DHCP on a WAP browser

All,

I just got a Cisco Aironet 1242AG. I have it configured, but it will be installed in a conference room. Therefore, it is necessary to have dynamically assigned addresses. Can I configure a DHCP pool on this access point. I found the documentation, but it's not really give me what I want. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thank you

Hi Mario,.

Maybe this can help you get started;

    I've been using an E3200 and it works very well. I know needing a wireless coverage in a remote area of my house and the current router won't get there. I also need wired to this place of the House as well. I thought about buying an e1200 to use as a WAP browser for the part of the House and also to have some ports Ethernet detaches it. Can I connect wirelessly to my original E3200 of the e1200 and then use the e1200 as a Navigator WAP and Ethernet? I tried to set up a bridge and who did not. Thanks for your help.

    You can assign the same SSID but must be configured on a different channel. No need to do any more. First, be sure to configure the wireless settings before configuring the router in Bridge mode.

  • Citing a WAP browser on OS 7 (via BrowserSessionFactory)

    Our code is based on article "Invoke the browser."

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/invoke-the-browser/Ta-p/445362

    On OS7 device BrowserSessionFactory cannot browser WAP - the reason for this is that the following code:

    if( myRecord.isValid() &&
        !myRecord.isDisabled() &&
        (myRecordHelper.getConfigType() ==
        ServiceRecordHelper.SERVICE_RECORD_CONFIG_TYPE_WAP2)
        && (myRecordHelper.getNavigationType() != -1))
    {
        uid = myRecord.getUid();
        break;
    }

    is not triggered because myRecordHelper.getNavigationType () returns-1.

    Here's the WAP2 folder properties in the maintenance book

    myRecord: WAP BrowserConfig[WAP BrowserConfig]
    myRecord.getUid: WAP BrowserConfig
    myRecord.isValid: true
    myRecord.isDisabled: false
    myRecord.getNavigationType: -1

    If we remove the "!" = - 1' check, the factory can detect and open the WAP browser

    Can someone rim please look into this and let us know what is the good
    way to open a WAP browser on device 7 OS?

  • Error installing WAP browser - myapp - 1.cod 404 not found

    Hi all Experts,

    I am new to the BalckBerry Development.I have developed an application and have tested on Blackberry phone and Simulator.

    While testing on phoneI used BlackBerry Desktop manager to install the application on the phone. Now, I want to download from a wap browser and install on the phone so that one can install it. But I am getting following error when installing from the wap browser.

    "myapp - 1.cod 404 not found".

    I put the rest of files on the server

    1 myapp.cod

    2 myapp.jad

    3 myapp.csl

    4 myapp.cso

    5 myapp.alx (I used this file for installation using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager)

    Do I need to put any other file for this?

    When I debug it I found that my jad file contains sh1 signature for files myapp - 1.cod, 2.cod - myapp myapp - 3.cod.

    But I couldn't find the files above.

    Should I generate these files?

    If the cod file is greater then 64 k is a zip file. I use winrar in context menu. If all defective changes the extension zip and try it then.

    in the zip files are the Sub-Sub-cod-files, such as the cod-1, 2-cod etc.

  • Media streaming in the browser

    The Blackberry Simulator can play media, such as m.youtube.com or blueapple.mobi streaming? I have several simulators on several computers, including the Bold 9650, but they all give me an error 'player' of some sort. I tried to go through the procedure "Optimize" to youtube as well as with no luck. Is this just a limitation of the Simulator?

    Thank you!

    This is a limitation of the BlackBerry smartphone Simulator.

    The browser (BlackBerry Internet Service) nor the browser BlackBerry (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) are able to stream a video RTSP (used by YouTube).  When this is attempted the BlackBerry Smartphone will switch to the Hotspot (WiFi) or a WAP browser, what to do, allowing the user to view the video.

    The BlackBerry smartphone Simulator only supports the BlackBerry browser.

