composite input

I have a media center 8100e. the description for the composite 2 input video says that his power record audio. What video? I tried to connect my camera to the front a / v ports and tried change the display to search for a video on a video program and none were found. My first question is what is the main use of inputs composite? And I'm able to display an a / audio-visual device on the screen by the composite input?

This entry is to record the audio/video. You must use a SW program to capture video to watch any video that you send through these ports. I don't know what SW programs are included on your PC, but it might well be something like Sonic or Intervideo and Cyberlink or similar.

See you soon,.

I just bought a 26AV500A LCD TV and input composite is having some problems. The input signal is 576i and initially the TV takes very well. The problem is it will often fall to a black screen for about one second, and when the image is flipped one of the following conditions occurs:

    (1) the image is back to normal
    (2) the image appears black and white and red and green vertical stripes are all over the screen. It looks EXACTLY like the image on the left at the end of this thread here http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-televisions/513722-vertical-red-green-stripes-screen-what.html

Is the defective TV, or what should I do to fix this? If it means something I'll use input component in the shortest but is the TV damaged according to the problem here?

    Hello Dave

As you will probably see this forum is designed for computer systems from Toshiba and I do not think that anyone here will offer any solution for the TV feature.
If you have questions about the TV, try to contact your local dealer. They should have enough experience with this stuff.

    Good luck!

  • Inputs composite and STR DN840

I have a DN840 STR. Can someone please tell me if the composite inputs are issued over HDMI to the TV or the video available only to MONITOR decision-making? The manual shows how to connect to the composite inputs. My amp sends nothing on TV when I select VIDEO on the remote control. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I know there is no upscaling, but I am satisfied that, as my last amp had dropouts associated upscaling.

    Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your reply SamT. You confirm me how I imagined the STRDN840 should work, but I get no picture on the TV if only the HDMI TV OUT cable is connected. Equipment is SONY, including the composite source, and all cables are provided by SONY. So I guess it's back to the SONY retailer for a replacement under warranty

  • Qosmio G10: Entry Composite and WinDVD creator

I have a Qosmio G10 and WinDVD creator 2, such that comes with the machine. I am trying to copy some old VHS tapes on my HDD using WinDVD creator and the composite entry next to the socket (connected on VHS by the SCART and supplied adapter)

WinDVDc is not see anything at all to record from, and even less the composite input (which works fine when I press the "input select" button right next to the adjustment of brightness on the machine screw). I cannot therefore see or record through my TV signal analog, which is near the top and works very well in MC. I can record using MC but trust the dvr - ms format it uses is not editable and is much too inflated.

I also tried to use nerovision for the same purpose, but I get an error message saying "capture device is already in use...". ».

Sorry if it's a question of intervideo, but Tosh forums seem more useful.

    Help!

    Hey Jake

Watch download drivers (the valid section for your model and OS) for a registry patch. Take a look also at the info for it. I think this should solve your problem. This means that you will get the Composite as a data source in WinDVD Creator valid entry.

  • off message input signal range by turning on pc - monitor hp s2031

    Hello

I have a HP S2031's monitor I got a few weeks ago.  After I got a new video / graphics card in the computer (because the original card couldn't handle all around 1600 x 900 (60 Hz) great things.)  However, I just noticed that when I turn on the monitor and the pc - first before windows starts it is a message indicating that the input signal is out of reach of the settings at 1600 x 900 at 60 Hz.

Now, I don't remember see this message when the original video card was in the pc ~ but I also don't always stay right there while windows starts so I can't say with certainty that the message did not exist with the original video card.

I go to the menu on the screen section and settings are set for 1600 x 900 at 60 hz and I also right click on the desktop and in the display so that settings can also be programmed correctly it and everything is set correctly.

This isn't a problem, unless I'm trying to access the bios.    I tried to go into bios to see what kind of options are there for the video configuration and the only options we configuration video AGP Aperture Size (64 MB). Main (AGP) graphics card. AGP hardware detected - AGP card. Only problem was that at the time where I got this far in the bios that the monitor went to sleep on me. which makes it difficult to get out of the bios and boot the computer normally on the monitor going to sleep on me.

Anyone has an idea as to why I'm getting that message about the input signal and how do I fix as well as how do I stop the monitor going to sleep while I'm in the bios?

