Cooling module often works on Satellite M100-126

Hello!

I have a problem with my new computer. It works well, BUT the fan works when the core temperature is about 34 ° C and stops when it comes down to about 30 ° C.

If the fan works and stops quite often especially when I just use Word. So it's a bit noisy and I did not fund any solution to this problem. I tried all the possibilities with the Toshiba energy device but it is always the same.

I would like to have a permanent fan running no stop and go. Do you think that I would have a better result if I update the Bios?

Thant you for help me.

Hi Pierre

I think that there are not many things to do
Is the BIOS to control the fans.
The fan table that includes different levels of temperature is stored in the BIOS and this table fan tells how and when the cooling module has to move on.

> would like to have a permanent fan without stop and go operation. Do you think that I would have a better result if I update the Bios?
I understand you very well, but the update to the BIOS would only change this situation, if the table fan would change too. You can try to update the BIOS but I put t think that the table fan has been changed in the new version.

Greetings

  • Satellite M100-126 - Win 7 32 bit indicates 'only' 3 GB of memory usable

    Hello

    Here's the situation:

    I have a Toshiba satellite M100-126 (PSMA1E - 0PV021FR) running Windows 7 32 bit.
He had originally 2gigs of Ram, but after that my brother's cell phone broke down (motherboard failure) I took his 2x2gig of ram and installed in my laptop.

Initially, the BIOS detected only 3gig, so I flashed the bios than that recommended by the Toshiba Download Center, i.e. v 3.0, http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/eula/calleula.asp?ID=66238 direct link (if it works). There is also a version 5.6, only for Vista, but I did not use that one.

For now: the bios detects 4gigs and Windows, but windows says 'only' memory usable 3gigs.
Windows resource allocation, 1gig is 'reserved material', so this memory usable 3gig. If I replace one of the modules by a 1gig module 2 giga, I get only 2 MB of the reserved equipment, and 3 gigs installed memory are usable...

    Here are the questions now:
I am aware of the limit of memory for 32-bit systems, and that I won't be able to use the full 4gigs of anyway, but my brother got 3.5 GB of memory can be used on 32-bit system... Is it

    Hello

Win 32 bit can allocate only 3.2 GB (not 3.5 GB)
It is the limitation of all 32-bit operating systems.
I put t see any problems here the BIOS detects 4 GB of RAM. It s ok.
Windows can use 3 GB only because the other party is used by the graphics card.

The GPU can share a part of the main memory too and it also depends on the available main memory.

  • What cooling modules are comaptible with Satellite P105-S9312

I need to change computer fan laptop P105 procesor.
Can you tell me what laptop Toshiba model have the same cooling fan as in P105?

    Hello

I know that the Satellite P100 is very similar to the P105, and therefore the same cooling module must be compatible.

But in general, you should always use the same modules of cooling! Then, contact the ASP in your country and ask for these spare parts.

For now, using Wi-Fi with disabled Blutooth.

    Hello

In General, the CPU upgrade is not supported. Please consult this document: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ7A01ZW0007R01.htm
In my opinion, you should RAM to max level and optimize the operating system.
Believe me the CPU of your laptop is enough power for all operations.

  • Satellite L505-10N - strong cooling modules while gaming

    Hello

5 days ago, I bought a Toshiba Satellite mainly to play world of Warcraft and do some normal tasks.
The seller told me that this computer has been authorized to install the game on and it would be more correct to support.

As he says, playing on my new Satellite is a real pleasure, the game didn't lag at all and the graphics are beautiful... but the big problem is the breakdown that works loudly... all the time... and the computer heats very quickly...

Then I brought my computer to the seller who says that noise is normal and could not do anything about it.

I'm worried about this, this breakdown works abnormally, I never heard such a big noise on my other laptops, and it makes me think that this computer won't last long...

Is there a solution for this problem? Maybe I can change the ventilation for an another silenter? For sure, the seller will not help me...

Thanks a lot for your answers

    Hello

May I ask how you plan a game?
The laptop should be just like using a desktop application or like surfing the internet?

List man than the parts of s to laptop as CPU or GPU run with a yield maximum everything at stake. This means that the heat dissipation is very high.
This means that the cooling modules must run at max and also temperatures would rise to a higher level.

Have you noticed how strong desktop PC cooling modules are?
The noise of the laptop is nothing compared to the desktop PC!

  • Satellite M100-191 - right speaker does not work

Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite M100-191 with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit installed. It's that everything works well except the right speaker on the laptop, the same phenomenon occurs when I plugg the headphones, no sound on the right.

