copper MXI noise immunity

Ladies and gentlemen,

Advice me please on the copper MXI link noise immunity.

that is, crashes to the top or other problems with it

Hi Current 93,

The MXI - 4 and MXI-Express conform to the standards of the immunity measure, control of process and Laboratory Equipment - 61326.  This information, as well as to other EMC nonconformities found in the section titled 'Electromagnetic compatibility' in the MXI-4 kit and MXI-Express user manuals.  Second, the two protocols have error correction to ensure that the data are received successfully, even in a noisy and hard environment.  If you are concerned about the loss of data on a copper line, have you considered using a fiber optic cable?

Comparing MXI to Ethernet, the two cables have error checking and are quite tolerant in noisy environments.  Problems with data loss on your MXI lines?

Thank you!

  • reduce bus MXI-4 speed

    Hello

I use a chassis PXI 1044 and standard windows pc with a MXI-4 link and I was wondering if it is possible to reduce the score between the two buses.

    Thank you very much

    Darren

    Hi Darren,

I was looking at your problem and I'm not sure what we can do. 10 m is the maximum cable length for a MXI - 4 copper connection, and I think that if you used a longer cable, the link probably wouldn't work at all.  I have attached a link here to the technical details of the specifications of MXI - 4. If you look at Appendix B, which gives a more detailed explanation of the limitations of the MXI-4 wiring.

Regarding the strengthening of the signal, a standard Ethernet booster does not work as it will not interfere with the composition of packets sent.

I agree it is not very nice results and I'm sorry I can't help you. I have summarized how I feel options available to try to improve this problem

1 change the link of copper MXI-4 for a fiber optic MXI-4 link

2 buy another copper MXI-4 link, a second chassis PXI and use the second chassis as a relay for the packets to the PC.

    3. try to remove some of the noise, casting the cable into something or he rerouting.

I would certainly be watching them try to divert cable MXI - 4 and watch also try some extra shielding to reduce some of the problems EMI but I think that the best option would be the optical fiber kit.

If you look at option 2, I highly recommend watching the NI PXI-1033 linked here, because is a chassis extension and the MXI link which allows you to extend your installation. If you are in any doubt, I contact National Instruments and talk to an inside sales engineer who will be better able to advise you on your question.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you very much

  • 5681 calendar view to 'reach '.

I do turn into some unusual problems, understand the time to sample the 5681 scope mode.

aid is of great help. Thus, a few quick questions, assuming a capture internally triggered 300mS RF burst with a portico at 50 to 250 ms is desired using 200 samples by default is desired.

I put my capture time to 300mS I appear to trigger on the correct side.

Why apparently do more than 300 ms in my capture?  What is the sampling frequency of the 5681? What effect does changing samples by capture or the duration of capture has on the sample calendar?

Protection against noise of the internal trigger is anywhere from 1 to 10 samples. One is no noise immunity. The first sample that rises above or below the threshold is triggered. If we define 2, you need two samples above or below the threshold to trigger. If a sample to survey/falls but the following does not work, we only fire and start waiting for the trigger. Because we now need two samples to trigger, we start to collect data about 14 microseconds later. If we want to get these samples back, we put the trigger delay to-.014ms. The same logic applies for higher amounts of protection against noise.

  • Detection of sounds

Does anyone know if there is a VI to do this

I would like to leave a microphone connected to the computer and if there is a noise in the room make a value Boolean true.

    any help is appreciated

This example is only by pulling a single value out of essentially a periodic table.  This will give very inconsistent results.  Joined a VI that can best work for you.  Run it with no noise and a threshold of a few hundred to get the normal background of your room.  Multiply your bottom close to 10% or 20% to add a little padding, then this set for the threshold.  Run and it should work.  Since you are looking for a pulse, the analysis is a simple measure of Ridge to Ridge.  If your background noise is very long, you can replace this with an effective measure to give you more noise immunity.

  • 9211 question; and also how to create a simple IP check?

    Hello

First of all, with the 4 9211 module channels for thermocouple input, I assume that it's OK to connect different types of thermocouple to different channels at the same time? (for example channel 1 - T type, 2 - E-channel type etc). Also why is the sampling rate for that ' sample/s 14' - seems low - but I can apparently run at much higher rates and labview complain?

