configuration of the broker executing the primary instance on pfile

Hello

I have a primary production on the RAC 1 node and node 2. Node 1 race on pfile and spfile 2 operation node. We are not able to switch the node 1 to spfile until the next maintenance period.
I have the Dataguard on non-RAC and ASM.
Now, even with the node Configuration the configuration of the Broker / 1 running on pfile, can I go ahead.
For the moment because I have node on pfile 1, I did not put the broker configuration and I only put the DataGuard
ALTER database recover managed standby database disconnect;
and not in real time with current logfile, and disconnector
LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 = "service = afcp1 ARCH ASYNC NOAFFIRM valid_for = (online_logfile, primary_role)'"

My question is with node 1 of pfile, can I still go ahead and set up the configuration of broker as well as make real-time
alter database recover managed standby database current logfile disconnect;
and...
LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 = "service = afcp1 LGWR ASYNC NOAFFIRM valid_for = (online_logfile, primary_role)'"

Can someone help me understand.

Thanks in advance.

You cannot configure the Data Guard Broker until all RAC instances use the same SPFILE. And the broker configuration files should be visible through the RAC as well. (You cannot have copies the files to the broker for all RAC). So until you get them all on the SPFILE, you need to configure Data Guard using SQLPlus according to the manual. You have to just be careful and make sure that Data Guard settings are exactly the same on both primary RAC nodes.

    IT would be difficult to debug, better you trigger SR in support to verify the code. Good thing is you know again sleep exists, so why worry.

    You can ignore it.

  • Hello! If you are using an airport extreme and an Airport Express, which must be configured as the primary Base Station?

    I like to keep my extreme in my apartment (which doesn't have an Ethernet port) for reasons of flight. Any tips?

    Given these choices, I would say that you use the extreme as your primary access point.

    However, your comment about no Ethernet port to your apartment. In order to use a base station as your main router, it must be connected to a modem that provides an Ethernet port.

  • JumpStartKit installation hangs at 87% complete when creating the database / instance configuration

    Hello people, I am wanting to evaluate Oracle WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 (huge improvement over 11.1.1.7, which I have already given a quick test in the VDI provided by Oracle).

    So, I've discovered this Jump Start Kit that installs every needed part once you have a properly configured Linux environment. I had fun with the prereqs but now that everything is finished and I am so EXCITED to make it past 'STAGE 4 '.

    So now, I encounter the same problem during installation - STEP 6 of 22 Configuration of the database Instance (creating database filling) it gets 87% complete and then nothing seems to happen, it never beyond this point, even if I wait 10 hours more:

    ***

    NOTE: I think that my problem is not specific to the "Jump Start Kit", but is rather something others have met during the stage of creation/configuration of the Oracle Universal Installer in general database. And I hope that others have solved.

    "/ opt/oracle/portal" is my INSTALL_DIR; I had started the installer of JSK with this command:

    . / runme INSTANCE_PASSWORD textile ROOT_PASSWORD = rpwd DOWNLOAD_DIR = = / media/sf_Downloads/JSKfiles INSTALL_DIR = / opt/oracle/portal

    -L' installer makes this well before it seems to get "stuck" - even after many hours there is no change, HD does nothing, CPU stays at < 5% use:

    I use VirtualBox on Windows 7, I tried several times, first with the OS as Oracle Linux 6, then Oracle Linux 5 (learning to update the version of Java of fun!).

    It always happens at the same point, and then it just seems do nothing - no progress, but no error no message on the screen (see below the log files). But it seems to use less than 5%... the use of the processor and 10 hours of waiting makes no difference.

    After that I got tons of Google to search, I tried increasing my paging file, adding more memory and disk space (12 GB of RAM and 10 GB sap) and 20 GB of free space on the hard disk, but still nothing has changed.

    In post #2 of this thread, I'll give you separately the registration details that I hope will be useful.

    Thanks in advance!

    Darren.

    PS: Moderator, I tried to create this thread in other spaces, because I did not know this 'Portal JSK' specific one, which is why my son was rejected? NO REASON WAS GIVEN. If that IS the reason why, I must say that it will be almost impossible for anyone who is able to help me actually FIND this thread here because as I said I don't think specific for ONLY JSK portal. (But I'll post it here just in case this is the reason for previous releases)

    Hey Darren -.

    Installation with installation "office" is not the problem - no conflicting package it.

    I did add a short and FULL in/etc/hosts domain name and use the HTTP_SERVER_NAME option.  (But again, that shouldn't cause any problems during dbca.)

    I didn't install VBox extensions, since I'm just using a text installation (and created a corresponding configuration for VBox and vSphere), but I don't know that this is unrelated to all the.

    Regarding packages, if the database installs fine (which did you), your packages may very well.

