  • Qosmio G20 - blue Volume Indication bar does not work under Vista

    Hey guys,.

would really appreciate your help on this. 2 days ago I decided to upgrade my laptop Qosmio G20 for vista (I know I don't need to hear all the problems of Vista, but I had to do). in any case, after a lot of problems (missing drivers, windows known glitches etc), I managed to get it up and running again. At least it's functions.

All Toshiba equipment are missing because they are not compatible with vista. I found the drivers of replacement etc. and solved most of the problems. I have not yet solved the blue volume indication bar inoperative led, located just on the right side of the touch pad. It s simply stating an indication of fake volume and its not changing at all with any volume control. The green on the screen volume bar is also missing.

Any of you have any idea how to solve the problems?

    Thank you very much

    Anthony

    Hello Anthony

I assume that you have already noticed the Qosmio G20 isn t that supported by Vista. So I can believe you had problems to find all the missing stuff, but if the Vista works well now you should not focus on the little things.
Exact managed and controlled by Toshiba designed tools and utility functions.
If they are not available, I have gift opportunity see t to solve this problem.

  • Satellite L10 - battery not recognized by Vista MS

    Hello

I use MS Vista on my Satellite L10 and everything works great except my battery which is not recognized by Vista. There is just an unknown device in my equipment manager. In the section on the homepage Toshiba drivers I couldn't find a driver or other instructions. The MS Hotline told me this isn't their but question Toshibas.

I hope that this forum is someone who can help me solve the problem. I just want to know if my battery has enough power for 20 minutes or 2 hours and I really hate it if my laptop is suddenly out of power.

    Thanks in advance.
    Christoph

    Hello

You have installed Vista on the L10?
Wow I know Satellite L10 is not Vista capable and you should be happy that this OS works without big worries on this Satellite phone.

However, I recommend the Vista update to the last State, to install the compatible chipset from Intel page.

But I assume that the BIOS on this laptop is not fully Vista capable that this question therefore appears on the L10.

    Hello

Know what type of network card you have and download the drivers of its supplier.

It doesn't matter what it is always a good idea before re-install/upgrade to log on to the computer support page, download independent drivers from there and put them on a flash drive.

  • Qosmio G20 - new HARD drive does not work

I have a G20 and try to change one of my hard drives of 60 GB for a new 250 GB (Western Digital WD2500BEVS, SATA-150, 5400 RPM).

First thing I would add is that the hard drive is fully discoverable, formatable, and usable in my desktop... but in my G20s it only detects it in the BIOS but has a status of 'impossible' and my operating system (XP) can't quite see.

    Please can someone help?

    Hello

You've got a 60 GB and a 250 GB HARD drive in your Qosmio G20.
    Is this good?

What RAID settings do you use?
You can check the settings in the BIOS and in the user manual, you will find some details about the RAID.

If the RAID is defined on the mirror then only the HARD drive would be available and if the first HARD 60 GB disk is then the other HARD disk would also provide ONLY 60 GB even if it s 250GB

    Hello

    It's very strange
Have you tried to reinstall the OS again?
    Try this.

I recommend also to remove the CD/DVD drive Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Usually the operating system should recognize the drive of the CD/DVD device correctly and must reload the driver again.

I see you are using Nero burning ROM. I know sometimes the BONE can be confusing upward if several burning applications are installed.
So remove the sonic software and use only one. Nero.

  • Qosmio G20: No HARD drive recognized when installing XP

I have a problem with my Qosmio G20.
One of my hard drives was damaged so I bought a new try to reload Windows XP Pro but it came out with an error massege that says: "the installer has NOT FIND ALL disk HARD DRIVES INSTALLED in YOUR COMPUTER.
But when I check on the Bios it supported hard drives

I would appreciate any help from you guys

    Hello

Maybe your Win XP OS does not include the RAID driver!

Qosmio G20 supports RAID functionality and you must include the RAID driver during the installation of WIN XP by pressing the F6 key.
The RAID driver can be found on the European driver Toshiba page.

If you need information more than just posting it here ;)

Problem: My DVD player is a slot type. I can't insert any CD/DVD disc even if I can push the disc inside full inside the drive, the drive does not it because it comes out as if I push the drive against a spring.

    I think it s a hardware problem.
But just a question; are you able to boot from a boot disk?

If not then this could be really a hardware problem and in this case, that the CD/DVD drive needs to be replaced in most cases, it s not possible to repair the STRANGE old the STRANGE old will be replaced by a new one

  • Qosmio G50 PQG55A: NVIDIA driver - update or not

    Hello

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

The short question is, should I update my NVIDIA driver from 175,90 (as shown on the Web from Toshiba site) to the Version: 186.81 WHQL as suggested by the NVIDIA site.

    The long version follows...
My Qosmio G50 (PQG55A-04J01Y), running under Vista 64 Bit, crashes intermittently. It is sometimes good for more than a week earlier, sometimes once or twice a day.

