Default scale to the size of the image in 2015 CC

Other issues on this subject come from 2012.  I use CC 2015.  I have preferences - default scale of size of frame check box. He has always worked in this project.  I thought that this meant simply that when you cut large images in the timeline, they automatically adjust to the size of the current image of the project. I've done several times before, and I can resize images - zoom - without loss of quality.   All of a sudden when I'm cutting the large images (JPEG, etcl) in the timeline with this project that's making them huge in the Progam monitor.  Am I missing something?

Thank you

Patrice

and I can resize images - zoom - without loss of quality.

Unfortunately this is not true. When you use default scale to the size of the image the image is set to 100%. Which means that when (zoom) amplify it exceeds 100%, resulting in a loss of quality.

Select all of the images on the timeline, right-click and press Set to the size of the image.

It suits them also in the chassis, but according to their original format.

When you zoom in there is no loss (until you reach 100%).

  • Is footage Epic 5K - there a way by default "scale to the size of the image" horizontally?

    Hey there,

So basically I have a 2 sequence of k (2048 x 854, 2.40:1 aspect ratio) and I work with 5 k Epic Full Frame footage. With "scale to the size of the image" on, it fits the image from top to bottom, leaving black space on the sides. I know that I can just step up, but it means that I have to disable the subsampling if I want without loss of quality. So what I want, it's so he can mount the frame horizontally and be able to adjust the framing from the top down. Is there any setting I can change to make this happen? Is the part of the RED workflow I'm missing?

    Thanks for reading.

I agree with Ann, as usual.

Stay with me on this because I have a workflow that might work for you.

Don't forget that you can create a sequence using a size of the image that is 2048 wide, but it is large enough to display your picture video when revised downward. If the image full frame are 16:9, it would be 1152.

Once you have this sequence, you can drop all your clips on it, their balance all by the scaling of one, copy and paste the attributes to all the rest as suggested Ann.

Now you can simply use this sequence rather than the individual clips, so that your source media. You can chop it to everything in the Source monitor and delete sections of the sequence on the sequence of 2048 X 854. This means that you just have to use the parameters of position up and down sections, and it will be an easier than all the scale when you drop them on the timeline. Or, of course, you can create a sequence of 2038 X 1152 for each of your media clips in place, in order to keep the names right. It is up to you.

Now, it is probably useful only if a lot of the clips work well without be moved upwards or downwards. If the center of section works well for enough of them, it probably you will save time and trouble.

However, if you want to enter the path for almost all of them effect anyway, then it might be just as easy to their one size at a time. Although the position can be changed more easily than the scale, click on the query parameter and setting the right position in the program monitor.

You could put three different copies of a handy clip at the front of the timeline. A cup Center, one at the top and bottom of the frame. You can copy one like that you want when you want.

Many ways to skin this cat.

  • Default scale to the size button question frame

I imported my media and dropped a DSLR 1080/25 clip to set my calendar and then went about moving other images in the timeline in which a large part is of different sizes to find that I missed something, the scale defaults to the size of the image button in the preferences, but when I press it I find that only new images I bring you to the project behavior in this way and all the stuff that I have already loaded in the project will not.

Do I have to re import all my clips on the project to get them all on the scale on the line time or is there a way around this?

You can select any number of items in a sequence, right-click on one of them and select the size of the image (or, if you have the latest version, 7.2.2 affect the size of frame, which resizes without pixelation).

  • Problem with the scale of the images during the import.

I took 250 pictures which I've edited in a film in stop motion. However, I encountered some problems.

The biggest problem is that when I imported the images in the timeline, they were strongly increased and not even centered in the frame. as you can see in this screenshot:

    ffdsdgsfgd.jpg

It is a big problem. You would think that I wouldn't have to go through every signle image and resize it down to properly adjust the setting... good? She has not even centered which means that I have to scale and move and be very precise and it's going to take so many hours to do! What is the problem here, how can I do so that when I import images, they are at the right scale?

problem 2: when I put the images in the scenario that they were 'backwards '. As in, the last image was the first in the chronology and the first image was the last. It's as if the program TRIES to make my life a living hell.

Daniel, in order to solve your problem, in principle, you should not import your numbered stills in the form of unique images, you must import them as a sequence - tick 'numbered Stills' checkbox in the import and Bob from your uncle - PrPro dialog box will deal with all of these images as a single sequence.

Go to Edit-> preferences-> Media-> Timebase of media for an indefinite period and desired default rate. In order to change the framerate of already imported image sequence select it in the project Panel, right-click and choose change-> interpret the film...

Length default for still images is also set through preferences: Edit-> preferences-> General-> still Image default duration. To change the duration of all the stills in your timeline select all, right click, choose speed/duration and set the duration to 1 framework for example. Don't forget to check the Ripple edit, move the creeping Clips .

