Conversion of ProPhoto RGB profile sRGB. Major SHIFT of color

Hello
Just had a nightmare experience with print lab. Picture a) with Lightroom ProPhoto RGB profile completely different color image duplicated b) from Photoshop in the sRGB profile. When you open the Lightroom file in Photoshop, it keeps the ProPhoto profile. With Lightroom Preferences dialog box indicates that the profile should be ProPhoto not sRGB. If I convert profile after the opening image upward in photoshop for the worse color changes. However, if I change the profile in Lightroom preferences all is fine.

So what am I supposed to do? Y at - it somewhere where it is explained in easy to understand English and no tec?

Concerning

Oh my. I thought you said convert?

No, never give up. This will change the colors. Entitlement is used if you get images without any embedded profile - or, very rarely, if you think that the file has the wrong embedded profile. Entitlement is really an option expertise - leave it alone unless you know what you're doing.

Convert to profile is what you normally do.

Oh, and it's always a bad idea to 'play' with the Photoshop color settings. That will lead you inevitably more and deeper problems. Yet once unless you know what you're doing, always keep the color to the default settings. That "works".

  • Should I convert Prophoto RGB to sRGB in the Lightroom print module?

My question is about my image sending over for my Epson printer via the Lightroom print Module: when I'm ready to print from Lightroom (after the back and forth-Photoshop and back) I have a final image in Prophoto RGB ready to print. Lightroom manages print colors (not the printer). I'm supposed to do a final conversion of ProPhoto RGB to sRGB in the Lightroom-print module, before sending it to my printer Epson R3000? If yes I can't find how do in the print module.  I just sent the Prophoto RGB image for the printer Epson R3000 via printing from Lightroom module being (Lightroom manages color, not the printer). Am I missing a final in sRGB conversion and all simply not seen how via the print module?

    PLEASE READ:

    (1) I KNOW do Lightroom and the paper profile, manage the color and not to let the printer manage. It all works very well.

    (2) I KNOW not if I export a jpg on the web (do not print) convert to sRGB in the export dialog box.

    (3) I correctly my color spaces selected as ProPhoto RGB in my preferences of Lightroom and Photoshop, everything works fine.

    (4) my EIZO monitor is calibrated, I use appropriate document profiles.

Forgive me if listing these things seems obnoxious, it is not my intention. I find that give lots of information is useful to those who might respond.

    Thanks in advance.

I've never felt the need to convert. I have mild in using the profile paper appropriate to the evidence and then let Lightroom it's thing. Is there something wrong with the prints you do what makes you think that you need to convert?

  • ProPhoto RGB seems washed out

Hello.. I have been provided an image of my client who has a document of ProPhoto RGB profile that has beautiful turquoise and blue but when I save for web and download on the website, it seems washed out and much less dynamic.

How should I do?  Thank you

In the Web dialog box, check convert to sRGB and the jpg that results will be converted.

  • My color, setting for LR and PS is ProPhoto RGB. If I want to export my photos and place them on OneDrive or watch on TV of the photo, can I change the color setting in sRGB?

My color, setting for LR and PS is ProPhoto RGB. If I want to export my photos and place them on OneDrive or watch on TV of the photo, can I change the color setting in sRGB?

In general, I would recommend sRGB, if images must be consulted on the screens of TV or PC monitors. sRGB is usually the universal profile for sharing photos on the web. If you want to share your images on a single disc, most of the people will see their best, without changes in color, with an sRGB profile.

So it really depends on your goal. You use a player for sharing and viewing on backup and storage devices.

  • Why "Saved for Web" ProPhoto RGB files with "Convert to sRGB" show picked up as "no label" after registration?

For years, I managed my entire workflow to sRGB, thinking if I can make a picture look in sRGB, it is gold in another color space.  Lately, however, I started shooting in Adobe RGB and control my image in ProPhoto RGB.  When I save an image for the web, using the menu item "save for Web", then check the box that says "Convert to sRGB", the images are fine, but when I check the color profile in Bridge, it says "Untagged", not sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1, as I'm used to.  I'm doing something wrong, or is this normal?

    Thank you!

  • PSC6 black artifacts Conversion RGB and sRGB on Dell

Hi guys, I recently changed pc and monitor causing a bloody problem with these color spaces!

