    Hi all

I hope someone can help me. I have the following configuration:

    Laptop HP 8530w

HP un2400 builtin Broadband Modem UMTS

    Windows 7 Professional x 64

    VMWare Workstation 7

My problem is that the HP Connection Manager 3 for the HP un2400 doesn't work anymore after installing VMWare Workstation 7. I'm unable to connect to a UMTS network because the connection manager think, for vmnet1 and vmnet8 virtual network cards are online an internet connected.

I tried to disable the virtual networks through the VMWare Network Editor. I can't disable the adapter, but when I apply the settings, the GUI is suspended.

I need to uninstall the HP connection manager. After that, I am able to disable the cards.

But ultimately I need for my work, the vmnet1 + 8 adapters on the host and Manager of HP connections.

    Does anyone have similar problems?

    Thanks for your help

    Kind regards

    Well,.

I did some more tests. I changed the startup type of the service USB arbitration for the delayed start.

It works for me. Active delayed start the connection manager load the firmware of WWAN cards before USB arbitration service is embarrassing. The only condition is that the connection manager must be loaded at windows startup.

  • HP connection manager

My question concerns the Hp connection manager.  I noticed that on my Pavilion dv7, it's using a lot of memory system and I wanted to turn it off. I changed the settings to prevent it from running at startup and when I restarted my computer, I was unable to connect to the internet.  The Wlan icon in the system tray shows that I was connected to my network, but I couldn't access the internet at all.  I started hp connection manager and fi x the problem.  Is there a way to bypass this allows me to disable the connection manager and always access the internet?  Thank you!

    Hello

When HP Connection Manager is installed, all your internet connections (including vpn connections) are routed through this application - when it is unable to start, you won't be able to connect.

However, if you actually uninstall this application (from its entry in the Panel, programs and features), and then restart, the connections will return to managed by Windows.

It is always a good idea to create a System Restore Point before uninstalling this kind of application.

    Kind regards

  • EliteBook 820 g3: fatal error in HP connection manager

    Hello

I just bought this laptop and having a fatal error "Object Reference is not set to an instance of an object" whenever I start the HP connection manager.

I need this application to subscribe to my HP Mobile Connect Pro service...

I try to follow the solution being http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Fatal-error-in-HP-Connection-Man... in vain.

Any help / suggestion to solve the problem?

    Thank you.

For those who have the same problem and who can not susbcibe to service, just ignore the error popup and continue the sign-up process (make sure you have all of the displayed window). Normally, you must complete the process and after reboot, connect to the service using the service of standard network provided by windows 7 instead of the applications of the buggy HP connection manager.

  • Connection Manager HP stopped responding + Windows Installer Error 1719

    I am running Windows 7 (SP1) 64-bit operating systems.

Started getting an error message of connection manager HP "HP Connection Manager Service has stopped responding.  Error code 8008005.

    HP Connection Manager v4.1.23.1 running.
When I try to install a new version of v4.4.10.1 (SP58930) HP connection manager, I get an error of Windows Installer 1719.  Tried different solutions recommended for this, but nothing has worked.

I see in the forum after this uninstall of the current version and then install the new version of the HP connection manager can solve my original problem.

Before uninstalling the currenet HP Connection Manager version, I wanted to be sure that I will be able to install the new version without encountering Error 1719.  I don't want to be in an even worse situation of not being able to the HP Connection Manager after you uninstall it.

Can I get confirmation from HP that I will be able to successfully install a new version after uninstalling the current version?

    ParryJM wrote:

A ran the Microsoft Fixit then tried to install it and got the Windows Installer Error 1719.

    Then uninstalled HP connection Manager.

Tried to install the HP (SP58930) connection manager and still have the error Windows Installer 1719.

What do you suggest I try next?

The fact that HP Connection Manager is no longer installed, how this will affect my computer?

The fact that it is no longer installed will have no effect on the functioning of your laptop and none on the operating system.

HP connection manager is simply a utility assistance for people who are making it difficult for the network through conections wifi and bluetooth connections.

If you are not in this group it is really useless.

From your description, it seems that if you can't follow instructions in the Microsoft fixit to the letter. By using the fixit is the easiest way to remove the registry entries and make changes to the registry that will allow installing and uninstalling software.  I can't recommend the methods that I use personally when I run on these issues because they involve access to the registry via regedit. The word people have never even heard of Regedit. Using Regedit can be a very bad thing for someone not experienced in the use of the registry editor.  All ch = angels did take place immediately and which included all the mistakes made during the access to the registry. Ongoing work on an operating system can fairly easily through the registry editor. Try the Microsoft fixit. It is a safe utility. Use it after an attempt to install and leave the window open until after error that does compete with the installation of the software.

  • HP connection manager: Fatal Error, HP Connection Manager Service has stopped responding.