I was quite thorough with virus and malaware controls.

Everything seems to stop, even if the mouse still works.
I have to turn off the PC, sometimes reboot Check Disk runs and corrects errors.

Windows Problem Reports and Solutions comes with the following:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A problem with the NVIDIA graphics driver
NVIDIA Graphics Driver has stopped working properly.
An update of the driver, as appropriate, could prevent this problem does not happen.
There are several ways to find and install the driver updates, but it's best to let Windows do it for you. Try the step below, which describes the process. If it does not produce a driver update that resolves the problem, try the remaining steps in the order shown.

    1. search the optional third-party updates
    2. try to manually update the NVIDIA Graphics Driver
    3. check the NVIDIA Corporation Web site for driver updates
    4. check the Web site of the manufacturer of your computer for driver updates

If NVIDIA Graphics Driver was preinstalled on your computer, check the Web site of the manufacturer of your computer for driver updates.

How can I find the manufacturer of my computer?
How to upgrade manually a pilot using a file downloaded?

    1. updates of Windows are perfectly up-to-date.

    2. when I try to update driver I get the message;
+ Windows has determined the software driver for your device is up to date. +
    However...

    3. when I use the NVIDIAs tool to automatically search for updates, I get the following:

    NVIDIA driver downloads

    NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT

    Driver was last updated

NVIDIA recommend you check with your OEM laptop on the software updates recommended for your laptop. OEM may not provide technical support for the issues raised by the use of this driver. +

    > Short is, devrais I update my NVIDIA driver from 175,90 (as shown on the Web from Toshiba site) to the Version: 186.81 WHQL as suggested by the NVIDIA site.

Generally, you must use the graphics driver downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.
The graphic card driver from the Toshiba page has been tested and it s certified by Toshiba.

The common graphics driver nVidia is not designed for laptop and that's why these drivers don't support a protection against overheating.
    Driver Toshiba done!

So using the page nVidia graphics card driver can be risky and could overheat your GPU so the use of 3 third-party drivers is always at your own risk!

I have thin you should stay with the driver from the Toshiba page

  • Qosmio G20: Feedback speaker + HD DVD will not play

I usually don't use the internal sound on the laptop it is normally plugged into my hi-fi using optics and a creative labs USB device.

However, I am experimenting with playing a DVD hd through my TV using the hdmi output connection. The two DVDs, DVD player high definition HD Toshiba tries to play but nothing happens. Anyway back to the right question.

I thought that, perhaps, the cause is that I had disabled internal sound, so I let him. However, when you start up Windows, I got your feedback loud and terrible (MOM had to leave the room). I had two times to turn it off by pressing on the top to move off. When feedback was going on the computer seems inadmissible. I discovered later that he would sometimes silence if I almost closed the lid. Finally, finally, I managed to get into the control panel to turn off the sound edge. Any ideas?

Back to DVD problems. Bought the PC in early January and Doom on HD DVD just to try (has not bought a laptop for high definition DVD just the model I chose had it anyway). When I tried doom, it did not work, a few weeks ago. Permit on board and it worked. Disabled the sound, back to my stereo and it still worked. In both cases, did not watch the movie, was just to try the stuff of high definition.

A colleague lent me King Kong on HD DVD and I had intend to also try the hdmi connection. The two videos won't play.

    Any ideas?

Wait a moment David! Your ad is so confusing to me that I n know how to understand all your problems.

Can we please discuss step by step?

First I delete information because, as far as I know, the G20 is not distributed with HD - DVD player, only G30 (not all). Because of this I will ask you once again: is this your Qosmio G20 has ODD HD-DVD and HDMI output on the basque coast port? If Yes can please write you exact model description (G20 - XXX)?

I ask this because I tested the G30 friends with my HD-ready LCD TV and everything works perfectly. Picture on TV is brilliant and its really fantastic.

Please write again, but clear sentences and try to explain what is exactly your problem.

  • External hard drive gives USB not recognized error

I have a Western Digital Passport 80 GB HD, which worked fine with XP until today.  I plugged this morning and received an error not recognized USB.  I followed the troubleshooting tips and online help.  It seems that in most cases, if you go to computer management / disk management, you can see the external hard drive.  This is not the case with mine.  I don't see the player.  I downloaded the recovery software, but everything is based on the premise that the drive appears.  Mine does not work.  Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, this drive has probably went wrong.  Have you tried another cable to connect your player to your computer?  It may be a long shot, but it is possible that the cable could be damaged.  You may need to take your car to a specialist in recovery to recover the data.  I apologize for the bad news.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing the issue with the hard drive in the bios but not appear in the windows vista installation.

Given that the problem is related to the BIOS and a hardware malfunction as possible, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the computer for further assistance regarding this issue.
