Question on "Scale to the size of the image by default"

Hello

I put my sequence of 1080 p at 25 fps.

However, my source material are a mixture of 4K video and also extracts of 720 p and also some pictures.

I noticed that if I uncheck the "Default scale to the size of the image" box, each time, I put the clips imported into the timeline, it's too big and I have to go the effect controls panel to reduce the size. It is very time consuming especially if I have a lot of 4K video clips on the timeline.

According to me, that if I check the box of 'Default scale to the size of the image', when I put the 4K video on the timeline, it fits very well. My question is when I enlarge him to say the Pan effect, of the resolution will be downgraded compared to when I do not check the "default scale to the size of the image" box?

Thank you

If you use the scale to the size of the image, either in manual application or by ticking the "default image size scale" in preferences, your clips will be scaled down (in the case of the 4 K sequence) or upwards (in the case of the sequence of 720 p). In both cases, the clips on the timeline for reference the original source material, so all of the pixel content present in the 4K source, for example, is always available for you to resize.

You will notice, however, that if you open Motion and see the scale component - it will read 100% because - the clip on the timeline has indeed been reduced to sequence frame size - making it difficult to * how the clip was be reduced or enlarged as the balance indicates the same.

A better way to edit the clips to the timeline the clip on the timeline, and then select and right click or control click and choose the size of the image, the value and now scale will reflect the percentage reduction or expansion, so you can see how much you can resize until you start to lose resolution.

Unfortunately, the set to the size of the image is not yet available as a default, you will need to use it manually.

Or keep the proportions of the image but the culture of the surplus beyond the current size of the placeholder.

I want this default because when I create my classes, my images vary in sizes and proportions a bit. So invest time on each image through "Edit image" in the properties is not effective.

As Lilybiri, we never use the placeholder either, but you can create templates in Photoshop for your images that have the same size of canvas than your placeholders. • Problem with the scale of the images during the import.

I took 250 pictures which I've edited in a film in stop motion. However, I encountered some problems.

The biggest problem is that when I imported the images in the timeline, they were strongly increased and not even centered in the frame. as you can see in this screenshot:

    ffdsdgsfgd.jpg

It is a big problem. You would think that I wouldn't have to go through every signle image and resize it down to properly adjust the setting... good? She has not even centered which means that I have to scale and move and be very precise and it's going to take so many hours to do! What is the problem here, how can I do so that when I import images, they are at the right scale?

problem 2: when I put the images in the scenario that they were 'backwards '. As in, the last image was the first in the chronology and the first image was the last. It's as if the program TRIES to make my life a living hell.

Daniel, in order to solve your problem, in principle, you should not import your numbered stills in the form of unique images, you must import them as a sequence - tick 'numbered Stills' checkbox in the import and Bob from your uncle - PrPro dialog box will deal with all of these images as a single sequence.

Go to Edit-> preferences-> Media-> Timebase of media for an indefinite period and desired default rate. In order to change the framerate of already imported image sequence select it in the project Panel, right-click and choose change-> interpret the film...

Length default for still images is also set through preferences: Edit-> preferences-> General-> still Image default duration. To change the duration of all the stills in your timeline select all, right click, choose speed/duration and set the duration to 1 framework for example. Don't forget to check the Ripple edit, move the creeping Clips .

If the entry is incorrect, then an error message to display.

Should I do the invisible image, or mark it hide or how should work please

    Hi Bill,

I guess that by hiding, you mean to hide on the Timeline? Please note that this feature is only meant to make editing easier (masking objects when they are too many, or some are on top of others) but has everything that the effect on the visibility of the objects after the publication.

A good practice to include the case where the user returns to the slide reads:

    • Create an action that will be triggered by entering in the slide, which hides the two text captions; only if you are sure that the user will go to this slide only once, you can uncheck the visibility in the general accordion of the properties of the text as an alternative caption
    • create a Correct (standard) tip action to be triggered on success after validation of the ETB:
      • See the Correct text caption
      • hide the incorrect text caption
      • Keep (unless you want the read head does not move because you have other navigation button)
    • create a tip action inCorrect (standard) that will be triggered in the event of failure after validation of the ETB:
      • See the incorrect text caption
      • hide the Correct text caption
      • Keep (unless you want the read head does not move because you have other navigation button)

    First 8.0.1 (21) CC 2014 10.9.5 Mac.

I worked with clips on a corresponding sequence so far. Clips are Full HD.

    Now, I want to change in a smaller sequence (1280 x 720).

I uncheck scale to the image size option.

Unfortunately, when I put them in the sequence of small clips they are still scaling to the image size. The movement is 100 and the clip tops out at the frame. I tried several sequences and several clips.

I have 2 types of sequences (sequences AVCHD and GoPro) that do. My graphics (Lower 3rds and others) are NOT updated with the scale to the size of the image.

Am I missing something? I use wrong image size scale? Is scale of the image size a property defined on the individual item at time of importation if so, that seems like a terrible idea. I would like the possibility to activate the scale of image size, enable or disable depending on the when I want.

