complaints about adding new partition

Hi guys! I have a partitioning by date range.

1. the values less than 08/08/01
2 values less then 09/08/01

I want to add a new partition values less (07/08/01), but I can't. How to create this whith ext to the re-creation of a table?

To add a partition between the existing partitions, you must divide the large partition.

    Hello

If you are considering buying new PCs, you can go ahead and buy Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate or enterprise. These editions of Windows 7 supports Windows XP Mode, where you can use all programs Windows XP. You can also use the Windows compatibility mode to run Windows XP programs in Windows 7. • Adding new partition in the table are

    Hello

    Oracle 9i
    Windows 2003 operating system

The main entry/exit table is one of the base tables that has a large number of records and a very high success rate, and to avoid poor performance that may occur in such cases, Oracle Table partitioning technique has been examined in the early stages of the implementation of the system.

Unfortunately, the technique used to divide data based on the year of the transaction considered the year 2010 as the last specific partition, so all records created after this year is gathered in a single partition and this may cause poor performance in the years to come.

Are required to add another 10 partitions; up to the year 2020 taking into account that the downtime should be close to zero.

    Ground:

    According to my knowledge

for this, so we can create a new table with the same columns and add required 10 more partitions, and if we take 2 scenarios like

    export/imp
insertion in the new table select * from < table > old

What is the best, and if we take exp/imp, if her take a few hours of time to complete a task... what will happen for the updates as insert, update, and delete in this time what will be the impact on the import... I mean if all committed tarnscations... These tarnscations automatically add to the table are not.

Please tell me what is the best and the tarnscations should not effect... pls tell me how excatly we can complete the task.

In my script, I have a DROP TABLE because I'll put up a reproducible demonstration. I can run the script repeatedly and regenerate the same demo data!
In your environment you would not fall off the table!
To simplify the demo for you: IGNORE the DROP TABLE command. Pretend it does not exist.

  • Adding new LIST partition

    Hi all

I'm using Oracle 11 g R2 and have an existing table with 3-list of Partitions.

    CREATE TABLE parts_tbl

    PARTITION OF List (type)
    (PARTITION part_t1 VALUES (1),)
    PARTITION part_t2 VALUES (2),
    PARTITION part_t3 VALUES (3)

Is it possible to ALTER the table to add a new partition to list value of 4?

  • Adding a new partition to a partitioned table

    Hi all

I try to add a new partition to an existing table in compartmentalized but I need the new partition of 'table' to go to tablespace DATA_2011 and partition "index" to go to INDEX_2011. I tried but it wrong on what follows.

    CREATE TABLE employees
    (employee_id number 4 NOT NULL,
    last_name VARCHAR2 (10),
    department_id NUMBER (2))
    PARTITION OF RANGE (department_id)
(PARTITION employees_part1 VALUES LESS THAN (11) TABLESPACE DATA_2010,)
    PARTITION employees_part2 VALUES LESS THAN (21) TABLESPACE DATA_2010;
    PARTITION employees_part3 VALUES LESS THAN (31) TABLESPACE DATA_2010);

CREATE INDEX employees_local_idx ON employees (employee_id) LOCAL
    (PARTITION TABLESPACE INDEX_2010 employees_part1,
    PARTITION employees_part2 TABLESPACE INDEX_2010,
    PARTITION employees_part3 TABLESPACE INDEX_2010);

Here's what I'm trying to run but it fails...
    ALTER table employees add PARTITION "EMPLOYEES_PART4" VALUES LESS THAN (41) DATA_2011 index tablespace tablespace INDEX_2011;

    ERROR on line 1:
ORA-14020: this physical attribute may not be specified for the partition table

Succeeds what follows, but in this case the index partition "EMPLOYEES_PART4" is also assigned to DATA_2011 tablespace.

    ALTER table employees add PARTITION "EMPLOYEES_PART4" VALUES LESS THAN (41) tablespace DATA_2011;

Any ideas... I am currently looking in the documentation to see if it would be possible?

    Thanks for your time...