    Hello I'm owner of BB BOLD 9900 OS 7.1... for the last two days I am facing a pretty annoying problem with the BB browser.

    It means not affects the device... it just annoys me.

    When I TURN ON my WiFi on my BB with the network carrier Sim already homepage active who has a Active on it and open the web browser BB, according to the website on which I open the web browser chooses between the internet Wi - fi OR internet BIS carrier which is weird. BECAUSE a default if the wifi is enabled, then the web browser MUST use internet wifi network carrier for navigation. YOU TUBE, FB and TWITTER.com all use my carrier netwrok to open bt soon I open BBC.com or CNN or any other site the wifi symbol appears on the right side and so it uses the wifi network... and disappears when I opened THE 3 SITES you tube FB n twitter.

    My knowledge is that when you activate THE wifi network, the WEB browser is intended to USE the wireless internet, NOT the internet carrier

    The next time I switchd off the the carrier signal, and then Turned ON one internet WI - FI and then opened the web browser of BB. so now all the opend website with wifi internet bt as soon as I open YOU TUBE or FB or TWITTER.com it post a comment... .that cannot visit the web page when the carrier is off. Please turn on the radio n try again... I mean IT SHOULD OPEN with internet wifi? WHY do network carrier sim to open the web page?

  • Tine Capsule loses the connection to iMac on El Capitan

    So I thought to myself - allows to change Windows XP for IMac OS - X and I liked the theory behind Time Capsule.  So in Dec 15 bought the new iMac with El-Capitan installed - very nice - steep to overcome - but very nice learning curve.  In January 2016, I bought the capsule and time the iMac continues to lose track of it and the backup fails.

    I read a lot of posts on this problem with earlier versions of Mac OS x, but none with El Capitan.  I tried many suggestions.  I'm willing to stick to this, but concluded that Apple have big network problems - is there any known firm resolution that I missed

    If I unplug power of TC and plug it again TC restarts and fix the link and he stays for a while, but when the iMac system sleeps it seems to lose track of the TC.  The TC continues to work as a hub WiFi in bridge in the whole mode, although the link of TC - Mac itself is ethernet.

    I have the network as [router ISP-> switch-> TC-> IMac].  I have a PC, NAS, hooked to the switch and the printer off the TC - all (other than the iMac/TC) connections continue to work all the time (even the printer connected through the CT.

    Suggestions for things to try would be useful, but nobody knows if Apple are working on it?

    is there a known strong resolution that I missed

    No, it's still coming every day in the posts here.

    Apple tries to do new things via DNS and she has so far trained more than problems solved... It has to do with the hand and swapping the standard network structure and network on equal terms with the iphone or ipad. At least as far as I know. Don't hold me to him as we all users here... and some of the information Apple provide are extremely sketchy.

    I tried many suggestions.

    It is difficult to make suggestions that we really have no idea what you tried... I'll post a link to my standard list below...

    BUT el capo has introduced different bugs... and I find it hard to reproduce... Note that I have not really had most of the questions are people here. I do not use the TC in bridge... but actually force it to take in charge the functions of dhcp for these devices that connect directly to it... and you have TO connect the Mac directly to the CT... He got buried... I'm usually carefully noted the location... but Apple said you need on the computer directly connected to the TC... If it is ethernet or wireless is not a problem... but if you are trying to connect to the switch or the main router, it is not a good idea.

    So, I would recommend that you try this method.

    Re: time capsule Airport Guard disconnection

    There are screenshots of it... and if all that is hard to follow if you please tell me where you are stuck.

    I found I can now exchange the main router with a degree of immunity, as I reconfigure the DHCP and IP LAN on it to match my setup of origin... it's not hard... but it may take some time to wrap your mind around it.

    In fact right now I use a secondary antibody Airport extreme as a WAP browser on the primary... again to help people having to abandon the questions... and I have so far after that many days are perfectly stable.

