  I'm trying to build an application that will add/remove of CPU and memory to a machine virtual a VApp.

  I currently have the code to add.

  What I need is to understand the options 'Add a virtual CPU hot' and 'Hot-memory add' how to define those who through the API? And do I need to change in order to add new CPU/memory?

  Hi Henrique,

  Basically the virtual CPU/memory hot add means that modifing the number of CPU / memory of the virtual machine, the virtual machine is running.

  In the API, you don't need to set options to do - simply start the virtual machine and to try to change - even as usual editing operation.

  Note that are are some requirements to perform "HOT ADD" operations, so if some of the requirements is not fullfilled "hot add" operation will fail. For example, this feature is added in VC 4.0, so the version of the VC on which runs the cloud must be at least 4.0 VC. • Acquisition of images with 3 USB cameras causing too many uses of the memory/cpu

  Dear experts,

  I'm trying to capture images with 3 cameras USB, located in 3 different positions. I have to initialize each cameras using USB list vi camera when switching between cameras. I realize that, by making this method causing too many uses of the memory/cpu and can cause CPU hang up. If I stop the program, the memory/cpu counter are down.

  Do you know how to reduce this problem.

  Customer report (memory host ESXi, CPU usage & network) - a single report, we would like to see the top host memory, CPU usage & network (in vertical graphic mode) & wise high use of cluster for monthly wise.

  Create a custom report for our requirement.

  * Click on the general TAB on the right pane - action-> click on create dashboard.

  * Select use all data-> next-> name of the dashboard-> next-> select the type of column-> finish.

  * Click on the data TAB, expand VMware-ESX host > & slipped, objects-> to select create Table

  * Select Show all on the shortcut menu select Properties.

  Select ESX, ESX version build:

  Expand CPU-CPU host-> consumer > select high CPU.

  Expand the memory-> memory host--> Select MemoryProcesses top of the page.

  Expand Stoarge-> storage-> process host select high IO-> next-> next-> next-> select the ESX host to add to this table of edge/report from the list of filters under-> click Finish.

  If this point of view to the table, I've found metric to the graph view.

  But when we ran the report, values showed n/a, unfortunately. For the cluster option, I can't use superior even to the table view.

  Some can help me pull vFoglight report.

  One way to do this easier would be to create an array with the elements you want on it, as the name of the virtual machine, the use of the processor etc... and then you can filter/sort by CPU utilization, memory usage etc. and only have the Top 10 or anything else you like.

• How to activate memory/cpu hotplug vSphere

  I recently installed the trial version of vSphere and updated my ESX host 4.0 I saw some demos on the activation of hotplug memory/cpu under the settings option Edit - & gt; tab options, but the choice to do does not appear for me.  I have reviewed the two when the virtual machine is turned off and on again and it isn't here.  I even went up to select the option "Upgrade virtual hardware" but again no luck.  I have missing or is it only a feature of the license full viersion?  I've included a screenshot you can see that clearly miss me the choice for "Memory/CPU Hotplug" still my VM version is 7 and all other settings seem to be there.  Any help would be appreciated

  Win 2003 std doesn't support cpu or memory hotplug!

  You need enterprise edition for memory hotplug and 2008, Datacenter Edition for hotplug cpu support.

  Hello. I know on cisco UCS C460 we can expand the amount of memory using memory riser cards. Memory riser cards are hot-swappable. This means that when I run Win2008R2 Datacenter Server c460 I can hot add and replace the memory riser card memory?

  Can I hot replace memory on the motherboard slots?

  What UCS server models are supported CPU hot add/replace?

  Yes the risers of memory are hot-swappable, so assuming that the bare metal OS can support memory added to hot it will work.

  There is no DIMM slots on the motherboard directly on the C460.  Memory riser is only motherboard for memory interfaces.

  There is no such a thing to my knowledge as an addition to hot CPU on all Cisco platforms.

• Question about memory & CPU in Satellite A100-551 upgrade

  Greetings
  I had the misfortune to get 2 SODIMM KVR667D2S5 / 1 G for my laptop Toshiba Satellite A100-551 that don't work by themselves a single sodimm or as a pair, it doesn't matter which slot they go-they do not work.

  However when the 512 MB sodimm Moose is placed in one of the slots - anyone - either of the kvr etc. SODIMM work giving a total of 1.5 GB of ram.
  Please help me solve this problem.

  Also is it poss to upgrade cpu IE is nested cpu. I already upgraded a laptop cpu when thay had nested CPU, so I am aware of the problems that arise

  Can't believe that! As far as I know this laptop was shipped only with a 512MB DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM module.
  Of course you can improve the memory up to 2 GB using two modules 1024Mo.

  Well, what say, the CPU is hit you can find easily by using a material like Everest diagnostic program. It would provide useful information on your laptop hardware.

  But to be honest, I'm very skeptical as to upgrade CPU on laptops.
  If you have already modified several processors on laptops so you know that's not very simple and more complicated as the CPU upgrade on desktop computers.

  A virtual machine is always limited by the overall maximum configured for him.

  I'm trying to follow a process on the system running Windows Vista, I tried to create a user 'reliability and performance Vista Analyzer' Data Collection set (perfmon). What I have is the following:

  1. Under 'Sets of data collectors'-> 'User Defined'-> right click and 'New'-> 'set of data collectors.
  2. In the wizard, I chose 'Creation manual'-> tick 'Counters in Performance'-> click on the button "Add..." »

  What is happening is that the game runs and creates a log file, but when I stop and try to open the file, none of the counters specific to the instance to report, in the chart or legend. If I add a counter with "_Total" instance I can get results.

  I also tried to add all counters for a specific instance (\Process(iexplore)\*), in this case I got results, but they we're for "_Total", not for the specified instance.

  Quick update: it appears a display problem. After opening the log file I had to manually add the counters of the instance to chart to see.

  I got the card mother gigabyte, phenom 1100t and 16 GB of memory.

  Now, I have installed msi x99s sli krait, i7 - 5820 k, 32 memory.

  And hoping that run it without reinstalling Windows.

  PC started normally.  MSI welcome screen first, then I see the logo of windows and the next screen time spent BSOD with message "bios in this system is not entirely consistent.

  So I wonder if the reinstallation of the system to solve this problem? Or maybe anyone has the best idea?

  If your virtual machine is capable of hot add that you will need to enable the feature.  Change the settings of the virtual machine and click the Options tab.  You will see something like the connection to hot memory/CPU.  Hightlight it and enable to appear on the right side.

  I have a Dell PowerEdge R300 running under VMware ESXi 4.0 license.

  The server has built-in network card Intel Gigabit AND Dual Port, and I added an another PCIe Broadcom NetXtreme II 5709.

  I installed Windows Server 2003 virtual machine, and after complete installation, the 2003 recognize the USB network card and displays the icon in the systray.

  This allows me to "Remove hardware safely'-> 'remove Intel PRO 1000/MT".

  Of course if I do that I lose the networking on this server... Jac's for "security".

  Anyway, when I created the virtual machine, I used the default values of VMware NIC adapter E1000.

  I could choose E1000, Flexible, VMXNET (improved) 2 and 3 VMXNET.

  Is it possible to disable the deletion of the Windows NETWORK card? Or I must stop the virtual machine, install another NETWORK card and restart?

  It is advisable to install the vmware tools in the comments. I always recommend you to install the vmware tools.

  You're talking about the issue of vNIC, is not really a bug, is a new feature called hot plug-vNIC.

  Anyway is to disable to avoid accidentally remove it the vNIC, you can disable the connection to hot network card following this procedure:
