My laptop seems to have mouse problems lately.  It is to select things too fast for me.  It highlights all, or choose something just because I'm pointing at it, even if I click on the object.  Is there a way to fix this?  I looked threw the help, and I've been able to find how to change the appearance of my mouse.  Where should I look to fix the sensitivity that my mouse seems to have?

The controls are generally in the start menu / Control Panel / mouse.  If the options you want are not listed here, they are not available on the system.  You can try to check with the manufacturer of the mouse or the computer manufacturer (if the mouse came with it) for updated device drivers firmware or software and install it.  Restart and test the mouse in Control Panel.  You can now have new options that were not there before.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Strange mouse problem

I have a new laptop HP 8440 and I'm having a very strange mouse problem.  The point of the mouse on the screen from time to time will crawl slowly towards the top of the screen.  This occurs when you use the Touchpad mouse or when you use a USB optical mouse.  The mouse buttons remain active and navigation mouse continues to function (so I can pull the mouse down of his craawl), but he continued to creep upward.

This does not happen all the time and 'fixed' after 5 minutes of me being frustrated.  I don't think this is driver-related, but my mouse driver is 5.1.2600.0

    Any ideas?

    Hi Pappytopp,

    1. run the troubleshooter from the link below: hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows:http://support.microsoft.com/gp/hardware_device_problems

    2. also try to disable the touchpad then use the optical mouse and check the results.

    Hello, Dorian,

If you have downloaded in Internet Explorer, go to tools, click View downloads, and you'll see the directory where it has been downloaded. Not visible? Look down, in the bottom left of the word 'options', click on this and it will display the current default folder for downloads, but after writing it down, you can change it to any folder of your choice (mine is C:\__Downloads - always watch first!).

If you use another browser, go to this toolbar for browsers and search for the download folder and display it. You should find similar settings for the other locations.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • Mac Pro RAM, Audio, Bluetooth mouse problems

I recently bought an Apple factory refurbished Mac Pro (end 2013) and replaced the three-chip RAM of 4 GB with 16 GB of Crucial two chips. Everything was great for the first two weeks. Then I started having a strange audio problem. Audio would become suddenly agitated. I disconnected and reconnected the speaker output and it would start working again. Finally, unplug the unit and plug the unit has stopped working (audio would eventually just stop working completely... zero sound with or without the speaker plugged in...) and I had to restart the computer.

Then one day I noticed that only 16 GB of RAM showed up (I run own memory, so he's in my toolbar). I opened the machine and moved the two chips on the other side and when I rebooted, I got 32GB again.

Then I noticed that when the audio problem came once again (he seems to be after the computer has been for a few hours or more) my Apple bluetooth mouse would disconnect and reconnect intermittently... ONLY when the audio starts to get restless again.

I zapped the PRAM several times and now I get the 32 GB of RAM only after disconnecting the chips and MOVING them to another location, but not all the time. The audio port will begin to spoil, I reboot and I'm back to 16 GB.

So, is it bad RAM? I removed a single chip and the audio problem still happens.

Anyone have this problem? Apple Care suggested I bring it in the Apple Store, but I thought that I ask here before go this road, just in case there is a known issue.

    Thank you!!

    Rick...

To establish if it is a RAM problem, remove 16Bb sticks and replace the original 4 GB sticks.

  • HP 15-f272wm: mouse problem

I have a wireless mice for this laptop, which is recognized by the computer, and I'm wishing I didn't have to hold down the right button to do a right click (as incredibly frustrating sometimes); no solution through my own exploration and am use to customer support.

I searched and doctored many other mouse and nothing literally on a right-click settings while the right click is essential for me to use for my work, that's why, why I bought a wireless mouse. It was the only laptop that I could afford and even with wireless by mouse right click is still a real pain in the neck. The warranty is over with, so I'm stuck with this problem of mouse and have lost a lot of time because of this, please help.

    To put it short:

Is there a way to simply right click once using my wireless mouse? I must hold to get options and sometimes even that won't work.

  • Satellite A80 129 usb mouse problem

I have MS USB Intellimouse Optical. And if I connect the mouse to the first USB port (under the laptop computer right speaker), the mouse installs and then with the mouse disconnected constantly. As he works for a few seconds then disconnects and reconnects again, constantly. If I connect it to the other three USB ports, all is well. I don't want to use the other three ports for the connection of the mouse, but I want to use the primary, cause of handling convience (DVD-ram opening and limited space on my table). Also I installed the drivers for the Microsoft mouse, but the mouse plays the same.