    Here is my kickstart file - maybe you can try to use it, and then we can rule out configuration problems.  After the kickstart, everything I do is copy the installation files (in fact, I have them on a separate vmdk I just ride), and:

    (in oracle)

    CD/mnt/orainst/install & mkdir WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x 86-64 & WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x 86-64 cd & unzip /WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x86-64.zip...

    CD /mnt/orainst/install/WCPortal_JSK_Linux.x86-64 &. / runme DOWNLOAD_DIR = / mnt/orainst/installation INSTALL_DIR = / u01/app/oracle/product/webcenter HTTP_SERVER_NAME = wcportal.localdomain INSTANCE_PASSWORD = weblogic1 BIENVENUE1 = ROOT_PASSWORD

    If you want to make a desktop installation, delete the text, skipx and office packages (I added a few comments around that part), and it should work fine.  Don't worry about VBox extensions until you have a JSK running successfully.

    Fingers crossed it gets you more... Let me know.

  • LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 parameter error and cannot start the primary database

    Hello
    I was getting errors in my RMAN backup script. I took a glance on the database settings. Looks like I made a mistake when I was in the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 setting in the standby database. Instead of putting on the eve I put it in the name of the primary instance. I also noticed that the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 setting has been changed in the primary database where I put it first. I guess he's changed when I changed the sleep setting. I have two questions:

    (1) can the parameter LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 be changes for the correct setting now that I set it wrong. The reason why I ask is because when I tried to change by using the following ALTER SYSTEM command I got an error saying something about conflicting attributes. I guess it's because the name of the primary instance has been upgraded with the DB_UNIQUE_NAME instead of the name of the standby instance. If I could change the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 setting to sleep first then maybe I can change the primary to the correct setting? Please provide markets.

    ALTER SYSTEM SET LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 ='SERVICE = < DB PRIMARY > ASYNC VALID_FOR =(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = < PRIMARY_INSTANCE > '

    (2) the second question is you can start a database using a spfile? (I use ASM and Data Guard) I ask because while I was connected to the primary database I executed the following command:

    ALTER SYSTEM SET LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 = 'SERVICE = < PRIMARY_INSTANCE > ASYNC VALID_FOR =(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = < PRIMARY_INSTANCE >' scope = spfile;

    I then stop the database and try to start but it won't start because it says to conflicting attributes. I don't create a pfile from spfile file before you shut down the database. (I'm bad). How can I change the setting for the primary database to start over. (The PFILE file is different in ASM. There are sub + DATA but has only a single line indicating where is the location of the SPFILE) I need to run the following RMAN RESTORE CONTROLFILE FROM backup AUTOMATIC;

    Please help as it is a production environment that was supposed to be delivered only yesterday.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Remove the primary archive logs

    DB version: 11.2
    Platform: Solaris

    In standby, the following is returned:
    select max(sequence#) from v$archived_log where applied='YES';

    28427
    This means that since elementary school, I can safely remove all the newspapers at least up the 28426 sequence using archiving
    delete noprompt archivelog until sequence = 28426 ;
    Right?

    You can do it like that if you want.

    I would like to use RMAN to do and put RMAN, so he can't delete logs not applied.

    Inside my RMAN backup, I added:

    delete noprompt ARCHIVELOG until TIME ' SYSDATE-4';

    Your default is probably

    CONFIGURE THE NONE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY;

    But you can set applied pending

  • Update the Configuration of the switch switch 2.1 Executive to 3.5

    Hello world

    I tried the switch 2.1 update Executive to 3.5 and have known, that my configurations have stoppped working. To me, it looks like 3.5 dislikes my IVI configuration for switching modules.

    The function check in MAX tells me that the PXI cards are not available. The first page of the configuration of the switch shows no configuration / terminal blocks.

    Because the configuration consists of nine matrix with lots of report cards, I would really appreciate a way to properly import the old configurations (xml files are available)

    Any ideas?

    See you soon

    Oli

    Hi Oli,

    Yes, there was a major change in the Switch Executive 3.5 - it now uses for switching NI DAQmx calls material. There is a KB document the upgrade process a simulated configuration from an earlier version, but of course, you can try the steps that make sense, too:

    Import of NI Switch Executive 3.0 and previous virtual devices in OR Switch Executive 3.5 and later versions

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/1D1099A85B156FA68625778500787444

    However, I have noticed that the KB Editor uses a configuration file to .txt instead of the .xml you have. I see two options here: first of all, if you have even an operating system with Switch Executive 2.1, you could probably export settings in the form of text or you can try to modify the .xml file manually to resemble the layout of the text (probably a lot of work, you would have to learn the structure of the text by trial and error using newly created Switch E.g. 3.5 configurations...)

