Configuration wireless router 891w

Hi, looking for a wireless setup procedure part of 891w router - tried to follow the installation wizard and is stuck in access to interface BVI. The web page is open by clicking on the link in the present installation wizard only the button 'Enter' and it is.

Could someone provide me with links to config info so that I can configure wifi using the good old CLI.

Thanks in advance.

I upgraded the IOS AP to ap801-k9w7 - tar.124 - 21A .JY, that solved the problem.

Thanks again!

Hello.  I have a WRT54G Router that I've used over the years, because my former cable provider provided me with the router.  I recently switched to cable operators & they do not provide a wireless routers.  I would use my WRT54G Router, but I don't have the cd.  I thought that it wasn't a problem because I can just do a manual installation using the 192.168.1.1 ip address.  I get the pop up window to enter user name & password.  I followed the instructions & just type in the word admin password field & l left the user name empty, but it does not work.  Can someone please?  I know that I can solve this problem.  It is not sensible to spend money for another router when this can be a simple solution.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Press and hold the reset on the back for 30 seconds and then release.  Wait 10 seconds and power cycle.  Now, try again.

You will need to go to the menu on the printer control panel and then go to the section wireless/network to change. Sorry for the general response, but without specific identification of your printer I can't advise you with precisely where in the menu to go.

Thanks for posting the p/n. look on the lower back/side/tray of your printer.

It is possible that the Automatic Configuration Windows wireless service is not configured to run at startup.
    Try the following:
    1. click on Start and run
    2. type in the box to run services.msc
3 scroll down and look for the Automatic Wireless Configuration service
    4. double-click on the service and make sure that the Startup Type is set to Automatic

Let me know if it works for you!

  • Configure the router Cisco E2000 wireless for my laptop HP with Vista, I can't work.

Configure the router Cisco E2000 wireless for my laptop HP with Vista, I can't work.  I spoke with Cisco and they said that my Atheros AR5007 adapter does not work with Cisco E2000 and contact my computer vendor

    Hello

HM... I guess that the Cisco people know what they're taking everything. The AR5005 is a b/g card and there should be a good reason to not work with a router that is able (the E2000 is able g) g.

This is HP drivers for the card, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ob-55737-1

If you can't make it work, you must decide between a new card or another router.

Personally, if it's new and I could return it, I'd get a different router model. But YMMV

My Deskjet 3050 series J611j was ooriginally configured with Mac OS Snow Leopard. I have since installed Lion (10.7.3). I inadvertently reset the default printer and it stopped connecting with the wireless router.  I installed the new software HP Lion but when I go through the installation, after that I tell the printer to connect to the router, I get a message saying that the device is not connected to the computer and connect with a USB connection. But it is connected with a USB cable.

I fixed it by pulling on an old PC and launch the CD. Who got up the printer on the wireless. from there, I could finish and connect with the Mac.  Thank you.

  • Wireless router is disconnected from the PC (s) during the use of Firefox 37.0.1

This problem occurred for the last 2 weeks whenever I use Firefox on each of the 2 PC's I use it every day. The problem may occur a few minutes after the start of Firefox, or it may be hours of continuous use before the connection is lost. It's okay if I'm in Firefox by itself or have the background applications running, but without a doubt requires Firefox runs before I see a problem.

Configuration: WIN 8.1 and VISTA 64. the two latest updates.
LAN: cable modem and Belkin wireless router; together with the latest firmware.
Firefox v37.0.1 without add-ins or modules. Start page is 'empty '.

    Symptoms:
Status bar Windows shows that I'm disconnected from the router.
Router and the modem status LED shows that I am connected to the internet. Same thing for the VICTORY of the network status app. It shows no connection to router.

The problem can be temporarily fixed by power cycling the router. Or, in the meantime just a random delay the connection may (or may not) be restored on its own.

I also use a standalone PC application that streams the text given in short bursts and runs all day (no video or music... just short lines of text) with no problems until I launch Firefox in the background. Then he can go a few hours before the connection to the router is lost. I also often watch videos on my Tablet without the router problems. While typing in this issue on a PC I was disconnected from my router. I'm hoping to get some suggestions as to what to inspect or modify. Thank you!

Fred, I had to leave the House early this morning and had no time to dig a cable long enough to reach my modem to try your suggestion. But, what I did was half of your suggestion. I pushed the reset bit recessed on the modem and left the House around 08:30 with Firefox running on both computers. Seven hours later everything is normal. No router disconnects and I gave a very good workout system.

I have also now initial notice that connects to the web sites are faster.

