  I have a Tecra M2v (with intel Extreme Graphics 2) and recently got an Advanced Port Replicator III and a 15.4 "WXGA LCD display. According to the specifications of the laptop (LINK to DL the PDF specsheet) it will support an external monitor with a resolution of 1280 x 800, but I don't know how to operate. The only resolutions that I can find are for 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024.

  I installed the latest version of the bios (v 1.30) and have tried different drivers of intel and can not get the wide screen resolutions to appear. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this to work?

  Are you sure that your external LCD can manage with a resolution of 1280 x 800? You attempted to set this resolution without Advanced Port Replicator III?

  Hello. Thanks for your quick response. I tried the hard reset and not lucky I haven't tried another cord, no luck.  The cord is the same cord that I used with my last hp device.  I have not had any problems with the fax on the last machine. I had a person of the audit of Department of telecommunications line and it works. I don't know much on the lines of phone/purse strings, but the old cord is a 4 son who has a two sons converter this have something to do with it?  I get a fax machine connected to the active telephone wall jack, but it still does not work on the correct port.  Any other ideas?   I just bought a docking station universal toshiba dynadock via amazon.com (latest version). I plugged on an Acer Aspire 5738zg computer laptop, Windows 7, 64 bit.
  Everything works great - except for my external monitor (6 months old packard bell viseo 190w, 18.5 inches, max resolution 1366 x 768 at 60 Hz)

  The dynadock manual says connect with monitor dynadock station via a vga cable - what I've done. Job monitor is completely black. The manual says then click the icon in the field of system status / tray (do not know what the word - the small icons at the bottom of the screen on the right screenfor side which) to configure the dynadock to be extended or mirror mode.

  Problem is that the icon does not exist. I have the icon for the audio part of the dynadock and icon for the system whole dynadock (icon called "toshiba dynadock tool" - here I can release the docking for example, but do not do anything on video/screen).

  I checked and the video/screen the dynadock element was installed togheter with everything - the installation was complete and successful. Still no icon if...
  I'm not watching videos or games, just be able to use my external when monitor I surfing online and you use microsoft word etc. - no data transfer gigantic so far as I can tell.

  How to solve this? Via the control panel of my laptop? How...? :-)

  I think that the best way to solve this problem is to download and install the latest graphics driver for the dynadock.
  So please, use this link, download and install the driver.

  If the external display doesn´t not working after installing the driver, please do a right mouse click on desktop and verify the "screen resolution".
  You should see 2 screens.
  If this is not the case - there is an error during the installation of the utility dynadock.

  I want to share a monitor and an external keyboard with Tecra A8 and a desktop computer. To do this, I bought a switch 2-port Linksys where I plugged the external monitor and a keyboard.   RGB (monitor) port used to connect the external monitor.
  If you want to connect the external keyboard, you have to use the USB ports.
  Additional legacy USB emulation must be enabled for the keyboard.
  These settings you can change in the Toshiba HWSetup under control panel.

  If you connect multiple devices to the switch USB (hub) Please be sure that the USB hub using external power.
  A low power USB could be a reason for the external USB device failure.

  I have problems connecting with VMware view
  I installed windows 7 and tested fine. But Windows8 x 64 is not allowed.

  Thanks to find the links but I could not find the drivers I need for a Pavilion dv7-4031TX.

  However I finally managed to fix the problem. Let me summarize what has been my problem.

  (1) I could not adjust the brightness of the screen by using the function keys f2 and f3.

  (2) I couldn't find the brightness slider if it was generally... i.e. (control Panel\Hardware and Options of Sound\Power)

  (3) my laptop would not recognize an external monitor.

  How I solved the problem:

  I have a new Tecra A6 with Windows XP SP2 running on it. The touchpad works fine, but if I use an external mouse connected to a USB port, the scroll wheel scrolls erracticly - jump an additional 6 to 10 lines every now and then, it's extremely irritating. Problem is there little matter which USB port I use.

  The mouse is a new Logitech optical mouse. Have also tried it with a Microsoft Intellipoint mouse and a generic without brand name. In each case, I had the same problem.

  I've updated the drivers - and turned off the touchpad (thought may have been a conflict), but the problem persists.

  When you use an external mouse I recommend you disable the internal touchpad by using the FN + F9 key combination. I do the same and there is no problem at all.

  You can do it. Time Machine it will support up to a separate folder on your backup disk. Don't forget to remove it from the exclusions list in Time Machine preferences. I don't know if others cannot see the drive connected to your computer is turned off. They may be able to mount the drive on their computer as you do on yours.
