Consoles Vshpere 4.1 slow

Good evening everybody ^^,

I understand why, but when text consoles of the vm in vsphere, index is very slow. Of course, the vmwares tools are up to date, and I do not encounter the problem on all my Vm. In Rdp no worries.

Under If you're Windows 2008/2008 R2 you need install VMware SVGA drivers that are in File\Common\VMware\etc program...

  • Slow Foglight Console

    Hello

The Foglight Management Server Console (5.6.4) is horribly slow and we checked in the journals of resolution. We found that he was using a very high memory and we ran the Script (for high Mem in the Script Console), but it did not work. The console still isn't slow.

Is there a temporary fix for this problem?

    Kind regards

    Hello

I highly recommend this opening with support as soon as POSSIBLE, there are many things that can be done to investigate and twist Foglight.

Your environment is not huge and on a server with so many hearts (16 if I read) Foglight should have very good performance.

In some cases allocate less memory (8 GB) to Foglight works even better memory overuse causes like GC.

A typical investiation with support will include generating support bundle where we can check the performance of the server and the DB connectivity and that the server settings and DB connectivity can be twisted. Since Foglight dashboards get information from the database, the performance of the DB are therefore very important.

There are some improvements in ease of use that can be made, as the default time of 1 hour so Foglight should get less data from the database, ensuring that the first dashboard is not one that gets a ton of data in the initial newspaper is so fast as well as using the services to make sure that when you look at Java/DB/VM you try not to get the data for all if you only want to see a subset of the environment.

Another advantage to contact our assistance is their knowledge in plots of performance, there may be some specific dashboards that have performance issues that have been resolved and support will in this regard.

  • Stuck on the Virtual Machine of Destination VConverter P2V

I use VConverter 5 obviously independent and when I get to the Machine virtual Desitnation he wants me to take an existing one. How to convert that one physical and do a 'new' machine in my environment without me having to create a first? I used Vconverter from the console VShpere and he should do but I understand v5 is strictly autonomous.

    Thank you

    Gary

all the conversion wizard asking you what will be the name of the new virtual machine.  Once you get through the conversion wizard and press on to finish is when the conversion takes place and the new virtual machine will be created in your inventory.

are you using 1st and 2nd generation pilot, as you know, there is a 2nd generation driver (wdm) to 2008 r2.

  • vSphere cannot connect after time on the host change

I am a relative noob when it comes to virtualization.  I did a lot of research for the response, but can't find it.  Maybe you guys can help.

Connected to the host (VMWare vSphere for ESXi 4.0) management console, I changed the time on the host because he was distant.  After that, the vSphere console has become very slow, and when I clicked on another tab it has expired.

I closed vSphere and tried to reconnect and now I have a message that says:

vSphere could not connect with the server vCenter Server "[host IP address] '.

Details: A connection failure has occurred (unable to connect to the remote server)

I went directly to the physical console machine and press F2 to enter the system setup.  I restarted the management agent.  I can ping the IP address.  I can not connect via puTTy, but I do not think that I never activated the SSH access.

Has anyone ever encountered this?  What should I do?  I can't restart the host right now because the production servers are running on the VMWare.  If I have to restart later, what is the correct procedure for this? (close the BONES of the VM, and then restart the host?)

I had this happen before. I was unable to restart the services or navigate from the console. I waited until hours off-peak and connected directly in the less critical guest OS and stop them. I had to stop several before I could get access again vcenter. Once I had access i vMotioned the rest of the guests to other hosts and restarted the ESXi host. It's a risk, because if you cannot close machines you have to powercycle. You seem to have access, so you can be able to stop them from the CLI on the host.

  • Very slow WebLogic administration console in a strange behavior

Hi, I am facing a problem where the weblogic administration console becomes very slow, here is the scenario:

    * I have 3 servers managed in my environment, 1 server is a loadbalancer using servlet cluster weblogic, 2 other servers are in a cluster where

1 server is in the same physical machine as the server administrator and the other on another Machine

so now THAT if I stop the 2nd managed server is on another machine, the administration console becomes very slow, it takes like 30 seconds to load any section.