I just found a way to disable the behavior of scale to the size of frame on individual clips after importation. If you right-click on the item in the timeline panel, you can turn off the scale to frame size.

This action solved the problem! I can even apply this option to multiple clips at once.

  • Basic question on the Placement of the Image

I produce videos that have a lot of images in them, and I often subtly "animate" by using the so-called Ken Burns effect (i.e. the use automated, incremental changes in the scale of the image and/or the position).  I noticed that on occasion, an image that has filled the look at a Panel in Premiere Pro exactly as I wanted show edges or will be his slightly when I look at a version exported video complete when you use QuickTime or another application of visualization.  Are there general rules for placement of Image which will help me to avoid this kind of surprises?

What you see in your Viewer overview should be what you get export.  If you are not the case, try to remove your Pref Pr or uninstall and reinstall the application.

BTW, a trick that can be useful for users of Pr CC 2015 is that you can drag the anchor Point by clicking on the icon of the effect of movement in the Panel effects and then drag the anchor cross until you want to zoom in on.  Then you can scale and reposition by animating the scale parameter.

  • Restore the size of the image bitmap (image) and PPI

Here's something that I have not found a quick solution after several years of use.

    The scenario is as follows:

    1. you receive a document with embedded images and no access to links original.

    2. the images are resized and proportions have changed. For example, PPI: 85.372 x 71.954 and the scale of the Image (H, V): 84.337%, 100.065%.

Is there a quick way to change the scale of the image at 100%, 100% or 72 x 72 PPI?

I always do this by calculating the percentage of that image has be restored by horizontally and vertically for the original report.

  • Question on the scale to the size of the image.

So if select scale to the size of the image on 4 k sound clip now 1080... When I Zoom in on this now clip 1080, am I zoom in the film source 4 k or 1080? Also if I uncheck scale to the size of the image the 1080 images back to the 4 k?

    Thanks in adance

You are zoom in a framework of 1080 100%, which means losing the image quality.

In other words do not use size framesize but the framesize value, it will keep its original framesize of 4K.

  • Default scale to the size button question frame

I imported my media and dropped a DSLR 1080/25 clip to set my calendar and then went about moving other images in the timeline in which a large part is of different sizes to find that I missed something, the scale defaults to the size of the image button in the preferences, but when I press it I find that only new images I bring you to the project behavior in this way and all the stuff that I have already loaded in the project will not.

Do I have to re import all my clips on the project to get them all on the scale on the line time or is there a way around this?

You can select any number of items in a sequence, right-click on one of them and select the size of the image (or, if you have the latest version, 7.2.2 affect the size of frame, which resizes without pixelation).

  • Pixelation when scaled to "scale to the size of the image?

    Hey all,.

When I put a clip from 4 k to 'adapt to the size of the image' on a timeline of 1080 p and then it swings a bit, are there any negative pixelation/aliasing occurring as opposed to simply scaling the 4 k clip to the timeline 1080?

In my view, that it is impossible to discern, but I was wondering if I do something wrong in my workflow.

    Thank you!

Yes, "Scale to frame size" is destructive. If you open the effect controls panel and look at the scale parameter that you choose this option, you will see that the setting remains at "100" means that your newly reduced film is now 100% and everything above that will cause the loss of resolution.

What you want is the much better "to the image size" option just below (in the context menu), which will scale your footage to 50%, in order to preserve your goodness in 4 K.

  • Scale to the size of the image

So I see that if I set the scale to the size of the image it dimensionnera my clips on import and I lose the high resolution... Sucks a bit

Is in any way at all to the scale of the element when importing to the timeline? Final assembly used to do this, and it was awesome...

I work with mixed 1080 p and 4 K images... So we are mastering 1080 p and whenever I shoot a clip of 4K I have to manually resize 50%

Is it possible to automate this scale to 50%? The main reason I want to do with scale is some of the 4K clips that we have planned for crop... If default scale to the size of the frame that will mess up...

Really surprised there is no easy way to do... I must be missing something...

There is a way easier to do, but still not as easy as it should be.

You can do a right click on the elements in the sequence and choose SETTING to the size of the image.  This will allow full resolution cropping.

Be nice, if we didn't have that as a general preference, along the scale of intelligence.

  • Default scale to the size of the image in 2015 CC

Other issues on this subject come from 2012.  I use CC 2015.  I have preferences - default scale of size of frame check box. He has always worked in this project.  I thought that this meant simply that when you cut large images in the timeline, they automatically adjust to the size of the current image of the project. I've done several times before, and I can resize images - zoom - without loss of quality.   All of a sudden when I'm cutting the large images (JPEG, etcl) in the timeline with this project that's making them huge in the Progam monitor.  Am I missing something?

    Thank you

and I can resize images - zoom - without loss of quality.

Unfortunately this is not true. When you use default scale to the size of the image the image is set to 100%. Which means that when (zoom) amplify it exceeds 100%, resulting in a loss of quality.

Select all of the images on the timeline, right-click and press Set to the size of the image.

It suits them also in the chassis, but according to their original format.

When you zoom in there is no loss (until you reach 100%).
