    Actualyl you did it wrong by install CS3 without a serial number. The upgrade Setup will looking for a specific set of files that product activation. If possible, you can try to activate. Otherwise you could try the opposite - Uninstall CS3, run the Creative Suite cleanup tool, remove the caps.db in the folder selections and only install CS6. Then it should only ask the CS3 serial for verification in the second step...

    In fact, we noticed that there also seems to be something wrong with the timestamps:
    If we open the news via the MAC finder to a file (.psd for example) which is linked to one of our indesign files, it has a certain date of creation.
    If we then switch to the Indesign file that we just opened in which we had to update all the links and open information to exactly the same file looked at us in the finder, another creation date is indicated. So there also seems to be a mistake here (hope it is clear what I mean).

We have created several test files in Indesign (simple white page with a link to a .psd file which is also used in one of the allegedly defective files) and opened on different MACs with different versions of the OS over the past few days/weeks, but unfortunately files open without notifications or errors.

    Just as a background: a few months ago the problem seems to occur between MACs with different OS, 10, 6-10, 8 first. A file that was created on a MAC 10.6 could not be opened without updating all the links on a 10.8 Mac is why we've updated everything to 10.8. The error will not occur for about 2-3 weeks but then reoccured again. ?

    I've just loaded Photoshop CS6 upgrade (from CS5) and when I go to start the software, the main office opens but the software crashes right there.  to close, the only way is to use the Task Manager which says that the software does not.

    I downloaded Adobe Audition CS6 and installed without problem.

    I try to activate it, but all the codes I use are rejected.

    I initially bought full version of Adobe Audition 1.5 and purchased upgrades for 2.0, 3.0, CS5.5 and CS6

    The activation process will not accept my CS6 upgrade code, or my original code 1.5 - or anyone else in between!

    How to activate it?

    Note: I have correctly installed and activated on an another existing MacBook Pro - CS6 also mine - and I intend using only one copy at a time - this last installation is done on a MacBook Air for remote working, portable (mainly in the form of work to freelance in the rooms). Is it possible to have it installed and activated on two Macs? I rang Adobe when the version 2 for PC and they indicated that installation on several computers was OK if personal and using a single copy at the same time - maybe it has changed?

  • CS6 upgrade crashes when the installer unpacks download

    Recently bought cs6 upgrade of cs5 for windows 7 online and was sent the link to download, which in itself is confusing because there are links to files at least 5 and I don't know which one to use and for what.

    I have download (twice) the large with the extension z7 photoshop file and the much smaller photoshop.exe file. This happens to a fresh install on a new system. no other product Adobe have been installed

    next to the free version of the reader. I have 55 GB of free space on the ssd drive that houses all the operating system files. I also have a standard sata drive with 935 GB free. I have all permissions on both. I run the exe with

    "Run as administrator" checked. I tried living on both drives and tried to install the drive resident or the other disk all with the same results.

    The error message after about 5% of unpacking of the download and then a quick jump to 98% is displayed (such as a 1/10th of a second or less, just long enough to read) and then the message

    Thanks for the info Jeff, have not taken the time to post what worked again because I just got the installation through this morning.

    I was getting the correct version of windows, I bought from a vendor online who sent me the link that takes me to the Adobe Volume Licensing.

    There are no instructions was just a list of files. Anyway after reading the compression utility reported broken files I did some research and found on the Adobe site.

    the place where I could download software, since everything is now creative cloud. I found the link for photoshop cs6 and took a chance and downloaded.

    It matched what I had downloaded from the link sent by e-mail. same name and same size of the file so this time when I clicked on setup it open

    and unpacked all the files in a few minutes and I was off and running. So my assumption that the link points to a version that is corrupt seems to be true.

    I note now that I have some problems after installation, indicating that the 32-bit version and 64-bit Microsoft C++ 2010 redist. version has not installed correctly

    and some other questions like this. I got the program to register, but in all honesty, I'm not even sure if it still works because I have not yet tried to open it.

    I downloaded the latest version of Microsoft and he tells me that it can not install because there is a newer version already installed.

    Then the big hurdle disappeared, but the smaller still.

  • Having trouble getting a CS6 upgrade to recognize my serial number

    I bought a new iMac today and ready to load my new software CS6 upgrade package that I bought. I disabled my old software CS3 on my other computer. But still, it will not allow installation to go by - not recogize not serial numbers (former #s of the CS3 package). Is there something that I am missing? On a deadline on a project and would appreciate any suggestions. What I have to install the old CS3 on this new machine and then run the CS6 upgrade disk to install correctly?

    Thanks for all your suggestions. It turns out that the problem was a simple and a time "duh" for me. I figured I'd use my old serial number CS3 upgrade loading. So didn't even look for a new serial on the CS6 box no. So for the stage where Adobe was waiting for the new serial No., I walked into the old one. The old serial no is not necessary until after you have entered the new. Another case where sleep and think more clearly the morning contributed to cleaner air. Enjoy your time! Now to the other more tiny set of questions which harvest whenever you update!

    I wanted to just ask you a few questions about my upgrade of the 'tech guarantee' CS6 for my copy of student CS5.5 (which I bought in May this year).

    I have registered my serial number CS5.5, but have not installed. I applied the CS6 upgrade and CS6 shows also availible in my 'my orders' on my account. So, if I can ask

    (1) is my serial number entrusted entirely to CS6? As in, I have the DVD for CS5.5 but now I do actually own CS6 and can download it now and in the future as a result? In other words, is the CS6 entirely mine as if I bought it directly?

    (2) is there a time limit for me to download or activate the CS6? (There was a time if August 5, gave me with my purchase at the end of the claims, but they I ask for now is even if this isn't the case downlaoding and installation?)

    (3) I am planning on buying a new computer, but not sure when. It may be that I install on my current PC CS6 and find yourself a few weeks later having to move to my new PC. Woudl that cause problems, given the status of 'upgrade' and the fact that I would have installed for the first time shortly before? (If necessary).

    2. as long as you have already claimed your upgrade free and been accepted for reasons to buy during the eligibility period.

  • Bought CS5.5 by Adobe for education, but still no CS6 upgrade

    Has anyone else had the following problem:

    Bought the student/teacher version of CS5.5 within the free upgrade period (April 13 or 14th) on Adobe.com. I have yet to receive the CS6 upgrade email (currently June 1) and there is less then 5 days left on the CS6 trial. Many requests for support and discussions simply responded that I am approved but wait enamel. I have recently been informed after talking with someone, that I have not received the e-mail of upgrade because it is blocked by identity-e, despite the fact that the evidence of enrolment was provided directly through adobe.com and my profile indicates that the eligibility of the student/teacher runs until October 2012. Asked by the live person at Adobe to just send proof of identity-e, and that the update email will be sent. This has been done and I have still not heard anything e-identity, and there is no way to verify anything with them without a product code (which I have not since it was a digital download). It's extremely frustrating and a wrong way to do business. I don't know when or if it will never resolve. It was never the intention to buy CS5.5, but for the free offer, which was made for CS6 as well - we really would have just waited and bought CS6 when it came out there were not the offer. Now nerarly a month after that CS6 shipped of our trial version expires and is no longer, we will be able to use CS6. I don't know what else can be done or if others have worked through this strange experience?

Not sure that the block was, or why there was a block, but I am happy that it is now resolved.