    Hey there,

I have a very big problem with HP Connection Manager 4 on several Windows 7 laptops. The program is installed on about 250 laptop computers and some of them drive me crazy. Everything was fine until some point (I'm not quite sure, that could be after the installation of SP1, Win7), the connection manager has decided to stop working on some machines. Whenever I try to start it, it takes a long time to load until the following message is displayed:

    "HPConnectionManager.exe - fatal error '.

HP Connection Manager service has stopped responding. Quit and restart the application.

A fatal error occurred, check the HP connection manager in the event viewer for more details.

I tried the following on one of these books:

-Start the service manually: "Error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly."

-Msconfig: Removed any connection associated with Autostart Manager

    -Reinstall the HP connection manager

    -Repair HP Connection Manager

    -Reinstall .NET 3.5

    -Changed some regkeys

-Install Microsoft Hotfix KB2519740 which is part of the system essential updates for Microsoft Windows 7 (that I can't download because there is a server error)

I'm really tired of this problem, and I have a few unhappy customers on my back, so if you have any suggestions for me, please help.

    Thanks in advance!

Original title: Application of program compatibility... I get a box that says. Service not installed HP connection manager... so it says incompatible... How can I fix it?

This box appears whenever I start my computer...

    Hello

    1. what version of Windows you are using (Windows XP, Vista, 7)?

2 did you change on your computer before the show?

    Follow the steps mentioned below:

    Method 1:

Step 1: Run in SafeMode networking

Safe mode, start Windows in a limited State, where only the essential is started. If a problem does reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers and services as causes possible

Start your computer in safe mode with networking

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Step 2: Perform the clean boot

A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. The article below describes how to solve problems in Windows 7 by performing a clean boot. This article also describes how to start the Windows Installer service and how to reset the computer so that it starts as usual. To configure your computer to clean boot see the following link.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 7 in the article to start on normal startup.

If the problem persists, follow the next method

    Method 2:

Let us try to reinstall the HP connection manager and check with the question.

It has only been in the last 3 weeks

What can I also solve this problem?

What are the reasons for this eror occouring?

Would it not be better to reinstall the hp connection manager or preform a system restore point?

Use the programs and features to uninstall the application and then reinstall it from the HP Recovery Manager.

Applications become corrupt like the other files over time.

Unless you really need to your network and bluetooth connections, there is no need to reinstall.  It is only a request for assistance.

  • Connection Manager profile registry entry

    Hello

On my WIN XP SP3, I found a Profile Manager HKCR\Connection registry entry. Its subkeys Shell\Open\Command points to a file CMMGR32. EXE in the System32 folder, but the file does not exist there.

    My questions are:

What is the use of this article?

What happens if I delete this entry?

This key is tied to a Windows component that is not installed on my system?

How can we determine the validity of these keys?

    Thank you best regards &,.

    Abhay-

What is the use of this article?

It seems that the connection manager has been a feature of people into their custom in Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP applications:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc778989 (WS.10) .aspx

More that likely the exe is installed with custom applications.

Note: This key is not in Windows 7.

What happens if I delete this entry?

I tested in a Virtual Machine and that you are having problems. You wouldn't see Remove me these keys on my main box, as if this was not necessary it would not included by default in the operating system.

This key is tied to a Windows component that is not installed on my system?

Nope, it comes standard with every installation of Windows XP.

How can we determine the validity of these keys?

I don't know of any database that contains a list of all the keys in registry and their validity. Given the magnitude of such a basis, I doubt there are (but if we don't I'm sure someone in the community probably knows him).

I briefly mentioned above, but I want to reiterate that I do not recommend 'house cleaning' in the registry. Do such causes far more problems than it solves. It is important to keep in mind that several registry keys are in place that for compatibility reasons (this key is a perfect example). Deleting these keys does not cause immediate problems now but could hurt you later on the road.

If you want to experiment with the familiar registry keys deleting, I highly recommend the creation of a virtual machine with Virtual PC and allowing disks of cancellations.

I want to get this matter resolved without having to reinstall as I have a few games installed it on this system.

    Hi Mundilfar,

You can try the folliwng steps and see if it helps.

    Step 1:

You can try to scan the file system [SFC] checker on the computer that will replace missing or corrupt files & check if the problem persists.

For more information, you can consult the following link.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    Step 2:

If you are always faced with the question, then you can try to give permission for the Rasman registry key and see if it helps.

Important: The following steps show you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, follow the steps from the link below:

    Back up the registry

    a. Click Start, type regedit in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. Locate the following subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan

    c. right click on the key and click Permissions.

    d. Select Advanced, click on owner tab, click your user name, and check the 'Replace owner of subcontainers and objects', click Apply - click OK.

    e. click the user or group name that you want to work with.

    f. check allow total control. Click apply and then click OK.

    g. restart the computer and check.