    Best regards

  • configuration of the integration broker

    could someone please help me understand how to configure integration broker between two peoplesoft applications and how it works?

    If you look at the peoplebooks bound Nicolas I think there it details well enough, but here are some things to consider in my experience and how I could explain it to someone... it's maybe not as technically correct as it should, but is more designed to help you understand the concepts.

    Think of remote nodes like "destination definitions."
    Think bridges as a "gateway to a destination.
    Think as the gateways connectors is the code for 'to connect to the destination.

    Then starting at the top...
    A service operation of East message we want to send from Point A to Point B
    the service operation has a routing... Which destinations it comes, goes and his leadership. for example, these are configured by setting the routing from the node A to node B, out . Node B is a remote node. Without him, how else tell us the system where to send the message. It is remote, because it is an external system.

    Because the methods of connection or connectors are programmed at the level of the Bridge , we associate the node with a gateway and a Connector on the connectors of the node definition page tab. In peoplesoft for peoplesoft, we use the PSFTTARGET connector that can be defined on either a local or a remote Gateway.

    the best way for me to help you differentiate the gateways remote vs local is to think of bridges like this. A local gateway can be a bridge whose local node of this particular PeopleSoft system defined in him and whose configuration of the appropriate connectivity (he knows how to deliver incoming messages directly to our application server processes). A remote gateway is one that does not have the local node specified in its files gateway.properties and therefor can not connect to us directly. It may be behind a firewall to another place, but a local node of the destination set and is the local gateway for this destination system.

    On a side note, changing the type of Connector changes how we configure things.
    Connector PSFTTARGET to ensure that the node is referenced in the gateway.properties file.
    for a HTTPTARGET connector put us nothing in the file gateway.properties, instead, the connector on the node tab will allow us to specify a URL it is recorded in the database on the definition of the node.

    We have the remote nodes to define our destination point
    our node needs a gateway because it is where the connectors
    the connector is programming for managing this type of connection selected (you can write your own connector, there is a developer for him kit)
    and an entry door can be local or remote to a PeopleSoft system based on nodes who knows the bridge itself.

  • Primary database is RAC and physical intelligence is the single instance

    Hi all

    I use Oracle RAC 11.2.0.3 as primary database, we will begin to use the Oracle Data Guard.
    I am designing my infrastructure and planing to use single instance Oracle 11.2.0.3 my stand physical database.

    My question is it possible to have my sleep as single instance database while the primary is RAC?
    is it possible to build my Oracle database single instance ensures from the primary database to the RAC, RMAN backup?
    Are there restrictions (or all of the points to consider) as my primary database is CARS while the physics of Eve is the only Oracle instance?

    in the link below
    [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28294/concepts.htm#i1039416]
    It was mentioned that primary can be CARS or simple and even the day before, but my question is possible to have primary as CARS all on standby as single instance? or it should be like each other?
    The primary database can be either a single-instance Oracle database or an Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) database.
    Similar to a primary database, a standby database can be either a single-instance Oracle database or an Oracle RAC database.
    Kind regards

  • R12: Copy a group of companies with configurations, metadata and data in the same instance of OA

    The idea was born to a very common condition between the companies IT. pre-sales and pro-ventes groups do various tasks, including the response of the RPF/RFI, PoC, building, Solution architecture, customer demo etc. Ususally they do not have the dedicated application instances, or rather they do not find a sufficient number of cases of applications dedicated to deep study of the road. Every other day a group cries out for an Apps instance and the same gets lift for senior management in short time. It gives a lot of pain to the infrastructure/DBA groups because they fail to meet people like them, due to the limited availability of free nodes, resources, networks and space etc.

    I have a Vision of the R12.1.3 (tell SID = VIS1213) installed on a Linux machine. The box is quite busy with his hearts limited, showing little free memory and the attached SAN has insufficient free space remaining. A group of Oracle Apps pre-sales consultants, says "Group 1", is the use of this.»

    Now the 3 other groups are asking for a R12.1.3 Vision instance separately for different reasons below. Each of them wants the instance again and do not share with others.

    Group 2 for deep study of the road against a critical response to RFP
    Group-3 for the development of a point of contact for a customer demo
    Group 4 for the manufacture of PUK media on some business processes

    In this scenario, I should install 3 distinct Vision of R12.1.3 (using CDs or downloaded zip) or clone VIS1213 in 3 different places with different SIDS, possibly on one or more separated nodes (as above Linux node has insufficient free resources). In this case, the need for available server resources and disk space multiplied by 3, so that DBA maintenance for these 3 new instances is added.

    Hope that I have clear air up to this point.

