Error: Failure of CPU fan

The original motherboard was not on my Pavilion a6528p. I got fed up with accidents several blue screen whenever I started to use it. Once he ran for a while (an hour or two), he has generally kept running. Worked to try to eliminate the virus/malware (multiple programs found no no), the memory test (used memtest86 +, ran all night without fault), CPU test (Prime95 torture test used, ran all night without fail) decided to try another motherboard. Not able to find a new, so decided to take a chance on a used.

The jury used (so far) has never crashed. It is therefore a good thing. However, every startup I get the message "ERROR: CPU fan failure! Press F2 to continue to start. "I believe that this message is incorrect because I ran Prime95 torture for hours test and the temperature of the Processor reported by CPUID HW Monitor program is around 52 degrees c for each carrot. When I run Prime95 torture test, the temperature of the CPU are much lower, around of 38 degrees C.

The HP support document http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00013522 describes in detail by selecting Hardware Monitor in the Advanced BIOS menu. There is no choice in the latest version of the BIOS, I installed on the HP website, which identifies as BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 5.43, 10/09/2009.

Because the help document is incorrect and no help, someone has ideas how to eliminate this message CPU Fan has failed, what happens whenever I start the computer?

JimK Hello,

Not all BIOS versions have the same settings and you're right that your BIOS is not this setting. Looking at what the settings you have (http://goo.gl/1mCvq) there is no parameter, you can change even not to ignore the message.

The motherboard doesn't like not the CPU fan that is currently installed, if the fan is not mounted in quick power enough, do not provide enough cooling, or is simply not sufficiently powered is unknown, nor can it be determined. You can try to unplug the CPU fan and reconnect to ensure a solid connection. Probably, you should be able to say that the CPU fan turns so you can figure out if she has no or not enough quickly.

Your options after that are to
1. process by pressing F2 at startup to work around the error
2. try another fan for processor to see if you can get the motherboard like.

N ° you should have cleared CMOS before installing the CPU. The voltage and FSB settings are different on the Athlon 64.

Remove CMOS battery and set the clear CMOS in position 2-3 then press and hold the power button to @15 seconds or more.

Reinstall the original CPU back in to check that all is well.

I'll win the volunteers here and explain others to profit from my mistake. I took out the old fan to match. When I installed the fan nine days later I have it plugged into the outlet of case fan. For a CPU fan, it is not the BIOS. In any case, similar problems on the forum gave me the idea to look for another job from outlet and it is.

    Hello

Use a can of compressed air to clean any dust from the fans in the PC.  With the side panel, power on the PC and still observe the rotation speed of the fan.  What do you see? slow, medium, or high speed?

Open the windows to RUN and enter: MSINFO32

Install the latest diagnostics for your PC. Start your PC and press ESC then F2 to run a diagnostic.  Run a complete set.

My CPU fan has failed. I replaced it with a new fan. Her works very well. However, I get the CPU fan on startup error message. After pressing the F2 key, the computer starts up and is great for the long hours of work. While trying to determine the cause of the error message from the BIOS, I found that there is nothing to select the advance tab. I want to know why this error message appears whenever I start the machine and how to solve it.

The new fan should equal the "rpm" of the old fan. If it's slower, you this warning. If its too slow, the computer will stop.

  • CPU fan failure

I have a Compaq SR5510F and when turn it on, the error message: don't have a CPU fan.  I took off on the side of the processor, and two fans that I see are turning very well and one that is in the box also turns fine.  Is the CPU fan, one upstairs that you can not without disassemble everything?  What should I do?  Anyone else have this problem with this model?

There are 3 fans in the SR5510F. The PSU (Power Supply) contains an extraction fan. The system fan is also an exhaust fan. The CPU fan is mounted on top of a metal radiator. The message "CPU fan has failed" is triggered by a sensor. The cause can be a dusty fan, or obstruct the fins of the heatsink or a fan that runs too slowly to dust.

  • Noise of Dell Studio XPS 9100 CPU fan failure CPU fan

My Dell Studio XPS 9100 did a loud intermittent noise for a few months and then last week I got a CPU fan fault message while booting. I blew all the dust from the fan and I always get the CPU fan failure message. I finally got the system starts by placing a small fan blowing air into the funnel will CPU/processor fan.

Alas, my warranty expired 2 weeks ago. I'm kicking myself contacting technical support a few months ago, when the problem started.

I need to replace the fan. What parts need me, and where can I get them?

    Thanks much for the reply.

Thank you. After being tossed a little I transferred to the sales and ordered a new CPU fan for a cost total which includes shipping and taxes of $42.25. Too bad it wasn't 2 weeks ago, then she would have been free.

The seller said that I would not need thermal paste. Is this correct?

  • CPU fan failure: Dell inspects the expedient to the customer before computers the they?

After waiting 11 days which includes I believe a week in the production of my Tower, 17/11/2015 I finally received my new Inspiron Desktop Edition Gamer (Intel). I turned on the computer and guess what I saw on the screen "CPU Fan Failure".  So now, I have to return the tower to a Dell for a tech to fix the problem with the fan.

Here's my question. Fact or not Dell inspect their product before they will deliver to their customers? Well, Dell has not delivered the product if a "CPU Fan Failure" had existed before shipment.

Unfortunately things can occur in vessels too...

Before send back you, open the case and check if the cable is correctly connected to the motherboard. The cable may have jumped out of the motherboard.