My monitor is a Dell u2412m and by default it is set to:

    Immagine3.jpg

Now when I open a RAW with ACR file and choose sRGB as the color space, the result is the following:

    Immagine2.jpg

As you can see, the majority of the photo shows black shadows. If I save the file and open it with the windows image, it is perfect. Indeed, if I choose ProPhoto for monitor and for photo viewing is very good:

    Immagine.jpg

I need to change the same RGB or sRGB color space before saving the final image so I really want a real Preview in photoshop to itself instead of saving first. If the problem occurs when I'm recording in RGB (less artifacts) and sRGB (lots of artifacts!). I don't understand this because I use the same default color for my monitor space. Any guess?

    The pc configuration is:
    Intel i7 3770

Beta driver Ati ATI HD7870 12.11

    16 GB of RAM

    It is probably this problem:

  • problem of "convert to profile" sRGB.

I'm new to Photoshop and I'm having a real problem frustrating and I can't just understand what I am doing wrong.

I have my workspace of Photoshop (PS CC 2015.1.2) set to sRGB. On the import of an image, I find that the colors are a little washed out, so I decided to go edit/convert to profile and choose sRGB in the menu drop-down. In the dialog box convert to profile I ticked ' preview' and while still in converting it to profile dialog box, the change of colors (I presume in sRGB) and look perfect. However, as soon as I click 'OK' to return to the main window of PS, the colors change immediately to rinsed. I click on convert to profile again to make sure that I chose the setting of the appropriate color and it is set to sRGB, yet there is absolutely no change to my image, except in convert profile dialog preview.

    What Miss me?

Conversion to a different profile is not supposed to change the appearance of the overall color. Colors should essentially remain the same, as the RGB numbers are remapped to one color space to another.

What it does is change the size of the color space, allowing more or less saturated to reproduce colors colocation.

If the preview to convert to profile changes appearance, which resembles an old (and minor) bug that I thought had been fixed long ago.

  • Best way to prepare images ProPhoto RGB for the Web?

Were you not satisfied by the answers you got this question on Luminous Landscape forum? I will repost mine here:

    ---

You should always incorporate the profile. With the notable exception of Internet Explorer (which seems to be a lost cause), most browsers now manage well of color management. At least Safari and Firefox both do.

Save for Web in Photoshop always band profile with default settings, you will need to check the "embed color profile". This setting sticks. Personally, I think it's well past time to change this default, but that's it.

While you're there, check "Convert to sRGB" and set to "use the embedded profile. This shows you the image with full color management (using the monitor profile to display). Here still SFW uses an obsolete default from the old days, when browsers were not color management.

If you use a range wide screen a few special considerations come in and in Firefox, a manual adjustment has be activated (color management mode 1) *.

Regarding resizing, I have no particular opinion. SFW seems to do well. But you should do a final sharpening after resizing, that needs to be done in Photoshop anyway, so he can probably handle resizing too. Construction while some actions and you are ready.

Firefox users should enable this setting in all cases, regardless of monitor they use. What it does is assign sRGB to any untagged material. This allows full color management chain, instead of just go directly to the screen unmanaged. IOW, even color management on hardware untagged, so long as it is created in sRGB with sRGB numbers.

  • Publication of a pdf document, Adobe RGB-v-sRGB is a problem?

    Hi people,

I use InDesign CS5 to produce a Yearbook photo to our photo club. The printer asked me to provide the subject done in PDF format.

I need to know, what the properties of color (Adobe RGB / sRGB) of an original image have an impact on the final result?

I ask because the images will be provided from a variety of sources and will probably in all kinds of formats/color, spaces etc..

If I need to convert all to one or the other, what I need to do this as a batch process in Photoshop or is possible in InDesign?

I know my way around image editors, but this edition is all new to me. Any advice greatly received.

    See you soon,.

    Eugene.

Ask the printer what PDF preset, he would like to be able to use in InDesign.

There are several print streams: some printers have no difficulty with a PDF file with RGB images with embedded profiles. They tend to have more recent material. Commercial printers may be useful to use the preset PDF/X-4, which would preserve RGB profiles in your project. In general, which would produce the best result. (For example, a lot of progressive printers use Adobe PDF engine rocks for which this is true).