I did not change hardware or BIOS update. I use the latest audio drivers from Realtek, codec for HD Audio Codec Driver version 6.0.1.6649 ALC861, which I downloaded using this download link: [http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level= 4 & Conn = 3 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false], but no change.

I even tried to play with the sound, management options in the control panel as well as the related with the sound, special function keys to see if the problem got away, but it does not solve the problem.

Perhaps the sound card has a problem with its chipset and needs to be replaced?
I have two laptops, one Travellmate and one with Win7 Ultimate eMachines e620 and have no sound problem.

Any help or sugestion that you guys have would be very apreciated :)

    Hello

Have you this problem appears in the past using other Windows such as Win XP or Vista system?

    > Perhaps the sound card has a problem with its chipset and needs to be replaced?

The dysfunction of the sound card/chip would be the worst case, because in this case the motherboard needs to be replaced so I hope that s is not a hardware problem.

    Select this check box.
Go to control panel-> sound control
On the reading tab, right-click on the speakers.
Now new called speaker Properties window should appear.
Here, choose tab called level and click the Balance button.
Now, check if both controls are put right.

Before you continue just a matter of discussion:
Let's say I help you with this and damage you something or broke a plastic part, what you will do in this case?
I mean you probably know that you can get a few small important parts as separate components.

By the way: this description may be provided in the manual. Disassembly of the laptop is authorized personal only. When you buy a new car it is no description how to disassemble the entire engine, right?

By the way: Jeanine's right. See this page. There are many useful tips on laptop disassembly procedure.

  • Satellite Pro M70 - cooling fan stopped working

    Hello

I have a laptop M70, I have recently identified as not very hot when in use. I have now identified that the fan has stopped working.

Any ideas how I can get this fan, so I give it a clean and check that the connected fan isn't loose etc.?

    Thank you

Are you sure that your cooling module has stopped working 100%?
Maybe the cooling module is ok but cannot run with maximum performance and can not cool the CPU correctly because of the dust and debris inside the laptop?
What do you think of this theory?

I can tell you that I read a lot of stories and gossip on overheating problems and be more honest to these issues could be solved by cleaning fans.

I clean my cooling fans from time to time with a jet of compressed air.
These sprays are professional tools and can be purchased in most dealers specialized computers.

But if the fan has stopped working and then a jet of compressed air will not help you.
In this case, a technician must check the laptop.

Maybe the laptop must completely disassemble to remove and replace the defective part.
This procedure is really tricky and must be performed by a technician for laptop.

    Good luck buddy

  • Satellite C650D-126 - ODD will not work

I have a Toshiba Satellite C650D-126 and it has stopped recognizing discs although it is trying to read. I ran Microsoft Fix It and everything he had to say was "the disk in drive [E:] is not detected, or failed to load." - that being said, there was a DVD in the player and he told me that it was not compatible, but DVD still worked.

MFI has also said "the reader might be faced with a problem - the status of the device is ok.

Can someone tell me what I need to do to get my drive working again?

    Thanks in advance x

What operating system do you use?
Are you using the original OS that you got with your laptop or your own operating system?
ODD is recognized in the BIOS?
Is ODD recognized and installed properly in Device Manager?
ODD is listed in Windows Explorer?
    ODD readable disks bootable?

  • Satellite M100-221: can I use 2 GB memory module in a slot?

My Satellite M100-221 currently has 512 MB of memory and I want to bring to 2 GB. Is it possible to expand the memory by adding just a 1 x 2 GB memory in the expansion slot available? Or I have to put a matched module (2 X 1 GB)?

    Hello

As far as I know it of possible to upgrade the memory to 4 GB max.
That's why one a bank should be able to handle the module memory of 2GB.

So it of your choice if you want to use a module of 2 GB or 2 x 1 GB modules.

  • Satellite M100 - driver for network card does not work

    Hello

I have a problem with my Satellite M100. I downloaded all the drivers from the Toshiba Web site but for the network card, I can't find it works well!
Tried to download from the site Intel, as suggested by the other mailing list, but still can not work well!

Can order us a recovery disk with all the drivers for a specific series/model (i.e., Satellite M100)?

    Thank you.

    Hello!

You have yellow excalamation marks in Device Manager?
Normally, if you search on the Toshiba site for your model of laptop you will get a list of the different drivers and then you download the LAN driver.
Also, do you mean the network card or wireless network adapter?

Also, check the number of vendor as Akuma said.
On this site, you can enter the vendor ID number and device. After that, you can find the right driver.
