Configuration installation suggestions

Existing configuration:

1 Linux server recently upgraded from 10 to more than 11. This same server took Apex installed 4.2.

1 Windows Server

DBA wanting to keep as just DB server Linux server and Windows Server basically to do things of earphone Apex.

I have a few questions:

1. What do need me configure/install on windows server? I need to install a copy of 11g just to get the Apex to run?

2. when I log in to my workspace, I want it not really noticed the local DB if necessary. How do I put it is connection so that the default schema is on the Linux server?

3. This Setup program splits for a total of six servers. Development, one for the test, a produciton with two servers each. Any question here?

4 3.2 runs on windows server today. My installation will close or should I remove it myself to turn off the listener? How can I disable it myself?

Tcheney,

The listener (or APEX remains Data Services as it is now called since version 2.0.6) didn't need to be on the same server as the database where the APEX.  There are two options.  The listener can be run in stand-alone mode (not recommended for production use) or can be deployed on an application server Java, such as Oracle GlassFish Server Open source and Oracle WebLogic server.  The first to free of charge, but the latter don't.  So, no, you do not have a separate installation of the SUMMIT on the Windows Server. You can review these options here (take a look at the Setup Guide--> download--> download from OTN and Configuration Application Express listener of Oracle Technology Network): http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/welcome.html

The listener can be run from any server as long as it can communicate with the database server where the APEX.

Let me know if it helps.

-Seth.

    Hello

    Method 1.
Let us run Disk Cleanup and then reregister the Windows Installer service and check.
    Stage I.
    a. open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type and then disk cleanup in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.
    b. in the drives list, click the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.
    (c) in the dialog box disk cleanup, on the Disk Cleanup tab, select the check boxes for the types of files that you want to remove, and then click OK.
    d. in the message that appears, click on delete files.

    Stage II.
Unregister Windows Installer and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. in the menu 'Start', click on ' execute:.»
    b. in the "Open" box type "msiexec /unreg" and then press ENTER.
    c. on the menu 'Start', click 'run '.
    d. in the "Open" box type "msiexec/regserver" and then press ENTER.

    Method 2.
At startup, there is a request pending to be updated or installed. We can perform the boot minimum troubleshooting to find this application.

His will depend on your environment - users link, etc.  No one can give you real numbers for a living.

    1. AD, DNS, DHCP - Server 2008 R2 - 2 GB RAM, 1vCPU, at least 40 GB for storage should be sufficient.

2 file/print, secondary AD- I suggest that perform you printing, archiving and the secondary DC to separate servers. See the suggestions above for plug DC VM. You could start with 4 GB and 1 or maybe 2 CPU for file server / print - all depending on the load...

3 web (MYSQL, Apache, anything heavy) - once again his will depend on your environment. A good place to start is with the requirements of application/recommendations - scale from there if necessary.  Even when databases closely tuned can monopolize all the RAM in the server.

    Hope this info helps.

    Hello

See the documentation for your PC on a full recovery of the system running and you may find that you don't need one, at least not for now. Many PC have a recovery installed on the hard drive which is accessible at boot time by a combination of keys (which varies). The Dell support site will also tell you if it is an option and what is the key combination.

If you don't need the disc or you want to get one if your hard drive fails, contact Dell, they should sell you a.

  • Configuration/installation of resistance FP-RTD-122

    How to configure a FP-RTD-122 to MAX 3.1 for playback of a 44004 thermistor Resistance(normally 2252ohms @ 25 ºC).
MAX automatically assigns to the beach-328 to 1562 f and then sends the 848 exit ºF 60ºF measured and temperature.

You must set the string attribute 'RTD Type' to the correct linearization. The module supports the 10 types of RTD linearization methods. There are 5 values for PT100 RTD linearization and 5 for PT1000 RTD. They are:
    PT100, a = 0.00375
    PT100, a = 0,00385
    PT100, a = 0.003911
    PT100, a = 0.003916
    PT100, a = 0.003920
    PT100, a = 0.003926
    Pt1000, a = 0.00375
    Pt1000, a = 0,00385
    Pt1000, a = 0.003911
    Pt1000, a = 0.003916
    Pt1000, a = 0.003920
    Pt1000, a = 0.003926

The Pt100 or Pt1000 indicates the nominal value of the RTD and the alpha value is the resistance at temperature Coefficient. If none of these options are valid for your type of thermocouple, you must set the channel of range 0 - 4000 Ohms and calculate the temperature yourself.

