Determine the good thinkpad dock

Hey,.

I got a ThinkPad T440p and plans to make a docking station. Since I never got one before I was confused about which we should get. I wanted to get the thinkpad Dock Ultra but was confused about how I would determine if I should get the 90W, 135W or the 170W. I live in Canada, Ontario, if that makes a difference.

I was also curious, what is the main difference between the base station and ultra dock. It is useful for me to get the ultra work?

Thank you

Jeje

AFAICT, the majority of the difference is the number of available video ports. If you plan to attach a lot of views, opt for the dock Pro or Ultra. (Basic has a VGA port).

The dock 90W probably works perfectly, but if you plan to have a ton of attached devices, you can the 135W. (AFAIK, the wharf itself is the same, you get just a different power supply adapter)

    Hello!

I am interested in the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2. I'll order one with all the extras when it is available. I hope at the end of the year it will be able to order this nice tablet.

My question is about the PowerVR SGX545 Intel Atom COS graph: is - this device capable to manage my Dell U3011 with native resolution of 2560x1600px mini-HDMI or via the Dock 2 Tablet ThinkPad (HDMI) connector?
I did find this information anywhere on the sites, e. g. http://www.lenovo.com/psref/

I intend to use the Tablet for my university studies, but I also want to work with her at home with my Dell U3011 connected as a second monitor.

Thank you very much and best regards from the Germany!

On the TPT2 HDMI port can handle that resolutions DVI single link. So he cannot manipulate the U3011 to its native resolution.

  • Programmatically determine the PCI device ID

Hello again all you lovers forum useful!

I am writing an application for exit to and read entry from ARINC PCI card, specifically the ICAN-530 of GE Intelligent Platforms.  Now their LabVIEW drivers and the documentation is pretty good, but one of the things that I have a problem with is how to determine the ID of the Board of Directors.

The documentation on this Board ID is marked "for PCI devices, this Council number must match the device ID assigned when the installation of the API and the corresponding device has been installed."  I'm sure that I have discovered this using MAX, but what I really want is to determine if the laptop running my application has this card special in it ARINC and if so what is its device ID, by any program without the user to select or install MAX, etc.

I hope it's doable, but I failed to find the right screw looking through this forum and in the pallets of LabVIEW.  If someone could point me in the right direction (or definitely state that it can be done programmatically), I would be very grateful.  :-)

    Thanks in advance!

    -Joe

Just in case where someone else finds this useful thread in the future, I got the following response from GE Intelligent Platforms (who I bought the card), that indicates there will be a relatively simple way to reach my goal by using the LabVIEW drivers.  I have not tried so I can't guarantee its effectiveness, but it sounds good.  :-)

If the only GE avionics installed is the ICAN-530, he would have no problem invoking AR_Board_Init until you encounter a status of passage; However, if there are other cards installed AND the distribution of the CIS - x 30 - SW is installed on this host, there is a mechanism to check room types.

The AR_Query_Device of VI VI provided in CIS - LV Version 4.10 (latest version and probably the one would have received you if purchased with the ICAN-530), can be used in the following sequence to check such allocation device number on your system without actually opening a session and during the initialization of the Council.

    (1) call AR_LoadDLL.vi with the set control system Type to be 'CIS - x 30'.

    (2) call AR_Query_Device.vi in a loop (BoardIDIn control incrementing from 0 to 15) until the indicator of Type of card is returned in 26 (type for ICAN-530) AND the errorOut.code '1 '.  The BoardIDOut indicator will be the Deviceid for the ICAN-530.  Council for the VI types are described in the online documentation and printed for CIS - LV live.

    (3) If you will be running your application, you can just go forward on the basis of the VI AR_LoadSlv and waive AR_Board_Init (as AR_Board_Init is just a combination of AR_LoadDLL and AR_LoadSlv).

    (4) If you plan on using it to work with any other type of Council other than a CIS - x 30 Board, you must call AR_UnloadDll.vi to remove the library API CIS - x 30 memory.

There is a VI that detects peaks when you specify a certaing point and this point maximum width.

Later, it's just a matter of setting the value of local maximum of you. Basically, you'll have to point once again got 1 d table than VI.

  • How to determine the threshold for an LED voltage

A density of current over voltage that is generated by one of my Labview OLED measurement systems is attached.  I'm trying to programmatically determine the threshold voltage.  When the data is displayed in the logarithmic scale it is possible to observe a charge injection clear (0.8, 0.000203).  The problem is that I can visually observe this value, but I'm not able to solve by program for her.  I tried to take the derivative to observe the changes of slope, but only to determine the operating voltage.  Any ideas how I could solve this value?

