The easiest way to see what's inside is to download and run CPU-z.  The utility will tell you what feeds your PC.

    Stafiejulian, welcome to the forum.

Here is a list of processors that should work on your computer.  As the person says he got the information from HP.  The Celeron, you want to install is not on the list.  I suggest choosing one of the other processors which has the speed you want.

Please let us know if this solved your problem or not.

  • X220i with celeron 857 upgrade

I have a x220i with celeron 857. I want to upgrade the CPU, but as I know that the cpu is not removable. Is it possible that I buy a 220 Board with i7 2640 m x? He enters the x220i database? Thank you.

The X 220 and X220i have the same chassis, so a straight Board swap will work. The better question is the cost effectiveness. Sometimes you can pick up a 220 X used with a better processor for less.

  • X 201 with celeron processor

Hi all that anyone has any ideas on how this Lenovo x 201 tablet http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-Thinkpad-X201-12-1-LED-Tablet-PC-U3400-4Gb-320Gb-3Yr-Warranty-NEW-... pt = Laptops_Nov05 & hash = item4aaeef5d3c would be run using the celeron processor is a specs'ed? Thank you

This auction has ended already. U3400 is correct, but you might as well get the X200t if you get the CPU U3400 in a X201t, the only advantage you will get with the X201t is the complement of the Touchpad.

  • EMachine bought second-hand with BIOS locked store

    Separated from this thread.

I just want to be honest and totally from the outset: I am disabled, poor therefor and with very limited income. for example, the death of my last pc I kept the hard drive that was an original version of XP 3. I was so lucky (I HOPE) because I found at a local second hand store they had a whole collection of different components for EMachines model W653a S/No. GCJ87 C00 07034

SNIDS: 82800679890 with Celeron dual-core inside and Vista already installed. Well 1 problem was obviously it has not been saved for me and I have been able to use it as a "guest." UNSATISFACTORY! In addition, simply not true, I felt the guilt of an intruder. my previous PC was a (EMachine) model: W4685 w/a Pentium4 2.60 GHz cpu.

The disk that came bundle w / that has some additional software that were not only temporary features. Of course, he had his share of temp-ware as well, but point is when I tried an installation clean w/a drive of SPX "home" that I had previously bought so I was ready when I got the machine I wanted.

so, okay Oh great and merciful Microsoft, this is my confession.

Now, what I have to do to crush the Vista installed on this machine still running sweet ' cept I can' no. do everything I want to since the previous owner has left the password of the bios! I'll be able to scrape Vista and claim ownership of this ' China since I paid for it loyally AND freshly install instead a Win7 OS?

    Thank you, altogether!                                                  M_EagletonMize

We are not able to help to circumvent passwords that we do not know which PC it is.

A BIOS password is also often used by business to protect the property against the better flight just a Windows password can make.

But you will not be able to reinstall Vista or Clean install another OS to boot with a BIOS password, nor can you start the XP SP3 CD to do an XP Repair Installation that is how to adjust a registered old XP install to start on new hardware.

I guess you are using the guest account because you have no administrator rights because the Admin account is protected too? If this is not you could create a new account and assign administrator rights in user accounts.

Maybe better if you can't find it via Google how remove it eMachine BIOS password must follow these same steps to clean you have to make it work better: Clean Up Factory Bloatware

Vista is possible to smoothly because the improvements developed for Windows 7 have been incorporated into SP2.

If I misunderstood the facts of the case, please specify if I can see if there is more help that can be given.  Rules of the forum banning however help to circumvent passwords.  Am I correct that you have a BIOS and Windows password for the Admin account?  If not the last there is more, we can do to help you short of media to reinstall the boot.

  • Stuck on Windows Vista with Lenovo G550?

Hi, I am experiencing a problem that makes me not really get angry at the Service of clients from Lenovo and Microsoft at the same time. I use a G550 with Celeron 1.8 GHz CPU and 2 GB DDR RAM with HDD of 250 GB and G4500 Graphics

    Here is my problem:

I was very happy when buying my laptop and couldn't wait to install Windows 7 on it. As I did, I realized very quickly that there are major problems with Windows 7 on my laptop, and I was not able to run my software. Games would not be executed, the programs would be would break and I felt duped in a way. That of why I thought then about XP, which is a very simple OS, but would at least run all my software on this laptop that I just bought. So I installed XP and I couldn't find all the drivers I needed, I was not able to run my WIreless LAN-network and in XP total is a piece of 9 years, of the software, which has many security problems and wont be adapted to a new laptop in this price category. I mean I spent $ 500 on this laptop, and then I find myself running XP on it? No thanks!