    If you can do it... change the domain in the main router at the local level

    Maybe it's nothing or it could be something else, such as lan. So in fact, all your names are the. But if the main router uses a field other than mess a few things... Apple seems also is recommended to use the TC as the main router as preferable to the bridge... They recommend same NAT double bridge... IMHO, my static IP method solves the problem, where you can not replace the main router, and the TC regularly loses on the network...

  • Feature E1200

    Hello!

    I have a question about the function of an E1200 compared to a WRT54G. We currently have the 54G plugged on our local network, the Ethernet cable plugged into one of the Ethernet ports, no not the Internet port on the back. It gives customers wireless IP addresses according to our main DHCP LAN as if they were wired which is correct. Bad thing is, I don't know what IP address is/has been assigned to the 54G himself that it was not connected when, well before my time. Thanks to this I can not connect to it and take a look at its parameters and try to imitate what happens out there on something like an E1200.

    Therin is my next questions. What could be produced on the 54G that allows it flat like a WAP browser and the E1200 does support WAP function? If this isn't the case, what models can be added to the 54G?

    If any help greatly appreciated!

    Hey Skagnatti,

    I don't know if it is even possible to addresses on your configuration of the class b E1200.

  • WRT54GS jumpered to WAP54G - can be done "wireless".

    I can find no confirmation that ALL Linksys products allow the fillers 'Wireless' a wireless router with a wireless access Point. The only solution I've seen involves 'wiring' a router to a WAP browser and then "wireless" bypass than another WAP WAP.

    I want a connection 'Wireless' between a router and a WAP browser. It's not that hard to is it?

    Currently I have my modem cable connected to my router WRT110 range wireless more (I could replace a WRT54GS the WRT110 if needed). What is installed on the floor and all my electronics IP based on the floor to connect to this router with cables. I have several computers downstairs who need access to the Internet as well as to communicate with the hardware on the floor. One of the computers is down already connected 'Wireless' to the WRT110. However, I extend my office on the ground floor and I want to group these computers together on a switch that is then connected to the WAP54G. The WAP54G cannot (without too much pain) be connected by cable to the WRT110 due to the design of my house.

    You would think that this scenario would not only common, but also simple to do.

    Anyone out there with a solution to this (other than to do everything down to communicate wirelessly)?

    Thanks amine.

    At least you tried to answer my question and give me a solution as possible. Fred, OTOH, is an arrogant geek and no help at all.

    I ended up solving the problem on my own. I used my existing WRT54GS wireless router and my WAP54G access point that is configured as a bridge.

    For those looking for the same solution as I type, I posted the details of how I arrived later in this post. ***

    It took a lot of trial and error. Mainly due to the fact that Linksys/Cisco online documentation and the documentation of 'aid' within the Web interface for the devices is erroneous and confusing (at least to anyone who does not work for Cisco).

    For example, any person (other than a network experienced pro) read the manual of the product, the web help screen interface on the device itself or the product description on the Web site for the WAP54G will be left asking exactly how to actually connect this device.

    I resorted to the use of Linksys ask which took a lot of research/reading just to get closer to the info that I needed. In fact, a description indicates that the WAP54G may ONLY be connected to the WRT54GS as either an Access Point (AP) or as a wireless Repeater (which would solve my problem). It does not you can connect to the WRT54GS in Bridge Mode or AP Client Mode. So, it's very misleading at first.

    In addition, when bring you up the web interface on the WAP54G and click on-screen in AP Mode, the note at the 'bottom' of the screen says that you can only connect to an another WAP54G in AP Client or in Bridge Mode. It excludes the WRT54GS device.

    However, if you click the HELP link on this page AP Mode, that the documentation says that you CAN Bridge to a WRT54GS device.

    So you can see how difficult it was getting just enough information to determine that it would be possible to fill the two devices together and solve my problem. That's why I have a bone to pick with Linksys and, apparently, no-Help Freddie.