So is this hardware or software problem?

I have WinXP Pro SP2 installed.

    Best regards, Kekec.

    Hi kekec

Is there a possibility to check this port with another external device? It will be interesting to know if there is problem using some another unit.

Anyway, in my opinion, it may be just the hardware problem.

  • Satellite L655D-12-keyboard and mouse problems

My apologies if this has developed before, but I found nothing during a search. I bought the L655 computer laptop (PSK1NE) in October with Windows 7 HP and all recently I noticed a problem more and more frequent with the mouse and keyboard that goes with the computer touchpad portable & k/b and one mouse USB k/b. The focus seems to jump around especially in IE9 when you try to type in the form. If you are not looking at the screen while typing it becomes annoying, because you look up to find that half of the sentence suddenly moved and is currently seized several lines far where you started among previous typescript. Sometimes, when you click on another window or program it seems to be inactive and no amount of click with the left button will generate any action, but by using the right button on the mouse or the Touchpad, this seems to correct the problem. Restart seems to help a bit but then the problem returns.

I have read similar problems in the United States where they have a V2 of the BIOS, even though I have the latest version of the BIOS update for Europe 1.6, it suggests that this is a problem and not unique to my laptop or adjustment. I tried to remove the battery, as he suggested, maybe that's a problem, but the problem persists.

Is there a solution for this?

    Thank you very much.
    Martin

    Hello

Your courier sporadically jumps somewhere else?
I think you want to disable the touchpad while typing!
I had a similar problem in the past, but I don't the opinion of t that I touched the surface of touchpad accidentally while typing
It is a reason why the cursor jumped on another line

  • Impossible to reset PRAM (mouse problem)

After several attempts, I don't then reset the PRAM as I usually end up on the screen of regular connection or, occationally, I go into the menu Utilities (recovery, Disk utilities etc.).

The heart of the problem is that my Magic Mouse (battery 100% "") is connected and can move the arrow around the screen; However, he does not 'click' to select an item. Potential use only what I've found is to do a reset of the PRAM, which, for me, has been easier said that done then.

I read that using a wired keyboard can work better and I will work (buy or borrow) if I need; However, this seems a bit backward engineering.

I read Apple's documentation as well as several previous posts but nothing got past this first hurdle, so:

    1. the issue of the mouse without a PRAM reset?

2 - is their way to 'force' a PRAM reset without the sequence of CMD-OPT-P-R?

It is a vanilla with no returned software/hardware iMac any change or modification, the mouse does not only work after waking, he.

The magic mouse you may have particles obstacles between you prevent of fully by clicking.

A reset of the PRAM will not affect the mouse or devices not integral to the computer. It's like the RAM to store and access data quickly for some settings.

[Cmd] + [Opt] + [P] + [R] is the only method to reset the PRAM. Make sure you are very quick to turn on the computer and press these keys right after.

It can help trying to make a (System Management Controller) SMC reset as well.

  • Mouse problems: double clicks, no answer on a touch,.

HP PS2 optical mouse on my HP Pavilion a6547c desktop computer started acting erratic.  Sometimes, it works very well, but more often then not, this does not work properly.  Most of the problems occur then that on internet (Firefox) and in a forum.  When you try to move to the next page, is not always detect the click on the symbol of the page next or page number.  When you try to go back, using the arrow at the top of Firefox, it will sometimes jump back two pages.  When you try to close a window with the X in upper-right, it will occasionally close the window, I was on that and the following on-screen.

I went into Control Panel and deleted the mouse driver.  After a reboot, I got the system and reinstall the driver for the mouse.  Still no change.

    System specs are:

Operating system: MS Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - bit SP2

    CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X 2 65nm technology Brisbane 5000 +.

You can test your computer use another mouse? From what you describe, it seems quite possible that the mouse is just. You can pick up a decent optical mouse for $10-15 of: just about anywhere. Or maybe borrow one from a friend if you want to test and make sure that it has solved the problem before you buy.

I realize a hardware problem of mouse does not explain why problems occur more often in Firefox/forums, but it's a good thing to rule out anyway.