    Hello

    ALTER table employees add PARTITION "EMPLOYEES_PART4" VALUES LESS THAN (41) tablespace DATA_2011;

The foregoing is the corect order and therefore succeeded.

but in this case the index partition "EMPLOYEES_PART4" is also assigned to DATA_2011 tablespace.

You need rebuild the index of the partition with the name desired tablespace. /

    ALTER index rebuild partition tablespace

  • Boot Camp said "we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one.

I am trying to install Windows using Boot Camp 8.1, after having previously deleted my partition Windows 10 after getting into a loop Auto Repair. I get the following error after hitting the button "format" on the installation of Windows: "we could not create a new partition to locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup logs files. »

Look at the other pages, I'm noting I have seem to have more than the other disk partitions (although the disk utility says I have no partitioned disks). In the Windows Setup screen, the following things are displayed:

    Disk 0 Partition 3 primary MB 128.0 MB 0.0

    Drive system 1 Partition 1:EFI 200.0 MB 196,0 MB

    Disc 2 GB 412,1, 0.0 MB primary Partition 1

    Disc 1 3 MB 619,0 0.0 MB primary Partition

    Disc 1 4:BOOTCAMP 518,6 GB GB 518,5 Primary Partition

Why it seems that I have so many partitions? Shows only utility, I have one disk (more Boot Camp one). This is let me install Windows 8.1? I used BootCamp when my computer is new, 2 years ago and had no problem at all. And I added some partitions since (to my knowledge).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Mr President.

I use Windows XP SP3 OS with 4 Drives (C, D, E, F) hard partitioned. The size of my hard disk is 250 GB. I create forgettably drive E: Partition of greater capacity (Say 85 GB) memory space. The E: Partition holds about 35 GB of space free and remaining serve the space. I need to create the New Partition (G :) free space in the E: 35 GB Partition saying. ) The reason to ask for the help of the u. Please answer me as soon as possible.

    Hello

Make sure that you have free space in each drive for better performance. When free disk space reaches 200 megabytes (MB) or less in a car, you will be prompted to free space in the disk.

  • New Partition under Vista

How to make the New Partition of existing partition in windows vista home edition?

How to make the extended partition?

    Hi Nicole,.

    Thanks for posting answers.microsoft.com

My understanding of your message, it is that you are willing to REDUCE your current Partition to make a new partition of space it is?  I want a full clarification before provide you specific instructions of what you're trying to do, so I won't give you instructions on something different then exactly what you expect.
    If this is correct;

Here are the steps on how to go about the reduction of your current partition and then create a new partition in the space that became available after the reduction of this partition.

    1. Make a good backup of your system on an external device.

(Click on key E - made Windows right click on the drive you want to save and select Properties, in the tab tool select BACKUP now - follow the Backup Wizard to back up your files to an external device).

    1. Make a point of good your system restore if you need to send back to him at any time after this process.

Once backup/restore point in place, we can start working on the reduction of the volume, and then if you want new partition creation.

Click on start ORB / right click on computer and select manage / disk management module, you can find the disk that contains the partition in the gray box at the bottom of the window.

Right click on the partition and select Shrink Volume / he'll consider available disk space, and then submit the size of available shrink the partition by.  Then in the field, it will provide for type the amount you want to shrink the partition of the space.

In the example, the size of available free 21525 MB of space / enter the amount to shrink in MB ___mb.

Once you have entered the amount you want to reduce the volume by, select SHRINK.

It will take a while so he can shrink this partition, and when that happens, it will leave you can do a new partition on the UNALLOCATED SPACE.

To make the new partition to the UNALLOCATED SPACE, right-click on this space and select NEW SIMPLE VOLUME.  Follow the wizard to create the size of the partition, drive letter, FORMAT VOLUME until the process is complete.

Today, I decided to re - install windows 7 to make it was once again, after saving all necessary files on my edge 1 TB hard drive restartrd windows with the retail CD in the CD drive. I pressed F12 and chose to start with the CD rom, now after several minutes while the CD was put into service, I informed all language settings, keyboard and time and press Next. Then clicked install now.

