Customers of Windows automatically restart after the upgrade of the tools

It's scary. I just upgraded one of my ESX to ESXi 4.1 Update 1 clusters. I logged on to a Windows Server 2003 client and clicked to upgrade VMware tools. Nothing seemed to happen, then, after a few minutes, that I noticed that the icon in the toolbar of VMware Tools turn red, then he returned to the blue without any warnings and the tools of State on the host said 'OK '. As it was just done in the background.

Then it just restarts the host without asking...

Has anyone seen this? Looks like a pretty serious bug to me.

Matt

When you upgraded to VMware tools - did you choose the Interactive - or non-interactive?

Interactive - will allow you to stop restarting

Not interactive - does it automatically

  • Nine (3 days out of the Box) HP Envy 700-230qe automatically restarts after the initial boot...

I have now a whole new desktop 700-230qe HP Envy (after about a month in the loop of the HP Technical Support).  But again, I have problems.  I took late delivery December 23, 2013.  After giving him enough time to become the temperature of the room, I opened the box and replaced my old HP Pavilion h8 - 1210t with envy again desktop computer.

Took my time and made sure that everything is properly connected - then pushed the power button.  Everything seemed to work perfectly - until what the brand 20 minutes - when the system powered off and rebooted itself.  But for the rest of the session, everything went well - no problem.  It was Monday night.

On Tuesday morning (December 24, 2013 - on Christmas Eve), I pushed the power button once again and the system started fine.  But 20 minutes later, it turned off and rebooted itself.  But for the rest of the day everything went well - even if I had to make several reboots all reinstall my applications and migrate my data.  I started to wonder if I still had problems.

Christmas day (December 25, 2013) is the same thing.

And once again on Thursday (December 26, 2013) - I finally called HP Technical Support.  I spoke with a gentleman (Terrence) - he accessed remotely my system which makes me nervous (but these guys of Nova Scotia are very good and are savvy customers.  He looked around - ran MalWareBytes and CCleaner - and said that he saw nothing thaat would be a problem.  We agreed to wait a day and see what would happen.

Rolled Friday autour and you'd know it's the same thing.  Then, I called HP Tech Support and spoke to a lady (Norma) who, after having read the file of description of situation and asking me my name, phone number, email address (which they ask you every time you call - you would think they write this stuff and keep it on file), she immediately decided that the best thing to do is to 'Recreate the IMAGE' on my drive - to which I replied 'NO WAY '.  This seems to be the standard response, if they can't fgure out - recreate the image on your disk.  They don't seem to care about all the work you put into the construction of our system with applications with associated and all data - they want to just Blow-It-Away.

It made me so angry that I have immeddiately contacted my case manager company HP with the history.  These people - business - case do an excellent job, at least the one I did a great job.  And I know she'll get to the bottom of this situation and go to a happy camper.

Anyway, if anyone has the same problems with their machine - I'd be interested.

    Kind regards

    Garth

I did not read all the answers, but what my qestion... Why are you screwing around? HP has a 21-day return policy, so you can ask them to replace it with the same model or another model as they will send you a FEdEx shipping for a full refund or Exchange label. I wouldn't waste my time with a question like this on a new computer.

  • Update Windows automatically restarts the computer. I would like to disable this feature.

Update Windows automatically restarts the computer. I would like to disable this feature. I'm running a machine business with complex projects requiring a configuration long and delicate. The details below:
Type of operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate
Problem: Status of the project lost after auto restart during the night
Require: A method of disabling automatic restart after an automatic update is happening.
Tried: I already tried looking in the registry for an appropriate key change, but no have been found appropriate.

    Aelryn,
You can configure Windows update to meet your needs, for example, download the update and then let me choose when to install the same. This way you always get the automatic updates but you chose when and where and how to install updates at a time that is convenient.

Then I suggest to change the Automatic Updates settings to meet the needs of PAHO.

Choice, you can turn off to THE (not recommended), you can adjust to download updates only and allow you to install them at a convenient time, you can adjust information only, or you can leave to do what he likes.

If you update, you must restart sometime in the case otherwise you are not protected and you might as well do not update at all. Everything is a matter of choice. One size does not fit all, so a choice can be made. I have updates informed me only, then I decide what, when and how to do to install the updates. It's my choice.

  • After removing the Tdss rootkit, computer laptop My Windows Vista Home Premium keeps restarting after the connection. __

I had the Tdss rootkit on my laptop and removed using TDSS Killer of Kasperky. After the reboot, I have connected and saw a box that displays "Please Wait". After 5 to 10 seconds, my computer restarts. After the reboot, it shows options for Windows Vista loading, i.e. the safe mode, safe mode with network. I chose the mode safe mode with networking and everything works fine. The system properties box opens automatically. When I try to boot into normal mode, he repeated restart after the connection. I tried to run a restore of the system into safe mode with networking, but it tells me something about the system restore is in mode offline. I hit a brick wall and don't know what to do next. I don't want to if I have more options to factory default restore.