    I use the Weblogic Server 10.3.6 & ADF 11.1.2.4.0

    Help, please.

    Hello

Administration console WebLogic Server 10.3.6 becomes slow when a managed server is disconnected from the network, because the ServerLifeCycleRuntime does not wait times.

It is recorded in the published 14295772 vice - WEBLOGIC 10.3.6 SLOW CONSOLE - SERVERLIFECYCLERUNTIME no IS NOT TAKING THE WAIT times

Please, ask for the patch number 14295772, so that the administration console does not slow down for answer in case one of the host machines is achieved.

Then, you must set the following parameters:

    (1) in mydomain > Configuration > General > Advanced page

    Invocation seconds Timeout: 2

    (2) in the administration Console, on the preferences page > shared Preferences (Tab)

    Timeout operation management: 5

  • Administration console extremely slow to save changes

We are duplication event bookings in Business Catalyst to create new dates on our site (we sell face-to-face courses).

Our admin team had trouble with the last 4 + months. The administration console is extremely slow save changes and will sometimes disconnect you with:

"Error code: 0Message: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: an unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server." The status code returned by the server was: 0 "

Any ideas on how to make admin console user friendlier for those minor updates?

We contacted our Web designer who can't seem to reproduce the problem on their end.

    Thank you

This seems also spent a few years in the EU Admin Console takes forever to save

This seems to be something more for the moment.

Could you do a real support, ticket say that there are several partners and messages of the forum on this issue more and more and see where you get with that.

  • Slow mouse (vSphere Client after open the Console)

I have a brand new installation of VMware (more Essentials).  I'm also very new to the world of VMware, if I'm still struggling to catch.

When I connect via vSphere Client and select "Open Console" for any of my virtual machines, the mouse becomes too slow and nervous.

    Data sheet:

    • I have 2 guests;  Total 12 VMs
    • I see the slow mouse even if my client is installed on XP - Pro or Server 2003.
    • All virtual machines are Server2008 R2.  All the parameters of servers run by default.

I saw an old discussion of similar on this site trouble but no final resolution.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

    Welcome to the community,

solutions for Windows XP/2003 and 2008 R2 are different. Unless already done so, install VMware Tools in the virtual machines.

for Windows 2003 and XP follow http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1002450 to enable hardware acceleration

    follow http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1016770 for Windows 2008 R2

Don't forget to adjust the video RAM as described in the article, otherwise you can end up with a black console!

  • Slow console to Win2008 R2 to ESX 4.1?

When you use a Windows 2008 R2 client on a host ESX 4.1, I get graphics and the mouse very slow during setting to the console of the virtual machine. Typical what he looks like without Vmware Tools installed.

However, tools are installed and updated. I also tried to increase the memory of the graphics card for the virtual machine from 8 MB to 32, but no change.

If access to via RDP graphic design seems good though. That's the way it should be done, but is it not possible to get good performance from the console of the vSphere Client too?

  • Excessively (unuseably) remote console connection slow

Hi all, I'm desperate for a solution to this problem.

I have a very nice machine running two guests and the hosts run fantastic.  The host is a Dell 2950 with 12 GB of ram running two guests.  One is Win Server 2008 R2 and the other is Win Server 2003 R2.  Each has 4 GB of ram and two CPUs.  The performance tools will not show anything obvious, and as I say, the machines are running very well.

Can I remotely their via RDP and my performance is fantastic.

However, when I open vSphere, towards my ESXi 4 host and then tell her to open the client console, I can hardly move the mouse.  10 seconds by the speed of movement of the thumb.  or pressing enter takes 5 seconds just for the box to get depressed, much less anything.

What is the problem here, and what can do about it?  It's HORRIBLE.  It of bad, it's faster for me to release them by Ctl - Alt, move the mouse over the place, I'm interested, click once and wait while the mouse position, then click again.  In this way, that it takes me only about 4 seconds per click.

Yes, I have installed VMTools and full hardware acceleration is defined.  The Type of adapter shows Standard VGA Graphics Adaper and the Type of chip shows "V M ware, Inc. VBE 2.0 support" with 8 MB memory graphics.  Resolution is set to 1024 x 768.  32-bit color.