So I switched to Vista, that was my last hope, and that would go at least my applications, not the crash and updatable. And at least I could really use the ease of this laptop on Vista. But one thing that makes me really crazy crazy, is that I am lucky to have the worst performance with Windows Vista. I run SP2, needs renewed start as 40seconds without logon. Another extra 20 seconds for the loading of all auto-start programs (which are just that anti-virus and the usual system stuff). I have to be stuck on Windows Vista forever? I have so many problems with this operating system, but anyway its just more convenient than the old dusty XP and windows7 new crashy. Is it really this bad, that after having spent hundreds of dollars on a new laptop that I have to paste vista ot, to stay updated and use my old programs including windows 7 just does not work?

I think that his little irony that Microsoft does not solve their problems of incompatibility with computers laptops lenovo, and that Lenovo doesn't problems, that the experience of their customers.

I was very much surprised when I bought this laptop until I realized the problems such as:

    Disc turn al the time

    Incompatibility with Win7

Driver problems on the old operating system like XP

I think that lenovo ows really a statement and Microsoft should really tell us what we're going to get before we buy it. Money doesn't grow on trees, and I am not willing to spend much money on BONES and laptops which later used to work properly.

What do you think about that?

  • eMachines EL1850 new RAM not working not

    Hello everyone!

I wanted to upgrade RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB, so I looked at the label placed on the current RAM and tried to find the best match. I bought and tried 1 x 2 GB Kingston and 2 x 2 GB Corsair (more), but unfortunately none of them worked. After installation and turn on the PC, it was a constant noise for a long time and I couldn't do anything. Nothing on the screen. Then I tried one at a time into the two slots with the same result.

What's wrong? What I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

    The current RAM:

    UNIFOSA 2 GB GDDR3 - 1333 128MX8 1.5V EP, GU512303EP0202

    I tried (all new) RAM:

    Kingston 1 x 2 GB memory DDR3 1333 MHz Non - ECC, CL9, 1.5V, memory unbuffered DIMM (link)

    Corsair 2 x 2 GB memory DDR3 1333 MHz Non - ECC, CL9, 1.5V, memory unbuffered DIMM (link)

    Motherboard: G41T-AD V: 1.0

BIOS: P01. B3 (the latest version)

Upgrades successfully achieved to date: replaced Intel Celeron E3400 with Intel Core 2 Duo E8500

Fortunately, I found someone who was trying to sell the same Unifosa modules, 2 x 2 GB. They work perfectly!

I want to thank all the people who have tried to help me!

  • Hyperthreading is used in esxi 5?

It may be a stupid question, but I installed esxi 5 on an older Celeron e3400 dual core with hypertheading however in the vSphere Client it shows "N/a" Hyperthreading, shouldn't show Yes or avilable?

I enabled hyperthreading and virtualization in the bios, so I don't know what else to try, unless this feature is not supported in esxi

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Yes, hyperthreading is supported in ESXi 5. Are you sure that Celeron E3400 supports?

    Good luck!

  • Satellite Pro 2100 Boot Failure

    Hello

I have a MS PRO 2100 who * was * running Win XP Pro SP1 with Celeron 2 GHz, 512 MB of Ram and 30 GB HARD drive. Bought in early 2003, so out of warranty. I tried to install SP2 on a CD of MS, but got bored after a while and leave the machine unattended. I returned about half an hour later to find the machine apparently tried to start in SP2. 10 minutes later the start screen was still, but the machine would not start. (The HARD drive light was active overall, as it has been in the following scenarios).

To cut a long story short, I tried Safe Mode and fix Installation without joy, before giving up in the belief that SP2 has been the problem. Data has been backed up and I have a full copy of XP Pro SP2, spare, so I thought I would do a clean install. Booted from the XPSP2 CD and tried to format HARD drive. Hung at 0% formatted for 20 minutes before I stopped.

Subsequently tried recovery CD product, which seemed installs correctly, including the replacement of the partition, that I had to destroy when I tried to format the HARD drive. Little difference in the startup problem - now it slowly boots as much as the start screen for XP SP1 and does not move for several minutes, until a BSOD pops up with the technical element of the message (all on one line) STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000006, 0x80658CAA, 0xF8954704, 0xF8954404)

'Start-up' safe mode now consists of a scrolling list intermittently from drivers who stop on agp440.sys for awhile before the BSOD appears, as indicated above.