Secondly, I would like to implement a simple temperature controller 14 channel FT. I had a quick glance at a few examples, but "PID Control-Multi Channel.vi" (for example) seems only a proportional controller, no full term. Maybe I should just write my own? Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Dave

    Hi Dave,.

I hope you are well today!

Yes, you can use different types of thermocouples connected to multichannel 9211 in one job. You can simply create a virtual task for a group of channels to the MAX to be aware of this. 9211 is measured from the channels one after the other by scanning through them (time division multiplexing), rather than take all measures at the same time. This is due to 9211 a single ADC, the cold junction compensation circuit and zero circuit automatic.

Now, depending on whether you use CJC and/or the zero function automatic or not, the maximum sampling frequency varies slightly. A comparative table can be seen on page 20 in the datasheet of the 9211.

I suggest the reason why 9211 does not support the higher sampling has been done its designed applications. 9211 is designed for the measurement of the overall temperature of the ground, and it is useless to the temperature of the sample from a point say 20,000 times per second, because in many scenarios the temperature does not change that quickly. Also, following the sampling frequency, noise immunity performance can be increased to the ADC.

Say if I apply for temperature monitoring, I would normally update my temperature every second reading or every half a second and who should provide an accurate indication of my environment. However, if you are looking to make measurements in extreme environments, alternative DAQ devices/sensor should be considered.

    Hope this helps,

  • Looking for a replacement of a copper PXI MXI - 4 lost PCI cable, a 1:1 cable RS232 work?

    Hi all

is anyone able to help me out of this misery?

    Thank you very much!
    Jürgen

    Hello Juergen,

Unfortunately you cannot substitute an RS-232 cable instead of the standard MXI-4 cable.  While both use a DB-9 connector, the pinout of each cable is different.  Even if you were to manually change a standard serial cable, that you could have interference problems of noise due to the higher frequency MXI-4 compared to the RS-232 signaling.

  • PXI noise 5105

    Hello

I want to use PXI-5105 on SMU 1071 chassis for strain measurment by conneting the strain gauge by the to 5105 wheatstone bridge circuit using BNC cables. I'm using Labview for the same thing.

    (i) I get the variable noise (0,008 to 0.010 V) with no connection to the input channel.

(ii) I'm unable to balance / minimise the noise to zero by subtracting signal from one channel to another (differential input).

    Data acquisition parameters:

Input voltage: 5V by DC power supply

All cables used are sheathed in copper cables

    Sampling rate: 5ms / s

Number of samples to read: 2000

We worked on the reduction of noise for a long time. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Vinod

    Hi Vinod,

Keep in mind the accuracy of the unit 5105 is specified to +/-2mV.

Also, you can check that your device has been calibrated on the outside and in his external calibration cycle.

When I watched a 5105 digital signal in a similar setup to yours, I saw the same kind of (about) + / 2mV noise.  I don't think this is unexpected.  Especially if you let the front end of your digitizer not completed, it could recover the additional ambient noise.

Why you choose to use this scanner for a measurement of the strain gauge?  There are several other products OR Lane County and specifically designed for measures of constraint.  Here are a few resources:

  • What type of connectors are used with MXI-4 cables?

I have two MXI-4 cards (PXI-8331). One in each of the two PXI chassis I have in the lab

I also three MXI - 4 A-03 190957 of copper and wish to connect the cables together using connectors (preferably two mini DB9 GEF/DB9 Fem sex changing connectors or something simular)

Once again the objective, in the first PXI to have a PXI-8331 that connects to a MXI-4 cable that connects to a mini connector GEF DB9 which connects second MXI-4 cable that connects then on the second mini connector DB9 GEF that will link now to the third MXI-4 cable that will connect to the second PXI-8331 in the second PXI.

Once again a long series between the two PXI-8331 locations using three cables. If these two DB9 connectors cannot be used what should I advise you?

Resolved, I called OR support and told me that the idea of "bulkhead connector" the mine would not work. The freq high through the Fibre Channel cable would cause conflicts with connections DB9 Fem/Fem, I planned to use.