It is obviously a logical explanation for what was going on, but to an outside observer (), I see absolutely no logical link to the 'solution' for the rest of the universe. I won't lose sleep on. And I'm going to ask you more specifically when the next puzzle problem occurs! Thank you, Fred!

    doc78 wrote: Kindle Touch

Hello doc78, I checked out the Kindle Touch and the show of specifications:

    Wi - Built-in Fi:
Connect to Wi - Fi hotspots at home or on the go. Includes free access to Wi - Fi hotspots AT & T through the United States.

The specifications did not show the version of the wireless device. It could be the published versions to date, version A, B, G or N.

As you have found a new wireless router, I suggest to get the N version, since it is the most recent and sends and receives a greater distance and speed than the versions A, B and G.

The Kindle Touch maybe not the wireless version N device, but would still be retro-compatible with the version N router, but only at speeds of wireless Kindle Touch device.

Router purchase N version assure you that you have later, right now, for future updates wireless.

  • A wireless router, without a modem?

    Hello HP Support Forums users,

I have a question about setting up a wireless router. I was wondering if it was possible to put in place, without going through a modem. Currently, I connect to the internet by plugging a cable Ethernet, CAT5 port on my wall, and then plug the cable on the side of my laptop. Yes, simply plug the CAT5 Ethernet cable into the WAN or Internet port on the wireless router.  That's what Verizon for their FIOS service.

It is possible to configure the wireless ap/bridge G router and connect it with a cable ethernet for the BDV-E370?

I am answering my own question.
    It is possible.
I loaded the dd - wrt firmware on both routers and I configured the router that is connected to the Sony Reader as a client bridge or Repeater (acts as an Extender of signal with half of the speed + wap).
YouTube is a very good video on dd - wrt Repeater bridge Setup.
    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=UD-Hq3kgvk4
I had a router Belkin F5D7231-4, but I've upgraded to a router n, Linksys E2000, which is the Repeater on 5 GHz bridge (main router is a Linksys WRT610n-v2). Both work very well.
I bought the rebuilt a little more than for ($65+$ 32) then the Sony usb adapter, but at the same time, I upgraded my network 2.4 ghz + 5 ghz n too. So basically I have two simultaneous networs in my house.
If you use only a router that you add to your existing wireless network, it is much cheaper then buying the Sony adapter and at the same time that you can extend your wireless signal too.

  • Need help to connect the old Windows XP to new wireless router, please

The problem is probably that the Linksys E1200 is a wireless-N Router and your former Office no doubt has a wireless adapter that is only capable of wireless-G (or perhaps Wireless G and B).

Are adapters wireless in your other computers wireless - n?  If so, it perhaps is the reason why they could not connect to your old G of Netgear wireless router.

You can get a new wireless-N for the office adapter or configure the E1200 wireless g available.

  • Working Group stopped after the installation of the new wireless router

My working group stopped working after the installation of the new wireless router.  Router was switched were to move from DSL to fiber optic.

I have a very simple home with two laptops working group, the two are connected with a wireless router.  A PC is running XP with the updates and service packs; the other PC is Windows 7 Home premium.  This working group was running without problems for a few years.  The Working Group has been used to share files between two laptops.  Internet access was through the DSL wireless router and print was with a wireless printer, without going through the working group.

I had my DSL set out to free fiber optic last week, which meant that a new wireless router has been installed by my local phone company.  Internet works fine; wireless printer works.  The working group no longer works.  When I try to connect from XP to Win7 and I click on mode workgroup computers, I get this message:

WorkGroupName is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network path was not found.

I tried to create a new working group, the new name for the same workgroup on both machines, but this did not help.  Working groups are supposed to be simple; This seems to be a problem on the new router - telco tech support says that nothing is stuck on the router. I don't believe them.

What version of XP you use (Home or Pro)?

Can you access the Win 7 a XP computer?

You have identical accounts, passwords on both computers?

If all that was done was to change routers without making any changes on the computers, the most likely cause of the problem is a third party (other than Windows) firewall on at least one of the computers.  Being by default, a router automatically assigns IP addresses to computers on your local network.  Different brands of routers, but use different address ranges.  For example, Cisco/Linksys routers typically use the 192.168 form addresses. 1.1 with 192.168. 1. 254, while the D-Link routers typically use 192.168.1 to 192.168.0.0. 254.  A firewall configured to allow only the first IP range blocks communication to the scope of the latter.

So... What is the name and version of your anti-virus program?
What other security software is installed?

On every laptop computer, open a command prompt window
for XP: start > run > cmd > OK
for Win 7: type cmd.exe in the search box and press enter
In the black command prompt window, type the following command and press enter
    ipconfig

Please provide the values for the following for the adapter wireless of each computer
    IP (XP)
    IPv4 address (Win 7)
    Default gateway