My apologies for the length of the post. I think that sounds pretty terminal but if anyone can shed any light on it I would appreciate it greatly.

    Merry Christmas!

    Rayan Jim

    Hello

Sounds strange! I would try to start the computer with a startup disk (which can be downloaded at www.bootdisk.info) and run fdisk and chkdsk.exe to scan the HARD drive!

Also, you should check the settings of the BIOS and new st failing!

    Try and keep me posted!

  • Equium A60: ATI mobility issues

I have an Equium A60 (PSA67E) with Celeron 2.80 ghz, 192 RAM, windows XP, and a 7000IGP ATI MOBILITY RADEON I bought jan 2005.
I use the laptop and after 10 minutes a message appears and tells the driver has stopped working and I need a new. Which driver should I download for this stop happening? Ive looked to other people having problems with the infanite loop and its recommended location to download a bios updared will this help?

I sent ATI and they said I need to contact toshiba

It is also is so slow when I try and work on it, I've defragmented it but it works still slow. Would this becaure to have 192 RAM?

    Thank you for your help

    Hello

First of all, I would recommend trying the page of the Toshiba driver graphics card driver:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
You choose unit and OS and download and install the driver.

In my opinion, your device must use min 256 MB memory.
But it is not only the problem of memory. Some software programs and background processes may decrease the performance of the laptop.

I have a Satellite A40-241 with Celeron 2.70 Ghz 128 L2, BUS 400. I would like to change it with a processor 1 MB of cache L2 as Dothan or something. The motherboard supports such a processor. I bought a DDR PC2100 256 ram so I now 512.

    Thank you.

    Hello

CPU Exchange issues are really often here on the forum. Usually laptops are not so flexible for hardware upgrade as workstations because of miniaturization. On many laptops the CPU upgrade or replacement is not possible due to a permanent connection. If the processor is faulty main Board must be replaced.

I also read a few topics that some guys are upgraded CPU on some more latest and recent Satellite models but I really don t know if it is a good idea. The fact is that the entire hardware infrastructure is built exactly to work on the best way. As in the best way, I mean a few things:
The BIOS is designed for specific physical infrastructure
Power processor must be defined and allow consumption of mobile computing (new and faster CPU needs more power)
Computer laptop cooling system is also suitable to work optimally. Faster processor will produce more heat and the temperature will be much higher. The result can be permanent cooling fan running or still overheating.
Don t forget that designed Toshiba machine tool of Eve may also have some problems with the new CPU control

I put t really know if it's really a good idea and I recommend you to use the maximum RAM for this device. Believe me, the CPU has enough power and if you use more Ram, you'll see that the unit will go much quicker and there is no risk of overheating.
The last interesting thing is maybe how will modernize the costs?

Sorry, it is not possible to change the processor for a laptop computer.

You can only change things like the memory or HARD drive.

    Victor

    Hi, Victor:

According to the specifications, this should not be a problem...

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=emr_na-c03029649

According to the parts list, there is only one model of system map, so it shouldn't matter what processor you install, as long as it's one of the reasons mentioned in the first link I posted.

  • Satellite L30-10 X - CPU Upgrade

    Hello

I have rather old laptop L30-10 X Satellite and I recently got Intel CPU T5300 and I wanted to replace Original Celeron M440 for newer processor.

I read a lot (even on this forum) that people were able to make these changes (and event to the top models such as T5500 and T5600).

But after I replaced the Celeron (SL9KW) with T5300 (SL9WE) computer laptop won't start, it just turn on the power led for about 5 seconds and then turn off completely (not same fan turns).

Is there anything that can be done to make this work of CPU?
I have 3.10 BIOS after failure of the attempt to run T5300, I went back to the old Celeron (and everything works fine with celeron).

The laptop does not start because the processor is not compatible.
I put t know exactly what your old laptop chipset supports, but I guess the new t isn't taken CPU supported by the chipset. Therefore, you must check the compatibility of the chipset before you begin with an exchange of CPU.

But to be honest I don t understand why you want to upgrade the CPU on this old notebook?
First updates are not officially supported. As you can see, the laptop could not start after such update and it's something that can be also related to the compatibility of the BIOS.

On the other hand; even if you would be able to upgrade the processor, you won't see an improvement in performance because the difference between the compatible processors is not big enough.