Solution, find two MXI-4 cable where one end was sex male, the other female. Then use the third (male on both ends) cable to connect the two. NEITHER does not have these MXI-4 FC cables (DB9 M/DB9 F) but I found them elsewhere.

  • Elimination of noise from fan on a DV8000

I have a DV8000. There is a huge amount of fan noise. I do not mean that the fan is broken - I read the advice on the control for this. I mean that the fan is always on high speed. When I got it, the fan would come only occasionally. I put as many parameters as possible to avoid the fan, preferring more slow performance and battery efficiency rather than superior performance. And for the first year, it worked: the fan is stuck off almost all the time, unless I was running something really CPU intensive.

But the fan is now regardless of the settings that I chose to keep it off. When I start first, after the computer has been turned off for a while, the fan is off. But within minutes, the fan turns on and stays on. My House is not hot. The computer is in a cool place. The CPU usage is low. The ventilation openings are not blocked. Everything suggests that the fan will not turn on. But it doesn't...

Please help if you have any advice.

    15.4 "2008 MacBook Pro, HP Compaq 6510

My dv8000 did the same thing you mentioned. fan goes crazy after being only about 5 min and then started making grinding noises. Well, he was so bad in the end I did decided to disassemble, it and yes it is def not for the faint-hearted.  When you take it apart the fan is the last piece that you get. After an hour and finally undo the 4 fan screws that connect to the motherboard it just fell. The dough had dried just upward as said in a previous post. I also took the fan cover and inside was a lot of lint inside blocking copper fins.  I cleaned everything, am new dough for the cpu and the heat tape that is required to connect the cooler to the nvidea chip and chip. Put all back together and were surprised at the new found silence even after the computer for hours and play games ect.    I found a manual online showing how to disassemble but you should always make a good note of what screws go where.  As it was easy to put a screw in hold the motherboard. so when you put the screws of the box last few in, you can't because there is already a screw in there deep inside the computer that you shouldn't have put it in. (hope that makes sense). Total repair time 3 hours and a trip to the computer store. But so completely now. ;-) . Thank you all. your messages where a great help and I bined he or she sold on ebay of spare parts, if I had not found.

  • iPhone 6s more 'Phone noise cancelling' setting Grayed Out

I have a 6 more than 128 GB iPhone running iOS 10.0.2. I can't activate the 'Phone noise cancelling' setting in settings > general > accessibility > telephone noise cancelling because it is grayed out. I have attached a screenshot for reference.

I've tried hard restart my iPhone (Home + Power button) without success. Any help is very appreciated! Thank you.

    Hey there, Stephen Bond,.

Thank you for using communities of support from Apple! I see from your post that your iPhone more 6s on iOS 10.0.2 does not work as expected because the cancellation of noise from phone toggle is grayed out. I'll be happy to help you.

First check to see if the hearing aid Mode is enabled in settings > general > accessibility > hearing aids. If this option is enabled, then telephone noise cancelling will be grayed out as you describe. If this isn't the case and that the option is grayed out, please continue.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch - please backup your iPhone to ensure that your personal information is safe.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - this process will completely erase the iPhone to allow a new copy of the iOS to install. The first time, select "set up as a new iPhone. Once your iPhone is back to the home screen, check the setting of the new. • Buzz of noise in the tempo switch

My song has 4 different tempos. Every time that happens, occurs a humming noise. If I get all tracks FX behind it disappears. How can I keep the delay, but not the buzz?

    Thank you y´all.

Use automation for on/off switch of the delays to and after each change of tempo.

If that kills too late in the face of that time, and then introduce a Gain ahead of every delay, automate the Gain to cut admission to the delay when changing the tempo. Who will cut the whole track, however.

    Hello Jimmy10 66,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how it is important to follow your alerts, and I want to help you get your work again.

Before we get too far, it's always a good idea to check that your 'secret' button just above your volume controls is not engaged. If you see that the yellow indicator go ahead and switch to the other position to turn it off.

Alternatively, you can drag up from the bottom of the screen and make sure that the control of "do not disturb" is disabled.

If those who are for the time off, go ahead and restart your phone and retest alerts. If the behaviour continues or if you encounter any problems, please reach out again and let the community know what other steps you have tried. The entire community is here to help.
