Connect a headset on Windows 7

Is it possible that I can connect a headset on my Windows 7 computer? I don't have 3 ports available, line-in, line-out and microphone. The problem is that my helmet combines Audio and Microphone on the slot 1. I tried all 3 of them, none of them don't record, the line of those they give audio well.

Thanks in advance

Headsets made usually for PC use have two plugs - that of the microphone and one for the line out.   You may be using a headset the maee for a phone?  These have the same size plug but combine the mic and released as a single.   PC headsets are inexpensive.

There is also an adapter made for that, but it costs as much if not more than a PC headset.
