DeskJet Ink Advantage 4625: HP 4625 on wireless connection indicates that any fax device

I have a DeskJet Ink Advantage 4625, which I use on a wireless network.

Worked very well.

Replaced WiFi router D-Link DSL-6850U.

Now only the fax device is displayed: "Fax - HP Deskjet 4620 series (network).

When I connect the printer via USB - printing device is installed: "HP Deskjet 4620 series" and it prints OK, but I'm not able to get the device to print via WiFi.

Ran "Doctor Setup" 2 times already - tried to "convert USB WiFi".

But it only converts the fax device...

Thank you

Hello @agivati and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have connectivity problems.  I would like to help!

I would recommend your computer off.  Once the computer is down, select Setup on the front panel of the printer, and then select network.  In the network menu, select default network.

Once the default values have been restored, unplug the power cord from the printer and the electrical outlet and remove the power of your router for 60 seconds.

After 60 seconds, reconnect the router.  Once the router has started broadcasting, reconnect the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

After that the printer is turned on, run the wireless configuration.

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4625: HP Deskjet Ink Advantage starting problem

    Nice day

I bought a printer HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4625 Saturday and tried to put in place.  I bought just the printer at a reduced price to replace my other Deskjet 4625, which had ceased to function.  It comes with cables, which I was told is not a problem because I had the rest of my previous purchase.  The seller says nothing about the cartridges SETUP.  After launching the setup with the new ink inserted, I got the error message saying: cartridges use INSTALLATION supplied with your printer.  I have tried everything to ignore this error to complete the installation, but I can't go any further.  Is it possible to get around this please?  Thank you.

    Welcome @joanne11,

I can help you with this error, you see.

The information you are looking for is in this document;  Ink cartridges HP 178, 364, 564 and 862 - error resolution 'use cartridges SETUP'.  New CONFIGURATION supplied with the printer cartridges must be used to configure the printer for the first time.

These cartridges should have been included in the box - if they were absent, would return to the retailer to know where they are.

If you have these but have just opened new cartridges, instead - you could see if The consumables HP inkjet - ink storage and handling helps keep these cartridges for future use after initialization.

Hello ilse77and welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see that you are having problems with your scanner.  I recommend you to perform a power reset. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. • HP DESKJET Ink Advantage 2135: My printer is not connecting to my computer

I get a weird message from windows 'the last device you connected is not recognized by windows. I don't know how to solve this problem. Help, please

    Hello Kostas2

Usually, the best way to resolve this type of problem is to uninstall the printer and then reinstalling it again.

Download the full recommended software here...

    DJ2130_61.exe (115.8 MB)

Turn off the printer, then unplug the USB from the computer.

Right-click on Start, choose Control Panel> programs> uninstall a program.

Uninstall everything about the HP printer , including the printer, HP image zone, Director of HP's image, or what is installed on your system.

Also uninstall all other printers (if any) that you do not use.

Restart the computer and the printer (do not connect the USB cable again).

Right-click on Start and choose Control Panel> hardware and sound> devices and printers and make sure that the printer is no more. If that is the case, then right-click on it and choose Remove the instrument.

Install the downloaded software and drivers from above. Follow the instructions that it will ask you to plug the USB cable into the computer.

Let me know how it goes.

  • HP DESKJET INK ADVANTAGE 1515: To connect the HP DESKJET INK ADVANTAGE 1515 printer device to multiple computers.

Mr President, I have HP DESKJET INK ADVANTAGE 1515 PRINTER I want to connect to my two computers with all FIRST Windows XP and the second having Windows 7 operating systems. Kindly help me to do this in detail...  THANKS IN ADVANCE

What's your plan for the connection?   It is a USB printer only, no network connection.  You can connect to a computer and then enable Microsoft File and print sharing on both computers.   Or if your router has a USB port that supports printers CAN operate when connected there.

    Those are your options.

  • HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3515: HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3515

This is the second time black color printing does not work. First company supplied cartridge was about 25% of
ink inside and it ceased to print correctly. After a lot of troubleshooting, the problem has been identified as the cartridge to replace. I replaced a new cartridge HP and would have taken about 10 draws on different dates. Now there are more than 75% of ink in it, but printing does not occur. Other colors print correctly.

For me, it looks like a manufacturing defect with the printer that needs to be resolved by HP. request to address you emergency on this problem and advice.

  • DeskJet Ink Advantage 4645: Wireless, Direct, ePrint

Hello. I have a small question.

I have a HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4645.

My printer provides services to wireless, wireless live and HP ePrint.

I question the concept of these functions and how they work.

I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but the concept is briefly as below, as I understand it.

Wireless: a printer connected with the IP address of my computer, so a particular computer that is used for the connection to the printer is available for printing.

