computer keyboard laptop problem some keys

Laptop: compaq presario cq62 core i5

recently, some of my keys are are unresponsive or work when I press them. I have not spilled or left my laptop falling, but all of a sudden, my backspace,------, and various enter key will not respond when I try to use them. It is very annoying to not be able to use my back bar and it's bugging me! I tried my laptop for virus scanning, but nothing was found. I'm not sure if it could be a problem of circuit or something, but I need to fix, as soon as possible because I need my laptop for class. Help me please if anyone knows what may be the problem!

Thank you!

I guess it's a problem with the keyboard...

the only thing you can try is to open your laptop and connected to search if the keyboard cable is always good, otherwise, you can install a new keyboard...

recently, I had the same problem with my laptop, when I discovered that the display cable was not well connected...

    Hi guys,.

So basically, my computer HP laptop froze about three times today. I had to press the button reset each time. Finally, the computer came back the menu but has frozen immediately. I pressed the reset button again. This time, when I turn on the laptop the first thing that appears is the HP Logo and the "resumption of system preparation. After a while the screen goes white and after a while once again the HP logo comes again, but this time is not written and just a loop that goes round in circles. Nothing happens after that. I tried it turn on and shut off again, but the same thing happens.

Does anyone know how can I fix? It seems that you must press F11 when you turn it on and go through a few options to make it work again? I have some pictures and music on there I'd like to keep, can I do this? Or do I need to clean the system? There not too important! Little help would be great if someone can give me some adivice on how to fix it!

    Thank you very much

    Hello:

You have two choices, if you don't want to buy another laptop.

    1. buy a usb wireless adapter at low prices.

    2. replace the motherboard (not recommended). The power was cut on the mini-PCIe slot that's why your wireless card stop working.

  • Compaq Presario CQ56: a problem with the computer keyboard laptop presario CQ56

All keys (F) Act as the FN key is been held down when it is not. This just started today. I have a free prog called "keyboard test utility. Now, I have discovered that I can get 1 clean tap of F4 and the prog to test keyboard shows only illuminated F4. The next time I hit the letter (P) F4 and the Windows key are lit. Now, if I tap the FN key, and then press the F4 key. Again, F4 is the only 1 who turned on the prog of test. It's almost like the FN button nosed. I just to confirm. Rather than hold down the FN key to get things under the keys (F) (as a volume-, volume +, cut and so on). Now, I have to hold down the FN key to get the regular F1 to F12 keys. The rest of the keyboard is fine. A regular toggle switch or a switch in a radio push button. The FN key acts like someone ripped the wires to the back of the switch and reverse the wires and the switch can operate in reverse. Beats me how this can happen to a laptop keyboard.

  • Two HP Pavilion Series computer G7 laptop problem!

Hi all! It is my first time to post a thread, so correct me if I'm wrong. I am also a child of 15 years and I know how to take care of your laptop. I love HP so just to tell you all!

So I had three laptops computers HP in the past, but the 1st is broken so I want to talk about the laptop of 2nd and 3rd.

My 2nd laptop which is a HP Pavilion 1219wm g7, I had for over 2 and a half years and it was a good laptop until my father using a laptop, and when he was going to put in place, he accidentally dropped the laptop, then the other day I was looking to see if something was wrong, nothing was wrong that day until a week or two , the left hinge and the right hinge broke nails, so when I tried to open my laptop, it would make a lot of noise and push the hinges on, and also when the hinges were out, I figured that my laptop fan not working anymore, while I was searching for YouTube videos on how to disassemble a laptop as mine and so I don't , and when I got most everything out, I saw that the hinges were broken and nails went down, so I ask my dad to get out of the nails, but he said no because he had some color gold metal around the nail, I thought the hinges were pushing the laptop fan and watched the fan and I saw a few pieces of fan which are plastic fell off the coast and I erased the dust Too much. Open so now I reassembled the laptop and it still works and the fan of the laptop works also but instead, it made a lot of noise and vibrates the phone, but when I push the area where the fan is, it makes no noise, but when I let go, it emits noises, the laptop hinges I always leave my cell phone because I'm afraid to open again and he'll break a lot more thinking inside the laptop and when I'm not using it, I let the "Sleep" mode So basically the parts fan parts are broken and made a loud noise and vibrating a lot when not pushed and the left and right hinges of the screen LCD is broken. Any way to replace these parts?

Now for my third laptop, this laptop has really no problem, but one thing I ask is I have ordered this laptop online on Amazon, which is this link here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009AU2JN2/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . Anyway, I bought this laptop on May 17, 2014 and received may 27, 2014. It is called HP Pavilion g7-2240us. After the configuration of the laptop, I open HP Support Assistant, and then I get this message that says something like ' warranty HP is exceeded. I bought a new laptop and Standard warranty Start Date was on January 25, 2013, and Standard warranty end Date was February 28, 2014. So I thought that it was a problem because once you buy a laptop PC or laptop or something else, the guarantee starts automatically on that date. So all the ideas that is the problem?

I know it was good, but I wanted to give you all the information I had and tell me if I need to say more!

    Thanks for the help!

    Thank you for your query.