About 10 minutes later, the next set of options showed, Normal install and custom install. I clicked customized. I then progressed to formate the hard drive and then click to select and then pressed...
He been said now, "Setup could not create a new partition system or locate an existing partition in the system. So I tried to fix this by removing the primary hard drive and the other disappeared two (excluding the 1 to one). So I then clicked new on this 150G hard drive and then clicked on, it now says the main hard drive. I then clicked Next. ..

Disconnect the SATA cables to all your drives except the drive hard that you plan to install Windows on and the DVD player. Also unplug all devices except for the keyboard and mouse enternal.

Then, enter the BIOS and configure the DVD drive as the first boot device.

    Now try the reinstall.

  • Resize C: and add the new partition F: and THEN run HP_recovery - will be the F: partition survive?

    Hello!

I resized C: and added another F: partition to back up my documents, pictures, etc. If I run HP_recovery, will she also shaped the new partition F:?

I don't want THAT to happen...

Babby, I don't think that the restore CD or partition will allow for the collection of partitions.  They will create a single partition only.

  • How to make a formal complaint about the low level of support?

Recently, Adobe has cancelled my account because of no payment, it's because I've lost my credit card linked to my subscription. I spent a lot of time trying to update my account payment settings online, but it does not work. I tried to contact someone via the support portal to help me update my payment method by using my new card. They sent me a link to update my card details as I did. During my next payment is due I always charged to my old card and receive an invoice by e-mail (this is not usual). Then I get another email telling me that my account was cancelled. When I check my bank account I was accused $76,13 by adobe (a strange amount). I contacted someone through the portal of support and asked why I had been charged this total and why my subscription has been cancelled. After providing all the payment information for him I had, he said that he had no record of it in his system. He said while "in this case I have to escalate the case to the next level, he will get back to you in 2-3 days by e-mail. I have not received email for more than a week. When I received an email in East of "support non-response' who said ' I have asked the team concerned to study in what respect $76,13 billed and will come back to you once we hear from the team." I answered twice and provided for my bank information confirming the money deducted from my account by adobe and have had no response in 3 days.

I think that this level of support is not entirely satisfactory and that a problem like mine should be treated with a higher level of care by the support team. It shouldn't take more than a week to send me an email telling me that they had someone looking into it. I asked my membership be reactivated with no response.

Does anyone know of a number of direct contact or email so that I can reach out to someone who may be able to solve my problem at a faster rate? and also to make a formal complaint about the abuse by management.

    Thank you very much

    Emily

Unfortunately there is no substantive complaints hotline.  If you can find a member of the staff of Adobe here in the forums and send them a private message, they would be willing to go further and push your question through resolution.

  • Add new partition

    Hello

    Oracle 11.2.0.1
    Windows

I'll have a partitioned IOT, something like this:

    create table my_table)
    col1 number (10) not null,
    col2 varchar2 (7) not null,
    COL3 varchar2 (20) not null,
    COL4 varchar2 (20) not null,
    col5 varchar2 (20) not null,
    col6 date not null,
    col7 number 4 not null,.
    COL8 varchar2 (1) not null,
    VARCHAR2 (1) col9 not null,.
    primary key (col1, col2, col3, col4, col5, col6, col7, col8, col9)
    )
    index of the Organization
    partition by range (col3, col4 col5)
    (partition p1 values less than ('%', '%', '%'),)
    P2 partition of values less than ('b %', 'B %', 'B %'),
    P3 partition values less than ('%c', '%c', '%c'),
PARTITION VALUES LESS THAN (MAXVALUE, MAXVALUE, MAXVALUE) p27)

Now, I want to add new range partition on column col7. There is an index exists on col7 too, but given that the table is carrying about 200 million lines, only fixed whose index is not good, so I thought to add the same type of partition on col7. In col7 there is value of beach between 2000 and 2010 only.

Well want to tell me how should I proceed to add the new partition on another column of ITO existing partitioned please.

    Thank you.

It seems that you must start generic character. Given that, the table partitioning, or using regular index will help. Your only option if this is the case is to use Oracle Text.

