Create an ODBC/OIC OBIEE server connection.

Hello

I look at if there is a way to create an ODBC connection to a remote server in OBIEE or a way to get the data repository by other means (perhaps OIC?). The OBIEE server is on a remote windows computer and I am trying to create an ODBC data source in my windows machine local with the drivers of the instant_client without success.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I found that the problem was the odbc driver that I used. I had to use the one that is installed with the tool Oracle BI Admin of 32 bits (not DB client instant one).

I would have you post your query in the MSDN Forums, because it is addressed to an audience of it professionals.

Your request would be more out there.

  • Create an odbc Connection to query a Filemaker database

    Hi all

So, as a test, I have created an odbc connection to a filemaker database (localhost).

Now, I would like to know a way - using PHP to set up a connection to the filemaker database and execute queries on a local Web page.

    The USER DSN = test1

    database = MyDB

Q: How can I configure this connection to the filemaker database?

Thanks in advance for any help...

Theres a plugin here that you can use: http://www.fmwebschool.com/fmstudiopro.php

Also, take a look at article Adobe here: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/creating-asp-pages-using-filemaker.html

On a sidenote, FM Pro really isn't something that I advise to use on the "web", well, unless there is a specific reason that you use it.

  • How to create an ODBC connection to import objects to relational database

Can you please give me a step by step explanatiuon how create an ODBC connection to import objects to the relational database?

    Hello-

The path is relative where you store your files for Oracle. It should be similar to something like this:

    .. \oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1\NETWORK\ADMIN

the 'NETWORK\ADMIN' part should always be the same. If you have difficulties to find, just a Windows Search "tnsnames.

    I hope this helps!

  • Error when import to Oracle table (OBIEE Server Client 32-bit & 64-bit)

    Hi all

Problem: ODBC/OCI connectivity problem between OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 server (64-bit) and OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 machine local BP1 client (32-bit).

We have an 11.1.1.6.2 BP1(64-bit) OBIEE Setup on a 'Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise' 64-bit machine.

OBIEE dev team members have 32-bit local machines.
OBIEE "Admin member of the team" (who will work on RPD) to OBIEE 11 g customer (BP1) installed on their * 32-bit local machine * (which is a common software for 32/64-bit).

Now, two ODBC connections have been created on this local 32-bit Client computer, client 11g OBIEE installed on it.
A "server BI driver" for the OBIEE server machine(64-bit) to open the RPD and other connection with "Oracle database driver" to connect to the Oracle 64-bit desktop databaseto import tables.

With this configuration made, I am able to open the RPD in online mode and mode sampleapp existing related objects present in it.
But when I try to import metadata to the client admin OBIEE tool using the BEAK or ODBC, it gives an error "connection failed!"

I have the tns required in my tnsnames.ora file entry and I am able to connect to this database on the local client computer, using sqlplus.

Kindly let me know if there are restrictions in the use of such a combination of settings for 32-bit machines and 64 bits for OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 setup.
If this isn't the case, so what are the steps to do the btw client 64 bit and 32 bit OBIEE OBIEE server configuration to create the table of import job.

You can try using the OIC instead of ODBC connection type?
Implementation of the native ODBC drivers is not always do the job.

Also, make sure you have defined the TNS_ADMIN environment variable.

  • Server connection error

Series of photosmart HP 7520. -J' am trying to scan a document to send and keep getting the message "server connection error" despite the fact that WiFi is showing as connected. I'm not very good with technology! Can anyone help please?

Hello Alleycat1. I understand that you have a problem scanning to e-mail, about the connection to the server. If you follow the troubleshooting in this HP document, the issue should be resolved, as it contains troubleshooting for this error message: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=4022328&spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay&spf_p.prp_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c02524629-11%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

If these steps do not resolve the problem, I would like that you follow these troubleshooting steps (assuming you're the App on the front panel of the printer):

1 Select the Web Services on the Panel forward, then settings.
    2. Select "delete web services" and wait as the services to be eliminated.
    3. Once finished, you will return to the home page.
    4. Select the Web Services icon on the printer and go through the steps of installing Web Services once more.
    5. you will receive a more recent code. Later, you can use this code to add the printer to your account eprintcenter.com hpconnected.com / using this code.

    6. you can, or that you may create another email address.

    7. try a different scanning to e-mail using the app.

Please notify me when all troubleshooting is done, and I'll continue to help you if necessary.

  • Database MS SQL Server with AIX server connectivity issues

    Hi all

I am confronted with the below with the AIX server connectivity issues.

    Operating system: AIX 64 bit

    DB: SQL Server 2005

    EPM Version: Hyperion 11.1.1.4

Error creating socket to host and port 1433. Reason: Connection timed out: could be due to an invalid address

    Tired of Solution

    (1) checked the properties of TCP/IP, its permitted.

    (2) ping the source and target servers both ends all works fine

    (3) firewall is DISABLED in DB Server

    Hi all

My apologies, its number of firewall & network. Resolved by the Unix administrator.

    Thank you

  • Discovered a lot of upgrade and java server connection

I'm about to upgrade my 4.6 5.3 view connection server. If I bump the RAM on my server connection view to 10 GB, the view connection Server Setup will modernize the resources of bunch of java along the way?  The kb article and a SR, I had to open with VMware both said to uninstall/reinstall, but if I can improve I rather do.

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 2009877

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I think that the java heap is configured on a new installation.    You can always update your current environment (to the current specification) and then create a new CB in the same group of replica with your 10 GB memory footprint.   Which should allow an easy transition.

  • 11R2 Oracle on Win7 64 bit - 12154 ORA when creating an ODBC

    Hello world

    I have a problem that I can't solve.

    OS: Windows 7-64 bit

    I installed the 64-bit for Oracle11R2 client.

Because the need for some software that I use the 32-bit version of the client, I also installed the client for 32-bit, under the roof of Oracle, but in another way.

The path environment variable first contains the path to the 64-bit client, then the path to the 32-bit client.

Now, I have no problems connecting to all Oracle databases both of sqlplus and SQL Developer.

But in Control Panel, I can't create an ODBC data source to one of my databases. I get the error message is "ORA 12154 TNS could solve not connect identifier.

tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora are the same for both clients

    SQLNET.ora contains:

    SQLNET. AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)

NAMES. DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT, LDAP)

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Daniela

Odbc for 32-bit clients configuration tool is different from the one for 64-bit guests.

IF THE OPERATING SYSTEM IS 64-BIT

    IF ORACLE 64-BIT CLIENT

    OPEN C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe

OTHER (customer is 32 - bit)

    OPEN C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

    END-IF

ELSE (os and the client are both 32-bit)

    OPEN C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe

    END-IF

NOTE: If the configuration of a 64-bit client on a 64 bit OS, or to set up on an operating system 32 bit, the correct odbc administration tool is accessible through the control panel. Only if the configuration of a 32-bit client on a 64 bit OS does manually locate the executable file in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

  • VMView server connection

You can host the server connection on the same VMView Client multiple ESX hosts? Or, if this is not recommended?

When you work with Dell for architecting our system, they felt good with us buying a physical box dedicated to the connection to the server for our 160 user base. We have a unique management with three ESX hosts for clients Server / failover. They said that we could place the connection to the virtual server on a host, or create one for each host (3).

Is this a common practice? It would be perfectly although no no not a dedicated box? We have 2 Giga/NIC 2 - additional port by the host on which we can place in the riser to have these dedicated for hosts to vm connection if they were installed on the.

I just need some advice from the community to see if I need to go back and get a real box for this particular function.

    Kind regards.

    Yes, it works perfectly.