    Thank you

    E

You are on the right track, you just have to do deeper. Try to take the 2nd derivative and find the points where it is larger. This will show you where the log graph is concave upward and where is your ve. I've included a plot of Log (data), D (Log (data) and D (Log (Data), 2).) I also have zoomed in on the area of interest, then pay attention to the balance.

You may need to make some good assumptions. For example, with exactly what I posted above, you get Vth = - 0.4 or so. If you assume Ve > 0, then you get Vth = 0.8.

In addition, you probably want to do other fancy stuff such as: interpolate the data to get more points, smooth interpolation, trim the ends of the derived data (they want 0 according to your derived method).

  • Determine the number of traditional DAQ hardware using Labview.

    Hello

    Anyone can answer the question:

Regarding materials traditional DAQ, for example the DMM OR-4060, how

can I programmatically determine the number of device which can be seen in MAX?

With the help of Labview 8.5, I looked into the following function libraries:

    NOR-DMM

    VISA

    NOR-ModInst

None of the libraries above seem to provide access the number of traditional DAQ hardware

    property, which is automatically assigned.

    Background:

    I have a 18 PXI chassis containing 2 DMM, in housing 3 and 14.

The DMM may be a mixture of type OR-4060 or NOR-4070.

The system is controlled by a Teststand sequence employing IVI - DMM

    steps.

When you set the IVI logical name step, I am referring to IVI device defined Sessions

    Max - rutime determined.

Labview VISA functions using I can determine the model, i.e. 4060 or 4070.

Because the DMM just locate into the slots 3 or 14, then the devices NOR-4070

are accessible using the following descriptors of resources: PXI1Slot3 or

    PXISlot14.

    (The 4070 is compatible DAQmX.)

So for devices OR-4070, I can predefine 2 Sessions of IVI device, knowing

It will be sufficient for all occasions, when I run my Teststand sequence, which will be

determine what device session to use at run time.

But I'm stuck for the NOR-4060.

At the Session of the device, I have to give a descriptor of resource the following

format: DAQ::x (where x is the device number)

I could create device 18 sessions each reference to a different DAQ::x, but to select

the good pair during execution, I would need to programmatically determine the device

number, i.e. the value of x.

    Where my question.

The closest I came to a solution was an entry of the Knowledge Base that said that the

Assigned device number would be the same as the slot number, providing the

Number of the device had not previously configured manually.

Unfortunately, our device numbers have been changed manually and maybe in the future.

    All popular solutions.

    Gary.

    Hi Gary,.

Good afternoon and I hope that your well today.

Thanks for your post and I want to help you solve your problems.

I don't think there is just a function that you can use to identify and collect information on all cards with your. For traditional DAQ devices in particular I suggest using the Information.vi of DAQ devices get.

If you look at this link,

SAL posted an example VI entitled, find dev trad.vi.

You can get information such as serial number, Dev name and the Base address.

The assistance of the respective drivers to collect information you could generate an array of strings with the information that you need all the slots.

Please let me know if this is useful at all,

  • Help me determine the revision number [Studio 1537]

Dell Studio 1537 laptop (IE. 2009)

I'm trying to determine what replacement lid, hinges and the bezel I should order for fix up of my old Studio before I sell it.  I know that I should be able to disassemble and read labels to find out what revision it is, but staff repair Dells exchanged so many parts around during the process when I had sent in their I don't know what are the original parts, or where I could look at to determine what revision number, I would need with the current configuration.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Read on for more details...

    The problem

The bezel fits the cover properly, but not around the screen.  It covers the bottom edge and one side of the screen by about 1/8 ", although there is a black area exposed on the top edge and the opposite side.  Basically, it seems that the lcd screen is not properly aligned inside the cover, but I removed the bezel to fix it myself to see that the screen is mounded and well aligned.  After some research I remember reading something on the various revisions of the Studio 15 series, using different parts, which are not all compatible between them, but I don't know if the cover is the cause of the problem, or have the bezel bad for this cover... or if these parts are, but the LCD is bad for both.  so the last however-many-years, I lived with the screen out of the Center.

To add more complications to the problem, I know that there are several other parts changed to a time or an other (see below for details), so cannot be sure that, if necessary, are original.  The only part I feel confident comes from my original CD is the lower cover that has the number of Service and other info stickers on.  It's all a big cover tho, so it could easily had been changed from one unit to another.  So with that taken into account, indeed, I know not what is original and what is not, or what part should I use to find the correct revision number and get the replacement parts for the cover right.

Any ideas where I could look to find the revision number of right for the parts that are on it now?  My best guess is that I should see exactly what LCD is in it and go from there.  I think that since it is the only part that I want to keep the cover Assembly, so I should try to match everything to her.  I'm pretty sure that any revision of the lid will be attached to the base without problem, but again, I don't know that for sure.  If no indication would be greatly appreciated.

