  I tried windows troubleshoot the program from the support site, it detects a problem but can't fix.

  Device Manager shows the drive installed and work. The objective should not need cleaning, because the disk is less than one month. Please help, I have run out of ideas.

• Problem with VMWare Workstation combo, .vhd virtual drives and physical disks in the sector of size 4K?

  All,

  I suspect something wrong with some of my virtual machines.  I have been using these virtual machines for a while, and I see some weird behaviour recently.

  I see a lot of corruption in the virtual hard disk (.vhd based).  CHKDSK automatically gets performed many large files such as Oracle datafiles get damaged etc...  It all seems quite random and inconsistent, but I am using .vhd virtual machines in VMWare Workstation for years without problem.  This problem is new, and hard drives are basically unstable.

  I * think * (and I'm totally off base) that is perhaps the issue with my new external hard drives.  These discs have a 4 KB sector size, without e512.  Thanks to this architecture of hard drive, don't mount not the tools of Microsoft or manupulate .vhd files on these disks.  The questions seem to go away if I switch to vmdk or switch to the physical hard disk size-one-sector 512kb.  Because errors are not compliant, that I don't really have a way to document/prove that is the case, but it seems to be.

  I use version 9.0.0 on Windows 7 Workstation, and the guest is Windows Server 2008R2.

  My question is:

  (1) what meaning?

  (2) how I prove/document, since it is a contradiction?

  (3) is this a known problem?

  (Btw, switching HDD's vmdk is not an option in our case due to an obscure legal agreement with Microsoft.  I have to distribute my VMs in vhd format, even if they are designed to run on VMWare...)

  These discs have a 4 KB sector size, without e512.

  (I've highlighted "without e512" in "BOLD" to key in my answer to the host operating system.)

  According to the political support for the 4 K sector hard drives in Windows, Windows 7 does not support the native 4 K (logical 4 k sector size) but it does not support Advanced Format or 512th (size of logical sector physical and 512 bytes of 4 K) and that is can be the question.

  Check that you have slipped n enabled for your Start menu:

  ·         Right click on Start Orb > click Properties > click on Customize

  Make sure there is a checkmark in Activate context menus and drag and drop

  ·         Click OK > click OK

  If this does not help, you can try the following:

  ·         Right click on Start Orb > click on Explorer all users

  ·         Go to the programs > Microsoft Office

  You should be able to drag-and - drop the icon there.

  You can create the new partition of the available free space. For example, if you have 1 TB in C and suppose that 500 GB is free, you can do a right click on C in disk management and select reduce the Volume. Make sure that you have selected the new volume lower than the space available for free so enter you anything according to your requirement, but be sure that it is less than 500 GB. In seconds, you have new volume, call it as D or whatever you want. Similarly, you can create E, F and so on.

  I want to have a field of possibilities to follow what we call a 'operations rep"assigned to the opportunity. It would be a person other than the sales rep/owner. Prospects, I am able to do this by changing the name of one of the fields owner (the one with the default 'owner' name that is not bound to the 'Commercial' field, well that both related to the CRM user table). Into opportunities, I don't seem to have that option.

• I have more than one partition on my hard drive, how to create a shortcut to a particular drive from the desktop?

  I use two connections, staff and work. My 'work' connection I have one partitioned drive named "work" which I use as an archive / storage for all work related data, far from any current activity. How to create a shortcut for just this partition to 'work' on the desktop?

  Hi limomitch, Firefox will remember the last 'normal' window size by saving in this file you deleted (which Firefox creates new). To switch between the normal and maximized window styles, you usually just double-click the title bar of the window, or you can use the middle (the one between minimize and close) button in the upper right corner.

  If you find that the 'normal' window size has increased too, and if the lower right corner is not visible, you can try Alt + SPACEBAR. It is a convention of Windows on the scale to display the window control menu. If the size is not gray, press arrow down once, then the up arrow key repeatedly until the lower edge of the window is in view. Repeat with the left if necessary and right keys. (If the size is dimmed, choose restore and that might be all you need).

• Urgent: how to create a shortcut with a relative path?

  I put a set of files and folders nested on a server on a network location.  (Use of office machines Vista; I don't know that the server is running.  The files are a text file and two Office 2007 files).  Users will copy this set-up files on their computer (there is a program of VBA macro in a Word document, they need).  They need tomorrow (Friday) and the shortcut path gives me fits!

  The hierarchy looks like:

  MainDir
  File.txt
  SubDir1
  Shortcut to the Word file
  SubDir2
  Word file
  Excel file

  I don't think even the paths associated with the shortcut until I looked a little deeper.  Because I put all the files and folders together on my computer, when I did a drag - move in the folder on the server, the target properties and start in the shortcut always pointed at my computer!  So now, I'm afraid that a user copy this on their machine will have a shortcut that points to ~ my ~ computer, instead of the file on their computer.

  I deleted the shortcut located on the server and creates a new one from the Word file in the directory on the server.  Better - I think - but it still points to the location of the server.  And it is even more likely that, when the user opens the shortcut, it will try to open the file on the server, vice the file on their computer.

  How can I create a shortcut to this Word file that will pick up the relative path from around where to reside?  I can just click > properties and change the target and start in paths?  Or do I need a VBScript or VBA?

  I have to get this done fast!  A kick - in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

  It is not possible to create a shortcut with a relative path.

  You can try the following allows to bypass and check if it helps:

  Create a shortcut to cmd.exe running the start command to open the current directory. Then set the MDC in the

  The shortcut properties.

  a. make a new shortcut to: cmd.exe /c start.

  b. now right-click on it and get the properties of the shortcut (shortcut tab).

  c. the shortened full path must have been set to this:

  %windir%\system32\CMD.exe /c start.

  d. set the directory of "start in" (i.e. DLG) to be a relative path:

  (Example for a shortcut on the desktop)

  ...\SendTo

  e. click on "change icon...". "and set" look for icons in this file: "to: %SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll and press ENTER.

  Standard folder icon will probably be in the lower right.

  f. now you can copy this file and simply change the "start in:" to make new related shortcuts directory.

  NOTE: The above steps are just an example, so try this at your own risk. And check if it works.

• How can I safely create a partition on a drive already bootable

  I recently bought an external hard drive to 500 GB with the intention of using it to store large files that I use on my Mac and use it as a drive bootable to Windows.

  I followed this tutorial to make the bootable drive on Windows 10, everything works well for the part.

  Now, I want to be able to partition the drive so that I can have the 2 parties for Windows (1 part that contains the info to start, 1 that contains Windows) and 1 part that I can use on the Mac side to store files. I thought I could easy to use operation of partition on disk utility application, but the operation is grayed out. I found a lot of answers on the forums, but none of them is exactly what I'm looking for. No idea how I can achieve this?

  This disc is an MBR disk with an NTFS partition full using the disk set. Disk utility cannot resize an NTFS partition.

  You'll need to create a partition, once Windows is installed, or erase the disc and convert a GPT disk, partition first with a part for Mac and then perform the steps in the tutorial of the game for Windows.

  If you look at step 12, using the rest of the disc completely.

  You don't mention the distro you use. Archlinux with XFCE, for me I just to right click on the desktop, then click on 'link URL '.
