Connection Internet drops after 15 minutes 7 windows

Original title: network goes down after 15 minutes

15 minutes after the start, I lose my connection to the internet. Another computer on my network still end. I tried restoring but it won't work. At the time of 95 to XP I would reinstall over the existing o/s & everything would be fine. Can I do this with Windows 7Pro? I tried the network troubleshooting. No go. Any advice?

TIA

Connection Internet drops several times every 5 to 15 minutes.  It is an old ASUS week ultrabook computer that is running Windows 7 Home Premiuim.  The problem is not the network as 4 other wireless computers work properly. Also, same problem is observed on the other two networks.  Only change in the computer as he received is the addition of Kapersky anti-virus and Microsoft Office 2003.  Problem seems to be with Windows 7.  The yellow triangle of death appears on connection bars when the problem occurs.  Disconnect and reconnect the Internet solves the problem for another 5 to 15 minutes.

It seems to me that it is a possible driver with the card built into your new laptop wireless. You can consider using Device Manager to check to see if there are problems reported with the wireless adapter. Also, I suggest that you visit the manufacturer of the laptop and get the latest available wireless drivers for that brand and model.

You could also have a hunt in the event log and see if there is any additional details that might shed some light as to why the wireless network has decreased. That his fall is one thing, but the log events might suggest a few reasons for this.

  • H323 incoming call drops after 5 minutes each time

    Hi people,

Can you shed any light on this please?

    H.323 incoming call (numbering by IP)-> external F5-> Fortinet Firewall-> internal F5-> internal firewall-> VCS - E-> VCS - C-> autoattendent MCU

The call drops after 5 minutes into the call, every time. We tried H.323 call to an internal endpoint, it falls as well. Looks like there is a value of the time-out period defined somewhere on firewall he or F5?

    Any suggestion is appreciated!

    1. Term applied to network connections through the firewall limits. For example, a Cisco PIX firewall can have a timeout of the form control:

      timeout conn 1:00:00 udp 0:02:00 h225 1:00:00 h323 2:00:00

(i.e. a list of names of Protocol recognized each followed by a timeout in hours, minutes, and seconds). This example requires a limit of 2 hours on the H.323 connections; However, it also imposes limits on the other protocols, which would also affect a video call (UDP and H225). Several different network protocols are involved in an IP video call. The call being demolished may cause a delay applied to all of them.

  • Internet connection is lost after 2 minutes

In our House there are 4 teenagers - all with laptops, iphones, BlackBerry, etc.

We have an internet connection to BT home hub.

Everyone can connect OK except 1 latop - if using WiFi, laptop connect only for 2 minutes and he then loses the connection to the internet.

The only way to get a WiFi connection again is to reboot the router.

The laptop works fine when connected with an RJ45 LAN cable - problem only occurs if you use the WiFi.

The laptop has Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8.

The icon on the watch of the taskbar that the connection to the router is OK, and varies from excellent to mediocre according to how far the laptop is located rom the router.

Why do I have a problem with this machine - I guess that it must be related to XP as all other machines have Vista or 7.

    Hello Gavin Duffy

It may be possible but not likely.
    1. the system that only stays connected for 2 minutes, this problem only occurred after the settings have been changed in the router?
    2. did you check with your son that only security settings have been changed in the router?
    3. have you checked to see if this system is undergoing the same questions on other networks such as Café, the bookstore free networks or network of neighbors (the permission that they allow to connect)?
Try to remove the wireless network profile and recreate.
If you use 'Wireless Zero Configuration' to manage your wireless network, go to the network connections folder ("" Start > run ", type ncpa.cpl and click OK"), make a right click on the wireless network connection, select Properties, and then click the wireless networks tab, where you can highlight and then 'remove' an existing profile.
After that you have removed, reconnect to your network and test to see if the problem still occurs.
    Thank you.

  • Internet disconnects after 5 minutes

Hi I was using my PC for a long time. I went for the weekend, and when I came back, I got a problem.  Every 5 minutes or so internet stops working.  There is no notification that a cable has been disconnected.  When I type something in the address bar it keeps loading but the page never comes to the top.  It is not my hardware or ISP because I started another operating system (fedora) and it worked fine. A temporary solution that I use is to disconnect and reconnect the eithernet cable.  But then the problem occurs again in 5 minutes.

    Things I've tried:
    1. disable internet card
    2. set a static ip address
    3. release ip/renew ip
    4 uninstall internet card
    5. restart the router

    Hi AppleWilliam,

Thanks for posting. The first thing we must do is to determine where the issue is in fact. This could be a problem with a piece of hardware, Internet Explorer, Windows or your ISP.

First when the problem occurs again do the following.

    Type the following command:

IPCONFIG/ALL [Note that there is no space between the oblique and ALL bar].

Right-click in the command window and choose select all, and then press enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

In the same command prompt window, identify the DNS and gateway (it will look something like ... default gateway: 192.168.1.1 and DNS servers...: 192.168.100.54 )

Now in black comand prompt, type the following command:

PING 192.168.1.1 (by replacing your IP of the gateway here) [Note that there is no space between the oblique and ALL bar]
Let us know if you get the response or timeouts.

Also again once in the same window type the following command

PING 192.168.100.54 (by replacing your DNS IP here) [Note that there is no space between the oblique and ALL bar]
Let us know if you get the response or timeouts.

If the answer then you can have a problem with your web browser. If you are using and other Web browsers with test and see if you have the same result.

If you do not get a response, test with another computer if possible to see if the problem persists there. If the problem does not occur on the other PC, then check your network cable connected to the PC and see if there is a link light. If there is a clear link then try to replace the cable and see if the problem persists.  If the problem persists after replacing the cable with a known good work. If the problem persists with a good cable to work known so try another port on the router or switch.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if any of these steps did or did not solve your problem.

  • Belkin F6D4050 v2 USB Wireless Adapter turns off after 5 minutes using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

I recently bought a wireless adapter Belkin for use in my Media Center PC in the living room. The router I use is also a Belkin N + Router. The wireless adapter will connect to my WPA encrypted network, but it will stop working after about 5 minutes or more. The State of the connection is going to say "No network detected." The icon shows a strong signal with a yellow bang next to it. It takes a hard reboot to get it working again. Take out the USB port and put again does nothing. The icon remains the same, but he won't let me not make a right-click or left-click on the icon. When you try to stop, the computer turns off completely; It gets stuck on the "Shutting Down" screen.

I disabled the option in the settings to get to power adapter down to save power. I thought that this would fix it, but still the adapter is not connected.  My Dell laptop gets a signal stronger than this card, and there is also no problem to stay connected to the router.

Any help would be appreciated on figure out how to get the card working properly.

    Hi brutus09,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

That the connection is lost intermittently, the issue seems to be with the drivers.

As for now I suggest to uninstall the drivers for the wireless adapter and download the updated drivers from the manufacturers website and see if it can solve your problem.

Access the link below to download the driver for the Belkin Wireless card.

    http://en-us-support.Belkin.com/

    1. go to the control panel and, under "Programs", select "uninstall a program".

    2. Select, then uninstall "Belkin Wireless card driver" from the list.

    3. disconnect the adapter.

    4. using another PC or via an temporary Ethernet, download the latest driver from the link above.

    5. run the executable downloaded on the computer, connect the adapter when prompted target.

    6. connect to your wireless as usual. If you have an encryption key, you will need to enter again by reinstalling the driver should solve the problem