I am running Windows XP Professional with sp3 and all updates and the monitor is the HP S2031.  The graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 and the monitor is connected to the pc with the monitor's DVI port since this card has only 2 ports dvi on it. I had an old card in the pc (which has the VGA port) but he could not show the 1600 x 900 with this card (and I'm not sure that the message was there with the old card, since most of the time that I'm not just sitting there waiting to start everything)

I didn't notice the message until today and nothing has changed - other than the new video card and who is in the pc for about 2 weeks now.

Any help would be much appreciate.

    Hello

Sorry that it took so long to get back to you, but things have been very busy here (between the two to get hit with a foot of snow before Halloween and loss of power for a week still to go back to normal)

In any case, as for the video card - it is a card ASUS NVidia GeForce FX 5200 which has 2 DVI connectors which him.  According to the information on the map

Expansion / connectivity Compatible Slots 1 x AGP connectivity Interfaces

    1 x S-video input - 4 pin mini-DIN (with adapter), 1 x S-video output - 4pin mini DIN (with adapter), 1 x video composite input - RCA (with adapter), 1 x video output composite - RCA (with adapter), 2 x DVI - I - 29 pin combined DVI, VGA - HD D - Sub (HD-15) 15-pin (with adapter)

Anyway, I tried to plug the monitor into the other DVI port, and it now works fine.  I guess that a port is bad or it is not intended for making that comes with this monitor.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.  So they were very much appreciated.

  • Qosmio G30-155: video Capture does not work using s-video in port

Toshiba Qosmio G30-155 video capture does not work via the ports of the video (Windows Vista Ultimate x 86) victory of version 3.90 BIOS
Video capture does not work in Windows Media Center, even if selected as ports of entry port composite or s-video in Windows Media Center settings.

In the BIOS version 3.90 parameters via esc - F1 can only select this option: NTSC (USA), NTSC (Japan), PAL (S-video).

It is worth noting that the laptop is supposed to be capture NTSC for composite input mode

Someone turned to make this model of video capture for laptop, via composite video input with the new version of the BIOS (version 3.90 win)?

Can you please explain what you want to do exactly?

Many years ago I had this old Qosmio with TV tuner and antenna in port so I used it to transfer my old VHS format videos and burn movie DVDs.

To this end, I didn't use Windows Media Center. Why you n t use other recording applications. I think that everyone is better than Windows Media Center.

  • Qosmio G20 with Intervideo WinDVR3

    Hello

I have a laptop Qosmio G20/395LS (purchased at the Japan) that since I converted to English Windows XP Pro SP2. I then downloaded all the drivers from Toshiba on the site of Toshiba UK, choosing the Qosmio PQG20, which is the closest model from my Japanese version. (The Toshiba to the Japan site is not all drivers available for download, that's why I used the site of Toshiba UK.)

In any case, all functions work perfectly, except that I canoe use Intervideo WinDVR3 to watch television. It recognizes the Composite inputs and S-video but not the antenna TV input option. I have a normal TV antenna cable connected to the Qosmio and can watch TV with other software such as Qosmio Player, Windows Media Center and same Intervideo Home Theater. But not with WinDVR3 (Im using the latest version downloaded from the Web site of Interviodeo.) I don't like Windows Media Center or Intervideo Home Theater and Qosmio Player not use that by cutting off the power supply, so I defintely want to use Intervideo WinDVR.

I contacted Intervideo, and they said that my hardware is certainly consistent, but I must have the correct WDM driver installed for the TV Tuner to operate correctly the WinDVR. Im not sure what is a WDM driver, but looks like I need to download the correct driver for the TV Tuner on this Qosmio.

I checked Toshiba Japan website, but I saw no TV Tuner driver to download it. Ive tried a few of the drivers TV Tuner for the different models on the Web sites of UK and US Toshiba, but WinDVR still does not recognize the option antenna TV.

Can someone point me to the right driver WDM driver that I need to get this software WinDVR3 will?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Toshiba doesn't recommend that you install the graphics drivers 3rd or any additional graphics accelerator. This may damage the video card or the motherboard.
On the Toshiba driver page, you will find all the WDM drivers. Only the Tv tuner and graphics drivers.

I don't know if the WinDVR is supported by Mr. antenna interface I've never checked.
However, I found this site. If you wish, you can consult this site on WDM driver:

    Hello

Can someone tell me how to use the tuner DVB - T in Qosmioplayer? It is very much in the media library, but on starting the Qosmioplayer I just get snow like the old analog TV. I can go to my sky box via composite inputs, but want to use TNT an antenna in the drive.