The TDSS rootkit is very destructive.  It is not uncommon to make a computer work is not properly after removing it.  I advise you to restore your computer to factory default.  Not only is this the best option, it's the safest option.  I wouldn't consider the computer to be trusted without going through the restore process.  Even if you can be sure that 100% of the infection has been removed, you have no way of knowing what changes the malware made to the settings on your computer, which may be exceptionally vulnerable to future malware attacks.

  • PC keeps restarting after the Windows startup screen

I recently bought a refurbished HP compaq 6005 microtour office format. The computer came with a blank hard drive with no OS loaded on this subject. Before this purchase, I owned a laptop with a Samsung EVO 850 250 GB SSD inside which has Windows 7 installed and worked fine until the motherboard went bad on it. I removed the SSD that laptop and installed in the new office refurbished. The computer starts up and reaches the HP invent display shows options key function and says "press any key to Option ROM Messages." and then after a few seconds goes to "starting Windows" screen and after a few seconds it goes back to the same HP invent screen.

    I tried the things:

The hard drive is detected by a name in BIOS

Made sure boot order has been on hard drive, first

Tried to start Windows in Mode safe mode, last known good configuration and disable automatic restart in the event of system failure

When I disabled automatic restart in the event of system failure I got a blue screen that says, "a problem has been detected and windows was forced to need down to avoid any damage to your computer...". ""Search for viruses on your computer. " Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to ensure that it is properly configured and completed. ... "CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    Hello David,.

According to your description, I realize you are trying to install a Portable SSD hard drive in a desktop computer that has Windows 7 installed on it.

First of all I would say you do not to do since both hard drives have different specifications, and this can adversely affect your computer. I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of your computer before this change of material.

On Windows, it is not recommended to mix computers with different operating system installed on a hard drive specifications. I would say to reinstall the full operating system such that two computers use different Hardware.

Hope this information helps. If you need more assistance or information on this question, reply to this post. I'll be happy to help you.

If it was your intention with this tool to recover a deleted file to non-system, try using a file instead of system restore recovery program.

  • Automatic restart of the NVR LNR0208C after the electricity blackout?

The NVR of DNR-326 D-link doesn't have this feature and I think it is very important and one of the NVR reasons exist and function is not performed by the PC.

On the other hand, it can be connected via USB to an appropriate inverter?

    Best regards

  • Windows XP restarts all the time; does not start mode safe mode and last known Configuration does not work either

Hello! Recently, I installed Wubiand appreciates well. However, a few days ago, when I tried to boot XP on my netbook (EEE PC 1005hab), it restarts just constantly return to the selection screen of the BONES. I tried Safe Mode and last good Configuration known with anything will do. What should I do now? Ubuntu has not stopped working suddenly, so I can't access my data.

I don't have to have a Windows XP CD, there is something weird Asus recovery instead. In addition, it is a netbook so I don't have an optical drive to run the recovery CD. I'm doing a Livecd of Linux USB so I can back up my data... but I can do but reinstall at this point?

    Thank you.

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD drive (even an external).

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If there is a problem starting, XP is configured to automatically try to start again and you can stuck in a loop not being able to go beyond the screen boot options, or none of these startup options you choose will work only.

Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu, it has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

You need to choose in this menu is the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start pressing the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restarts on system failure, and then select it.

You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

Bernd, these rights are not necessary to the reader XI. Unless the file has been secured, then it should be savable.

I recommend that upgrade you to the latest version of the XI player that is available and if this does not work, try to run a repair installation (or upgrade to DC).

Another thing is that when you press the switch on the alternating current led, which is normally green button, it flashes yellow with some sort of a code long and short flashes.

This happens with different OS cause I tried to reinstall and the problem persists.

    > Another thing is that when you press the switch on the alternating current led, which is normally green button, it flashes yellow with some kind of code long and short flash

I know that if there is a failure of memory the * power indicator * flashes repeatedly on and off the power (0.5 sec) if there is an error in the slot A the indicator would blink twice in orange, and then green.
If there is an error in the B slot, the LED will Flash orange and green twice.
If the error is in the two slots, the LED flashes twice green and orange.

There seems to be a bit of a problem past, especially with older models of iPad 2. Some people have reported success after that restore their device via iTunes, for others that it has not worked and all they get is a message "bring it in an apple store.

Since it affects a lot of people, I think it's safe to say that the problem lies in the range of Apple. But I don't think it is recognized or no matter what put forward fix.

You can try to restore your device, or you may just be stuck waiting to see if a fix comes out.

    To do this

At the point of the system configuration, you will find the option restore by default.
This will help you restore the default settings.
