shuffle, with new headphones, docking cable and warranty of one year is $ 49.

  • iMac 27 "with the second monitor boots black with cursor

    I can't seem to find another discussion altogether as my problem starting special 'black screen ':

    New iMac 27 "retina 5K (end of 2015) running OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 with second monitor Samsung connected by Mini DP - DVI.  When starting, the two screens are displayed in black, but the cursor is available and can be moved.

    I have to make a hard stop and disconnect the second monitor to start at the login screen. Then I can reconnect the monitor and everything works.

    Any suggestions for a fix?

    So, I spent some time with Apple customer support. Several of the standard troubleshooting for problems of mystery, they came to the conclusion that there was an incompatibility of driver with the Samsung monitor at startup which is mucking things up, and I just have to accept starting with the second disconnected monitor then plug it in again after a successful login.

    Samsung does not write the monitor for Mac drivers (for some reason any), that's why the customer support figures that there is a hangup at startup. But why OS X recognize the monitor and run fine otherwise? Why only hang at boot time? And why my Mac Book Pro 2007 running the same version of El Capitan boot fine with the connected monitor? It has something to do with the Thunderbolt/mini-DP-to-DVI connection? I don't know, and I guess that Apple's Support is not either.

    I fell on a hack, which is as follows:

    1. start with the second monitor connected

    2. in the "black screen with cursor" hold the power button quite long to put the computer to sleep

    3 wake up the computer with the keyboard or trackpad or other

    4 and now the login screen will appear.

    5 log in as usual.

    6.

    I hope this helps someone. One day I'll get a more compatible monitor and it will not be a Samsung.

    They make nice dish, however.

  • Is it possible to connect and reconnect a keyboard with the computer on?

    I have now 2 iMacs Office sitting side by side on my desk.  Since I want a keyboard with a numeric keypad on the right side, I found the only way to get that with an Apple keyboard with a USB connected keyboard.  Therefore, when I want to knit back and forth between macs, I have to unplug the keyboard of one and then plug it in another one - and back.  It would be a hassle to turn off mac whenever I need to do that, so I was wondering if it would damage a computer.  Two usb ports are usb powered external hubs.

    There is no problem with the device on a keyboard with the computer and plug in another.  It's only external drives that need to be removed before unplugging.

    Hello

    If you are lucky man you will be able to use the tool to clean Windows system restore.
    This tool allow you to roll back the State of the OS to the point of beginning.
    I think you can use it and try to roll back the OS to the point where you have removed these applications.

    Performed troubleshooting: because the error # 80071 A 90 type indicated by the system, I followed the instructions of Windows Help and Support, for example to run Microsoft Fix it which did not work; a more advanced method has also been used, who recommended to start Windows Update in Mode safe, then open Windows Update and install the updates and then restart normally. At this point, the problem was that any stage of Windows Update was available.

    Hello amib004,

    As much as I know, only Windows Update cannot be run in safe mode. That being said, I saw where install several updates may conflict with each other. Try to disable all updates installation and install the updates failed one at a time.

  • No option has worked at the start of vista & no CD provided with the computer!

    I tried all the options (boot recovery, System Restore, memory something or other, etc) and nothing won't boot up to vista. It puts me in a vicious cycle of hit ctrl alt + delete to restart again and again. I have tried absolutely every single option. I can get the bios of course but that's all. I don't see anything else. I have no Vista CD because I bought the computer from comp usa so I can't even try to start with a CD. I want to do a clean install, but I guess that's not possible with no CD :-(  I just need to crash the computer in the trash?  I am disabled so I have no money for a new CD of windows, they are simply too expensive.

    Vista Media recovery obtaining and/or using the Vista recovery on your computer Partition to factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
