I came against HP Suresupply and what seems to be a third-party Portal buy ink.

Someone at - it problems elsewhere experienced with HP that provide screen site displays a blank page out message of welcome and others with very small fonts and the inability to give a "webmaster" feedback and the inability to "choose another printer" - it does nothing when I enter my model.

Comments webmaster got finally on these forums?

  • Airport Extreme - poor score from Consumer Reports

In the notes of June 2016 of routers by Consumer Reports, the Apple Airport Extreme was ranked 7th of 14 rated routers.

Linksys (EA8500) AC260 ranked 1st with an overall Score of 89

The Apple Airport Extreme ME918LL/A 7th place with an overall score of only 67 & wasn't 1 of 4 routers "recommended" by Consumer Reports.

I have currently 2 5th generation Apple Airport extreme with the 2nd 1 put in place as an 'extension' of the 1st (hard wired).

Am currently in the market for an Apple Airport Extreme 3rd - also to be used as an 'extension' of the 1st (also to be wired).

I had years of service with my current 2 extremes without any major problems.

But, I must say, this weak side causes me to rethink the purchase of one 3rd extreme.

In addition to an Apple 6 more belonging to both myself and my wife and one old iPad 3 belonging to my wife, I don't have any other products Apple.  I use Dell computers & have never owned a Mac.

    The qUESTIONs ARE:

Should I worry about buying the new Apple Airport Extreme Base Station?

The Appreciation of Linksys #1 is $60 more ($240) that extreme already expensive ($180).

    Is - it's worth the extra $$$?

Different brands of routers can be 'mixed' and used as in "extensions" of a 5th generation Apple Airport Extreme Base Station?

Should I worry about buying the new Apple Airport Extreme Base Station?

Perhaps.  The current product was introduced more than 3 years ago, and Apple did not of any material changes since that time. Because it usually takes about a year to develop a new product, the technology in the "current" AirPort Extreme is probably 4 years old.

Your next question might be... Apple plans to introduce new models soon?  The answer is that we do not know.

The Appreciation of Linksys #1 is $60 more ($240) that extreme already expensive ($180).

I have not used this model, but another user might have a few comments.

Different brands of routers can be 'mixed' and used as in "extensions" of a 5th generation Apple Airport Extreme Base Station?

    Yes and no.

Yes, if the routers are only connected together using a connection wired Ethernet cable.

Not in general, if you ask to have different brands "extend" the signal of wireless connection to other brands

Every now and then my mbp will be completely insensitive because of a process called "distnoted" consume 100% cpu on a period of time.

Why is this happening? Is this a virus? I have 16 GB of RAM + SSD - surely that should be record high enough to run OSX 10.11?

The good news is that this is not a virus. This process was created by Apple and runs along the side to provide iTunes supported mobile devices. I would just try and force them to leave the application. http://www.groovypost.com/HOWTO/distnoted-exe-process-running-background-safe/

  • I want to print my address list in a way that consumes less space, maybe two entries per line

I maintain a paper copy of my list of e-mail addresses. I find that useless paper is consumed by current printing set up. No or very little use made of the right part of the page. Is there a fairly simply way I could persuade Mozilla to print in two columns? I would be able to live with the printing of information such that, where there is a change in the initial letter of the next recipient (such as a change from 'k' to 'l') it appeared that half way down a column having for result the possibility that there could be several initial letters appearing on a page. Please note that I'm fairly qualified in the operations of the computer and will not be offended by the answer "there is no simple way to do it" or similar.

Export the address book to a CSV file
In the address book window, select Tools-export
Open the CSV file in Excel and organize the data as desired and print it from there.

If the Time Capsule and MacBook Pros are not on the same network, the MacBook is not backup in the time Capsule. You probably see what snapshots leaving MacBook on the local disk, until the two are reconnected. If you don't want that to happen, disable Time Machine on a different network.

  • Firefox consumes too much RAM, caused by js

I have problems with Firefox consumes too much memory RAM. Many people are complaining about this, but I have done some additional research before posting here, using the about command: memory and I discovered that js-no-window and js-main-runtime are the cause.

