Curve of defective 9380 of blackBerry Smartphones

I understand that my Blackberry curve 9380 comes with a 2 years manufacturer warranty. It does not work and I can't get it fixed, how I go back to Blackberry under the terms of the warranty? I posted the question here but not been successful in getting a solution. Please notify.

Thanks for doing this, now talked with your dealer (Phones4u) who send me a package in which to return the defective unit. On the support line was excellent. It's after twice visiting my local branch of Phones4u who wouldn't know (in-store, product knowledge was horrible) thanks for your help.

  • Curve of loss/theft of blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello.

I just had a question about the Blackberry Curve. Is I got mine get lost/stolen (a combination of the two) last night. He followed... GPS is anyway that can be used to track it? Or y at - there someone I can call to get the locked Blackberry so that it cannot be used?

    Thanks for the replies.

    1. the GPS can not locate the device UNLESS you have already loaded a program on the device to allow you to follow. There are apps available for it, do you know if you did?

    2. the unit cannot be wiped remotely unless you have already loaded a request to do so, (as RobLock, I recommend, for one). Or if you're on a corporate BES account, the BES Admin can send a command to the wipe.

    3. call your carrier and the law enforcement agency and report it lost or stolen.

There isn't much else you can do, unless you have taken preventive measures.

    Hello Bianchi

    Welcome to the community

I know how it feels to have this error.

First of all, please update the BlackBerry smartphone to the latest version of BlackBerry Device Software available before contacting the service provider wireless for repair or replacement options. For instructions on how to update the BlackBerry Device Software, visit the website of BlackBerry Device Software Updates or see KB03621.

If the problem persists after reloading or upgrade, contact the vendor of wireless services for repair options or replacement should the smartphone BlackBerry still fall under the warranty coverage.

See KB30332 for an example of JVM 517 error which is solved by a software update.

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. If you have installed, your PC, the desktop software and/or a bundle of BONES for your BB, then you apploader. Reference:

But, to start your diagnostic efforts, I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

If there is no Safe Mode, I suggest that you test to see if your battery is causal. Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must be directly connected to a charger checked (not PC USB, not a docking station):

    1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
    2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Wait 15 minutes
    5. Insert the battery
    6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

    1. Get a known good and already fully charged battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
    2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem. Carefully note please that 'new' and 'know' are not necessarily the same things. Although rare, a 'new' battery could certainly be defective. On the contrary, the easiest (and cheapest, btw) method to perform this test is to find someone with an identical BB which has no problem... trade in batteries and see what happens.

Otherwise, then you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

Hello! Have you done a hard reset?

A hard reset is similar to rebooting a computer that is not responding. A hard reset shut BlackBerry applications and restarts the BlackBerry smartphone operating system reboots the hardware components of the BlackBerry smartphone, including the wireless transmitter/receiver.

Note: A hard reset deletes all settings or the data on the BlackBerry smartphone.

To perform a hard reset, follow these steps:

    1. Turn off the BlackBerry smartphone.
    2. Remove the battery.
    3. Reinsert the battery.
    4. Wait until that smartphone BlackBerry start.

    In addition,

Confirm that all installed third-party applications are approved for the device

Make sure that all third party applications installed on the BlackBerry smartphone are approved for the device. If the problem persists, remove third-party applications to ensure that they do not affect performance.

    And don't forget,

    Optimize flash memory

You can keep the smart phone BlackBerry operating at peak performance by maximizing the available flash memory. Increase the amount of available memory on your BlackBerry smartphone by performing the following tasks:

    1. Add a memory card
    2. Remove unused languages
    3. Delete call logs
    4. Remove the sample video
    5. Empty the Cache and Cookies in the browser

Maybe Yes, maybe no... There are 4 bytes for each level of the operating system, not only 3:

So there may be a more recent OS for your device, but with only 3 bytes, there is no way to compare. You can, however, see the official download portal for:

    THX

Hello and welcome to the community!

I'm sorry, but the errors you posted seem somewhat independent... so I need clarification please:

    Gbassi wrote:

Then I upgraded OS to v7.0.0.513 to 7.1.0.366-> BBM did not work

Unfortunately, "did not work" is not really diagnosable. What, exactly, have you tried? What, exactly, happened every step of what you tried?

    Gbassi wrote:

    So I drove back and re-installed 7.0->

    (1) maps: "error at startup net_rim_bb_maps: class 'net.rim.device.api.lbs.maps.ui.ManeuverFiled' not found.

    (2) BB App World must be closed

I do not see how these two errors are related to the first, you were trying to throw the maps app when it appeared? For the second, which came with the maps app? Or is separate #2 and lies somewhere in the process by using your AppWorld? Complete step by step of what you try, with a full explanation of what is happening at each stage, including the full text of all error messages, is essential to understand your situation and if all goes well to guide. Otherwise, we have to guess...

So I guess. My guess is that, once you upgrade to 7.1, you don't have to perform a few extra steps to ensure that all services were properly enabled on your BB. Here are the steps. I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! You can try these few points in your process... either now (on 7.0.0.513) or after you re - try to upgrade to 7.1.0.366.

    Good luck!
