Creation of Flash UDB disk recovery disk

I have a Compaq CQ10-500SA which has Windows 7 starter edition preloaded.

I tried to create a recovery to a new 16GB flash disk disc using HP recovery media creation.

This process did not work on the first attempt and the message said I should try again.

I tried a second time, but I don't know if it worked or not.

Is it far from clear if the recovery USB disk is working properly? (How I would use anyway?)

Your advice would be much appreciated.

Try to start the computer from the flash drive. It should bring you to a menu with dining options. Make sure that you can select the USB from startup to startup options. You may have to say try the USB key before going on the hard drive of the computer.

If you tell him to boot from usb and it does not work, you may be able to rerun the utility of creation. Try formatting the USB key before trying again.

  • Cannot copy mp3 to flash hard disk files

I can copy any type of files from my flash drive in my PC, except the mp3 files. An i/o device error when I try to copy the mp3 files on my hard drive and after this error, I can't access my flash disk root and records. and I have to unplug flash USB port and plug in again to access the directories in my flash. This failure occurs after you copy one (or sometimes 2) mp3 file and a few times I can even copy a single file.
But in the other PC, I have a problem like that. in fact I think that something goes wrong and denies access to mp3 files in my PC.

    Hi Reza,

Yes, I think so too. Given that the other flash drive works fine, the problem could lie in this drive. Contact the manufacturer and see what they have to say.

  • Creation of partition using disk management in Windows 7

    Hi all

I am setting up a new laptop and I have a question on the partitions.  Creating partition in Windows 7 disk management has the same effect as the creation of a partition before installing the operating system?

For example, let's say we reduce C drive Windows 7 preinstalled C and D through the Windows 7 disk management tool and use the D drive for drive C for Windows and data.

If Windows is corrupted at some point in the future, the scores also get corrupted?  If this is the case we gain nothing - so we could have a data folder in the C drive instead of split-C and D.

Someone told me that the above method is different from creating a partition before installing the operating system.  If the partition is created beforehand, the partition is safe even if the OS is corrupt, so you don't lose your data.

    Is the above correct?

    Thank you!

Creating partition in Windows 7 disk management has the same effect as the creation of a partition before installing the operating system?

-> Yes, but you will find that the native disk management refuses to shrink an existing partition by more than 50% (if there are only!).

If Windows is corrupted at some point in the future, the scores also get corrupted?

->, Depends on where the damage occurs, the file system or partition table.

If this is the case we gain nothing - so we could have a data folder in the C drive instead of split-C and D.

-> There are two big advantages of having your data on a separate drive:

-L' backup image you create system partition is much smaller and does not grow.

-When you restore an image, your data is not overwritten.

Someone told me that the above method is different from creating a partition before installing the operating system.  If the partition is created beforehand, the partition is safe even if the OS is corrupt, so you don't lose your data.

-> There is no difference. A partition is a partition, regardless of the way in which you create it.

OK, I'm trying to copy a file to a flash drive.  It crashes when you try to copy and then gives me the error message "cannot find this point, located more in the computer.

I tried to drag and drop several different files and file types, and I get the same error message.

I tried several different flash drives and I get the same message. All flash drives that I tried on this computer work on other computers and I can drag and drop files on the flash drive.

I've tried several different USB ports on my computer and I still get this message.

What size flash player do I need to create recovery windos8 media

    Hi Patricia,

Thanks for choosing Windows 8. We are pleased that you have filed this request in the Microsoft Community Forums!

According the description, it seems you are trying to create a bootable Windows 8 recovery disk using the USB flash drive and wanted to know the free space that the flash player should have to create. Let me know if I'm wrong.

To create a recovery disk bootable Windows 8, the drive must have at least 3 GB or more space free available in.

I hope this helps. Feel free to get back to us for further questions on this.

    Thank you.

  • creation of base of vista recovery disc

I would like to build a recovery for my laptop vista Basic. How can I do this

    Vista preinstalled:

Most computer manufacturers have a feature to make your own recovery discs - check your manual if you don't know how (the process is different with each computer).

    Retail Vista:

You can use a hard drive program imagery - both below both allow you to make a boot disk to start the recovery, and the two programs allow you to split the backup on several DVD. A system image will restore your computer to its state exactly when the image has been made - which will save you the trouble of having to reinstall Windows and installed everything currently at new, and it takes much less time to do.

  • An error occurred during the creation of the factory data recovery - how can I know what is the error?

I have a new Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop.  Trying to create a backup on an external hard drive plant.  I tried to attach the USB at various times in the process and several USB ports, but always end upward with the same error message ' year error occurred while creating the factory recovery data.

I tried to "update", but when I select UPDATE, the only option is to UPGRADE to premium, I can't find a way to UPDATE.

This is the end of the story: I had two sessions of phone with Dell Technical Support, and their solution was to send me a flash drive with backup and restore files.  The next day, I got a Dell alert that a new backup and restore (version 1.9) download is available for Dell computers, which were updated to 10 Windows (what I did as soon as I got my new laptop).  I had the chance to download the file and run it today, and it works.

Thanks for your suggestion.  It seems that my problem occurred just in front of the Dell solution.
