My computer hangs all of a sudden upward.
I recently reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition on my computer. Everything went well and the OS works fine except for a problem which has a very boring event. After that I was using the computer for a while and I leave it for about more than 20 minutes, the computer hangs insofar as I can't stop even without using the power button. I went to the power options in the control panel display section, but nothing I've tried it eliminates this annoying problem. Can you help me with this?
Hi Neal5555,
Thanks for posting. After that make the reappattage reload you all the latest OEM drivers? You reinstall using a partition recovery or your own media? When you went in the power options did you see selected sleep or hibernate?
Try turning off the sleep, hibernation and options in the control panel of the screen saver. In addition, please download the latest video drivers from your manufacturer OEM.
I hope this helps. Please report if you have any questions.

Computer hangs after installing windows updates...
computer hangs after the installation of update. Full system restore and the computer worked fine for a week. Has started having problems still... verified and automatic updates for windows have been downloaded and installed today. Confused about where to go from here. Help, please. Thank you!
To be clear, the issue is not appeared since the updates have been installed one at a time, correct?
KB2447568 is A compatibility view list update is available for Windows Internet Explorer 8:23 November 2010
The KB updates a file in Internet Explorer.
There is a small chance that Trend Micro has a conflict with the update. If this is the issue, then there would be more posts on this topic.
This looks like a temporary glitch occurred. The only suggestion I would make is that when there are a bunch of updates, as there was in December, then it would be better to install the most complex by themselves.
This would mean that changing setting Windows updates for "download updates for me, but let me choose whether to install them.
For example, the cumulative update for Internet Explorer, KB2416400, would be installed last, and by himself. And, since you pick a time to install updates that have been previously downloaded, then you can install them in groups of 4 and If it is another problem caused by them or their installation, you will be able to refine specific update was the cause.

Computer hangs or freezes a few minutes after the beginning
Hi all
I hope someone has the knowledge to help me.
I have a Dell Vostro 1500, Vista Business x 32 installed.
In the last days:
* On a normal startup, the computer hangs after a few minutes.
I get either 'failure-security options' pop up or the computer crashes only the operation of the pointer.
The blue off the Task Manager CPU usage hard drive light will goes from 0 to 1% and stays there.I was able to copy information from a pop up that says I was saved from a fall BSOD:

Service Pack: 2_0
Product: 256_1* No problem starting and running programs and internet with ' SafeMode w / networking. "
* The only thing I added was a Microsoft Update in the last days.
I tried to do a system restore, but there is no system restore point.
I used the restore of the system about 3 weeks there due to the other Microsoft Update was also causing startup problems.
I didn't knowingly clear Points of system restore or turn off System Restore.* I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and I got quarantined {PUP. Optional.Sanbreel.A, PUP. Optional.Sanbreel.A, PUP. Optional.Instacore.A, PUP. Optional.Hold.A}
* I ran AVAST antivirus recently with no viruses listed, but not in the last days.
* Chkdsk fixed drive C by removing some entries and fixed a couple of bad sectors.
* sfc/scannow to block exactly 82% and I had to make a compromise difficult stop.
If someone is knowledgeable on how to correct the situation described above, please answer!
Perhaps it would be better for me to all my files on a memory stick or external hard drive simply copy and then reload Vista? Is there a disadvantage in doing this?
This way you do not uncover what caused the problem and you might find that you still have a problem.

Original title: computer hangs on restrting have to swich to then restart windows vesta 64 bit how to fix startup journal
Restart the problem have disc windows do not know how to make a boot fix
Hi John McAvoy,.
(1) since when are you facing this problem?
(2) you get an error message?
I want to clarify if this happens when you start Windows after logging in or before opening a session on windows.
Method 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...) Except the mouse and keyboard > restart the computer and check
If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any drivers\software update for the device.
Thanks and greetings

Hello
1 did you do changes on the computer before the show?
2. deal with any problem with Internet Explorer when you browse the internet?
3. it happens with other applications as well?
Method 1: Safe Mode with network and clean boot
Check if the problem persists in safe mode with network. If the problem does not persist in SafeMode with network check if the problem persists in the boot.
Step 1: Safe Mode with networking
Networking in safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers with networking. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.
See the site:
Start your computer in safe mode
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Step 2: Clean boot
When the computer starts to boot, programs non-Microsoft will not be started and would avoid any interruption of their share.
See the following site:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.
Note: once you are done with the boot, follow step 7 article to set your computer to normal startup.
Note: If in case you are connected through a wireless connection and then when you start the System Configuration utility to perform the clean boot, click Startup and Services tab one time and check see topic wireless are turned on (Enabled).
Method 2:
See the site:
Windows 7 hangs or freezes

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Computer hangs during playback of streaming online videos
Dear friends,
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop, Core i3, OS Windows Ultimate 64 bit processor.
I have a weird problem for two days. Instantly, my computer hangs when I play a video (like YouTube) online on any browser elsewhere (IE/Firefox, Chrome). And sometimes only the parts sound without the video, but that is only for a moment before it crashes.
I tried most of the common fixes as updated drivers, video card, reinstall Adobe Flash Player, uninstall applications useless, but nothing worked so far.
I'm really frustrated by this and can not think of a solution. Please help me with this. Thank you for your time.
Kind regards
SAHello Syed_Asif
Try these steps and check if the YouTube video freezes between steps, so we can say that it has helped solve the problem.
Step 1:
I understand that you have updated your drivers, but I suggest you go to Device Manager, located in your video card. Uninstall the driver, download the latest version of the driver and reinstall it.Step 2:
Clear your "cache" of all the 'temporary internet files', 'cookies '.
and 'history '. If you are using Internet Explorer, perform the following steps:The KB Article ID: 260897 - How to remove the content of the Internet temporary files folder
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/260897Step 3:
Run SFC/scannow to see if you have corrupted system files.
Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannowThis will check for any violation of the integrity and repair any damaged operating system files.
Restart your system
Step 4:
Run the chkdsk command: (you can do this step at night because depending on the size of your drive, it may take some time to complete.
1 disable any security software before you attempt to upgrade or do a clean install.
2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)
3. disconnect all external devices before installing.
4. check your hard disk for errors:
Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.Step 5:
Defragment you the system
To defragment your hard driveOpen Disk Defragmenter by clicking the start . In the search box, type and then Disk Defragmenter in the list of results, click Disk Defragmenter.
Under the current state, select the disk to defragment.
To determine whether the disk should be defragmented or not, click Analyze disk. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Once Windows is finished analyzing the disk, you can check the percentage of disk fragmentation in the column was last run. If the number is greater than 10%, you must defragment the drive.
Click on defragment disk. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Disk Defragmenter may take a few minutes to a few hours at the end, depending on the size and the degree of fragmentation of your hard drive. You can still use your computer during the defragmentation process.
Let us know if the measures have contributed to your question.