I have a VPN between me and the host, and as I say, RDP is incredibly fast through the connection while the vSphere console is slow by glaciers!

I have resorted to RDP in my comments, then install vSphere on the client, and then run the console remotely from the prompt and the performance is ok (still not good, always choppy, but usable).  Which works well until I need to manipulate the console for the comments that I use for the RDP.  I can't be connected to the console at the same time as I am registered via RDP.

I see a lot, and a lot of complaints in this area, but I see zippo in solutions.

Any kind sole is willing to help me out here?  I'm so frustrated that I ended up yelling at my monitor!

There is no way to operate and I really need help here.

I really (really, REALLY) like this (VMware) to work.

    -greg

When used in this way I would be absolutely set up a dedicated workstation. An old laptop or pc small Atom based. You can also watch a KVM IP switch. Add a power switch remote. I don't know what your host hardware, but if you have a BMC (ILO for DRAC in Dell, HP, BMC in IBM) you can usually get access and remote power control.

  • Virtual machines, run extremely slow when the console is consulted 2 virtual machines Windows Server 2008 64-bit, Windows Server 2003 32-bit, 2 VMWare for virtual machine

I'm in a difficult situtaition here.  I am the daily contact with a new client.  My linux guy, who is also my boss who is very busy, asked me to do some research trying to find answers for what's not on this server. We have a dual Quad Core 2.5 Ghz Lenovo server with 10 GB of ram.  2 500 GB hard drives are Raid 1.  We run Virtual Server VMWare 2 on a Debian with Gnome installation as a user interface for the side of things Linux.  Grub is the boot loader. There are two virtual machines running on the server.  The one machine that serves as a domain controller is a Windows SBS 2008 Server 64 bit, and the secondary machine has no responsibility domain.  The second machine is a Windows Server 2003 32-bit.  the 10 GB of ram 6 GB is allocated to the SBS server and 4 GB to the 2003 server.

The problem I am running into is that everything is so slow, especially if I connect remotely to do any sort of administration on the network.  Some examples of issues I've noticed is that as soon as I log on the server via Remote Desktop SBS console management Windows Server spike to 80-95% CPU usage and it will not stop unless I close the management console.  Another instance is that if I open Backup Exec 12.5 on the SBS server it will kill the speed of the processor as well.  Long story short, there are a lot of machine to do what we need to do, but something is not configured right and non of us know what it is.  Another point to note is that the server has been in production for about 3 weeks, and the server seemed to have locked up just twice.  My professional guess is that over time, some chose thing is eating causing the crash of the memory.

Sorry I do not have much technical insight on this topic, but this is the best I have to offer.  Any questions you all have, I'll ask my people and see if I can answer, but I could really use your help here.

    Thank you in advance,

    Heath

    2 things:

1 you really need hard drives more than 2 in a RAID 1 for proper performance under load. More disks the better. Although I don't think that's what your problem is, he'll probably be the problem Next you will do.

    2. I don't know exactly where the configuration file is on your box of Debian for VMware Server, but you should consider adding the following options in the configuration file (on windows, it's the vmware 'config.ini'):

    prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "100".

    MemTrimRate = 0

    sched.mem.pshare.Enable = "FALSE".

    mainMem.useNamedFile = "FALSE".

If you do some research, you can read about what these options (the largest is the memory page sharing - it should only be left on if you have a bunch of similar virtual machines running on the same box, that you don't have.) I honestly know why this is on by default, he kills the CPU when virtual machines are running different operating systems). These are the options that I now use standard in VMware Server deployments, with huge performance increases after you have added the. Just give a try.

Edit: Also make sure that you have installed in your virtual machines VMware tools.

  • Sign in to the administration Console is very slow

Beginning of time server is very well.
But when, for the first time that I try and sign in to the administration console, the page admin console takes a long time (about 20-25 minutes).

The version of the weblogic server is 10.3.2.

There are no errors in the server log file.

No idea what can be the problem?

What is the description of your server? Memory, processor speed, etc. So is Unix or Windows? You can do some settings on the server, adding more memory ito the java virtual machine in the initialization scripts. This might help, but if your hardware is not great, it won't help much.