    Then I was thinking if we have "virtual instances" within an existing instance of Apps, by copying from a vertain org level. First I thought I'd take THE level, but it will not work if an instance of group to work with HRMS claims. We must therefore take business group level. After that we will create the appropriate role and responsibility, user profile options so that the new user can see and work on the new BG and data area down only. It will be like a separate instance to use.
    Benefits of my desired task will be

    -no separate server resource, the required network
    -no additional DBA not involved maintenance
    -no separate required backup plan

    So here it is to create 3 new "virtual instances" right within the same instance of VIS1213. New groups will have same URL, same existing TNS details but 3 credentials different existing access. Each of them would be limited in a way so that they can not see each and other data and can not hurt each and other changes.

    This can be achieved if we can copy an existing group of its activities with org structures, metadata and data, within the same instance. Oralce planning cannot be copied within the same instance configurations.

    What I've done so far was I manually created a new BG, attached an existing sobbing (CoA, Agenda / currency), created a new, copied and modified accounting structure flexfields before fixing, created the new ORGANIZATIONAL unit, and then a new InvOrg of master and a new InvOrg clild, defined the profile MO some GL and HR profiles. Then I extracted finished master and data assignment article category Masters against a master/child existing InvOrg, updated the data for newly created InvOrgs, inserted into tables insterface and ran seeded import conc program element. Except for a few, all data have been loaded into base against new InvOrgs tables.

    Then I tried with master provider (with sites and contacts). A few AP configurations are required, and then data provider (+ contact + site) have been loaded against OR newly created (under new BG) base tables.

    I do not proceed after that. I'm currently looking for ideas from the experts on how to go further.

    Planning is able to create this kind of 'virtual instance' within the same instance of OSTEOARTHRITIS?

    PL nowadays return.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • IOS XR. When absolute refpoint is created in the primary persistent configuration file?

    Hi all

    Can someone help me understand during the creation of the absolute refpoint and what determines that a certain place in the persistent configuration file becomes an absolute refpoint?

    The foundations of the IOS XR States that 'an absolute refpoint is the configuration of the router at any given time. Engage
    "refpoints are the files of different validation that are created for each commit. But at what point? I would like to know that in the case for example to do a restore to find out where my absolute point (namely the IOS will be restored when starting) vary his place in the persistent config or not?

    Thank you!

    Hello vadym,.

    feels to me that it is a little more complex way to explain the validation database in this book.

    every time a commit is done, the configuration of this set is stored as an id validation (or label if provided). This gives then a check point in time which allows you to return to for example.

    the validation database can contain 100 changes.

    the complete configuration is always available at sysdb. (the database system).

    Cheers!

  • AutoStart DB in the configuration of the DG

    We have an active standby protected by Data guard configuration runs 10 gr 2 (10.2.0.5) with an observer running the 3rd knot fast failover and reverse the roles, so active fails. The passage is all automated via an active observer and monitoring database backup. If we auto-start the DBs automatically after an event saying that all 3 nodes are down (active, pending and observer) because of failure. How to make this work. I thought db Startup button to check the role and bring up DB accordingly. Or is there a better way to do it? Is there any involvement in this process.

    BTW, the database unique instance are not supported by the ASM. in any case, the automatic restart function was part of 11g.

    Thank you
    Stalin

    The observer has nothing to do with starting a database or starting the services apply on standby. This is the analysis of a fast failover configuration.

    On a database that is currently the primary role a STARTUP will open the database read/write.

    On a database that is currently in the Standby role a STARTUP will open the database read-only if it is a physical standby and read/write so it is a logical expectation.

    Broker (a set of background processes running on each database in the configuration) automatically starts the services to apply it to the database if it is a standby mode.

    For a physical standby in 10g starting the services to apply will close the standby database automatically return to the State of the MOUNT.

    The observer when it is restarted to focus on the primary time and waiting for the target and start monitoring.

  • Cannot replicate from the primary to the secondary servers ACS

    I have a primary ACS server and secondary and trying to replicate the primary database to the secondary.  When I do, the seconary reports 'inbound replication of database of ACS '' denied - shared secret mismatch. "  I believe that this refers to the shared secret, as I walked to the encryption of the database during installation.  Is it possible to change this secret shared without having to reinstall?  (Note that this isn't the key to AAA listed for itself in the Network Configuration).

    Version is 4.1 on Windows Server 2003.

    What version of acs do you use, and it is in fact the shared secret for the AAA servers and not the shared secret for the encryption of the database. There is a known bug, if you look at the free entry on the two instances of the acs is either one of them shows a loopback address and not the real ip address? If Yes, then you hit the bug I mentioned. The best way to solve it is to access the console as and change the ip address (for example to enable the dhcp pull an ip address and let the services restart). Then go back into the box and assign the static ip address you used. Services once to return to verify that the entered car now has the correct ip address (physical and not looping) and test your replication again.

    Thank you
