Computer reboot at startup guard

This summer my Mac (3.1) behaves very strange;

When I start it in the morning, it restarts (by itself) 2.3 sometimes 4 x every morning I start.

The interval varies between 10-30 min max and maybe 30 seconds.

After that, he works all day - in the evening without a hitch.

I have to admit, we were always with high humidity.

And the problem started this summer.

When that I start, I let him settle for a while, but again it restarts.

I wonder, what could cause reboot?

My guess is material...?

I plugged 4 disks from Drobo, but I do not think, they might be the problem.

  • Note the time of the next involuntary reboot. After the reboot, open the Console app in Finder > Applications > utilities and look for entries of the log at the time of reset. Suspicious message here.

Search before the journal entry that begins with BOOT_TIME since it is the first line of a startup

    Hello charrohl,

    Check and see if the system is configured to start under startup programs. Check if the system properties box is displayed at startup.
    The file is called, SYSDM.cpl.

    1. Go to start button, Control Panel, Security Center, in the left pane, open Windows Defender.

    2. Click Tools, and then click Software Explorer.

    3. In the category box, click startup programs.

    4. Select the program you want to run and then click on disable.

    5. Click Yes to confirm that you want to stop this program from running.

    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each program you want to stop to run.

    If you go in Mode safe mode and logon as a user, always make the properties page of the system at startup?
    1. reboot your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when you see the boot menu.
    2. when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
    3 log on to Windows by using the administrator account or any account of a user with administrator privileges.

    NOTE: In Safe Mode, your display system and the Bureau will look and perform differently than in Normal Mode. This is only temporary. To return the system to Normal mode, we can simply restart the computer.

    Another suggestion would be to see if you have a System Restore point before the problem started to occur.

  • Windows Vista update will not install and causes cell phone restart. Laptop will not reboot and Startup Repair cannot fix the problem.

    Windows Update tried to install 4 days now. Every time he tries it tells me it failed and trying to install in manually. He said then the laptop restarts, but it does not start. Startup Repair tells me that it cannot solve the problems.
    I don't know how to go beyond this problem, can someone help me? I have no disk Vista as it came pre-installed on my laptop. Help, please!

    If your Vista is preinstalled, ANY support for your laptop is the manufacturer of the computer, not Microsoft.

    Try this:

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h9-1100 Phoen: computer hangs during startup after installation of 970 GTX

    The problem:

    So here's the deal. I bought a new EVGA GTX 970 and installed in my office (after you have uninstalled the drivers for my old AMD GPU). When that I start it freezes on the BIOS screen. Press a button and the screen goes black; It is still frozen. Fan works in beast mode, until I turn it off.

    What I tried:

    • I checked for if sure it was well installed in the x 16 PCIE slot and connectors double checked.
    • Checked to see if my motherboard supports UEFI (it does)
    • Using another monitor using vga instead of as before display port.
    • EVGA called and suggested they updated my BIOS on HP site (I think I'm already on the latest version)?
    • Called HP and they said I have spend $250 to have a technician to work on it. (I'd rather not pay nearly as much as I paid for the card to install it if I can avoid...)
    • Remove the battery on the motherboard for 5 minutes then replace and powered with the new graphics card.

    None of these things had No effect. (with the exception of the money payer which I have not yet made). I put the old card (Radeon 7670) back in and it started late.

    I'm kind of grasping at straws at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Model: h9-1100 (A5U16AV #ABA)

    OS: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)

    Motherboard: Gigabyte 2AC8 (970 (RX980) + SB950 chipset AMD)

    Processor: AMD FX-8150 (3600,0 MHz)

    BIOS: Ang_716 (05/04/2012)

    I would like to know if there is relevant information, that I left out.

    -edit

    I tried to install the card in HP h9 1300 t friend (he also recently installed the same card) it worked fine, if the card is not defective. Then we installed his gtx 970 in my computer. Same results as before. Startup freezes on the bios screen.

    Sure that I narrowed down it to a compatibility problem with my motherboard. I ordered a new one, the ASRock 970 M Pro3 AM3 + / AM3 AMD 970 + AMD SB950 6 x SATA 6 Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard (bite). I'll post here once again with results once it arrives here in a few days. I cross my fingers.

    Hello

    The level of the BIOS of your PC is not compatible with the video BIOS in the NVIDIA GTX 970.   You need a BIOS to version 8 HP which is not displayed for your PC.

    BTW - A replacement of the card mother not HP will require a new license of Windows.