  • When you use Windows Explorer to view the files and folders, the thumbnails of image files appear briefly then are replaced with the default icon of the image file. I tried the answers to similar problems, but none worked.

Browse the folders with image files, I cannot see the thumbnail icons for images correctly.  I know, it should be possible, but I can't do it.

When I first open a folder in Explorer, I see the correct images for a fraction of a second, then all images are replaced by the thumbnail of the image file (which looks like part of a digital SLR).
I put all folders to display picture to display the preview and the filter, and the "always show icons never thumbnails" is not checked.  Display file icon "on the photos' is unchecked (I tried checking, too, without change).  I also deleted the thumbnails using disk cleanup as suggested on another question, but which did not allow them.
The result is that, if I want to open an image for editing or downloading, I have to use a third-party application (for example, Pentax Photo Browser) to preview images, and then return to the Explorer window to select the correct file by name. Don't try to difficulty of these things that are not broken.

    izzlecrate,
You might want to try it and I just did this procedure myself a moment ago and surprising, it worked!  First of all I must tell you that I have Windows Vista, but the information I got was for Windows 7 and it worked.

First: You must create a NEW FOLDER and put it on your desktop.
Second: Move or copy the contents of the original file in the NEW FOLDER on the desktop. I copied the content, just in case something went wrong.
Third: After that is finished and all the contents are inside you.
Fourth: On the desktop right click on the folder and click Properties at the bottom of the box.
Fifth: Click Customize tab at the top and then the Middle click on DEFAULT settings for the folder.  Click on apply to, click OK and your done

NOW! You can move the folder wherever you want by drag-and - drop the folder and when it's done and that's the best part, you should see the thumbnails of the folder on the EDGE of the folder that you just created.  It worked for me and I hope it works for you.
I have 10 years of experience with my computer and have troubleshooted my friends for viruses and other computer problems successfully.  I'm advanced computer user.

That this is done, it restores the folder its original settings.  Good luck! Rick

Vista has no support for Thumbnailer for mp4 files. There are extensions of the environment that offer this feature, which can run Windows Vista.

  • Question on "Scale to the size of the image by default"

    Hello

I put my sequence of 1080 p at 25 fps.

However, my source material are a mixture of 4K video and also extracts of 720 p and also some pictures.

I noticed that if I uncheck the "Default scale to the size of the image" box, each time, I put the clips imported into the timeline, it's too big and I have to go the effect controls panel to reduce the size. It is very time consuming especially if I have a lot of 4K video clips on the timeline.

According to me, that if I check the box of 'Default scale to the size of the image', when I put the 4K video on the timeline, it fits very well. My question is when I enlarge him to say the Pan effect, of the resolution will be downgraded compared to when I do not check the "default scale to the size of the image" box?

    Thank you

If you use the scale to the size of the image, either in manual application or by ticking the "default image size scale" in preferences, your clips will be scaled down (in the case of the 4 K sequence) or upwards (in the case of the sequence of 720 p). In both cases, the clips on the timeline for reference the original source material, so all of the pixel content present in the 4K source, for example, is always available for you to resize.

You will notice, however, that if you open Motion and see the scale component - it will read 100% because - the clip on the timeline has indeed been reduced to sequence frame size - making it difficult to * how the clip was be reduced or enlarged as the balance indicates the same.

A better way to edit the clips to the timeline the clip on the timeline, and then select and right click or control click and choose the size of the image, the value and now scale will reflect the percentage reduction or expansion, so you can see how much you can resize until you start to lose resolution.

Unfortunately, the set to the size of the image is not yet available as a default, you will need to use it manually.

  • Scale to the size of the image

So I see that if I set the scale to the size of the image it dimensionnera my clips on import and I lose the high resolution... Sucks a bit

Is in any way at all to the scale of the element when importing to the timeline? Final assembly used to do this, and it was awesome...

I work with mixed 1080 p and 4 K images... So we are mastering 1080 p and whenever I shoot a clip of 4K I have to manually resize 50%

Is it possible to automate this scale to 50%? The main reason I want to do with scale is some of the 4K clips that we have planned for crop... If default scale to the size of the frame that will mess up...

Really surprised there is no easy way to do... I must be missing something...

There is a way easier to do, but still not as easy as it should be.

You can do a right click on the elements in the sequence and choose SETTING to the size of the image.  This will allow full resolution cropping.

Be nice, if we didn't have that as a general preference, along the scale of intelligence.

  • Behaviour of the size of the image scale will not turn off

    First 8.0.1 (21) CC 2014 10.9.5 Mac.

I worked with clips on a corresponding sequence so far. Clips are Full HD.

    Now, I want to change in a smaller sequence (1280 x 720).

I uncheck scale to the image size option.

Unfortunately, when I put them in the sequence of small clips they are still scaling to the image size. The movement is 100 and the clip tops out at the frame. I tried several sequences and several clips.