    Hello

As far as I know the Qosmio player is not able to receive the digital channels.
    Unfortunately, it is not possible.

  • Qosmio G20 issue - Codec of Capture / Capture a bound program

    Hello guys and girls!

Recently I bought the laptop Qosmio G20 102 and I am very satisfied with it because I found many flaws that annoy me in my work. Now, I am addressing those who might be kind enough to help me with the biggest problem of all.

Provided laptop preinstalled with software of InterVideo WinDVR5 which are used to capture video from any source there, as a Composite, antenna and S-video. WinDVR uses mpeg codec to compress the raw data in process, overview and mpg files that you can save later.

Question: can you change the capture codec or software?

    Why?

Codec is a bit outdated in terms of video editing. Much more than other codec mpeg on the market and it creates 'blocking effect' in some digital editing software like the first Vegas at the controls of speed or effects are used, and I use them a lot the quality of compressed video is degraded. With the help of divx, xvid, mjpeg codec would be much better to capture video at this level and would really be 'the art of smart entertainment.

InterVideo WinDVR5 is provided specially for Toshiba laptops with TV tuner or composite input. The software is great. I use version 3 on my desktop and I am totally satisfied. Unlike the version 3 on my desk, on-board version 5 on my laptop do not change the settings for video quality. He's stuck in normal and it didn't budge.

So, I have way, is there a way to answer my question in the means to change the codec or capture software, or even something else?

    [Edited by: admin]

    Hello Marko

It is very nice that you are satisfied with your device. G20 is a very nice unit and hope I'll get it one day too. Back to your problem. I don t want to write much more just a short explanation. Like other laptop manufacturers Toshiba preinstall some deaf for users, but it is just a limited Version limited. These applications are suitable for Toshiba.

In my opinion, there are basic functions and the user can test the software. If the software is good the user must purchase a full version with all the functions. If you n t like them, it can be removed and each user can install their favorite software.

I understand you want to edit your videos but I put t think that there is a possibility to change anything.

In my opinion, you need to install your favorite applications (full version) and on this way, you will be able to capture videos as you want. On this path, it would be 'the art of smart entertainment.

    Good luck!

  • Capture Analog Audio Cassette on Qosmio player

G163 manual indicates that the SVHS-IN should be used to capture the audio analogue. But same Belkin do not sell a SVHS cable with two RCA plugs / mini-prises on the other end. Or is it safe to the output of a speaker port extension cassette player for entry into the microphone port.

But which could overload the circuits if the volume is too high. I have the audacity to make the real analog - digital conversion and capture. I am amazed that this a portable Hi-Spec (and expensive) does not come with something as simple as an analog audio line-in port.

    Thank you very much.

    1. you get easily no matter what audio through audio red and white composite input(red-white-yell0w) provided and yellow video.

    2. video (not SVHS) is for video only (image), it cannot carry audio!

3.I have used windvd creator and the above to convert ALL my VHS and SVHS tapes on DVD with audio and audio video and even dubbed through the input mic for more than a year now (best video with SVIDEO and you must still connect to an audio input to the unit)
Qosmio comes with a variety of composite video input s video and the split left and right audio inpur with minijack adapter (marked triple minijack)

  • Qosmio G10: analog video capture camcorder

    Help, please

I'm new on this forum and the Canada. I bought a Qosmio G10 earlier this year, but had only one chance to try to use it to capture and convert my tapes of videographic V8 recently with no success.

I tried Toshiba support without hope. I tried the registery for creator VinDVD patch 2, but still he does not see my video input of the camera stream. I tried the two S-video and composite inputs with no result. Anyone with a similar experience?

    I appreciate your help.

    Hello

If you use the S-video in jack so be sure that it of really a s-video-in and not OUT port.
But the most important parameter is placed in the development picture Toshiba utility.
My friend had used the Qosmio months and this utility was preinstalled on your laptop.
That I myself can remember he was placed in the folder utilities from Toshiba. Anyway, look on your operating system for this tool.