Thanks in advance for all the response.

What version you are implemented and what are the requirements? IF you are talking about the use of NETWORK card for 11.2.0.2 binding there is a notion of 'High availability IP' of HAIP as discussed in the chapters before installation, from high availability

http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/install.112/e22489/prelinux.htm, section 2.7.1 network hardware requirements.

In essence, using HAIP eliminates the need to use NIC bonding to provide for redundancy.

I try to install on Linux IMO. I installed Oracle 11 g DB, UCR 11.1.1.6 version, Version 10.3.5 WebLogic, Oracle SOA Suite General version 11.1.1.6. I installed OIM Version 11.1.1.6 with option to install and configure later. I was able to install successfully up to that point.

When you configure installation of the IOM by running the command in /oracle/Oracle/Middleware/Oracle_IDM1/common/bin/config.sh and moved to step of the configuration of the JDBC schema component... the page displays only the infrastructure user's email Service, SOA, GOSA MDS schema, SOA MDS schema. The wizard does not display patterns of IOM and OIM MDS. I tried several times and it does not show the schemas associated with the IOM.

  • Use the PXI-2630 terminal block in a matrix configuration?

My apologies in advance for the length of this post!

I use the PXI system with PXI-2530 switch modules, related to a series of USE with PXI-2632 (1W matrix 8 X 16) connector blocks and a PXI-4071 DMM for each switch module. My request, uses the PXI system for measurement of current and voltage external to verify and/or benefit from restraints of reliability. A requirement of the application, therefore, is that there must be a ride from DC through each USE with change of the minimum impedance as the application between its "bypass" mode switches and its mode 'measure '.

I used this Setup with connector blocks of matrix in conjunction with one of our test systems, and I am satisfied with the results. I started working with the Test System, has no easy connection to catch HAD, I needed to build a kind of interface the PXI system and a resistive faced load HAD, it was not difficult to build in the wires that attach to the Terminal screw of the 2632. He did turn into a nest of a coded son rat I did my best to keep clean and tidy in different bundles, however. Fortunately for the cable fasteners!

My next task is to use this application with system B Test, which has an interface of pines buck header with which each signal that goes to or from the DUT can be obtained. No welding or pass the wires through the openings where the designers have no intention of son to be stuffed. I intend to build a break-out Board that allows simple connections between the modules PXI and the number of Test B system which we have or will have in our laboratory. In order to simplify the configuration/installation, I want to reduce the number of connections to terminal block screw. Preferably, I would like to completely remove the screw terminals and use lever-based connections where I can't have mating of the headers. The PXI-2632 terminal blocks unfortunately use Terminal screw.

In matrix mode 8 X 16, the closing of the PXI-2530 switch kcom1, 3, 5, 7, no matter what points in the array are connected. A link between the row of right and column C is done by closing the switch corresponding to k (16R-C). I checked using the Soft Front Panel.

I also have a number of connector PXI-2630 blocks. These are intended to be used with the switch module in one of its MUX modes and include 8 banks of connections of the header 2 X 9 pins. In the the 2530 documentation and 2630, I identified that switch k-x is associated to chX output pin, ch0-15 related to the pins 1-16 from Bank 0, C16 - 31-associated pins 1-16 of Bank 1, etc.. X = 16 B + P-1. PIN 18 of each bank is used for independent MUX topology comX. Pines multiplexes sixteen seem to correspond to the sixteen columns of the matrix, with eight common lines corresponding to eight lines.

Here's what I would do, but I would like to ping the forum to see if anyone tried something similar and wisdon to share the thought:

    • Make custom cables which connect the pins 1-16 of all eight banks 2630's header with a single Ribbon connections 16 son carrying the signals emitted by the interconnected banks (poles!).