For the G7-1219wm Pavilion, I could not find a guide to maintenance and service to provide reference numbers.  However, here is a link to the HP parts store, where you try self-service option to locate parts and prices or contact them and they will be happy to help you.

Now on the mandate. as with most products, they come with a warranty from the factory which is what you see. You must register the product from the date of purchase for HP will know when it was purchased.  Once all the required information is received, they will work on the update of the guarantee. Here is a link to register your product. HP product registration

For convenience I'll send HP Pavilion computer g7-2240us laptop product specifications, so you can easily locate the product number.

  • Computer connection laptop problem - says password is incorrect

    Hello

I have a small Acer aspire laptop V5 that I use to run windows applications a little when I can't use my office.  This has had 8 pre-installed windows.  I have upgraded to windows 8.1 and it ran OK for a few weeks.  However, now, when I try to log in (on the blue screen where it shows my name, e-mail address and has a box where I enter my password) it tells me my password is incorrect and to make sure that I use the password of my Microsoft account.  I do this, but it won't let me. I have not changed anything since I logged setting the machine a couple of weeks.

There is no other way I know to get into my laptop, so it's actually a Clipboard.

    Anyone know of helpful advice?

Any help appreciated - it's a Clipboard rather big and expensive to keep on my desk.

    Kind regards

    Hamish.

  • Pavilion 15-b142dx keyboard some keys not working not

A friend gave me their 15-b142dx sleekbook Pavilion, apparently AFTER they spill some type of liquid inside. I was able to start the computer, however, there is still a problem with the keyboard.  When the keyboard is installed in the laptop, several of the keys do not work. However, when I go out (and hang with some plastics) it works fine.  I disconnected the ribbon cable and took little alcohol to clean the area. I was also able to run HP diagnostics on the startup, short and long versions and they come back ok.  In addition, I connected an external keyboard and it worked fine. I searched the forum for this type of question and do not see. If someone has had this problem, or I'm looking to replace the keyboard?

I am currently running windows 8.1. I don't get any error messages, but I noticed that HP does not have a litmus test of keyboard in his diagnoses.

    Hi there @MrKen99

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that some of your keys do not work, after that little liquid has decided to make an unwanted visit to the Board of Directors. I'm happy to help you with this.

In my sordid past that I've seen some really messed up keyboards, due to things like, coffee, cola, water, whatever. My most memorable was someone who gave me a computer that has been used in a kitchen and was close to a deep Fryer, and the keyboard was not only covered with oil and fat, but a generation of fuzzy dust throughout the keyboard upwards. In this case, I have recommended a replacement as the cost to clean it was more expensive than a new one.

In any case, it sounds as if you have already tried to clean it up, but if you do not jump off the keys to delinquency / inactive, the contacts could be "sticky". Make a note of the keys that are the problem and treat them individually. This document shows how to remove and replace the keys on a standard notebook keyboard.

Computer keyboard laptop troubleshooting (Windows 8)

If you don't have any success doing this then I would look at the keyboard, or by using an external keyboard replacement. If you choose a replacement you can check the service manual for it, and it will give a list the items supported.

  • Problem with keyboard: some keys return two, not one, characters

I have a MacBook Air 11 '' mid-2012 128 GB SSD model running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 and my keyboard has developed a strange problem occultation key repeat.  Whenever you press the "3" button, the system generates thus simultaneously a '3' and '6 '.  This motif is repeated this diagonal of the keyboard down, i.e.

    '3' generates a '3' and '6 '.

    'e' generates an 'e' and a 'y '.

    "d" generates a "d" and an "h".

    'c' generates a 'c' and a "n".

The reverse is also true, that is, a '6' generates a '3' and so on.  Curiously, the sign '=' generates a character "§" as well, a special character generated by keeping down option and pressing "6".

    (This combo generates a ' § ' and a ' £', hidden under the '3'.)

The same problem occurs when you use the Shift or Control keys as modifiers.

I can work around the problem by using either a connection wireless Bluetooth or wired USB keyboard (like using the "Keyboard Viewer" option under "System Preferences"), but that kind of defeats the point of having a laptop as a MacBook Air, Yes?  The problem is intermittent, but becomes very annoying.  (Try to type a password with such a mess!) It sounds like a mechanical problem requiring a possible replacement of the sale wholesale (and), but I hope someone out there can have a software or another solution.  Thank you!

    Raoul_Duke wrote:

That certainly points to make it a hardware problem.  It is difficult to imagine a software problem that would not affect both internal and external keyboards.

    Hello lialou,

I got your message about the new keyboard failure.  I recommend you do a full system restore to see if that restores the function of these keys.  Make sure that you back up your data beforehand.

because today, I have some problems with some keys on my keyboard, my Z-(left next to the Z) and my FN key is not working (I had to copy and paste the XD Z) but this problem is really annoying is there a way to fix this?

It is unclear to me that the simple keys to repair can be performed.
In this case, the entire keyboard must be replaced.

I put t know which model of laptop and how old there but it is possible that some of the keys are broken.
What you can try is to remove the check and cap - keys if key is dirty and see if there is a contact problem.