    Here's the scenario and solution for those of you following this post who want to do what I did:

    SCENARIO:

    Connect the network segment 'A' to 'B' network segment using a wireless connection (essentially means that you need a wireless bridge).

    Network segment 'A' consists of the cable Modem connected to a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router. This router provides switching and Internet connectivity for all connected it devices whether they are with or without wire connections. In my case, I have a NAS device and a laptop connected via a CAT5 cable, and I have a TIVO box connected via the wireless connection.

    Network segment 'B' consists of a group of computers in the lower corner of my house. It is not easily possible to run a CAT5 cable out there so a wireless connection is necessary. In addition, devices to connect have no wireless cards and I don't want to spend the money to add. My approach was to wire all of these devices to a switch and then connect this switch for the WAP54G. The WAP54G then it must connect to the WRT54GS connect wireless 'haul back' (since I couldn't do cable together using CAT5.

    SOLUTION:

    Start first with the WRT54GS device:

    (1) follow the procedure of Linksys to connect your PC to the WRT54GS router so that you can access to the routers configuration utility web interface.

    (2) using the web to access the WRT54GS interface, configure the WRT54GS with the INTERNET side of the router to auto configure itself (DHCP) in the Modem/Internet cable box.

    (3) on the side of the router LAN, configure it to 192.168.1.1 IP address and set it as the DHCP server for the local network. Assign the address of 192.168.1.100 rental range 149.

    (4) you should now have Internet access.

    (5) download and install the latest version of the firmware from the site Web of Linksys (version 4.71.4 in this case).

    6) write down the "wireless MAC address" of the WRT54GS. This information is shown on the STATUS and then the screens tabs wireless web interface. You will need when you configure the WAP54G.

    5) click on the WIRELESS tab and set the SSID to something that will be common to all your connected wireless network devices. I set mine to MIXED mode and use the CHANNEL 6. I also enabled SSID broadcast (at least initially).

    6) click the fixed wireless SECURITY tab MODE for WPA-PERSONAL and serve the TKIP algorithm. Enter a character from 8 to 63 KEYS in the field. The docs say nothing about the case of the letters (LC or UC) but I found that it is important. Also, I tried to use WPA-PERSONAL2 and AES, but it wouldn't work. So use the one I mentioned to start.

    (7) to change the password for the router in 'admin' (which is the default) to something else.

    (8) save all of these changes.

    (9) the backup configuration of the WRT54GS on hard drive of the local computer.

    Now, configure the WAP54G device:

    (1) connect a CAT5 cable between the WRT54GS LAN port to the Ethernet on the WAP54G port.

    (2) use the PC connected to the WRT54GS make the configuration of the WAP54G.

    (3) connect to the WAP54G using IP 192.168.1.245, which is the default address assigned to the plant.

    (4) on the SETUP / NETWORK SETUP screen, change the IP address to 192.168.1.2 STATIC address (in any case, it must be different from the IP address on the WRT54G or there is a conflict).

    (5) download and install the latest version of the firmware from the site Web of Linksys (version 3.04 in this case).

    6) click on SETUP, then AP MODE tab change the AP to WIRELESS BRIDGE MODE and enter the "wireless MAC address" of the WRT54GS that you noted in step 6 above in one of the fields in the section of BRIDGE wireless of this screen.

    7) click on the WIRELESS tab and configure the BASIC WIRELESS settings to the same as those used for the WRT54GS (named Mode, SSID and channel).

    8) click the wireless SECURITY tab and configure the WPA-PERSONAL, TKIP and password to be the same ones you used on the WRT54GS device.

    (9) change the default password of "admin" on the WAP54G and the BACKUP configuration.

    (10) now both devices can connect wirelessly.

    (11) disconnect the WAP54GS CAT5 cable. The WAP54G and the WRT54GS should now be able to communicate "wireless".

    (12) connect a switch on the Ethernet on the WAP54G port.