    • The custom cable bundle will also include a wire connected to the pin18 of each of the eight banks (line connections!)

    • 24 total wires in the harness will end in the header connections who will probably partner by the lines that I currently connect to each object to be measured.

    • Make additional harnesses that interface with the Test System B header pins.

    • Make a map of derivation using band Council or a similar material to provide header pins to connect the two above custom cables and allow the connection of other elements such as resistors using Terminal level.

I checked this concept using the Assembly of 176 pins four terminals, like a bunch of little pieces of wire and cable. Are there other issues that I have to configure, such as the elements of a terminal that establish physical components of the switching topologies? The bowels of the PXI-2632 provide more features than the interconnection of the sets of eight sixteen pins? The bowels of the PXI-2630 connect elements that do not allow my proposed scheme?

I appreciate the suggestions and all entries!

    Thank you

    Jeff Zola

    Hi Jeff,

First a correction to my previous post: 2632 Terminal has no reed relay protection resistors as I said earlier. The resistance that you were referring to the 2632 and those that I confused, is there to connect the columns of the switch. Resistances have a resistance value zero and act as the electrical connections. The 2632 connects columns c0 to c16, c17 c1, c2 to c18 and so on. Switch cards 2531 and 2532 have the protection relay reed on board resistors.

As for resistance in the map that protect the reed relays, they are generally very low and do not significatly affect even small tensions that pass through the switch. The resistance won't affect all currents in the map. Any effect that the resistors have on tensions will be with the precision of the switch card specifications.

Thus, to address the other issue in your post, there is no resistance in the connectors because they are not necessary.

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?
    2. are you able to login in safe mode?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try to boot to the last good known Configuration.

Using the last good known Configuration:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-last-known-good-configuration

    Method 2:

If you are not able to connect to the last good known Configuration I suggest that you try to start in safe mode and check if it helps.

    Safe mode:

How to start in safe mode in Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If you are able to start in safe mode, then I suggest to perform a restore of the system and check if it helps.

    System Restore:

Restore the system to a point when the computer was working fine.
    System Restore: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore

    Method 3:

If you are always faced with the question then I suggest to perform a repair installation and check if that helps.

Startup Repair using the Windows 7 installation disc: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7

Note: when running Startup Repair disk hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when the Startup Repair tool tries to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

Note: also, make sure that you have disconnected all external devices except the keyboard and mouse.

    Method 4:

If startup repair fails try restore the system from the windows recovery environment.

Open the menu Options on your computer system recovery and try to perform the system restore.

To do this, follow these steps.

    (a) remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer by using the power button on the computer.
    (b) do one of the following:
If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you must try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.
    (c) on the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight repair your computer and press ENTER. (If your computer is not listed as an option, then your computer doesn't understand no repair preinstalled recovery options, or your network administrator has disabled the.)
    (d) to select a keyboard layout and then click Next.
    (e) in the System Recovery Options menu, click a tool to open it.
    (f) select System Restore.

Essentially - I got the OVF template installed and running virtual machine. I have it configured with a IP address, that I can ping. I can ping my gateway from the console vShied.

Everything looks good, butif I try to https: address, the web browser just expires.

I conclude that the service does not have to connect to me.

The installation steps you follow are incorrect. Only the vShield Manager has a web console not the vShield component. The output that you shared a vShield, it doesn't have a web console.

Installation for automatic installation steps are as follows (please see the Quick Start Guide for complete installation details):

1 get the vShield and vShield Manager OVFs and import them into your inventory of vCenter.

    2. turn on the vShield Manager (not yet feed the vShield)

    3. open a console to the vShield Manager and run via the command "setup" of the Composite indicator advanced to configure its IP address/network info. This only for the vShield Manager, the automated install a part that is made from the web what UI will take care to configure the IP address of the vShields at a later stage.

    4. point your browser to the IP address of the Manager, vShield log

    5. provide the vCenter configuration, this is done from the settings & reports-> Configuration-> tab-> Server Configuration vCenter vCenter-> Commit. This will show your vCenter environment in the tree on the left side of the vShield web console Manager.