Just unplug it and plug it back to the motherboard. If it's totally off the Board, you can go to the Support page for this exact model and look for the link at the top of this page for the manual. Most service manuals show a diagram of components/connectors on motherboard and CPU fan connector must be checked.

If everything's fine, which solves the problem, so you won't have to send again.

  • CPU fan is broken. The errors come from overheating or a motherboard issue?

    Hello
I posted recently errors I get when trying to back up my hard drive.  The guarded computer stops the process.
    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-performance/full-of-errors-is-this-c-drive-f-drive-or-mother/dd41e1f8-c44f-466F-8cf4-d50f48abb0bd
Now, I found that the CPU of the computer fan is broken.  Do you think one of these errors come from overheating (UC stop) or motherboard problems (overheating or otherwise)?
    Thank you!

If the CPU fan does not work, it is very likely that the computer shuts down to protect the equipment against overheating and Amazon itself.

I would like to get the fixed fan before using the computer more long.

  • Kaput CPU fan

    Hello @Nana2004,

I understand that you get the error CPU fan has failed on your HP Pavilion a6030n desktop PC. I provided you with the HP support document: error: CPU fan failure, who will provide you with steps to try before spending money on a fan that you may not need. In the case where you need to replace the heat sink search number is 5187-5704 and can be found in a Google search.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great weekend!

  • Too loudly CPU fan speed

Two days ago, the CPU fan runs too fast and VERY strong.  I removed the fan and blew dust on the cooling fins.  When I removed the heatsink and found no dust behind it does not solve the problem. Put all back together and it works still very strong.  There was also a type of sealant between the processor and the heat sink.  I don't know what it was and what I should use it.  I don't know if the gasket would make a difference.  I have a Pavillion e9250t running Windows 7.  Would appreciate any help.  I am semi qualified but don't have any diagnostic tools and of course I cannot simply order a part on a basis of trial and error.  I tried to see if I could get a new HP fan, but he is listed as available only from dealer.  I don't know what that means I bought the HP device so there is essentially no dealer.  HELP please.

    Hi, John:

Yes, there are probably either something in your operating system, put such a load on your processor is it the cause of overheating, or the CPU temperature sensor has gone bad and he is sending false information to the fan to spin to the top.

... Or, it is possible that the motherboard has developed a problem too.

Go to your tools system and watch the resource monitor and check activity on the use of the processor and memory usage. You will see a list of processes and how many resources they use.

The material only easy thing you can try is to clear the CMOS and hope that, somehow, which resets the material.

Here is how to do this.

I always unplug the PC and press the power button to drain any residual power from the system first Board.

    Clear the CMOS settings

    CPU replacement

Hello!  I replace the CPU in my HP P6310F.  According to this literature, http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01949155 , I have an AMD Phenom II X 4 Quad-Core 9xx/9xxe/8xx (Deneb).  My understanding has always been that "9xx" means any phenom II in the class of the 900 series.

I bought a retail Phenom II X 4 965 Black Edition, part HDZ965FBGMBOX number, installed and get the error message: CPU support is not installed message.  After searching and reading about the error message and other messages, it seems it might be due to the 'black edition' and/or because it is 125 watts.  It was the answer to a few others in the same situation as me.

Can you please tell me why this CPU is not compatible and please help me with a list of compatible CPU?

This is also in the 9xx series, but is it at 125W

    HDZ955FBK4DGM AMD Phenom II X processor 4 955 - Quad Core, 6 MB of Cache L3, 2 MB L2 Cache, 3.20 GHz, Socket AM3, 125W, fanless, OEM

This lies in the 9xx series and is 95W

AMD HDX945WFGIBOX Phenom II X 4 945 Quad Core Processor - 3.00 GHz, 6 MB of Cache, bus front to 2000 MHz (4000 MT/s), retail, Socket AM3, processor with fan

The stock processor is an AMD Athlon II X 4 630, 95W

I can provide any other information you may need, thank you very much!

There is no AMD Black Edition CPU that are compatible with any PC HP desktop.

That's what the problem is related to. Black Edition CPU are special processors who have discovered the multipliers for amateur quality motherboards. You could not access the multipliers to overclock the CPU with the motherboard you have installed it anyway.

Even if you choose, buy and install one of the microprocessors in maintenance & service Guide there is no guarantee HP which will be exploited.

You should also be aware that installing a different CPU than your office has been delivered with the warranty.

    Sorry to bear bad news.

The good news is that the processors listed in the maintenance department & guide reputable reports of upgrade in discussions in the forum, to run.

    Best regards

  • «the cpu fan works not.» Check the fan connections and call for service. »

I was wondering if a failure of different from 'CPU fan has failed... system in a few seconds will stop. " I have an office of DX - 2000 P4 under XP SP3 that I just changed the motherboard and CPU fan on. All the fans are running at about the same speed. (P/S, chassis and CPU). Not very fast but cannot see the fins. Computer sat for several years. I was wondering what is the real test and how the fan speed is controlled. I suppose that temperature sensors built into the cpu, somehow, there must be a variable voltage applied to the fans to change their speed and/or a measuring device to see what is their RPM. This must be controlled by the BIOS as is any pass/fail test. My next step is to replace the old fan and see what happens. I have a new p/s to install should be here today. Actually used, but cleaned up and tested. Economy of cleanup. Not sure if my older diet could be the cause of the issue with low Volt.

If the fan is slower than the factory fan, you will have this problem.
