• Photos crash when deleting location

  On his return from holiday, I imported hundreds of photos from my camera Panasonic ZS40 in Photos. The ZS40 has a built-in GPS receiver and embeds location information in each photo if available.

  Seen in Photos, many (but not all) imported photos appear to have incorporated location information (the little icon 'card' is displayed in the corner down left), but photo location does not appear on the map in the information area.  A map appears, but there is no bug. On the other hand, the info box displays "looking for information about the location..." This opinion never disappears, and location of the photo never appears on the plan (which is not relevant to where the photo was taken).

  I suspect that the ZS40 had not yet acquired GPS lock when these photos were taken. Maybe he wrote by default (or defective) lat/long coordinates in EXIF data structure embedded in the JPG file.  In order to correctly assign to the right place in the Photos, I clicked on Image/location/delete location, with the intention to then manually add the location where the photo was taken.  Photos promptly crashes as soon as I click delete location.

  There seems to be a coding bug in the program of Photos (I don't like any more whenever I use it).

  Can anyone suggest a work around with (or without) photos?

  Can anyone tell me the location of the actual JPG image file which Photos has hidden somewhere in its database? (With iPhoto, it was easy to find the actual file...). If I can find the JPGs, I might be able to inspect (and perhaps correct) defective lat/long data in the EXIF data with a geo-tagging 3rd party utility.

  You can export the unmodified original (menu, file == > export) and then import the corrected photos and remove all original with Photos photos, as it should

  It turns out that the connections.xml had the url of the endpoint that the profile of the deployment and jdeveloper was referencing at deployment time.

  In order to get our automated generation work, we use a search and replace of Ant utility to change endpoint in this connections.xml before construction/deployment of the application.

  I'm plot data on a graph of absolute time and I find 2 hours difference between the data displayed by the debugger (left) and data on the graph (X - SCALE AUTO).

  The time saved in ptTime, was acquired by using the function 'time' and the PC has Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome as time zone.

  Here, under a screen shot that implemented the code, the debugger and the result.

  The debugger is also showing the version in good time!

  Can anyone suggest me how to process data in order to have the same result on the debugger window and on the graph?

  Question: in the CVI debugger show you, the time_t variable appears as a double, while its definition in 'time.h' is ' typedef unsigned int time_t; "so I am a little confused.

  Response: I did something nonsense in this screenshot: I took a variable of type double (it happened to be a UIDateTime, actually) and configured the debugger to format as if it were a time_t variable. The formatted values that the debugger shows me, therefore, are not valid, of course. But I just wanted to show the time_t format, because it corresponds to what you have in your screenshot, and I was already suspicious that you use time_t variable to pass to the curve.

  Furthermore, if you are not familiar with the way in which you can change the formatting in the debugger, this is how you do it:

  

  Usually, the debugger can automatically pick the best format to use, based on the data type of the variable (for example, with variables of time_t). But in this case, what the debugger calls a variable "Date Time" is all just a double.   If so - try and set the resolution of the Visual Editor from the drop down above.

  I would recommend picking up of components in the component structure.

  Since you don't mention exactly what forms version you are using, I guess that and I guess it's one of the many versions after 6.0.8.  The 9.x + Forms Builder supports gif, jpg and ico files.  It does not however read of a jar.  Therefore, you have to extract to a directory defined by UI_ICON.  In addition, the files must be of the same type (jpg, gif, ico).  Mixing formats is not recommended or supported.  The format of your choice can be defined in UI_ICON_EXTENSION

  So, for example in your registry, you might have something like this:

  UI_ICON = C:\myImagesDirectory

  UI_ICON_EXTENSION = gif

  "Gif" being the default, there is no need to set this if you use "GIFs".

  One way you can probably do is to doubleclick the component on the stage and manually change the parts that compose it by doubleclicking and their modification.

  If you use a component TextInput and you have problems with the fact that code for this style, you might consider switching to just by using a Textfield.  Components tend to be somewhat heavy creatures, partly because of the various graphics they carry but mostly because of the code that they carry.  To see how the TextInput contributes to the weight of a file, start a new file and place a TextInput onstage.  Then, with the Flash option publish Settngs to generate the report of chosen size, publish the file and see the bytes contributed in the output panel.
