I recently did a free my Norton anti-virus update to the new version 2011. After this update my computer screen freezes like 1 or 2 times a day. It occurs normally after I put mode "Eve" and go back to using it. After about 15 to 30 seconds, it will freeze sometimes.
I don't know if it's related but I got a DEP Data Execution Prevention, pop up, but not when the screen froze. I performed a complete analysis of the system of Norton and not detected no viruses.
I wonder if this new version of Norton has problems with windows? I use my computer for e-mail and the Internet. Do not download music, games ect...
Any help would be appreciated.
On your download Norton: I had similar problems and discovered how to do a clean install by getting rid of that most completely in the control panel and task bar completely so we start with the most recent. If you do not buy on line and using the disk, Norton technicians will likely send e-mail instructions since it's their program. But read on some similar experiences I've had, it might help you.
I finally got the taskbar, moved to the bottom of the screen, but in the meantime, I downloaded a software called ParetoLogic who claimed that he could fix the taskbar, but he did all the scans and has not set something on the taskbar, so I deleted and kept following the instructions in the task bar and got moved from the task bar. Then I uninstalled the software called ParetoLogic, my office has begun to gel. I have to shut down the computer manually, so I contacted the technician on their site and they sent instructions to fetch the menus of tasks that were set to run and the record, but when I finally found the tasks, I couldn't delete them. I tried to close the Task Manager and he said that I could not close file until all dialog boxes are closed, and I could not find how to close the dialog boxes. I do not know how to find it after searching for the bar of tasks and answers questions, so I had to click on restart and shut down everything, so I probably lost some information on the way. I had a computer to lock my CD drive there are several antivirus and anti spyware software, making a few years I used McAfee more Att security program free that they have downloaded with my DSL internet. I didn't know until you have to do a clean uninstall before you try to download a newer version. The control panel will not remove or uninstall all of a program, there are always parts of it, still running in the system, and that's what happens to me today, so, maybe if clean you the old version first, then do a clean with the more recent, install which will probably do.
I use photoshop elements 12 on Macbook air and the screen freezes when I try to use the tools. Then I have to force quit if I lose my job. someone knows how to fix this?
What version of Mac OS X are you using? If the Yosemite, you will need to upgrade to 10.10.1 or higher version.
In any case, start by going in the editor preferences > general, click this button and the restart of the Editor:
I have a core duo of Satellite P200 with 2 GB of memory. Quite often, when I try to open a screen ieplorer the screen freezes and becomes white. When I look at the performance of the computer it tells me the CPU runs at 100% and physical memory to just 50%. Would be to increase the memory of 4GBhelp or is there anything else I should try?

Generally, for all OS 2 GB memory should be enough and in my opinion, an upgrade to 4 GB is necessary only if you run programs (e. g. games) they need a lot of memory.
Akuma wrote, I think that a toolbar of the software or something else is causing the high CPU usage so delete.
Also, make sure that you use a newer version of Internet Explorer.
My screen freezes for a few seconds and then it is extremely slow when I play Zuma Blitz. It has been fine for the past 4 months, I played and now for the last 2 weeks it has been giving me no trouble. Has raced many virus scans and shows that everything is fine. Did a system restore and defraged and still does not solve the problem. Help, please!
I suggest that you try the methods below to resolve this issue.
I suggest you check the event viewer to see if you can find all the papers related to the application of Zuma crashing. You will be able to find the defective module that is causing the problem.
You can check the link which will help you analyze the entries below Event Viewer:
You can also post the entry in your response if you have difficulties to find errors.
Try to reinstall the game. I suggest that you uninstall the game on your computer and try to reinstall by using Setup and check if you have the same problem.
Try to update the drivers for your video card. You can see the underside of section which will give you information on how to update the drivers:

