Council of low profile counters/timers

NOR (or someone else) made a profile Board low counter/timer? Perhaps with similar to 6602 record? If no, are there other options I could look in (I think that sampling rate may be too high to use USB)?

Hi greatgrandpadog,

Unfortunately, NEITHER has no counters/timers who are discreet about PCI solutions.

Our location simple cDAQ-9171 chassis USB has 4 32-bit counters/timers can be used by a clock of 80 MHz to edge (detailed specifications).  For external signals, you can use one of our module of digital I/o that have different characteristics.  You can find a list of them here.  This will be the best way to go for a compact USB counters/timers.  If you have additional IO, take a look at our CompactDAQ Advisor, where you can use a chassis 4 or 8 locations to develop your e/s in a single system.  For a more sophisticated control, CompactRIO offers a similar platform but with FPGA and real-time for greater customization and reliability.  There is a line for this even, consultant here.

Kind regards

    Thank you

Thank you for the information, @PeterHB.

Here are the system requirements for the card:

    The system configuration required
    • 1.0 GHz Intel / AMD CPU
    • 1 GB OF RAM
    • A free PCIe slot
    • A free location for the digital expansion
    • Internet connection for downloading drivers and software
    • Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7/8

The card is compatible with Win 7.  However, I have highlighted in orange system requirements you must check to ensure that they are available.  Apart from that, I think that the card should work.  I always offer the check with the Technical Support of the manufacturer is a good choice.  They are the experts on their products.

  • Power supply N6700B Low Profile pilot backward compatibility

    Hello

I've recently updated the instrument for the Agilent N6700B Low Profile Power Supply drivers on my system. I run LabView 8.2.1. For some reason, the new LabView VIs have all their VISA Instrument inputs and outputs incompatible with my previous thread and definitions of port at the top level VI. We don't know yet what exactly is different, but I need to remove the wire and the port at the top level VI and re-create it. Do this for all my screws where this driver is used is very tedious...  Is this really a compatibility problem, and this is known?  No work around available?

Unfortunately, I do not know what was the previous version of the driver N6700 overall.

One thing I noticed and found strange: on a separate system where the pilot works fine (which I assume is the old driver), the pilot of VI property indicates the revision number is 104. On the newly updated system, the same driver VI property indicates that the revision number is 16. Does this mean my update failed?

    Thank you

    Benoit

It was the source of the problem. I reinstalled the VISA type instead, and not everything works perfectly.

    Thank you!

  • Z Turbo Drive 512GB (G3G89AT): support low-profile for Z Turbo Drive 512 GB in Z230 SFF Workstation

Does anyone know how to get support low-profile needed to install a Turbo Z Drive 512 GB in a Z230 SFF workstation?

I realized this quick Spec HP card for my desktop which is located at the following link:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?DocName=c04123122

I bought a kit of option (Nr G3G89AT) directly from HP by phone. I asked the seller HP if the package included support low-profile required for installation of this card in my small Z230 form factor. I mentioned that I thought HP might decided to not include this support as a cost reduction measure. After consultation with someone on the side of HP technology, my sales contact told me that the half-height support has been included in the kit. Unfortunately, when the kit arrived, he did not understand the necessary low-profile support, although the instructions for the kit explain how to remove the flange full height and replace it with the mid-height. I learn that HP doesn't have a part number for this support, it is not possible to order one of HP.

The missing support wouldn't be a problem if the positioning of the screw half height brackets holes has been standardized. I learned from a search on eBay that the separation between the mounting holes on the maps of more than half-size is 54 mm, but the HP Z Turbo card has a separation of 51 mm between the holes. Therefore, I can't use a generic support for this card from HP.

When I bought this kit option at HP, I had already purchased the same kit of Alinc Technologies in Austin, Texas. Alinc kit arrived without a low-profile support, but, because the wrong Bill was included in the delivery and the envelope holding the card opened, I assumed half-height support had been lost. To find out how to get support low-profile required for map of Alinc and whether this map was under warranty, I opened the number of cases of HP support: 4752621264. It is through this support effort that I ended up talking to a person of HP sales. I bought the second card Z Turbo Drive with the idea that I would use the first map as a spare. The SFF Z230 workstation only accepts one of these cards, I can use a single half-height for both cards support.

If someone has the necessary low-profile support, I would be interested in buying it. Of course, I can change a generic low-profile with a hacksaw and epoxy support, but it's a very ugly solution.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

In order to get support low-profile necessary to use the Z Turbo 512 GB drive card in a workstation Z230 SFF, order must be for HP Nr G3G89AA (part No. 759771-001) instead of HP Nr G3G89AT.  The card supplied under the two numbers of HP product is Samsung P/N: MZHPU512HCGL - 000: 1, which is equipped with a flange full-height.

URL for HP Nr G3G89AA: http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/10782034/mfg_partno/G3G89AA

The tab "what's in the box" for this web page does not mention the inclusion of low-profile support, so I recommend that this product be ordered by phone and that the part number and product number is appropriate.  The representative business of HP needs to understand that the card is for a station of small form factor, then it will ensure that the low-profile support will be in the area.