  • Computer hangs at startup

    My friend just got an old laptop Gateway given to her.  It has Windows XP installed.  It has not been used for a few years and I tried to help him get updated.  It has service pack 2 and I tried to back up the hard disk before you install Service Pack 3.  After I downloaded the backup to a flash drive, I tried to save a copy of the report of the backup, but the computer froze.  I turned it off using the power button, but whenever I try to turn it on, it starts and loads of startup programs but then crashes again.  I am good with computers but not competent with jargon or anything more than a beginner with technical questions.  We need to take it to a computer repair shop, or is there anything I can try?

    If I bought a used computer, no matter who previously owned, the first thing I have with it would be to reinstall the operating system itself. You don't know how the computer has been maintained,
    which has been improperly installed, what's missing, what virus and
    There may be spyware, etc. I would not live with someone of another errors and problems, possibility of kiddy p0rn, etc, and I would not recommend anyone else to do.
    Your choice of course, but in my opinion, you're playing with fire if you
    do not reinstall Windows properly.

  • Computer reboot several times

    Hello

    One of my friend's computer is restart several times as soon as it tries to connect to his computer... He has accidentally two anti software virus installed on his computer, and therefore, this problem exists... Please suggest me a solution...

    This may seem a stupid question, but it has enough RAM on his computer?
    If he got enough RAM for opening 1 AV program to load at startup, and it has installed 2, then the computer would not have enough RAM, and it could keep just restart.

    1 did you stop defragmentation on the drive?
    2. using Norton on another computer, were you able to remove the infected hard disk files?
    3. do you get an error at startup of the system?

    You are on the right track if your hard drive is infected with the virus. However if you try to do something else, then I think not that it is a good idea. After scanning of the hard drive, connect it to the computer problem and start insafe mode.

  • Startup Repair offline, startup guard

    This has happened so many times, got my computer, bought separate parts (custom-made, over £1200) installed windows, everything has worked well until about a month. He projected blue and then my hard drive could not be found, kept saying (the disk name: No. NAME TYPE: NTFS) it is a 1 to WD hard drive. Finally it is fixed by raising constantly.

    However, this same problem happened about 4 times now, the computer crashes, I pass to the far and same error on blue screen with the hard drive becomes "missing" or "non-detectable".

    Now, it just happened again, but this time he decided to worse, Startup Repair maintains the start even when I hit 'start windows normally', 'safe mode', ' last know good config "etc.

    Problem is the startup repair can't do anything, this is the error for the Startup Repair:

    Drive system: = (empty)

    Windows = (empty) directory

    Number of root causes = 1

    To fix I tried everything, checked cables on and more, all are inserted, tried to start in all options, kicked motherboard settings, nothing happened with no information, seized modified BIOS type of IDE RAID on AHCI, none work. I stumbed and I have no idea what goes on, anyway, its beginning to annoy me, a computer with all new and new specifications should not do this after a month. And especially should not be late with an i7 processor. Also, I noticed earlier, I keep getting loading screen instead of windows 7, windows vista, even after a fresh install, it still has windows vista startup.

    Hello

    FrostWire is a BitTorrent software or any bit torrent software can be dangerous to use that you can end up with a Malware infected computer.

    You can manage through Windows Defender startup programs.

    But if you use McAfee, Norton, AVG and MSE, etc as an Anti Virus they disable Defender, which is the best thing for them to do.

    There are a couple of other ways to manage startup programs:

    How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista

    Here's how to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista to disable some unnecessary programs that load automatically at startup. Disabling these programs will help your computer boot faster and crash less.

    http://netsquirrel.com/Msconfig/msconfig_vista.html

    Alternatively, you can use this free Autoruns program:

    This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

    Autoruns' hide signed Microsoft entries allows you to zoom in on images of automatic start of third parties who have been added to your system and it has support for looking at images of Autostart configured for other accounts configured on a system. A command-line equivalent that can display in format CSV, Autorunsc is also included in the download package.

    You may be surprised how many executables are launched automatically!

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902

    And some programs under Tools > Options give you the choice to know if they start when Windows starts, or not.

If I restarted and press F8 for boot options - Safe Mode, Safe Mode prompt command and last good all take me to a black screen.  When I put in the system restore disk (dvd) and boot on the DVD.  The loading bar files Windows fills then remains on the screen.  Then I put in the DVD of the Dell Diagnostics and boot from the DVD.  DRMK Version 8.00 loading appears and remains on the screen.  I have a proposal to solve the problem, but I would like a confirmation of my assumption.

    Hello

    Remember to make changes to the computer before the show?

    Remove all external devices connected to the computer except the mouse and keyboard, and then start the computer to check if you are able to boot.

    Method 1: I suggest that you try the system recovery option system restore and check if it solves the problem:

    What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?