I just got my new computer a week. I did not now, McAfee has been installed to work.
Since I've had a full year of Norton Internet Security, I downloaded and installed.
The day of the installation, while the screen was not idle, he locked the desktop icons (yahoo, msn, etc.) and the icons would not respond. So I tried the reboot task, and he just kept spinning for an hour and will not re-start. I had to unplug the computer to start again. This has happened several times in the coming days.
So I uninstalled norton and the problem disappeared.
I see now, with hindsite that McAfee has been also performed.
Anyway, the Safe Live McAfee seems to work, he wants his subscription and payment.
My question is should I just try to use McAfee, provided with the system, and try to recover my money of norton?
Or uninstall McAfee and try to get norton to work and not cause problems?
We believe that Norton would work if McAfee is completely uninstalled (which was not the case)?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused. It is a known fact that running 2 different programs of security with real-time protection can result in conflicts between them and can cause performance problems. It is therefore recommended to use the real-time protection that one at a time, but you can use everything on demand scanner/security, if you are too preoccupied with the help of a single security program. There is a removal tool in the Mcafee web site that can help you to uninstall the program completely. You can try to use it. Then download and run Norton Removal tool: http://www.norton.com/symnrt and reinstall Norton from your account. Let me know how it goes.
This week, my laptop has suffered from random screen freezes and sudden reboots. He had arrived a month ago, but it went away. Unfortunately, he's back.
It happened while I play video games, LoL, terrariums, Team Fortress 2, etc. The screen freezes in a hazy chaos or the laptop restarts automatically. I was monitoring the temperature, the virus of all, the hardware reset and nothing has worked so far.
I managed to take a picture of the most recent gel and it is what looks like on-screen:
This gel and I need to manually close the laptop. Please help me, it really starts to annoy me.
Tounsiiaa you for your attention.

Hi, I have always used Mozilla Firefox and loved it, but in recent weeks it drives me crazy. Whenever I load a Web page and I move the mouse it freezes just until I move the mouse again. If I load the page even off the coast of internet Explorer it loads immediately without moving or touching anything. I'm on the current version of 34.0 beta version update channel. I tried to use an earlier version and the same problem is there. I really want to use Firefox, but it is at the stage I want to if I have to be sitting at the computer by moving the mouse to load each page that I need. Can someone help me please.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.
All of these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

- Microsoft security scanner:
- Windows Defender:
- Spybot Search & Destroy:

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

You may need to update your video driver. Volunteer - MS - MVP - Digital Media Experience J - Notice_This is not tech support_I'm volunteer - Solutions that work for me may not work for you - * proceed at your own risk *.
I've upgraded to the latest Firefox and now an unstable program tried to revert to a version earlier but incapable of so after a few minuets to use the moitor shuts down and no signal, said he sometimes comes back on and I get a message saying that the screen reader does more
You have probably two separate problems: problems of instability and the video of Firefox.
- Set Internet Explorer or Google Chrome or other to be your default browser.
- Go to the Control Panel programs and remove/uninstall Firefox.
- Reinstall the version of Firefox for your choice.
- Download the latest video driver for your card from the manufacturer's website.
- Start in safe mode.
- Remove the video driver.
- Restart the computer as usual.
- Install the driver downloaded in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
I'm having the same problem as the fellow above, as has happened for years, I called the technical support and the answer is the same, it's a server problem. Help, please
· What internet browser do you use?
· Since when are you facing this problem?
· You have any question with the launch of MSN Favorites?
If you use Internet Explore I suggest you to reset internet explore and check if it works.
Warning: resetting the Internet Explorer settings is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings are lost and cannot be recovered.
If you have a question about MSN then the question you posted would be better suited in Windows Live Solution Center. I suggest you to send your application in the Windows Live Solution Center for better support.
Hope this helps,
MS Windows XP: when the computer is idle (but not standby, hibernation) during and hour or more, I come back to it and it is frozen, the monitor still shows open programs (or at least some that were open), the mouse works, but I can't do anything. I can't close programs, I can't go to START. Just hit reset to reset the works. The monitor is a plasma.Any ideas?
- Did you the latest changes on the computer?
- You have security software installed on the computer?
- When was the last time it was working fine?
There are many reasons for computer to freeze when idle.
You can try the following steps and check if it helps.
It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.
I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See section to learn more about how to clean boot.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
- Click Start , and then click run.
- Type msconfig , and then click OK.
The System Configuration utility dialog box appears.
- Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services , and then click OK.
- When you are prompted, click restart to restart the computer.
If the previous step fails then I suggest that you check the hard disk for errors by running the CHKDSK utility.

Recently, my computer screen freezes until I have the touch. I touch the screen I use the computer or the screen turns white and everything I type does not register on the screen. I see not the entrance until I get the screen and hold it pressed. Sometimes even if I hold the screen I can not imput to register, it will just white. Anyone know why this happens.
This happens when the displaycable is not correctly connected to the control that is located at the top of the LCD screen. I highly recommend to send your machine to a service partner in your country and let check this problem. It could also be a malfunction of the material of the screen, but not for sure.
If you want to contact the nearest service partner in your country, click here--> "http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/" then then just go to-> Support downloads & -> support-> repairs maintenance home page &-> find the nearest authorized Service provider