Other commercial printers have older CPUs of PostScript. They want to convert RGB to CMYK and flatten transparency. He may ask you to use the PDF/X-1 profile. That will do the conversion for you and throw the RGB profiles.

Best answer: get more information from the printer.

  • Save the offsets of colors by activating / disabling out ProPhoto RGB in the course

I'm working on a portrait with the following specifications

    color space: sRGB

    8-bit/channel

    300 dpi

    TIF

When I do a backup as there is a check mark in the box that says ' ICC profile: ProPhoto RGB.  The printer wants the picture saved as sRGB, so I uncheck the ProPhoto and save without layers.  When I opened the file is saved, he has a terrible gray color to the photo cast.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Maybe you DON'T THINK that you work in the sRGB color space, because you can be misinterpreted the parameters.

Use the small field of status at the bottom left of your work area to see which profile is actually using the document.

To change the profile of your use of the documents to Edit - convert to profile, set - or - use the file - Save for Web & devices function with the option [] convert to sRGB .

The Camera Raw Converter can be configured to open a document in one of the several color spaces - I think you have your expected to open in the ProPhoto RGB color space.

Moreover, I still normally the following boxes checked in the Photoshop color settings to remind me when I open a document that is not in my favorite sRGB color space.

  • Should what color settings I choose for photoshop ProPhoto RGB, Adobe RGB 1998 or other?

Please tell me what color settings should I use to apply on Photoshop and Lightroom. ProPhoto RGB, Adobe 1998 or another? Thank you.

    Nice day!

If you work mainly for printing AdobeRGB seems a good choice, if you work primarily for the web, I would recommend to use sRGB.

  • Determine the entry and exit of Gamut values for RGB profiles

    Hi all

I'm looking how to check if a swatch value is within my range of .icc profile.

If I have a color value e.g. L = 74 = 12 b = - 37 and I want to see if it is in my .icc profile I select Edition > convert to profile and choose my profile

I can then select the shade and see if there wasn't a warning range.

With the color chart above if my color profile is 'Photoshop 5 CMYK default' I get the warning, if I change the profile of "US Newsprint SNAP (2007)"I don't get it. "

This works very well for the CMYK profile.

My question is how to check if the color is located inside a RGB profile?

I tried to change the intent of the paper Web and Digital Publishing and changing the RGB but only the CMYK profile profile affect the output of the warning range.

We know of a solution to this? The same question would seem to be in photoshop.

    Thanks in advance.

    Trevor

    Hi Rob

Thanks for your reply.  I need a solution that I can reproduce by script.

I have been in contact with Phil Green of the ICC and he said that if I convert my color Lab to RGB and vice versa if a difference between the original and the new laboratory values, then the color is outside the gamut of the RGB profile.

I have tried this before his suggestion and wasn't getting anything out of the values of the range.  I made the conversions using the user interface.

After his suggestion that I did the conversion by changing shades space using scripts and, to my surprise showed differences.

This provides the solution I was looking for.

  • lack of profile sRGB - CS4

    CS4 OSX 10.6.2

I need to download images of cover of book on Amazon, and they require a sRGB color profile. It is automated and don't post without this profile (experience).

    CS4 account sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1, NOT sRGB. Both had CS2.

Is there a way to locate the sRGB in CS2 and place it in CS4? And if so is it good to do?

Otherwise, I've attached a screenshot of "Simplified sRGB profile" of CS2 and wonder if I do this and call the sRGB, if it works.

Thought I ask before I try, because Amazon doesn't let you know if it does not, it is not simply posting, if you check a few days or more.

I'm sure they had their reasons, but I wish Adobe had not failed to sRGB.

    Thank you

    sRGB profile.png

If you had a sRGB profile that differed from the sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1, then it was a mistake.

With respect to the source: I don't know.  I remember not shipping with anything other than the official profile of Photoshop.

It could come from a demonstration, or MacOS, with a printer, camera or another application.

But you don't need to do any research, or anything like that.

sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 * is * the profile sRGB official and is available in all versions of Photoshop 5.0 and later versions.

He presents himself as "simplified" becuse full profile has some details that do not quite match the simplified INTERFACE you use.  It's just because you try to change something more complex that the custom UI RGB allows.
