  OK, so I thought naively: "you had Windows XPII SP III for several years.  Time to update. "I bought a program of 32-bit Windows 7 for my old Dell Dimension E520.   Thank God I have the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor printed report that told me what to expect with a certain number of programs, including Dell AIO Printer 962 Photo, Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album, WordPerfect12 and a few others wouldn't work, or have problems with Windows 7.    First of all the Dell AIO Printer 962 Photo.  Despite the fact I've updated drivers, and the small list of control on the screen tells me it is read to use, I get a message saying something like "your computer is unable to communicate with your printer.  He then advises me to unplug/re-plug the USB power cord cord, restart the computer, etc..  I did all that, nothing.  Second, the software I bought Corel, WordPerfectX6.  The thing installs OK.  Then I try to run it and I get a message stating: "WordPerfectX6 has stopped working" No. S_t!  I tried to uninstall and reinstall and nothing.  I had a call to the toll-free line 1-taking in charge, but I swear to you that I am about to return the thing and just do with NotePad.  What is essential now is Dell
  Photo AIO Printer 962.  Someone at - he had THIS problem and found a solution?  I mention the other problem where the two events are related.   And since I use Windows7/32-bit, a Microsoft Product, I take a shot that maybe someone can have a cure!   Thanks in advance for any advice.   Dell, web site, there is no driver Windows 7 not listed for your printer on the printer control, so everything you download may not work. The thing nearest Dell listed are Vista drivers, you can try the 32 bit version.

  Cut first download auto driver from windows update.

  Start right click System computer/properties/Advanced/settings/device installation settings/tick won't let me choose and never install win update and save the changes then install driver.

  I can't talk to you throughout the process - is too long and there are too many things that could should be made according to which past that are best addressed in the manual that I have provided a link to in the previous post.  I'm not able to write my own manual and even I tried I did not have the information and I'm not going to read the manual myself and then try to say it in other words for you - it would take too long and would be better.

  I tried and it doesn't work.

  I tried once more and still the same message: employment status etc.

  My printer works as I can print documents and turn off my notebook and workpad.  However, I am unable to print my e-mail and internet articles without using the command/shilft/P.  On my printing page, it will not load the preview and just keeps trying to load.   On the bottom of the print page it says to use Ctrl/shift/P in red.   I do like it says and it prints.  It's probably very time consuming and not the easiest way to print.   Please can you help me.

  I recently installed windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit on my dv4t-1300cto. Everything is great except for the fingerprint reader is not working. It appears in the device as manager being installed correctly, but windows and digital persona say its not connected. I tried a few reinstall software and drivers, but nothing helped. And when I look for software, the results are quite rare. HP tries to convince me that I'm using a beta version software and support will appear soon, but is not a copy of version beta what whatsoever. Everybody do what ive made and it sorted?

  I had some problems printing with my desire to hp 4500. I recently bought this for use with my laptop, which runs windows 8.1. I tried to print wireless with mixed success. I can't print anything product of microsoft office, firefox, etc. I can't print a PDF file or the other - with a catch. If I print the document first with adobe printer, save the document, and then print with the printer of the desire, it will work (for a few pages at least). This happens even if the original document is a pdf file.   Hello. Thanks again for your help. I found how to solve my problem. I know now that it had nothing to do with the printer or its software. Something was wrong with my registry or files of certain parameters that I couldn't identify myself, that I tried to plug the two this printer in my lapotop via a usb port and installation (with the same problem). The same problem happened when I connected usb printer older that I know works (hp 3050 has-for printing at least) and still had the problem. I just did a windows update and had to reinstall everything. Now, I can print and scan wireless without problem. I would like to have a more simple solution. Maybe the idea of my friend to install a registry cleaner from the beginning was a bad idea. You live and learn, I guess.

  Thank you for your message.  Unfortunately, Microsoft lists your printer as 'Not Compatible' with Windows 7 (as seen HERE).  Some have had success using Vista drivers for different models, but there is no guarantee that it will work for you.  I guess that you already use the Vista driver to get the copy and scan functionality.  However, if you want to install the Vista driver, you can click HERE to download/install.

  Just guessing... but as the problem is intermittent, I would be

  If you added new hardware then delete and restart.  Also disconnect external devices and try to start.  If those who do not help, I would start with your XP CD to recovery mode and run "chkdsk/r" then "sfc/scannow" QQ learn to deal!

  Strictly following your recommendations of procedure installation to date, always the driver installation fails with:

  -"Device driver software was not properly installed" or with

  -' Dell Photo AIO Printer 964: ready to use '; and "964:No found Dell Photo AIO printer driver.

  I use the Windows Firewall and AVG2012.

  Driver installation failures also occur, when I turn off:

  n ' matter what internet connection

  -temporarily the firewall and/or

  -temporarily anti anti-virus AVG2012

  which means that the firewall protection software and the virus should have no impact on an installation driver successful or?

  I hope that these details could give you an "idea" for a procedure of working solution.

  Try to install a Dell 966 AIO printer on a windows system 7.  Downloaded the driver from the website of dell (G16 - FR, A02)... seems to install properly, the computer sees the device under "devices and printers".  When I print to it, failure, error says start bidirectional printing.   When I go to the properties of the printer in the "port" tab and try to click "enable bi-directional support", I can check it out, but when I leave and check back to disabled.   I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice with the same result.   Takes a long time to uninstall, if that means something

  The type of connection is USB and it worked perfectly on my old windows xp system.  Yes, all course windows updates, at least until July 2013 have been installed.  Thought it might have something to do with my anti-virus (AVG), but disable AVG installation has not made a difference.

  The system is a new hp desktop computer that has been started for the first time last week, there was no reason for me to install or reinstall the operating system, so that the answer to your question is no, I didn't install or reinstall the operating system.  I uninstalled windows 7 software downloaded from the site of dell printer driver and ran your commercial printer to cleaning which did not find anything for cleaning.  Uninstall AVG and then reinstall the printer software has nothing else that cause me to lose an hour of reinstalling the printer software, could still not print, then reinstall AVG.  Once more, I deleted the windows printer driver 7 this time tried installing the driver in compatibility mode vista.   When the driver software finished installing, I noticed the bidirectional support box was already checked on the ports tab in the printer properties and of course, I can now print.
