Computer clock keeps time

Why my computer clock will not keep the right time?, I have continually put wright through "change date and time" in the control panel.  I have Vista Home Premium

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/dealing-with-Windows-Vista-time-sync-problems/

If you have problems with your time while the computer is running normally, read the info on the link above on how synchronize your time for a time, to maintain the correct time server.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the other hand, if you set your time properly, turn off your computer, turn it on and the weather has changed to a previous Date/hour/year, there is somethimg else.
There is a battery of size piece, trickle-feed in your motherboard, which manages the time and settings while your computer is turned off.
It may run out.
If that's the problem, it costs about $5 to replace.
  • Satellite P100 - time clock keeps changing
    The clock on my Satellite P100 continues to change (running Win XP MCE) randomly during the day while it is running.
    When I start the PC in the morning, clock's time similar to when I turned off the day before.
    I use my PC in my office connected to the power supply. For the first months of ownership I left battery off the computer because I wanted to preserve his life. I don't want to run on battery and go through a process of charge-discharge throughout the day while I'm working. I was wondering if this could be the problem and now keep the main battery plugged all the time but the clock still continues to change.
    The clock doesn't change by specific hours, but at some point almost randomly sometime before the correct time. Sometimes a few minutes, sometimes hours.
    I installed and run all of the last anti-virus, spyware etc etc and nothing is detected.
    Looks like my faulty CMOS/RTC battery?
    This is my work computer and I can't afford to be without it for more than a day. I don't want to go back with all my data on HDD business.
    Someone knows how it is easy to replace the RTC battery yourself (I know it will void the warranty)-I am an experienced PC "Builder" and fortunately can disassemble computers etc.
    I hope that someone can offer some advice. Why Toshiba is not a help line that you can ask for help?
    Hello
    Maybe it's not a RTC battery problem, but the problem of BIOS?
    I found this Toshiba on a resource conflict real time clock in the L100 and P100 notebook Device Manager
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7301SU0005R01.htm
    It is very interesting, if this resource conflict could have a bad influence on the time of windows.
  • I have problems with my computer with the time remaining after I reset the clock and made sure it was on the correct time zone and summer time has been check the battery has also been replaced
    and it will not keep the exact time it will keep accelerate at least 5 minutes or more.
    I don't know what else to do about it. You can someone help me?
    I still find myself make too many assumptions.
    First of all, I guess your derivative of clock occurs during the time when the computer is running and not during the period where it is off (or immediately early)?
    Second, I'm assuming that when you run the command "w32tm/Resync" above, the clock made it back to the correct time and no errors were reported?
    Third, you say that your clock drift 5 minutes or more, but you do not tell us how long this gain occurs.  It is two times more win if you wait twice as long to check?  Is the gain gradual or sudden?  Keep he wins or if he stops wins once it arrives before?
    Conditions of default for a computer connected non-member of the field, the time will be updated network-time only at the start and then once a week.  If you are winning too much too quickly, you can adjust how many times your computer asks for time.  Computers in the domain must be more precise and one every hour for a default time synchronization.  You can set your W32tm to that of a computer in the domain to resynchronize your computer more often (SpecialPollInterval).  Here are two articles that describe the clock settings:
  • Lenovo Z500 can't keep time (clock drift)
    Hello
    I had real problems with my new Lenovo Z500 on Win8 and the big one at the moment is its inability to keep time. After a reboot, it will keep the time that I stopped him. Then after that it will be adrift. For example, while he was working there, I had a movie on. I checked the time at the end of the film as it must have been was late again according to my laptop that this is only about 30 minutes later.
    This becomes a huge pain. All files have the incorrect date and to have a clock which cannot keep time is next useless.
    On a very old PC I guess that's the CMOS battery on its way, but I only got the laptop a few days! I would probably cancel my warranty replacement anyway.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Richard
    Do check my laptop about 18 hours after I finally stopped him and that time seems correct. That said, I checked my data and the time settings and synced it on start up. Windows may have cancelled my test!
    I downloaded and installed three drivers. It's the BIOS and positive battery that I believe was the chipset. My memory is a little fuzzy on the third, but the BIOS is more likely to be solved.
    It will stop for a brief moment, just to be sure.
  • Clock loses time to computer HP G62 laptop but battery OK
    Clock keeps losing time. All messages say that the battery must be faulty, but when I run the battery (with or without the external power supply) check the status is always good. What is the reliability is the battery check and he would take the flaws at the origin of the problem of clock?
    Otherwise the overall performance of the battery on the laptop does not have seriously deteriorated since the problem of clock started.
    I would be grateful for any help.
    Hi Tony,.
    The battery you need to replace is the RTC (CMOS) battery - the procedure to replace that is detailed from Page 51 in your & Maintenance Guide.
    The replacement battery, you need is almost certainly a cr2032 (but controlling one of you remove) which is easily available at any PC shop / electric - an example of this battery can be seen here.
  • the computer clock does not refresh automatically
    My computer clock remains at 11/12/2002, no matter how many times I change time clock, when I go on the internet I can not go on hotmail or other websites, for security reasons.
    Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this!
    Hello
    1 did you change your computer, after which the issue started?
    2. what browser do you use to access the Web site?
    Check your time 'BIOS' by going to the configuration to start the computer.  Make sure that the time is also on you want to be.
    Warning of the BIOS:
    BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
    You probably have a failed in your motherboard CMOS battery. It's a battery power supply NET, size piece that keeps your system settings when your computer is off.
    My screen Gmail keeps time and goes back to the sign on screen. Very annoying. Help, please. Len
    Hi Leonard,.
    Please contact Microsoft Community.
    The problem may occur due to browser settings correct.
    To better help you, could you please confirm a number of things like:
    1. Are what happens with Gmail or with any what web based e-mail accounts?
    2. What browser he uses to access Gmail account? If this problem is specific to the Gmail account?
    Step 1: If you use Internet Explorer, I suggest you to check the number in mode - Add-ons. Start Internet Explorer in no Add-ons mode.
    While Add-ons can enhance your online experience, they can sometimes interfere or conflict with other software on your computer. Try to start Internet Explorer without Add-ons to see if the problem goes away.
    a. press the Windows key + R and then type iexplore - extoff without the quotes and press ENTER.
    If you are able to access Internet Explorer without any problem, then add-ons can cause the error.
    You try the steps to activate the modules individually determine which add-ons may be causing the problem.
    Step 2:
    (a) open Internet explorer on the desktop.
    (b) click on the Tools button, click on Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or disable add-ons
    (c) in the list view, click Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all add-ons.
    (d) click on the Add-ons that you want to activate, and then select activate.
    (e) repeat step 4 for each module that you want to activate.
    For reference, see the link for how to manage add-ons:
    Manage Add-ons in Internet Explorer