It seems strange that you really want to understand the generic nature of beginning. I know that when I'm looking for a person, usually at least the first part of the name or the name. It's pretty rare that someone looking for "Justin Cave" would be looking for 'stin' rather than 'Justin' or 'cellar '. If you actually store the name in a single column rather than having separate columns for first name, last name, etc., maybe you just need to review the model data to break the names, remove the wildcard queries early and then use an appropriate normal index.

  • How to Oracle point home/U01 to the new partition/dev/sdg1 or grid.vmdk?

    People,

Hello. I want to install Oracle 11 g RAC 2 with 2 Virtual Machines (rac1 and rac2). The virtual disk for each virtual computer is 20 GB which is/dev/sda raw device (the partition/dev/sda1 is the same size).

I want to install Oracle 11 g RAC 2 grid using facility location is: home/.../grid/runInstaller. I'm at step 4 of 8 in the wizard whose content is as follows:

    Base Oracle: / u01/11g_grid
    Software localization: / u01/app/grid
    Book of cluster type: ASM
    OSASM group: dba

Then click on the 'next' button I got this error:

'[INS-32021] enough disk space on this volume for the selected Oracle home ".
Cause - the selected Oracle home was on a volume without enough disk space.
Action - choose a location for Oracle home that has enough space (minimum of 3, 017 MB) or free up space on the existing volume. "

I have my 'home' directory using the test command: [host ora11g@rac1] $ df k
    Its output:

File system: / dev/sda1 and tmpfs
    1 K-blocks: 20,308,020 and 848 184
    Used: 18,888,968 and 0
    Available: 370 816 and 848 184
    Use: 99% and 0%
    Mounted on: / and/dev/shm

From the information above, we saw Oracle Home/u01 is under ' / ' (a score) and it's 99% used (not enough space). I've added a new virtual hard disk (10 GB) in VM rac1 grid.vmdk whose raw device is/dev/sdg and partitioned/dev/sdg1.

    My question is:

How to Oracle point home directory/U01 to the new partition/dev/sdg1 or grid.vmdk?

    Thank you.

  • New Partition number creates Performance.

    Hello

Let me give you my current scenario.

My Txn table is huge and used very often. That's why it was designed earlier as ITO with partition range on quarterly basis. so 3 months of data will reside in each partition and we MAXVALUe as HIGH score, has daily transaction data you won't receive data at a later date

We have also a statistics program runs every day to update the statistics in this table txn.

    So for the abstracts

    *. TXN table is IOT
*. All indexes are local index
    *. Quarterly Partition by range.
    *. Statistics updated daily.

So my request on this table can work any given input less than a second...

During the 2nd quarter, we added new tablespace, partition and index modified to include the new partition. (say its created by end of March). so, when comes on April 1 and the data is loaded to this partition (only on folders arounf 20)... my query took a lot of time... Infact he started to hung... When checked in OEM (Oracle enterprise manager). It seems that Oracle has created the 2-3 query plan and started using the BAD query plan...

Therefore, the CPU usage was very high... and same query take ages to return the result.

When we asked DBA to check on this... they did something and he began, works fine... When I checked the OEM my query did not use the BAD query plan... He used the different one.

    time spent...

Same problem happened when we tried to add the partition for Q3.

I really don't understand... Add partition must causes the performance issue. So I analyze the table after you create the partition or rebuilt the index? how it works?

    Concerning
    Balaji Tr.

We used to have a similar problem. We have monthly partitions and we had performance problems on the 1st that some queries have access to the new (empty) partition and some queries whre checking data to yesterday (full score).

Problem of the classical art. Had time by copying his stats before we used the new partition.

  • Bootcamp does not start after you have created the new partition

Hi, I accidentally created a new partition on my mac OSX 10.11 and then discovered that my bootcamp would not start. After that, I deleted the partition but the disk for the BOOTCAMP partition identifier was disk0s5 instead of disk0s4. is anyway to fix this?

    Thanks in advance.

The disc is now disk0s4, but when I try to boot in bootcamp, it says no bootable disc detected