    (13) connect your PC, etc. to the switch. Wireless devices will also be able to connect to the device either WAP54G or the WRT54GS device that gives the signal stronger.

    (14) a set of the PC, network etc configurations use DHCP to obtain their IP, subnet, gateway and DNS automatically (mainly the WRT54GS).

    (15) you should now be able to connect from a PC on the side WAP54G of PC and Internet network via the WRT54GS device. The WAP54G will be connected to the WRT54GS 'Wireless '.

  • Apple TV (9.2.1) removes the internet connection when you try to use Siri

    Greetings,

    I think I saw network related issues with my Apple TV. Everything works fine most of the time. But sometimes, including, but not limited to, when I try to use Siri, Apple TV almost always drops the wireless internet connection. I've included a picture below of exactly what it looks like. I scoured both online that I can but it doesn't look like anyone has the same problems.

    I called Apple support and they suggested that I connect to another source of wifi. I used my hotspot on my iPhone and the Apple TV has worked well without any hitch in the connection. This leads me to believe it's firewall partner.

    However, I have disabled literally of each firewall setting I found in my router and still cannot find a solution. I also use a WAP browser in addition to router which is what my Apple TV is connected to. My WAP is an enterprise-level device, but I'm having issues access to the features of the admin of it network. Before I go and reset my WAP I wanted to get additional advice from people with experience in networking and firewall, especially with services like Siri.

    Thanks in advance. Pics and info of additional device below.

    Hello

    I have this problem for several months. I connect my laptop with the D - link DIR-615 as a WAP browser.

    I can't remember, but the fact is that I can't connect more with channel 1 of my WAP.
    Connection with the other channels is no problem.

    All know what to watch?

    Where have you changed channels settings: within the router or the wireless network adapter?
    Is that it s any laptop you are using. It s always a matter of the WLan card that is integrated.

    Usually, you can change the Wlan card settings in the properties.
    Go to Device Manager-> Wlan card-> right click Properties-> Advanced tab
    Here, you would be able to change the available settings.

  • Buffalo WII-1750DHP

    Hello everyone.  What someone with the Buffalo-WII-1750DHP router?  I bought it because my old 1 TB TimeCapsule wifi radio is dying.  I thought that I would pass a router to AC that would allow me to hang a big drive at the back for backups Time Machine at a reasonable price.  This router seemed well side and has all the features I was looking for.

    However, it seems Back to My Mac doesn't work now.  I checked the uPnp settings and they are enabled, as verified by the router log.  But I am unable to connect to one of my machines, when I'm outside the network.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I'm waiting on support Buffalo to get back to me.  In the meantime, I was thinking about leaving old TimeCapsule the router principal and just do the WII 1750DHP a WAP browser.  I don't know if the USB 3.0 on the back remains accessible and whether or not it would work as a destination of TimeMachine in this way.  The other issue that I can run is whether or not I can format the drive of the USB 3.0 with HFS.  I will lead my own test using a smaller USB drive (I have a 6 TB drive).

    I thank all help with that.

    ... to the top for a router in AC that would allow me to hang a big drive off of the back for Time Machine backups ...

    Then you will need a Time Capsule from Apple AirPort or AirPort Extreme current production. Both are in line 802.11ac. No other devices attached to the network storage will be reliable, no matter what that will tell you the manufacturer.

    I was thinking about leaving old TimeCapsule the router principal and just do the WII 1750DHP a WAP browser.

    You can use any router and add the TC as a customer on its Ethernet network, so it's not any concern with radio Wi - Fi from your existing Time Capsule. In this way, you can continue to use the hard disk drive of the existing TC as a backup destination Time Machine, or any player to USB hard drive connected to it. You will not require its Wi - Fi to operate and can (and must) turned off to avoid contributing to wireless interference. What you will not be able to do is to connect a hard drive to a non-Apple router and expect it to work with Time Machine.