When I start an empty Firefox session I immediately an allowance of 260 MB of RAM. About 75-80% this is taken up by these two processes of js (javascript?).

After opening about 10 tabs with different Web pages, the use of the RAM went up to about 750 MB. During the time that the tabs are open most of the extra of the MB are consumed by the window objects (40 MB per page, yet much seems to just a news with an article site...) but after their closing will not use of memory to the bottom and he transferred to the two already mentioned js process. This transfer to the js process is not always the case, it seems to happen if I open a lot of tabs, let's say 10 + maybe.

I tried to disable Javascript using the SettingSanity plugin, but makes navigation difficult at home of course and the worst of all this does not solve the problem. Specified processes continue to use the same amount of RAM.

I have this same problem on all my computers and laptops, so it can't be a coincidence. Is there anything I can do about it? It is being investigated? How a browser with 10 open web pages may need almost 800 MB of RAM?

And please don't reply not to "install more RAM". The pc with the fact that I have more problems has 2 GB of physical RAM and I really don't think it is possible on a computer of this logon type 10 web pages. Do the same thing in Internet Explorer consumes less than half the amount of memory RAM.

PS: I sent this request using IE because I could ' t access this page in Firefox. The button 'Ask the question' did not work...

I have 2 GB Ram too and can open up to 20-30 tabs before slowing down. Maybe it could be an addon like Adblock more which can cause the memory leak.

  • Safari more than consuming 100% CPU

I am currently working with Safari 9.1.1 and whenever it is open it consumes 100% CPU and causes fans on my 13-inch MacBook Air to the race. For example, while describing the problem in Safari with only this tab open my CPU is 102.3% (33.2 MB memory). Besides the closure of the only open tab CPU usage remains high until I have completely quit the application. If I open the same page in another browser, the CPU of the other browser usage is much lower. Any ideas as to what is the cause and how it can be fixed will be very appreciated.

A simple reset of the SMC should solve this problem. Please read this article to know how to do this in your device:

  • Firefox starts in silent mode and consumes up to my processor

Since then, Firefox starts automatically as a silent process consuming 30% of my time cpu and about 7 MB of memory usage. This occurs at startup or when no visible Firefox is running. Kill the process causes the Firefox restart, again in silence, in a few seconds.

Opening a window of Firefox for web browsing causes another Firefox process to begin (parallel to each other).

If you want your Apple Watch to stay connected to the phone, you need to keep compatible BlueTooth.

All functions of the phone will use up the battery life. Some things more than others. Screen brightness, low cell signal strength and location services are major culprits. If you are having battery problems, see this article:

  • whay in local settings application data folder is to consume a lot of space?

Why the application data folder in local contexts consumes a lot of data?

From what I've seen myself the urlclassifier3.sqlite file will be of ~ 28 000 KB to ~ 55 000 KB over time. The offline Cache is rarely used by websites to store data, and the Cache file will increase in size, until the user clears the Cache. Difficult to indicate a number of maximum on the size of the Cache size, as I have not seen 'numbers' posted (available disk space is part of authorized size) and I have not used the same profile long enough without emptying the cache to see a size max.

  • Who is responsible under the law of the consumer?

AM currently in the 2nd year of contract through Virgin for an iphone6 more. After the display update was compromised with gray lines that appear periodically and become unresponsive. reboot would temporarily solve the problem, have tried all the other Inc. factory etc. It took to the Genius Bar at Apple who took apart and says that the phone is in good condition, no signs of misuse or damage it. They said that for them to replace it, as one does not buy the phone at home, it would cost £229, but through consumer law, could cost us nothing, but it must be by point of sale, i.e. Virgin. Now next to the phone to Virgin, first phone call went well, saying: it could be repaired by the consumer's right and they fix it but suggested another fix. Fix did not work and we telephoned again only to be told that as he was out of the year, had nothing to do with them and to Virgin arrange repair through Apple would cost US £260. A Manager promised to call me back Monday. The question, because this issue isn't our fault, will the way consumer right, who is in charge, Apple or Virgin as both say it's the other?

    Thank you very much
