  To set up a fax server

  1. Before you begin, make sure that your computer is connected to the network and you know the network address of the fax server (for example, \\mycompanyfaxserver).

  2. Click the button start , click programs, and then click Windows Fax and Scan.

  3. To use the fax mode, click fax at the bottom of the left pane.

  4. Click the Tools menu and then click Fax accounts.

  5. Click Add, and then, in the Fax Configuration Wizard, click on connect to a fax on my network server and follow the instructions.

  Check the following settings:
  In Windows Fax & scan settings, open tools/Fax and under the general tab.
  Look at the 'Fax select device".
  Your modem is listed here?
  You have the, "allowed to send and/or receive" selected?

  This setting should be checked and selected until all accounts are created.

• Internal Fax problems

  I have an internal fax modem... It was working fine until yesterday. Now, I can only send faxes, cannot receive. Also the attachments I have send with faxes are being shortened in half vertically. Any help?

  You don't say, but I guess that you have Windows 7 and use Windows Fax and Scan.

  What happened yesterday (until the problems of fax)?

  My suggestions are only the most obvious that you've probably already tried:

  1. in Windows Fax and Scan, click Tools > fax settings.  On the general tab, make sure that your modem has been selected and the box "allow the machine receive fax calls. Unless you want to manually start the receipt of the fax, also ensure that the radio button is selected for "Answer automatically after" and that a reasonable number of rings is indicated in the drop-down list.

  2. what kind of accessories do not work?  Try to save the attachment in a different format.  Also make sure that when you save an attachment that save you by using the correct paper size.

  I'm a little confused when I run Labview in another computer. The application written by my laptop already worked well. Then I package it and installed on another computer.

  The application can run in this computer as well, but the waveformchart (to display the data) could not keep time real (about 5-6 seconds of delay).

  A few tips:

  Well, I seem to be at the end of the game. I tried sons of single line of the fax to the telephone/answering machine and fax test still does not work. I turned off also error correction mode and that made no difference.

  BUT it doesn't matter because the phones and fax all seem to work very well. I sent a fax to the service HPFAXME (several times) and it worked fine and in. The answering correctly and fax catch fax calls and ignores the voice calls. If someone meets the fax call they hear 3 beeps and the line is silent. In case, answering machine or direct pick-up on any phone, the fax is correctly. I also tried the FaxZero service and it worked fine.

  So, I will be content with that, even though the fax test fails. It bothers me because I do not let "loose ends" lying around, but since I can't read the mind of the engineers who designed it, and how they expected over this configuration, which I think would be relatively common, I'm just spinning my wheels.

  I just got a laptop with a keyboard layout of the US, but there also an Alt Gr key and the symbol of the Euro on the number 5 key. On my previous (layout UK) keyboard, typing Alt GR + 5 would be the Euro symbol. The problem I have is that I can only do that if I choose to "Us International" keyboard in Windows 7. Choose normal 'US' layout results in the above key combination does not. I wonder if there is a way for me to change/edit/add a mapping keys specific to the keyboard layout of the 'US' so that I can type the Euro symbol using Alt Gr + 5.

  I don't want to use the United States - International layout, as it has all kinds of strange combinations of keys to produce special characters and they get in the way with symbols normal while programming (e.g. from the double quotes, etc.).

• Can't find instructions on how to view open tabs of distance on a properly configured computer.

  This is probably a stupid, but I can't find a way to use Firefox Sync to see the tabs open on another machine. The plugins work correctly, choose the "sync" tab is checked and I've already tried the icon on the message bar [right and left button], the menu item for the plugin on the tools, the Preferences tab and search the documentation and google... any help would be apreciated.

  In the history menu, select "Tabs on other computers", this opens a new tab containing the details of the tabs.

  You can double-click an entry in the list to open it, or control + click to select the tabs that you want to open, and then right-click and choose 'opens the selected tabs'
