Connecting to a hdmi TV

I tried different ways, some I looked upwards, when I connect my xps 8300 to my LED TV with hdmi cable, I can't do set up correctly and there is no

sounds coming from the tv. I tried all the settings that has been suggested. does anyone have a simple explanation and straight on how I can get it

to work?

Thank you.

After you are connected by HDMI, right click on the "speaker" icon and select the playback devices. Then set the HDMI connection and make it the default. Now, you'll get audio. Turn the tide to get audio to the computer.

I don't know why this cannot be done automatically, but it isn't.

    Hi Ashley... B,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

Which version of Windows Vista is installed on your computer?

    1. first you need a video cable to make the physical connection. For a better image quality, you must connect to the computer to the TV using standard VGA ports or via DVI to HDMI cable provided your TV supports these ports.
    2. open the "display settings" in your Vista computer and activate the output to the TV screen. You can reflect the content of your computer on the TV or extend the display as a double screen control.
    3. pick up your TV remote and switch to "External inputs" in the menu. You need to change the value by default "Video 1" to a different selection which may be "HDMI 1" or "video 2" depending on how you made the connection. "
Important: Make sure you connect the cable to the TV before turning on the computer, because sometimes it may not recognize the external display.
You may also change the resolution of your TV screen using the display settings in your panel of control remains the image may appear distorted.

  • connecting to a hdmi TV, laptop detects but tv says 'no signal '.

I have a HP G60-445DX with nvidia 8200 M G. I graphics card had been using HDMI to connect to my tv all the time, but when I updated the driver for a day it stopped completely working... now whenever I plug the cable HDMI to my laptop, the screen turns white and I hear the sound it makes when it detects a device , but television shows nothing, then when I unplug it because nothing happens I hear noise when you remove a device, but the screen stays blank and I have to restart to access the computer. Once I hit fn + f4 for connecting the projector and duplicate selected, so when I pluged in tv, he did not have the screen turned off but is still 'no signal' on tv, when I open the nvidia Control Panel and looked in "set up several screens", the TV was listed it there...
I tried to connect via HDMI on different TVs AND using different cables... no luck... which leads me to think that it is the graphics driver.

I've updated my player to 306.97 version so I tried switching with an older version (285.62), but still no luck... is there anywhere I can get an older driver?
I got to 2008 and never put computer to update the graphics driver until recently this year... but the older drivers that I see are 2011

    Thank you!!

  • Computer DV7-1825dx laptop screen turns off at least connected to the HDMI

I have a Pavilion dv7-1825dx running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  The other day, I simply closed the laptop into hibernation.  At the time, it was only connected to a printer and a wireless mouse.  The next day, I opened the laptop and it turned on but the screen stays off.  I shut down the computer by holding the power button and then turned back on.  The screen appeared and asked me if I wanted to start Windows normally.  Then, I got the loading screen for Windows.  As soon as he was done loading, the screen turns off and the chime sounded for the login screen.  I repeated again than having the same problem.  I typed my password, but the screen stays off.  Because I often hang my computer to our TV via HDMI, I thought I would try it, and that is, both screens lit.  I then disconnected the HDMI cable and the computer screen exploded again.  Plugged into the HDMI and activated.  I went into options for NVIDIA and noticed that there is an analog display with the screen of television and laptop (up to three screens on the list).  I restarted in safe mode, and the screen of the laptop works great.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?  That I can not connect my laptop to the TV whenever I want to use.

    Thank you advance!

Save the driver on the desktop and install it from there, not in a temporary folder.

Create a Windows restore point before starting.

During the installation of the new driver, click on "Custom" and there will be a link to uninstall the old drivers and all of your current settings, this before you install the new driver.

  • Computer does not connect to Tv (HDMI)

I would like to watch movies and tv on my tv through my computer shows. I used an HDMI input to connect to my tv and the sound worked for a while. But the other day I had to scoot my computer and I unplugged the cable hdmi from my computer while it was on and I plugged it in and it doesn't work anymore. I had already used the Panel to try to get two moniters back (my computer and my tv), but it would recognize my TV what should I do?

Some video cards need to connect to the TV through the monitor settings (multiple). Until you do this, the TV signal cannot be routed on the HDMI output.
With the card nVidia, for example, you use the nVidia Control Panel (right click on the desktop and then nVidia Control Panel) to set your PC screen and your TV screen, if both should show the same (aka clone setting), independent or used to extend office. This setting usually remains for as long as the PC is not rebooted, even when the TV is off. If the computer is restarted, you have to redo the settings of the TV. The TV out video card detection varies also from TV to TV. Some cannot be detected unless the position is an HDMI port, while others (in the minority, I think) can detect regardless of their settings AV. It is perhaps also dependent on the video card, but my observation is based on at least 3 different models of nVidia graphics cards.

To confirm that your TV HDMI input port is OK, if you can, try with another TV HDMI input. The TV HDMI input ports seem to be notoriously little reliable and they can fail. One of my friends had a similar problem and had his TV and was replaced for free by describing the problem HDMI all in a few months, out of warranty. You makes you ask why the manufacturer was so eager to replace (but no complaints for the good gesture!). This may not affect you, but the HDMI port on all LCD TVs is a relatively new gadget and not well tested over time for reliability in various usage scenarios and could be the weak link between a computer and digital television.

  • UZ2315H connection to a HDMI video card?

Hi, new to the forum and need help with a problem.  I inherited monitor Dell UZ2315H of my wife (she bought a computer dell laptop) and now I need pair this monitor with a HP 500-281 tour, that has DVI - D or VGA and standard audio jacks (as well as ports USB 2.0 and 3.0) and no mini DP.  I ordered a cable HDMI to DVI - D to connect the HP device to the screen, but fear that I don't get audio to the UZ2315H and be able to use its internal speakers, which I had hoped to do.  I don't do much on a webcam so that isn't a problem, but I was wondering if anyone has an idea on how to make the audio monitor?  I understand that the DVI - D to HDMI cable carry audio.  For any help or suggestion would be welcome.  Thank you, sandssik

Received all components today and using the DVI - D to HDMI Cable with USB 3.0 cable upstream my monitor immediately played video and audio, without any necessary adjustment.

    Thanks to Chris!

And thanks for the great forum!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones USB problem projector connection? No HDMI option...

Have a new PlayBook and look forward to using it for work presentations.  My projector is reasonably new (~ 1 year) and do NOT have HDMI connection, but it has a USB input.  I tried to connect my PlayBook to the projector using the USB-micro USB cable supplied with the PlayBook.  I then get a message popup on the PlayBook, stating

"Please start the"PlayBook Drivers Installer"on your computer if it is not started automatically, yet.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager allows you to synchronize media and back up your device and much more.  To download, visit www.blackberry.com/desktop/.

When I disconnect the USB port of the projector, this message disappears.  I checked my PlayBook software (latest version loaded it tells me), tried to find this driver on or via the desktop and App world software as well as on BlackBerry.com and cannot get to anything or any topic that mentions this problem?

Any help would be appreciated!  First presentation is in a week and I would rather not lugging the laptop.

I don't have the card, but if I were to get one, go with

    http://www.Amazon.com/HDMI-composite-S-video-converter-3RCA/DP/B0047PDBP0

I don't have a playbook (yet), but you would connect the Playbook to the converter with a Micro HDMI cable

and the converter would connect to the projector with svideo cable or components.
