Computer laptop blank screen works but on external screen
I have a Pavilion DV4-1400; Windows 7
My screen is white and works on an external display. I've already replaced the laptop screen and inverter, what else could be?

Hello, I hope you can help me! I have a laptop Aspire 2920 with Windows Vista Home Edition O.S. It starts and works fine except that after I used it with an external monitor (a tv screen) on the possibility of using the external monitor, it only now starting to think that the monitor is the flat screen tv and doesn't recognize the normal screen of the laptop. The laptop screen is now "pixeled" and shows only like 2/3 of its total width. I checked in Control Panel and it has recorded as the 'normal' monitor flat screen, but I can't way a find to tell the computer that the monitor is the same as usual and not the flat screen tv. Thank you!!!

I ve solved the problem.
Do you have your suggestion to reset and did not work, but keeping your idea, I hooked to an external monitor, mounted in Control Panel, remove the "non-existent" monitor in the device section.
At this point, I had no image at all in the laptop and only the external monitor.
Turn off the computer and then reset the power supply.
Because the computer did not all other monitors, he then had to use the one by default with the default resolution, etc..

I have a computer laptop 'HP ENVY TouchSmart Sleekbook 4-1115dx", which is about two weeks after the warranty, and the screen is empty. I currently have an old crt monitor hooked up to it and everything works fine with the machine - just can't see the screen. Will I need to replace the whole screen, or can I just replace the Ribbon/string to the display through the hinges to the main unit? Any suggestions with where can I buy parts for this would be very useful as well.
Thanks for your reply. I found that the 3 m tape was broke the cable of the LCD when you take the cover at the back of the laptop screen. I unplugged then re plugged the cable Ribbon and respected band of restraint and large all worked.

HP laptop, 2000 - 369WM: computer laptop not screen not work/laptop won't start not
This laptop was headed for a few years, I'm not sure how much because it is not mine. My phone has been stalled next to the laptop and fell on it and the screen when it is dark. I tried to reboot it but the screen does not always work, it continued for nearly a day. Finally when I tried to restart, the laptop would begin to start but stop for two or three seconds in a power upward. Tried a hard reset, but it did nothing. After the hard reset the computer started, but froze on the Windows splash screen. Subsequently, he left always start after two or three seconds. My USB ports do not seem to work properly. I used to be able to plug in my external hard drive and mobile phone to transfer files, but now I can't. In the DEVICE MANAGER of the laptop, nothing seems to be wrong, no red or yellow warning. However, the USB ports DO not seem to power the devices, my cell phone goes into charge mode and my HDD Seagate you can feel it vibrate slightly. There are two USB ports on the left side and one on the right, and all three can not detect devices. Help, please.
HERE IS a GUIDEto solving the problems of USB such as described in the post. See if any of these help. As you have posted in the notebook section, when you do that a single step to cripple, also remove the battery after the computer shuts down, unplug charger, too. Then hold the power button for at least 30 seconds before feeding back.
BTW: have you tried to delete all things under the rubric of the USB in the Device Manager, then reboot to allow Windows to reinstall the USB ports?

Computer laptop G62 lights fan but without screen or full charge
My G62-a03SA does not start correctly, when I press the button to power the fan starts strong and the power and light of the Internet light, but seeing Internet remains orange turn off turning white which is usually done on start up. Then the fan stops as if she has not turned on and after 10 seconds turns very quietly running.
The lights remain the same and the screen never lights just stays black.

Hello CPlume64. I understand that you are experiencing some problems getting your computer from starting properly.
Have you noticed if the SHIFT CAPSLOCK or Numlock lights blink? If none of the two flashes then it indicate a specific problem. Thus, if one blinks then how many times it blinks?
To start working on your issue I suggest that perform you a hard reset. This forces everything to be reset and can solve a wide range of issues. Try the following.
- Turn off the laptop.
- Remove the battery and AC power.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds, three times.
- Replace the battery and AC power.
- Try to start Notepad and post the result.
I'll keep an eye out for the results of this reset. I wish you a nice day!

Computer laptop touch screen works on Windows 8
Since last week, I found that the touch screen on my laptop Lenovo Flex 2 stop and start working at random and by reading online forums on how to solve this problem, I realized that the USB input device that is normally found in the Human Interface of my device manager devices would disappear when the touch screen no longer works and will reappear when the touch screen works when I restart my computer. - Click sounds and in the playbacktab, click speakers, and then click on Properties.
- New window opens as properties of speakers, then click on improvements.
- Check volume equalization.

Computer laptop XP only works in safe mode
Until a few days ago, my laptop worked fine. With the help of XP Professional.
Now I start up, the Windows screen, then it shows a white screen. I then turn off via the power switch.
I can however boot in safe mode, but can't do much with it because almost nothing works, for example internet, backup disks.
Any ideas? I don't have XP disc as ths was all preloaded so can not try to reinstall.

HP 635 computer laptop blue screen at startup.
I have important files on this laptop and while playing music this phone randomly cuts. I turned it back on and now ot support windows 7 in a few seconds and finally crashes with a blue screen.
Then, I rebooted it and tried safe mode only to have nothing works. I tried to use ubuntu which usually works to remove the files that I need except the disk was not yet recognized until I chose to uninstall and do otherwise. I tried the recovery of windows 7 and it remains to do for some time and fails. I stuck inside another computer and for some reason any, it wouldn't start up, unless I plugged it in after that he began to start. This drive has never recognized. I finally tried new installation windows 7 as a last resort, but he then told me that it can not install the disk.
I run hp diagnostics and I get 'Hard drive failure 1.' Is it possible possible to recover my files and get a new HDD without having to pay a ton of money to get everything back?