I would like to thank the staff of HP support for the courteous manner in which they dealt with this problem.

So I have a HP Pavilion p6604f and now im considering buying a new video card to upgrade the shabby 4200 NVS. So I was wondering if a low profile card was good enough, or if a regular size Graphic card will suffice. If you need the specification, they are on futureshop:

    Hello:

You go into the BIOS, select the Advanced Options menu.

Go to device configuration menu and there will be an embedded audio setting.

It will be set to Disabled.  Change the setting to "Enabled".  Save the setting by pressing the F10 key, then again when you exit the BIOS here.

After you restart, you will have the on-board audio back.

I want to add an audio PCIe interface to my SFF 760. Pc specifications list the PCIe location as "low profile", but I don't know how low profile means here. How can I determine if the card I want will be good or not for this low profile PCIe slot please?

Never mind. I've found a workaround. There is a usb-powered interface that will allow me to be driven from the 760's monitor, no lack of usb ports on the 760.

  • Low profile & power graphics card for s3321p Slimline

Hi I currently own a HP Pavilion Slimline s3321p. It's a good system, except the graphics card.

    OS: Vista 32-bit

RAM: 2 GB (will likely move to 4 GB)

    Hard drive: 500 GB

    PSU: 160W

    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X 2 5000 + (2.6 GHz)

Course graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

You can find more details here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01297158

I know it's really hard to find a graphics card for 160W, but I really don't want to upgrade my power supply.

I would like to play the new Sim City 5, and specifications of my computer are satisfying the requirements (surpassing a number), except for the graphics. I need to at least 256 MB and the 6150 has only 128 MB. Could you give me any suggestions on a graphics card that will fill my computer and the power supply? Thank you.

    Thanks, help is really appreciated.

Also, I'm a bit confused about the difference between a chipset and a card, could you explain that? It is said that there is 1 PCI x 16 slot for a graphics card.

If you think that I really need a new power supply, could you give some recommendations? But I really try to avoid it, then, Yes. Thanks again and sorry for this post so long.

You have already linked to the card to your computer, but for good measure... Here are the specifications of original factory for your HP Pavilion Slimline s3321p desktop again. As you already know, there's only a non - ATX 160 watts of power. The only way you'll be able to install a graphics card in retail is to upgrade your diet. www.athenapower.com should have a diet that will power a graphics card with a system recommended nominal power of 300-400 watts power. Alternatively, you can contact HP, see if they have a low graphics power of cutom made card that will work with the provision of 160 watts of power. This option will probably be more expensive.

According to specifications, your computer has integrated graphics using nVidia GeForce 6150SE integrated chipset with up to 256 MB (512 MB or more of memory system). Basically, a motherboard with integrated graphics card has the graphics capability built into the motherboard. A graphics card, on the other hand, is a map designed to plug into a slot on the motherboard. As a general rule, a graphics card will be more powerful than integrated graphics card of a chipset.

Please let us know how you want to proceed and we should be able to help you any further.

  • Rate counters/timers

    Hello

I use the entrance of counter/timer on a map of 6040E for counting of events.

I use CTR0 and have specified the clock 20 MHz as my source and connected my event at the door (PFI9). I has a finite number of impulses and I am configuration of the buffer using the DAmx Timing (example of clock) vi.

My question concerns the entry of 'rate. ' Counter source is positioned at 20 MHz is not the rate? Can anyone advise as to how to choose a reasonable value and what effect it has.

I usually use the rate for analog I/o buffers in order to fix the rate of buffer - I can't quite see its use in this case.

    Thank you

I forgot to go to the part of rates, for counting of events, the rate is how many times buffering you your edge counter value.

IE I count photons a PMT, I would like to see the cumulative number every 1ms so I plug the source on the PMT and run continious at 1 kHz, every second, I read 1000pts and plot.  I think that this is how the rate.  For measurements, the clock is implied, there is no price since the edges of ascnchronous determines the time to write to the buffer.

  • 9402 internal counters/timers?

    Hello

The NI 9402 has an internal counter/timer?

The description of the product on the web page says that's, however the manual so that it does not mention a counter/timer.

Other web searches only refer to a counter/timer, when it is installed in a chassis.

If not, can anyone recommend a USB DAQ for monitor 4 streams (5V, up to 100 kHz) pulse rate?

    Thank you

    Erik

    Hi Erik,

The documentation is a bit difficult - the important thing to note is that the 9402 cannot be used with a USB socket: NI C Series Module compatibility chart. I recommend to visit the DAQ homepage and search by bus and meter number. It seems to me that you can possibly use USB 6501 which has 24 DIO lines, 1 counter and can read in at a rate of up to 5 MHz (and it is a mere $99).  If you need a little more which is always close to your price range, you can upgrade to the swankier USB 6210.  Hope that helps!
