• scanning/copying on photosmart c4480 problem

  Hello, I see a few posts on the lines when scanning or copy but does not when you print. My all-in-one has the same problem with a page of A4 size in black for 2 inches. After reviewing the scanner/copier (sorry!) thingymajiggy moving the defective area looks different with no bar top unlike the part that works, that would cause and this part of the unit is easy and cost-effective to replace? Sorry for the vague language.

• 7520 fax problems

  We have a photosmart 7520 we have problems with faxes. The printer is on a line of fax dedicated using the supplied cable. When the unit goes into mode 'sleep' we lose all ability to fax or receive faxes. The only way we can get back to the top is to turn the printer off and back on manually. It is totally unacceptable that we are unable to receive incoming faxes.

  Is it possible to totally cut the standby or low power mode?

  Please try now as follows to disable mode 'sleep' (this is taken from another post in the support forums):

  Left and right of the screen are a House (upper-left) and back (bottom left), Cancel buttons (lower-right, that there is an X).  You may need to use a flashlight to see them because probably they are not lit.  Key to the House of the sequence, return, cancel, retrun.  This should bring up the menu engineering.  In this menu select Menu Underware.  You will see a display similar to the arrows for a TV remote control (up, left, right, down, arrows with an OK button in the middle).

  Use the arrow key to the right and go into the system menu (the menu names are displayed in the upper left corner).  Press OK

  Use the arrow key to the left and go to the system mode timeout.  Press OK

  Use the down arrow key to set the timeout to 0.  Press OK.

  Exit by pushing cancel (bright red x in the lower right corner) until you have returned to the home screen.

• Can't update or restore? The shadow copy of volume? problem

  The last time I could work happily without errors was right until I downloaded IE9.  I have a x32bit. Dell PC and have Windows Vista Home Basic.  I can't do updates longer without error codes (80040154) as well as since I bought it, for some reason, I've never been able to use the system restore it always comes back with the unfinished system restore.  I'll try to run now just to see what error message is.since I did not note.  Can make backups, I noticed just recently, but did not have one yet.

  The problem that I continue to have is that I get an error message stating "the Volume Shadow Copy used by the system restore does not work.  See the event log for more information. (0x81000202). "I think that my system is unstable.  I no longer, since IE is unusable since October last I now use Google chrome or Mozilla Firefox.  A factory re install easier than anything else.  Please advise I have tried several times to follow the instructions given by others and it never works.

  The problem you are experiencing is Ethernet and wireless. The printer will not be able to connect with BOTH at the same time. The printer and computer that you are trying to print from, must be on the SAME NETWORK. If you are connected to Ethernet, the other must be.

  You can print wireless, USB, or Ethernet and USB. It will not be able to print wireless AND Ethernet.
