  If you have Photoshop CS5 saved with Adobe, you are eligible to move to Photoshop CD6 for $199.

  It doesn't matter if CS5 was itself an upgrade from CS4 versions.

• CS5-> CS6 upgrade hangs, block the windows Task Manager, does nothing else

  Got the CS6 Design Standard update, hoping to upgrade from CS5 Design Premium. Could it be the problem? I don't have all the added bonus and this stuff is ridiculously expensive.

  In any case, I put the disc, nothing happens. I run the set - up.exe, the disc spins, then nothing continues to happen. I watched it for up to 5 minutes and nothing.

  Set - up.exe isn't in Applications, but it's in the process in windows Task Manager. However, there is no real activity at all. When I try to end the process, WTM crashes. I have to every hard reboot or eject the disc in order to recover.

  What gives? I can post PDApp.log if need be, but I don't know how much help it will be.

  So it turns out that it was the reader. I installed an internal DVD SATA drive and it ran the update without fault. Just in case someone else stumbles across this post with a similar problem, make sure that you do not install the update of an external USB DVD drive, specifically a Samsung SE-S084. It won't work.

  I upgraded to cs5 to cs6 on my workstation... worked well. I can't upgrade my laptop. Is the upgrade for only 1 computer?

  everything goes well with your upgrade, if it was then it would not have worked on different computers.

  Hi there - would appreciate a helping hand on what I'm sure is a very basic request - I purchased the CS5 CS6 upgrade online about 3 days ago and signed in and find my order, clicked on it and did what I thought was 'Download', whereas download and then download window disappeared and I thought he'd jump upward with 'Run' or similar , but nothing happens. This has happened 3 times. I have been using the net session Akamai - I checked in my downloads folder each time and there is nothing there. My order and the serial number now appear in the downloads section of my account at Adobe so that apparently means that it is downloaded but I can't find anything! Thank you people

  I basically followed the steps suggested by this note useful forum (which reproduces what was in the email that the Adobe store sent me:)

  • Click on Akamai Download Manager and follow the instructions on the screen.
  • If you prefer to download directly in a browser, click on another upload method. Then click the .7z and .exe (Windows) files or the .dmg (Mac OS) file to download the software on your computer.

  I bought the Premium CS5.5 Production in 2011. Then, I bought the CS6 upgrade (boxed version). After the disaster of security at Adobe, the keys were struck down. So when now the years of purchase, I wanted to use my product, Adobe said: I had to download the CS6 (6 GB) file from the Adobe server. I did it. After having unpacked, the Setup program indicates that a file is missing and I should use a tool which is now not on the Adobe site because it has been discontinued.

  It would be nice if someone had an idea how to make this work.

  You must download Photoshop CS6 and enter the serial number for Photoshop CS6 and then you will be prompted to enter the serial number of product qualification.

  Enter the serial number CS5 to install and activate Photoshop CS5 on your machine.

  Yes, CS5.5 is a separate and different version. If your operating system series CS6 related specifically to CS5.5 it may not work. Generally speaking, however, it could work. Anyway, if you have any questions contact customer service.

  N ° CS6 settles in its own folder. You can continue to use CS5 and CS6.

  Not the disk. Just the serial number CS5. Keep all the serial numbers very safe and very convenient for later use.

  When you reinstall CS6 (new or re - build the old one) just install the CS6 upgrade disc (even if no Adobe product has already been installed on this computer).

  The CS6 installer will ask the CS6 serial number and will recognize that this is an upgrade. He then ask you to enter a serial number for a longer early version. Enter your serial number CS5 and CS6 will complete the installation.

  I answer to my own post. I discovered that my CS5 is a fake. The packaging looks good with holograms etc. and was bought at a very large company online. I used it for over a year. It is only when you upgrade that you discover. Online company focusing on it.

  Bought the student/teacher version of CS5.5 within the free upgrade period (April 13 or 14th) on Adobe.com. I have yet to receive the CS6 upgrade email (currently June 1) and there is less then 5 days left on the CS6 trial. Many requests for support and discussions simply responded that I am approved but wait enamel. I have recently been informed after talking with someone, that I have not received the e-mail of upgrade because it is blocked by identity-e, despite the fact that the evidence of enrolment was provided directly through adobe.com and my profile indicates that the eligibility of the student/teacher runs until October 2012. Asked by the live person at Adobe to just send proof of identity-e, and that the update email will be sent. This has been done and I have still not heard anything e-identity, and there is no way to verify anything with them without a product code (which I have not since it was a digital download). It's extremely frustrating and a wrong way to do business. I don't know when or if it will never resolve. It was never the intention to buy CS5.5, but for the free offer, which was made for CS6 as well - we really would have just waited and bought CS6 when it came out there were not the offer. Now nerarly a month after that CS6 shipped of our trial version expires and is no longer, we will be able to use CS6. I don't know what else can be done or if others have worked through this strange experience?

  Thank you, Jeff, for looking into this. On a bright note, the serial number just shown in my inbox at the start of the Friday evening June 1, from the Adobe Store - just out of the blue. Not sure that the block was, or why there was a block, but I am happy that it is now resolved. Thank you to Adobe is a very large organization, and I don't know there is a reason for what happened, but I do not profess to understand what it was.

  There should not be any problem in upgrading and switching of the operating system.

  If you want to upgrade to CS5.5 or CS6 MAC CS5 Win, you can do. Its called Cross-platform upgrade.

  I recently bought the CS6 Design Standard upgrade version to upgrade my existing CS5.5 Design Premium. Installation went much until I got a message that my installation of CS5.5 isn't a product approved for upgrade. If this is true, it is possible to change my version of CS6 upgrade to the full version? Of course, I realize that there will be an additional charge for this. Thanks for any help!
