Device Manager goes from full to only show Acer-made a popping sound

Original title: Device Manager live upward

My computer has stopped playing DVDs and I tried to find a solution for this but not I messed up the Device Manager.  It keeps going from a complete list showing only Acer, up and down and making a sound dry sound.  What should I do about it?  I'm using Acer Aspire One with Windows XP.

Until I received your response, I uninstalled my connection manager and reinstalled it and who took care of the problems that I had.  I didn't use your advice, but I thank you for your information and will need to use some time in the future if I have other such problems.

My 8200 Dell under XP Professional SP3 shows not all devices in Device Manager.  I think that it started very recently when I was installing TM Internet Security after the removal of Norton Anti Virus 2009.  Eventually after using Norton Removal Tool. It doesn't show the devices safe.  Plug and Play is on.  I recently installed an old HP DeskJet 820Cse printer using existing drivers.  I do not think that article 953979 applies since it just (seem), took place but it seems to fit the description.  Any help is appreciated.

There is a Microsoft 953979 patch that works, but it didn't on mine, I then found this articale and followed the instructions and it worked.

  • How to fix a sound problem - reading devices no. for the Device Manager on WinXP SP3?

    (1) I can't to Device Manager by following the guide for help on my system.  The steps do not match what is actually showing me my Windows and I can not here the only way I can get to it is to use a link on the help page directly.  Even when I do that, the steps in the help guide still do not match what I see on MY screen.  Is this perhaps an update of this Guide to match my system?

    (2) I need Device Manager to find out what happened on my Audio device.  I have no sound from my speakers.  It happened all of a sudden when my wife was using the computer.  I don't know what she can do both.

Start/Settings/Control Panel / sounds and Audio Devices Properties shows "No. Audio Device", hence "Volume of the device" is gray.  Audio tab displays 'No peripheral to read '.

The fastest way to bring up the Device Manager is:
    Start-> Run-> "devmgmt.msc".
If it detects the sound equipment, but there is a problem with a driver, you will probably see a yellow "!" appears by your audio device.

If he was working and stopped, you can try to perform a "System Restore" to a point where it worked:

  • My usb port does not work. Device Manager says he has a "code 10".

My dad recently bought a laptop on ebay. It's a HP Omnibook 900 with a 4 GB HD. The previous owner had improved from the original from Windows 98 to XP with SP3.

It has a USB port in the back & it does not work!

In fact it is not even appear in the Device Manager! I need to select 'Show hidden devices' to see same the USB hub root. The USB port has a yellow warning icon. In properties, it indicates the port is enabled but does not work because of a "Code 10".

What the devil is a "code 10" & how in the heck to solve this problem, so that the USB works?

The port is powered. When I connect devices usb load they turn on & load, but, of course, are not displayed on the computer. My best theory is that the port can be usb 1.0 but the software is intended for usb 2.0 and what could be the cause of the problem. That's just guessing on my part because I do not know with certainty if the usb is 1.0 or 2.0.

It is especialy boring being the only external devices can I plug a CD player (unwritten) & a floppy drive. It would make my life much more pleasant if I could run software, backup & file transfer, etc. with a usb drive instead! It could even than the laptop quite useful to be worth the bucks thirties, my father paid for it!

    Help, please. Thank you.

    Hi SnarFoo,

    Method1

The Code 10 error code is generated when Device Manager it has not enough information or error that has spread upward through the device drivers is not recognised by the Device Manager. In addition, this error may occur if one of the pilots who needs the unit does not start. If multiple drivers are used by a particular device, it can be difficult to determine which failed.

See the article and check if that helps.

Description of errors related to the 10 Code that generates the Device Manager in Windows on computers

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104

    Method 2

If the previous step fails, then remove and reinstall all USB controllers on the computer and check if that helps.

To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:

    (a) click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.

    (b) click on the hardware tab.

    (c) click the Device Manager button.

    (d) expand Bus USB controllers.

    (e) right click on each device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.

    (f) restart the computer and reinstall the USB controllers.

    (g) connect the removable USB storage device and perform a test to ensure that the problem is solved.