Then enter the monitor input parameters. There you should be able to define the scope settings and select the external input parameters for video, camera, game etc

  • Microsoft Sidewinder x 4 keyboard and program Microsoft Keyboard in Vista

I just connected a Microsoft Sidewinder x 4 keyboard in Vista after installing Intellitype 7.1.  The Microsoft Keyboard program continues to show an old "Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard' as a default. I changed the Sidewinder keyboard, but as soon as I click OK in the Microsoft Keyboard window, it restores the old wireless keyboard (is no longer attached) when I opened the window. I uninstalled all the keyboards in the Device Manager and rebooted Vista.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Intellitype with no luck. Can someone help? Thank you.

Yep, a clean install would do :-)

A test, I plugged my X 4 my laptop Win7. He found as a "composite input device", but the bank lights do not come, so I guess that it relies on the software to make them work. I didn't install Intellitype, so I still think there is a problem with the installation of the software on your computer. You can download and install Revo Uninstaller, I have mentioned earlier, it allows to eliminate all traces of Intellitype, reboot, and reinstall. I think that even without the software installed, there will be always an HID input device listed in Device Manager, but not two. If I had the PC here, I would like to try it, but I'm in no hurry for the time or anything since I am retired :-)

  • Windows Media Center requires hardware IR with Hauppauge pvr-150

I am configuring a Hauppauge prv-150 in Vista with a box of DirecTV, providing through the entrance Composite (or S-video) to the map.

If I use the task/configuration option and select the TV Signal, automatically, configure Yes, Satellite, I find myself in a "select a working TV Signal".  The scan selects 1 Composite video, and I see the video signal.  But the next page says IR hardware not detected that stops the installation program.

I have not a transmitter IR for WMC use to change channels on the Satellite box.  Is there a way to bypass this requirement or do I have to buy a transmitter IR to go beyond that?

If there are a few problems of digital rights management preventing what I want to do, please notify and save me a lot of trouble.  I have received no indication the facility to suggest such a thing.  I saw a comment on authorized mpeg decoders, so if the pvr-150 is not allowed, I'm also wasting my time.

If this isn't the case, is there another way to set up so I don't have the IR material.  I tried the antenna option, but it does not a composite input of my TV card.  I really didn't need WMC to be able to change the channel on my cable box.

    Saltgrass Hello,

As a work around, you can try to plug an IR Blaster. Here are a few things to work around this problem, you can check.

    a. check whether your decoder Satellite has an IR receiver which you can connect.

    b. check whether your TV Tuner card has an IR receiver which you can connect.

You can also use blasters IR you can connect as the IR receivers. You can use your favorite search engine and get more information on the IR blasters.

  • computer using the TV display

I'm trying to show my desktop on my sony TV.  Help

    Hi "Dede"

Looks like you expected an answer for a while, let me help out you:

The first thing you need to do when connecting your computer to your TV is to identify what type of entry you have on your TV and what kind of output you have on your computer.  The output out of your next video card would be the best place to start because if you do not have the output on the video card connection then you obviously aren't going to be able to connect to your TV.

    For reference -.

    Common types of output:

    * A Coaxial cable (the same as the cable box)

    * Composite input RCA (yellow, red and white inputs)

    * S - Video

    * VGA

New TVs and less common types of inputs/outputs:

    * Component video

    * DVI

    * HDMI

    (1) IDENTIFY THE OUTPUTS OF YOUR COMPUTER:

It will appear out of your video card. Often these will be VGA or S-video but can be one of the other connections above.

    (2) CONNECT IT TO YOUR TV:

The easiest is to simply plug in directly. You can also find adapters if you do not have the exact link type from the PC to the computer. That is to say. VGA S-video adapter. You'll need of course also the cord from computer to computer.

Note: The amount of resolution which allows to display on the TV would be based on the amount of vertical lines of resolution of the TV. I'd be able to tell you exactly what you have if I knew what Sony TV you have, but here is the general rule:

    For example:

    Not HDTV-

    500 lines of resolution of 640 x 480 resolution computer =

    HDTV-

    computer 720 p resolution = 1280 x 720

    1080i and 1080 p = 1920 x 1080

Do not forget that the effective resolution can be even less because the edges of the TV may cut the part of the resolution of TVs on.

Good luck and hope this helps.

I don't know what happened, I left my PC off overnight and planned reformatting today. But I decided to give him another chance. Instead of saying the tuner was not available. He showed me a static snow image strong, as he was trying to use my Analogue tuner. In fact, it is supposed to use the composite input for my cable box. I re set my TV signals, and now everything works well again. Its strange because I reboot half a dozen times last night and it's never worked. Leaving the PC turned off for the night must have done the trick, I guess.
