Controller SATA on Vista RC1 on Qosmio G20

I use Vista Beta 2 since it first came out in public and it is almost perfect. Except for some pretty important things. First of all, my mouse pad does not work and I can't get any driver that works with it eighter. But this isn't a big problem since I always use with a mouse. But the second problem is that I'm now trying to switch to Vista RC1.

But I can't I get a message that says that I don't have the good controller SATA Standard. I have to cela uppgrade to uppgrade Vista. I can't find any uppgrade to it so I don't know how uppgrade Vista RC1. Anyone else have problems like that? Vista Beta 2 works great, but when I installed it I used a clean install, now I'm set.

Make a difference?
Truls

I have studied a little more and I found this site of Toshiba.
There are pilots, but only for a Qosmio G35, this could be similar to the G30.

I think compatible SATA drivers, that you will also find on the Intel Web site.
Please try to search on the Intel support site.

  • VISTA on Qosmio G20

Hi, is upgrading to Vista on a Qosmio G20 recommended?
I know the Vista Media Center not - work with HDTV here in Sweden, but WinMCE2005 (XP), and the latter is installed on my G20.

I don't think that Vista Media Center can be added on XP.

    Hello

AFAIK Qosmio G20 is not Vista support and unfortunately Toshiba doesn't offer Vista drivers, tools and utilities for this model of laptop.

In my opinion, you should continue to use Windows XP Home edition.

What you can do is try how Vista works on Qosmio G20 and install it on the second partition of HARD drive.

  • Qosmio G20-114: Vista upgrade issues - common Module driver is blocked

    I have the Qosmio G20-114 P - M 770/XP MCE /... Part number: PQG20E-00D003EN

I've upgraded to Vista... and receive a message from driver error driver Toshiba common Module is blocked because it is incompatible with Windows Vista.

I was running Windows XP MCE. Download a newer version of the driver that would work on this machine and with vista?
I found a later version of this driver for other models...

    Hello

No, you can download the latest version of common for Vista modules because the Toshiba has not released drivers Vista for the Qosmio G20

This error message is displayed on your laptop, because the common modules only work with XP!
If you want to upgrade XP to Vista you must first remove all incompatible applications.

  • New driver for Qosmio G20 with Vista installed

    Hello

There are new drivers for Qosmio G20 with Vista installed.

Right now, it's Nvidia Video 169,25 version of the driver for Windows Vista.
No blue screen after installing this driver, at all.
I think that this new driver will solve the following problem:

    * Power failure screen after you have closed the lid on Vista *.

You can try it, remembering that the installation must be handwritten. And you must choose the graphics card Nvidia Geforce 6600, during installation.

  • Qosmio G20-127: keys Fn & shortcut keys do not work with Vista RC1

This problem is really annoying me. Shortcut keys (play, pause, forward, record, brightness), or Fn keys work since I installed windows vista RC1.
I need to find a solution to this problem. If someone did experience please provide me with your comments.

Also the ConfigFree seems to be incompatible with Windows Vista, if someone knows a thing or two, I would be very grateful

    Hi Shaker

There is no trick or two!
Do you know that the Windows Vista RC1 is not a version of the official end and the RC1 version contains about 1500 bugs!

In addition, to use the Toshiba features such as the FN buttons or shortcut keys you need drivers Toshiba. BUT you won't find not all Toshiba Windows Vista drivers at this time.

Why? Because Windows Vista is not official on the market. So if you want to use the Vista at the moment on your laptop, you will need to use it without the Toshiba options.

But I m sure you will get the Toshiba drivers If Windows Vista has been fully developed and official to buy.

  • Qosmio G20 Vista drivers? No need to install Windows Vista

    Hello
I'm new to this forum. My name is Francisco and I live in the Brazil. I have a Toshiba Qosmio g20_105 and it is running Windows Vista Ultimate EN RTM 6000 without problems.
To do this, you must perform a clean installation of Windows Vista. The drivers for network (Intel PRO100), audio (Soundmax), TV (Toshiba PCI Tuner), modem (modem of toshiba), Alps pointing device are installed directly from microsoft. You must install the Toshiba, Toshiba Bluetooth nvidia display driver (monitor and stack), driver Toshiba flash media, toshiba RAID texas (drivers and utilities), toshiba remote control manager and ConfigFree for Windows Vista.
You must have the Toshiba RAID drivers to install from the windows Vista DVD. Otherway, Windows does not recognize Toshiba RAID 0 and RAID 1.

Below some pictures of my desktop of the G20 screen:

And here is an example of the use of backgrounds animated with Windows Vista, deskscapes called dreamscene.
    It is in pause mode

To perform a new installation of windows Vista:

    3. turn on your computer and press F12 to display the start menu.
    4. Select the option to boot from the CD/DVD drive.
    5. on the first Setup screen, choose your language options, and then press "next".
    6. press on "install now".
7 type your product key and then press "next".
    8. accept the license terms by checking the box, then press "next".
    9. when he asked "which type of installation that you want", press "Custom (advanced)".
    10. when it is asked "Where do you want to install Windows?", make sure that your media containing the Toshiba RAID drivers is connected to the computer, and then click on "Load driver".
    11. navigate to the location you copied the RAID drivers then press 'OK '.
    12. the installation program will return to the previous screen, but it will show that you have selected the TOSHIBA RAID driver.
13 make sure that the TOSHIBA RAID driver is selected, and then press "next".
    14. continue the installation of Windows Vista as usual.