I have 2 types of sequences (sequences AVCHD and GoPro) that do. My graphics (Lower 3rds and others) are NOT updated with the scale to the size of the image.

Am I missing something? I use wrong image size scale? Is scale of the image size a property defined on the individual item at time of importation if so, that seems like a terrible idea. I would like the possibility to activate the scale of image size, enable or disable depending on the when I want.

I just found a way to disable the behavior of scale to the size of frame on individual clips after importation. If you right-click on the item in the timeline panel, you can turn off the scale to frame size.

This action solved the problem! I can even apply this option to multiple clips at once.

  • Is there any way to "adapt to the size of the image" a bin of clips?

I run a 1920 x 1080 doc project in first Pro CC with a range of sizes and types of media.  I purposely do NOT preset preference "default scale to the size of the image" to maintain the quality of my still image data base to allow pans and zooms.  I imported since, connected and sub cut a very large number of 720 x 486 QT stock of archive films.  After doing without presetting of the first scaling by default, I am experiencing now to apply "scale to the size of the image" to each edition in my sequence that I work.  Is there any way to "adapt to the size of the image" my bin of clips? or am I now stuck having to convert the original movies to 720 x 486 QT 1920 x 1080 and then reissue of links in first to keep all my data void cutting?

What is in the bin, select the clip, remonter back towards the top of the screen and next to file and editing, select Clip

Then go down to video Options

Choose scale to the size of the image

  • How to put a video Clip on the scale and avoid the deterioration of the Image?

Hi, I'm trying to determine the best way to put across a number of videos in my sequence, so that I can ' digitally zoom "on the action and again, we hope to avoid degradation of the focus/sharpness of the image.

My concern is that using the Scale-up effect, is to distort the images, that is stretching the pixels.

(one of the clips that I tried to use the scale effect appears blurry and distorted, but it could have been a problem of automatic update, I'm not sure).

Here are the details of my installation.

I'm under PP CS5.5 on Windows 7, and I have a card Nvidia CUDA.

I shot the video on a Canon Vixia HF/S21 in 1920 x 1080 p at 24 Mbps (Canon calls this MXP and the 'p' is not native, is "drop-down" menu inside the camera).

My output will be h.264 for the web. I'm fine with the dimensions of the output at 1280 x 720. The output doesn't have to be 1920 x 1080, BUT it would be nice IF I could the 1920 x 1080 output while keeping the image sharp and vivid. If 1280 x 720 gives better results then I'll do it.

So my questions are the following:

    (1) using the scale effect PPCS5.5 result in a distortion of the image

-It causes the image to get blurry, less sharp/crisp?

-(I'm scaling the clips of 50-70%)

    (2) is it interesting to define the parameters of the sequence at 1280 x 720 (instead of match clips at 1920 x 1080)?

-My thought is to set the parameter sequence to these Dimensions of lower resolution and I can get a 50% scale upwards by simply * not * using 'Ladder to the chassis' on the clips I want 50% furred.

If you shot 1080 and 720 is finished, allowing some flexibility to scale.  PR calculates scale in two ways, which is very confusing.  If you set your sequence on 720 and preferences to the default scale to the size of the image, all the clips in 1080 you will add later will show 100% in control of the effects > tab, movement, even if the Pr has put across your footage in 1080 at about 45% to frame 720.

I suggest you uncheck default scale to the size of the image.  Then, when you add your 1080 videos to your 720 sequence, it will be scaling to 100% (for real) and it will be bigger than your raster 720.  Only by doing so you know if you climbed your film beyond 100% when you are panoramic and analysis later.

Your first clip to meet the sequence, copy and use attributes to paste on the rest of your clips in 1080 to bring to the 720 frame scale to the bottom of the scale.  Then you can make adjustments from there.

BTW, there is an article on the Adobe site how the CUDA scaling is greater than Ps and Ae scaling.  Maybe someone can find the link or you can search the site from her.

  • Restore the size of the image bitmap (image) and PPI

Here's something that I have not found a quick solution after several years of use.

    The scenario is as follows:

    1. you receive a document with embedded images and no access to links original.

    2. the images are resized and proportions have changed. For example, PPI: 85.372 x 71.954 and the scale of the Image (H, V): 84.337%, 100.065%.

Is there a quick way to change the scale of the image at 100%, 100% or 72 x 72 PPI?

I always do this by calculating the percentage of that image has be restored by horizontally and vertically for the original report.

Make sure that before you add this photo to your project, you go to the preferences (under the Edit on a PC) and uncheck the default scale to the size of the image.

Scaling of artificially reduced image size your photo - no matter how large - the size of your video image, make detailed pans and zooms like your impossible. When it is not checked, your photo will be in full resolution and you will only see a small part of it in the preview window.

That said, don't forget that you work at video resolution, so some details will be lost. (Less so, if you change video high-def). And, of course, don't forget to make your timeline after you have added your pans and zooms to see a better representation of what your final video will look like.