    History

I had to sent to Dell warranty to correct the anomaly of the hinge that was common with these models of Studio, but when I got back, they put a bunch of parts wrong inside.  The glasses fit properly around the screen, the keyboard was not backlit, the hard drive has been the ability of bad, and they changed the rest-wrists/trackpad "marbled" design that was used on previous models.  I had to send it back to them 3 times, before they managed to return to me with especially good pieces in total.  It is in his possession or in transit to or from, for a total of about 3 months before I finally just gave up.

During this episode, they even called to say that my motherboard need replaced due to damage fluid and that the USB ports were broken, and that it would cost me ~ $350 to fix because it was due to an abuse of the user, so not covered by the warranty.  The laptop works perfectly when I sent it, other than the hinge, and I knew without doubt that fluid had never been spilled on it, and that the USB ports had never given me any problems.  I had to be very strict with them, that I wanted to just hinge replaced, and that if she didn't start and run when I came back, I was going to throw it in the trash, where it belonged and buy a new one, but another company.  As far as I know, these "problems" were never "fixed".  Needless to say, this is the last product of Dell, I bought.

But back to the point... Then, when they finally got it back to me with only the evil bezel (or lcd panel, or cover... whatever the cause of the problem), and the different style of the palmrest, I said "close enough" and admitted that if I wanted to use the computer, anytime soon, I have to settle with the best effort of incompetent repair staffs and it was her.  So that the how her since then, but at this point, Ive got a new laptop and I would now like to fix their screw-up if I can sell it without taking a hit to his condition.  And in case you were wondering, Yes, the same hinge is broken in the same way, once again, so I need to correct this defect in the design and get the screen/bezel adapted with a correct alignment.  Covers a bit scuffed, so I thought I would buy just a set cover so it is good condition for sale.

Thank you for taking the time to read and for all the advice

Okay, so I got parts, and all is right with the world again. Haha. I spent less than $ 20 on a brand-new couvercle lid with hinges, buttons power WLAN, antennas and a new scope.  I had to share my webcam and small green card that defines along the lower part of the cover.  Bezel fits my screen.  Actually ended up getting a cover of art 'Algae' instead of the plain of black or color... the covers of art were actually the cheapest option.  Parts from eBay.

So here's the rub:. It turns out that the revision number is not relevant.  The items are sorted by part number (P/N), and apparently they used slightly different parts from one year to the other, at least for some parts. Judging from my experience, I would say anyone who attempted to repair game p/n with the same series as you have currently ensure the good editing.

My 1537 takes a lid of the P600X series (original was P613X, black; replacement is P602X, algae).  Although it looks like any cover would fit, I noticed that the antenna leads on other series were in front of the yew, mine. They were grouped in the same pair, just ran into the lid on opposite sides. It seems that the antenna could possibly be traded around to match the original, but I can't say for sure. It is also possible that the son would still be able to be channelled through the computer and connected to network for both cards, but once again, it is purely speculation on my part.

The bezel seems to vary depending on what LCD is equipped.  Apparently, there was at least 2 variations, a CFL and LED, backlight as well as changes in the proportions (not sure if these changes are correlated with the backlight, or if these are yet another set of alternatives to consider, as I was not to replace the LCD screen).  From what I understand they have connectors that are different, based on the backlight.  I think mine uses the latest LED backlight, but still once, don't look too far in the screens, it is just the impression I got, and assumes that it is the original Panel, and that Dell did not change with other variants.

As the bezel, it seems to be the series a bit out there. The injector suitable for my laptop is M135C, although Dell had replaced the original by a M138C, which covers the bottom and left edges of the screen while exposing a black area of the outter screens on the top and side edges straight. The differences are very difficult to detect without having them both in hand to compare, choose different parties based on their appearance is not the way to go.

Therefore, in summary, I believe that the combination is for my 1537...

    COVER: P600X series

    : LED backlighting

    BEZEL: M135C

    -Joe

I tried to do something in the past - in my tests, I think that on a device of the 4.5 OS, I see not yet headset devices or Audio, when I used BluetoothSerialPort.getSerialPortInfo (), I believe the provided RIM API will filter these devices it does not connect to or think that you can connect to.  Since she expects the device to support the Serial Port profile, unless the device speaks actually this profile, I do not think that you will see.  That's good, if I understand correctly, that senior level profiles are all species of casting on

I would recommend that you look at JSR 82 and peripheral and discovery service to try to find these devices.  Now, there are samples on the Web that should help you with this.

I don't have the time just at this moment to do the testing for you, but if you have something specific that I can test quickly, let me know.  Also I would like to know if this is not clear.