Now, you will need drivers Toshiba for your Qosmio G20:

    Drivers:
    1. SD memory controller

As trying to install it, even if it has installed, no component of Toshiba worked and my network/internet access does not work either. Technical support Toshiba said that since they advertise portable computers that are 'vista ready', this therefore translates by made of others, all other portable non supported. I hope you can learn from my mistakes I have proceed to wipe my data and reinstall XP.

  • Qosmio G20: XP Installation disk & SATA USB

    Hello

I have Toshiba Qosmio G20 and I have the following problem:
When I try to install new windows using the SATA drivers via the floppy USB drive as a process of installing classic XP SATA drivers are needed 2 times:

First time as usual, you will need to press F6 to specify drivers via the USB floppy drive, that this is no problem. The works of diskettes.

Afterworlds it is the second time that when the same SATA drivers are required from diskette (drive A :). After the selection of the 1 install Windows XP blue screen 3 options, before the first reboot. The installation starts copying the files required for the instillation process and asks AGAIN COPY THE SATA DRIVERS for more usage of the system.

On this stage the USB Floppy is see inaccessible computer cant that it has USB floppy A:.
So I can't continue with installing XP because for the next reboot is no SATA driver and no hard drive is detected.

I tried this several ways and several versions of XP Setup, but the same result.

Please tell me how to fix the problem will be updated firmware available which can see the USB floppy plugged into this scene.

    Kind regards
    Konstantin

    Hello

Did you install the RAID driver?
Well, I put t know if it because of this problem, but as much as I know the Toshiba RAID driver must be added during the installation, when prompt to 'press F6 if you need to install a third-party RAID or SCSI driver.

To do this, please download the Toshiba RAID driver from the web page of Toshiba driver download and extract the zip to a disk file. Connect the floppy drive to your computer before starting the installation.

The Setup program continues until you are asked if you want to "S = specify additional device. Press' and specify the driver Toshiba Raid for XP or 2000 as required.
Press 'Enter' to continue the installation.

When you use Windows Setup to partition or format the HARD drive, the RAID driver is deleted in the process.

Please tell me if you have resolved the problem.

    Best regards

  • Qosmio G20 no longer works after trying to load the SATA driver

My qosmio g20 was working until I loaded a driver sata intel (f6flpy).
Now the lights are working but no attempt to access cd or hard disk etc.
Is there a way I can reverse the procedure or reinstall drivers chipset etc I guess I corrupted?

    Hello

I think that you have installed a wrong driver!

The fact is that the Qosmio G20 supports RAID functionality and you must include the RAID driver and not the driver SATA!

The RAID driver can be found on the European driver Toshiba page!
Please choose your model of laptop (right series), download the RAID driver, install it instead of driver SATA and follow along with the Windows operating system installation.

I think this should solve this problem.

I'd appreciate some feedback from you!

  • Multimedia "Video Controller" error Qosmio G20 & NO sound

I have a brand new Qosmio G20. It has been properly installed according to list of instructions installation of Toshiba (all listed in the correct order.

Unfortunately, whenever I start (WinXP Pro), I received a message that the system has detected new hardware. In the presentation of the material, it lists a "video-controller as" and a "PCI device" that it has not been installed correctly. I tried to solve this by downloading all kinds of latest drivers on the Toshiba site. But apparently the system is still missing some drivers, although I can't know who they should be. Also in this situation, I have no sound available. I tried to reinstall the audio driver. But at the end of the installation procedure, it says that the driver is not found and leaves the facility?

  • Qosmio G20 - blue Volume Indication bar does not work under Vista

    Hey guys,.

would really appreciate your help on this. 2 days ago I decided to upgrade my laptop Qosmio G20 for vista (I know I don't need to hear all the problems of Vista, but I had to do). in any case, after a lot of problems (missing drivers, windows known glitches etc), I managed to get it up and running again. At least it's functions.

All Toshiba equipment are missing because they are not compatible with vista. I found the drivers of replacement etc. and solved most of the problems. I have not yet solved the blue volume indication bar inoperative led, located just on the right side of the touch pad. It s simply stating an indication of fake volume and its not changing at all with any volume control. The green on the screen volume bar is also missing.

Any of you have any idea how to solve the problems?

    Thank you very much

    Anthony

    Hello Anthony

I assume that you have already noticed the Qosmio G20 isn t that supported by Vista. So I can believe you had problems to find all the missing stuff, but if the Vista works well now you should not focus on the little things.
Exact managed and controlled by Toshiba designed tools and utility functions.
If they are not available, I have gift opportunity see t to solve this problem.
