DeskJet 1510: Scanning as Word doc

To scan a document and then save it to work on it

Hi @TM12,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that you are eager to analyze as a document with your HP Deskjet 1510, on Windows 10. And I'm happy to see it for you!

To scan a text document that you can edit, HP OCR characters (OCR) software or a third party provider must be installed on your computer.

What is your ultimate goal in the 'scanning' the document? I try to read between the lines here, so, if it's to send by e-mail, I would recommend that create you a PDF file using one of the many PDF printer drivers (I use PrimoPDF to http://www.primopdf.com/index..aspx.  You should install this program, then it creates a printer driver.  In Word, you make a file, print, and then select this printer.  He then asked a file name.  Place the file in a location where you know the location and then let to print.  Once done, you can then attach the PDF file to an e-mail message.

  • hp3512 will not ley me save scanned doc to word doc.

hp3512 will not ley save me scanned doc to word doc it gives only metheoptions save to JPEG, format PDF ortiff. How can this be repaired?

    Hi lake1998,

When you save a document format, you are talking about OCR or optical character recognition.  The 3512 Deskjet will allow you to save the files analyzed in the formats listed, but it doesn't have a built in OCR.

This thread has identified solutions that may work for you.

    Hello

-What operating system is installed on your computer?
-What version of Microsoft Word you are using?

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if they help.

    a. save image scanned in *.gif, *.jpeg.

    b. open this image in paint, go to ' file-> save under "and name it"xyz.tiff"in" TIFF ".

    c. go to "Start-> programs-> Microsoft Office-> Microsoft Office Document Imaging Tools"

    d. go in "file-> open" and open your scanned document that has been saved in *. TIFF format.

    e. go in ' tools-> send text Word.» You will get a prompt indicating that this process will take time, click OK. This will take some time depending on the speed of your computer (a minute or two at the most).

    f. when it's done, it will open Microsoft word on its own, and the scanned document will be in editable mode.

Is there any software by which I can convert my scanned images (text) to the ms word doc (.doc) file?

    Hello

Some scanners have the ability to convert the image to text, check your scanner manual for the exact procedure. You can also use your search engine preferred for a tool to convert.

  • HP Deskjet 1510 - will not print?

    Hello

Recently I bought HP Deskjet 1510, but it will not be printed.

When I click on print a word document, it goes into the queue but then disappears after a few seconds - and the printer does nothing.

I tried troubleshooting, but it is said that there is no problem. I've loaded everything that was on the CD that came with the printer and bought the right USB cable, so have no idea why it does not print... Everything works fine (scan, copy)...

Any help would be much appreciated!

I discovered that it was nothing wrong with the printer, just with my computer. Has had enough of trying to solve problem so abandoned my computer windows7 and bought a new printer and windows 8.1 works perfectly. see you soon

  • OfficeJet Pro 8630 Cup image of the logo of my company in Word doc and Quickbooks invoice template

My 8630 Pro of Officejet newly installed works fine except it won't print a picture of the logo in a Word doc and a Quickbooks invoice. The logo image is near the top of these two documents. I tried the full software and the base out of the site of HP driver. Nor will not work. I broke the 8630 K8600 driver and it printed the logo and the rest of the document correctly but real soon. I use this in a small business. My other 3 types of (all HP) printers print the same Word documents and invoices from Quickbooks without problem. Convert .pdf files works but is not an effective workaround solution in a business environment. The printer test page shows that I use mxdwdrv.dll name driver, config file UniDrvUI.dll and driver version 6.00. Ever run HP Update, Print & Scan doctor and confirmed the new firmware.

Thanks for the tips. I had one of my guys call the support company and he now works correctly with the driver Deskjet 6980. I seems a little slower, but works perfectly for us. I think that the phone call was more than 2 hours.

  • DeskJet 1512: scanning problem

Hi, I have deskjet 1512 all-in-one printer. I have a copy in black and white button as well as a copy in kept button but can not see a scan button as I had on my old previous model?  Is it possible to scan breeds?

    Thank you

    Hello

Your pritner do not offer a scan button, so scanning should be launched from the HP software.

Click the HP Deskjet 1510 icon on your desktop or in the start menu > programs > HP > printer your template folder and press on scan a Document or Photo and the ofllow the steps on the screen to scan.

You can find more detailed information of its options in the section "scan with the HP scanning software":

  • hp deskjet 1510 printing too dark

    Hello

As says the subject, my HP Deskjet 1510 printer is printing too dark. Does anyone know how to change this?

    Thank you

    Thanks for the reply.

You try to print a photo, if so what program? If you print word documents, try printing in draft mode.

I would like you open the printer from the desktop icon or go to Start> all programs> HP> Deskjet 1510> 1510 Deskjet series. The Printer Wizard, click the estimated ink levels> Services> print quality diagnostic report, not this dark printing page as well?

  • DeskJet 15 10: Hp Deskjet 1510

Hi, I have a deskjet 1510, an i just installed it on a windows 8, it prints very well and I can share print with it, but for some reason, it is not the scanner.

Tried the Hp doctor software, it stucks looking for driver.

I reinstalled, updated the software of the web and checked the scaner driver, all very well and still cannot scan.

I tried to manually install the scaner driver via the cd supplied with the printer.

    Any one with any solution.

Sorry for the English not my main language.

    Hey @ShaQ90 ,

So, my name is Zac and I'll be your 1 to 1 Support HP's Agent today! In response to your apology for your English. It's very good, and you should be proud, you can write the language well it is didn't not your native language, good job!

    I see you are having some difficulty in scanning with your DeskJet 1510 even after execution of printing HP and doctor Scan. Fortunately, I have something in my bag to get this figured out, most likely. Please follow these steps in this order;

#1 step: run the Microsoft Fix It Uninstaller tool. This will tear all the software that you choose to delete it completely from your system. You are eager to look for something in the sense of "DeskJet" 1510. Click on an delete it entirely. The link for MS-Fix - It is http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

Step 2: run "CCleaner" tool to clear all your junk registry files to make sure that nothing is in the way of software doing its business. To download CCleaner, go to https://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER. Scan and clean.

Step #3: clear your temporary files folder. Press and hold 'Windows' on your keyboard and press the 'R' on your keyboard. The "Run" dialog box will go up. Type %temp%, and then press 'Enter' on your keyboard. A screen titled 'temp '. To select and remove all temporary files press 'CTRL' on your keyboard and press "A". It should select all files. As soon as they are all chosen press "delete" on your keyboard. If you get a 'file is in use and cannot be deleted' or any other annoying warning "you can't delete this file" just click, jump and move. Once they are all gone, close the window.

Step 4: now allows you to do a clean boot reboot. This will stop parasitic programs get in the way after starting up. There is a drop-down list at the top of this document choose Windows 7. Here is the link https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135/.

Step #5: after doing all the steps above we get there, reinstall it. The be and end all. The last hour... I guess that you are fully aware of how to do a reinstall but it's my job so, hp.com > drivers and downloads > follow the instructions on the screen.

I would like to how it goes and have a wonderful new year!

  • Convert Word Doc-rich text file

Scanned document using the ABBYYOCR program, which saves the file in rich text. I need to get it in Word doc format. Does anyone know how to do this. I managed, but it took 20 steps to do this, which means that it is faster to retype the document.

    Thank you very much

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

    Follow these steps:

    (a) run Microsoft Word.

    (b) open the RTF (Rich Text File) document in word.

    (c) click on the "File" menu

    (d) choose "save under" and make sure "Word Document" is selected in the box "save under".

    (e) enter the name of the file you want or leave as is. This will keep the name of the RTF document, but convert to Word format.

    (f) click "Save".