Wireless live: a printer works like a Wi - Fi connection, so all devices can be connected with the printer and users to print anything if they know the password.

HP ePrint: a printer has its own e-mail address. So if all users know the printer email address, then they can apply for printing assuming that is open to the public. Wherever they are located away from the printer, the printer will recognize this request and print it. Thus, it receives the query on the cloud server and processes in the printer.

I'm just to understand the concept? It would be preferable to use the functions after that I understand completely.

    Thank you.

Wireless: a printer connected with the IP address of my computer, so a particular computer that is used for the connection to the printer is available for printing.

Uh, no.  In fact, the printer is connected to your router SSID and given an IP address and others on the same network can use the printer.  Be it a computer or others.

Wireless live: a printer works like a Wi - Fi connection, so all devices can be connected with the printer and users to print anything if they know the password.

Yes, basically.  Usually only 5 can connect to the printer at the same time, the SSID printers.  We connect printers SSID, you cannot connect to your SSID (routers) Internet connection.  You can print OR use the Internet, but not both at the same time.  That's why people without routers can print without an ISP.  They use the cellular 3G or 4G to connect to the Internet.  Wireless would be Direct - use when you do not have a router.

HP ePrint: a printer has its own e-mail address. So if all users know the printer email address, then they can apply for printing assuming that is open to the public. Wherever they are located away from the printer, the printer will recognize this request and print it. Thus, it receives the query on the cloud server and processes in the printer.

Only if the senders address is in the list of users authorized to print.  This is implemented when you use ePrint.    Even if you know the e-mail address of printers, you cannot print to it unless you are on the list of senders allowed.  Otherwise, the ePrint server will ignore the command.

I'm just to understand the concept? It would be preferable to use the functions after that I understand completely.

    Thank you.

    I hope this helps.

  • Unable to connect wireless - Deskjet Ink Advantage 2545

    Hello

Im having a problem to use a wireless connection to my printer, during installation, the following prompt message:

Question: You have manually entered the name of the network (SSID) cannot be found.
Solution: Check that your wireless router is powered. When to manually enter the name of your network (SSID), make sure you enter exactly including upper and lower case and spaces.
    ============================================================================================

I rechecked, the SSID and password has been entered correctly, but the same message always keep ready to.

    IM using Windows 7.

    What should I do?

    Hi @Francis78,

I see that you have problems with the implementation of the printer on the network. You get the message "the network name (SSID entered) manually is not found". I would like to help.

Cycle power to the router, computer and printer.

Please double check the correct password and type of encryption, click the wireless on the taskbar, right-click on the name of your network, click Properties, click view the password, it will tell you the type of encryption and password. Spaces and special characters may not be recognized.

Here is a document to set up the printer on the wireless network.
Setting up the printer on a wireless network for HP Deskjet 2540 and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage all-in - One Printer Series 2545.

If you have turned on Mac filtering, on the router, you will need to add the Mac address of the printer.

If you need help, let me know.

    Have a great day!
    Thank you.

  • DeskJet ink advantage k209a-z wireless printing

I have a Deskjet Ink Advantage k209a-z. It doesn't have the ability to connect wireless. Is there an adapter [print wireless or bluetooth Server] can I buy [in the Philippines] who will add this feature and allow me to connect the printer to our home network.

    Thanks for your suggestions

In General, the answer to this question is no. However in some cases if your router has a USB port, you can connect the router to the printer directly and essentially share on the network. In addition, this printer is probably going to be USB only.

    Hi @Maxan,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community! I understand that you need to connect your printer to the network wifi and you get an error message. I'll be happy to help you.

A remarkable work has been done trying to connect your printer to the wifi network before posting your question in the forums of HP. It's always a great pleasure to work with tech-savvy and technically customers sounds like you. Kudos to you for this. I am amazed at your technical skills, and we really appreciate your relationship with HP. We greatly appreciate you for doing business with HP and consider a privilege to share this platform with you.

For greater clarity, I would need more information to isolate the problem to be hardware or software related.

Other devices connect without hassle to the same network?

After restarting the printer without any communication with other devices, you get this error message, or it goes back to the home screen?

Is it possible for you to try this printer on a different network?

We will first do a hard reset: as follows:

    • Turn on the printer.
    • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before continuing.
    • Unplug the USB cable to the back of the printer. If your printer has a network or a wireless connection, leave it connected.
    • Remove the cartridges from the printer.
    • With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the printer and the wall outlet or power strip.
    • Wait at least 60 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
    • NOTE:
    • HP recommends connecting the power cord printer directly to a wall outlet.
    • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
    • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
    • The printer may go through a warm-up period. The printer lights can blink, and transportation could move.
    • Wait until the warm-up period ends and that your printer is idle and silent before continuing.
    • Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
    • Then try to connect to the network and check if it works.