    6. from the tree on the left side, select the ESX host where you plan to install the first vShield (remember the vShield is still off at this point) and go to the tab "Install vShield" in the right pane

    7. click on "Configure installation settings" and go through the automatic installation steps. When this is done the vShield will be automatically inserted and powerered upward.

At this point, I suggest you turn off the vShield and restart the process.

  • NB200 Windows 7 custom installation

I just installed Windows 7 on my NB200 following the road such custom installation suggested by Toshiba. Once installed, I also ran the Toshiba Software Installer for Windows 7.

However, I can see the webcam installing software, or the WLAN software, I guess they must be installed separately. Looking at drivers and downloads available for the NB200 don't know what date to use as a cut-off point because I ran the Installer software, i.e. it does not install the current drivers of al or srivers up to a certain date, as is - anyone knows what he does not settle. I have had a look but can't find any documentation on what it does and what it does not install.

    Thank you very much

This looks at the very least, you'll need to install drivers to get you on the internet. Then I suggest to let Microsoft Update to install everything what they have too. I don't know the answer to your question on what drivers Toshiba moved and you need to download it manually.

    Good luck.

  • Equium A100-147: cannot install Vista because of startup configuration problem

Equium A100-147 (Windows MCE) bought compatible Vista and bought my promised copy of Vista... used Toshiba step by step DVD ROM upgrade and also updated the Bios.

Tried to load Vista Home Premium and after going through all the steps, it came with this message...
«Could not update the computer startup configuration - installation cannot go ahead «...»»

How should I proceed and what is useful to load Vista.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Considers that Howard.

    Hello

How have you tried to install vista on the laptop?
Have you tried to switch the MCE to Vista or were you running the new clean install of Vista?

In my opinion, you must perform a clean installation. Don t updated the existing MCE of Vista.
In such cases, you can join different installation problems

If you are an owner of an original MS windows XP CD try to run the console of your windows XP CD recovery.
Demarrer start from the CD at startup, and then press R to access the recovery console after loading the driver.

In the recovery console, typefixbootand then restart your laptop.
Then insert your Vista installation and restart.

    This should solve your problem.

  • Connection and configuration USB-485/2 2 son loopback

I use the NI USB-485/2 with CVI box and managed to configure the ports of two 485 in mode 4 son, connects the ports for the Loopback tests and tested by sending data a port and reception of the same data in the second.  Now I want to change the configuration 2-wire because I need to interface with equipment using 2 son so I could read on all the documents that I can find and still have confusion on the port configuration of 2-wire control and transceiver loopback connections.  I see three options of port configuration of 2-wire) 1 DTR controlled with echo, 2) DTR controlled without echo, TXRDY 3) controlled car.  I see the 'RS-485 Transceiver Control' table in the manual and quick reference but don't understand what he's trying to tell me at all.  I studied it for a long time.  There is no explanation of these three options.  So my question is what are the differences in these three and for each of these options how the port must be configured (any active Protocol communication?) and how would wire the 2 ports together to run a loopback test?

I have port configurations installation via attributes VISA for Auto 2 son with baud, num bits, stop bit, etc., and seems back successful responses.  (I used VISA only because I have not found the ComSetEscape call until I finished the above).  I connected bore - portB TX - TX and portA TX + portB TX + for the loopback test and couldn't get it to work in the short time that I tested.  It seems that the data passes but never gets received.  I use the VISA entry and read functions.

Tom, this paper addresses a bit more on the different modes: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/E905D94CF3C0601D862565EF004D5D7F . In addition, we have several examples and walk through on the way to a 2-wire loopback test using 485. Have you tried to use one of these examples?

  • Installation and stop, but nothing moved?

    Hello

Yesterday, 03/06/2010, I noticed a shutdown option and install updates in my Start menu, with the shield icon and everything, so I did.  I restarted, and the icon and the option are still there.  I rebooted since then and stop several times today and nothing installs.

The user interface is buggy?  Or am I just cannot install the update for some reason any?  I checked the necessary updates and is the only update I have installed Silverlight.

I use Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  And have also run VS and Malware scans and nothing turns upward.

    Thank you!