  • Touchpad appearing didn't not in Device Manager

    Hello

I have a serious problem with my laptop. The DELL touchpad does not work. I tried to update the drivers etc, but when I went into Device Manager to see if she was showing with a yellow triangle, I noticed it was completely missing. I had a technician out recently and it has replaced my motherboard and cleaned the system due to over heating problems. But now it seems that recently the touchpad was not plugged in right. I have a few weeks to rest warranty, so wonder - is this a case for another technician out to correct the error that caused the other technician? Or am I missing something? Usually in my book, once that the device is not in the Device Manager, which means usually only its not in law.

Help quickly would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

After spending a lot of time, I managed to solve the problem. I have install windows 8 x 64 and run the drivers from the Dell site. Windows 8 x 32 is not the problem.

and if indeed, my dealer scam me, I just need confirmation before I chew the Parry of flipkart.com representative.

    Hello:

I don't know how experienced you are with regard to the search for W7 drivers for your laptop.

It is quite easy if you know where to look.

You must first install the amd chipset driver and restart. The first file listed.

    http://support.AMD.com/us/gpudownload/Windows/pages/raid_windows.aspx#2

Then, all the W7 x 64 drivers of this Associates model should also work on your.

If you have installed this driver and Device Manager reports

    AMD Radeon HD 7600M series

Card Dual AMD Radeon HD graphics 7600 + 7600 M

So it is what it is.  The video does not work correctly.

As you can see on the notes of the graphics driver, it's the right driver for the graphics card in your laptop.

  • No monitor showing in Device Manager

I have a Hannspree 28 "monitor with a hdmi connection to an Asus Radeon 4890 graphics card. This facility works great under Vista Ultimate 32 bit in the default resolution of 1920 x 1200 screens...

Since I installed Windows 7 64 bit, in a dual-boot scenario, I was unable to get Windows 7 works correctly in Normal mode, it works in safe mode, but only in 1600 x 1200.

If I try a boot in Normal mode, then the sequence of boot stalls however I can open Win 7 Normal mode if I remove the Radeon 4890 in the element display adapter in Device Manager. Win 7 install the re - install the 4890, but can't do the correct resolution.

With the latest ATI drivers installed in the card there is no monitor is displayed in Device Manager at all.

Hi Debra, Maryam and Aziz (and other stakeholders)

The problem is almost solved, I say almost because I don't like having unexplained things always happening on my computer! The solution was obtained by marketing the Narrator function and use of inputs keyboard known to explore what was going on behind the BSOD (BlackScreenOfDeath) so that I now have the monitor works in glorious mode of 1920 x 1200.

The solution actually came from my eldest son, when he asked if there was anything on the Toshiba TV (the other feed on the Radeon 4890). Yes, you have guessed the TV screen showed a perfect desktop but at a slightly lower resolution.

Using Clone installation I got office showing on the Hannspree in seconds and, after a bit of investigation, I found that Windows 7/Asus Radeon or some another gremlin has decided that the main screen was my TV and that the Hannspree Monitor 2? -I don't know how this can happen.

Suffice it to say that once I told Windows 7 that no. 2 was in fact my main monitor I could turn off the installation of clone and reset the Hannspree to its native 1920 x 1200 resolution, everything I want to do now is to say the 'system' that the Hannspree is main and monitor no. 1, but if I can't then I can live with n ° 2 - lol.

Thank you very much for your efforts and I hope that it can match someone elses knowledge of the vagaries of Windows 7.

    Best wishes

  • Satellite A100-1AI watch CD player but Device Manager shows the DVD player

I own a Satellite A100-1AI and went from Vista to Windows XP?

My DVD player has been discovered as a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N but is only showing as a CD drive in my computer screen.

Also Device Manager shows Mass Storage Controller and controller SM Bus as an unknown device (other).

Since the switch from Vista to XP I have not adjusted my BIOS settings

How can I make my DVD see CD and erase those unknown devices

    Thanks in advance

    Spon

    Just a question;
You can read and burn CDs?

    Regarding the unknown devices:
These devices are only compatible Vista and so there is no drivers for the mass storage controller.

