  I think that the BIOS for Tecra A8 3.2 is not available on the Toshiba European driver page because this version has expired and the new BIOS versions are already available on the Toshiba page.

  I put t know if it s possible, but maybe a Toshiba authorized service provider might be able to help get an older version of BIOS.
  It s just a suggestion, but maybe what it s worth a try.

  Whenever I have to search for updates, the only one that appears is bios - 20070709164832.zip and it says:

  I think the problem is that the update of the bios (which is using windows) doesn't work under XP, so won´t you luck because it takes a working XP and common modules installed on your machine.

  Unfortunately there is no other way to update your bios, but in your case it s is NOT necessary update the bios since the new version adds not important functions. So I think that it s not a BIG problem, and if your computer is running well, then ' that one ' and follow the good old "never change a system up and running.

  I have a Tecra M10 - 13L with Vista Business SP2 32-bit installed.

  I tried to update my BIOS from v1.6 to the currently available in download v3.0 "bios - 20091104152403.zip" page support and unpacked "P0065v300.exe", dated to the 4.11.2009. When I run the program, I always get the message windows "install2 does not work" and that the process is abandoned.

  In the C:\TOSHBIOS folder. UPD, I found an install2.exe dated 12.08.09 which seems is decompressed from the bios update file.
  Any ideas how the update can be done?

  I already loaded the update servers diferent BIOS file and tried several times, but its still the same problem.

  BIOS should be updated only if you have a problem. If the laptop works well, then I wouldn't update this

  Try if one of the packages of the BIOS might be decompressed correctly and the exe file could be executed.

  Can you please tell us what kind of problems you have? In any case, if your laptop is a European model it is always recommended to use all the updates that are available on the support page of Toshiba Europe.

  I don't like to mix stuff of update and updates offered on Toshiba Europe are tested with all the European laptop models.

  Have you tried to get into the BIOS?
  Check it out.
  But usually after the update laptop BIOS should properly work and boots.
  Have you followed the instructions on the BIOS update on the page of Toshiba?
  Maybe you did something wrong and the motherboard is damaged.

  Your device is fairly new in this case I na? t see any direction update the BIOS.
  Please note that the update of the BIOS is not without risk.

  I can see BIOS version 3.00WIN is available for your Tecra.
  You want to install this version? You can install it on any OS except Win8.

  If I m remembering well Toshiba offers updates for Win8 BIOS and all available versions starting with version 6.0 or higher.

  They have not replaced the defective processor, they replaced the motherboard! for no reason. OMG!
  Be very careful when you buy PC Toshiba laptop in Hungary and is not due to lack of the Toshiba but authorized service partners!

  Why do you think that CPU must be replaced?
  I guess that the technicians ran some diagnostic tests which can detect defective parts, I guess the CPU was not affected, but the real question was the motherboard (because it was replaced).

  However, what s your problem exactly?
  Why you want to downgrade the BIOS?
