CQ40-310AU problem: will blue screen and wont even Boot from the BIOS

I got a CQ40-310AU in September 2009 and installed windows 7 ultimate on it. I got a blue screen while playing music in media player, but all of a sudden he went to BLUE SCREEN (with streaks of blue pixelation). I RESTART the laptop, REMOVED the battery and tried to disable it again, but it will not switch to POST; now the LIGHTS Flash. I followed the steps in the section support and drivers HP troubleshooting steps:

LED white screen error codes:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01443366

Result: Problem still persisted

I also tried to follow the steps:

'IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL' serious error message appears during startup:

If you have 2 sticks of memory, remove one and try again, if no chance to remove one module and try the one you deleted.

    Hello

Try restoring the system to a point before the crash - use Safe Mode. See if that resumes
all connectivity issues and/or helps the blue screen. Otherwise the problem could be network
or the wifi drivers and those who can may be downloaded and transferred to this computer on
removable media (CD, DVD, or USB drives).

Any advice on a solution?   I need to get this computer work as soon as POSSIBLE.

I ordered the Dell XP disc and did the re-install. It works fine now. The Dell technical support had me do some updates on the web as well. I have not had problems since. What happened with the automatic updates completely wiped out my operating system. At least I don't have to buy a new computer.

If nothing else works, try reinstalling your operating system. It worked for me.

To boot from a DVD, positioned on the BootOrder:

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Portege Z30-A-1E1 - blue screen and reboot

    Hello

    I have a model A-Z30-1E1 with 8.1 for Windows Pro 64-bit.

I have the problem of ad, randomly, I got a blue screen and restarting the laptop, without giving error messages.
In the event log windows that I can't find anything that clearly led to a cause.

I use a Toshiba Dynadoc U3 and I first thougt she had something to do with it, but the accident occurs even if I use the laptop disconnected from him.

Anyone had a problem like this?
    Any suggestions for debugging?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

I don't have a complete solution, but perhaps a step on the way.
I would say first to disable the auto restart when a blue screen appears.
This way the error message will remain on the screen until the PC is turned off.

Know how prevents automatic restarts here:

    Hello

In general the BSOD is the product of the problem of hardware or software problem. To check if it of software or hardware associated with deliver its necessary to reinstall the OS and check if the BSOD will appear using the new OS preinstalled.
Of course, it s painful to do that because the recovery procedure would format the HARD drive and therefore the data backup is necessary!

I don t think that the different input voltage might affect the functionality of the laptop computer because the laptop uses the universal adapter that supports entry 100V-240V.

BSOD can be caused by faulty memory modules so I think that this test of memory could be useful also

Of course cannot use a new P.C. like this Hey? I have a file a mile long if it is "they keep a good journal at all? So I will contact the Dell for arrangements to resume their JUNK. Their so-called technical support is aweful @ best. They have me so DARN confused I can't sleep at night knowing what I had paid for my new system and still having all these questions really now this is just crazy... I have also contacted "MICROSOFT" with these problems, as I have a warranty on the win 7 program operating system and when I called the first thing of this guy's mouth was, I had to pay their money $$$ for any type of support? NOW it's sad/mad/nutz out hey? All I know is that I'm the guy with the great Bill to refund my purchase and remains sure if I can't use the c.p. I'm not paying for it! and I don't want it, that is of no use to me! Hello

Sorry, but it seems that Dell does not provide a quality service for you. They have to replace their machine
with a new one that is fully functional and you shouldn't accept anything less. 3 weeks and they did not
fixed a new machine is excessive. Climbing with Dell and recover your money or a new.