    Check this box:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB83023N0000R01.htm

+ After the installation of Windows XP, there might be a yellow exclamation by a "PCI memory controller" or * mass storage controller * in Device Manager. +

    _Solution: _
+ This unit is probably the module of Robson former Turbo Memory. +
+ This hardware will only supported by Windows Vista. +
+ That is why there is no Windows XP drivers. +

  • X 201 problems Wireless: Intel wireless 802.11agn shows didn't not in Device Manager

    Hi all

Just got my new Thinkpad X 210 series laptop, and it was supposed to have WiFi Intel 6200 AGN and also WWAN ready, with Bluetooth link. However, when I open the Device Manager, I do not see this adapter under network adapters, because I see that the Bluetooth adapter. I can't connect to my wireless router, or he sees no wireless connections as I now use it on another computer.

Can someone please tell me if this feature should be "on", or what? When I'm trying to diagnose my internet connection problem, also, there is no option for the wireless connection. I don't see a symbol that lights up on my screen, or just below the screen that shows the bluetooth symbol, and if I move the switch located on the side left front, it will turn the bluetooth market. I can't believe this isn't the Wi - Fi connection card installed. Is there something I need to do to enable this, or at least let appear in Device Manager? I also disabled the bluetooth button, and goes out, she also does not appear in Device Manager. So before booing and yelling at someone who sold me this, I better know if there is a turn on the switch for this adapter wi - fi enable. Any help will be really appreciated, or I'll have to wait another day to call technical support on this issue.

Thank you very much and I look forward to reading to stay on top of things by reading the comments on this forum.

    Hello

Using a portable OEM version or office? They have total control over your system? You can only use it for the calculation of daily life.

If you can not enter the BIOS so no way to change the boot device priority.

    Better, you contact the OEM.

  • Renesas USB3.0 Host Controller disappears from the Device Manager

I recently installed a USB3.0 PCI-E card in my computer (Renesas uPD720200 USB3). The problem I have is that the host controller keeps endangered since the Device Manager, and then I can't use the USB ports. I use Windows 7 64-bit. It disappears usually when I stopped for an evening and then start up the next day and he disappeared. If I just have it reboot normally disappears, but sometimes remains. If I leave the computer and let it go to sleep, when I wake up, the host controller has disappeared. I tried some troubleshooting steps are based on research on google and the answers to this question: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/renesas-usb-30-driver-continuous-uninstalls-from/ac6b1137-1778-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5?auth=1&page=2

If I uninstall all controllers USB host and reboot, the host controller reappears, but only temporarily. The next time I start up it went again and I have to repeat the process (uninstall all host controllers and restart).
Once or twice I could make it reappear after running the utility of hardware troubleshooting (Panel-> Troubleshooting-> Hardware and Sound-> configure a device), but it is not reliable and I'm usually better off just uninstall all host controllers and reboot. Regardless of if it works, the store always gives me the message "hardware changes may not have been detected", and when I look at the details it says "configured to never install drivers from Windows Update. " There is no question."
I've updated the driver. I downloaded the Version 2.1.28.1 of the Intel Download Center (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/19880/eng/USB3.0_allOS_2.1.28.1_PV.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=19880). It seemed to install fine, but Device Manager shows the driver version is 2.1.28.0. Repeat the installation produces the same result.
I updated the Firmware (http://www.station-drivers.com/page/renesas.htm) and that seems to work very well, but didn't had no bearing on my problem.
I would be really grateful for any help or suggestion.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Since it seems to be so many things, I suggest the following steps (reboots insert a lot of restarting your PC... not only restarts, but at full power down). In addition, it is recommended that you are connected to the PC on an account with full administrator rights. In addition, Vista, use the option "Run As Administrator" for everything.

    (1) remove the package to update your device OS of your PC (Add/Remove Programs)

    (2) properly uninstall the RIM DTM software:

    • KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software

    (3) get a new RIM DTM software download:

    • Choose the version which is more recent and (if any) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
    • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

    (4) to download a new copy of your package to your carrier OS device (on your PC):

    (5) install DTM on your PC

Installation of 6) (also on your PC), device OS package

    (7) start whatever you were trying again.

If all goes well, who's going to make things again.

Good luck and let us know!
