Director of office of blackBerry Smartphones and Curve 8330

I just installed Desktop Manager 5.0 for my curve. The installation went well, and after it backs up, the curve works correctly. I wonder, however, if the Desktop Manager saved e-mails, MMS and SMS messages in a file on my desktop that could be retrieved and read later if necessary. I heard this answered both ways so far: Yes it did, and no, it's not. No one knows what is the real answer?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Well, two answers could be correct according to what you were doing. If you performed the backup, and then he did. If you have not run the backup, then it does not. If you performed the backup, then a file with an extension of the RPI could be saved to your PC - search your entire hard drive for *.ipd and see what you find. To make a backup, follow these instructions:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new Curve 8330 and charge the battery/question already?

    Hi all

I just got a new Curve 8330 last week.  I noticed that it takes ages to completely charge the phone when the battery only about 40%.  The other day it took about 5 hours to get to 100%, I use the power supply provided and also tried the USB cable with the software already installed.

Tonight, it's about 60 percent, and I decided to load it.  After 3 hours or more, he went up to 45, then 40% and I was not still use it.  Battery icon is there (the icon of the card) then he recognizes it is connected.  I did the battery pull and wait another hour, another 40%.  Then another battery pull and still 40% after an hour.

I came on this forum and saw the mention of the app QuickPull.  Downloaded it, ran it, and after it restarted, it had fallen to 5%!  Now, it says "low battery" and I do not really understand why.

Until I started typing this post, I made an another battery pull and abandoned the USB plug.  It is now back up to 15%.  I am really hesitant to reach a store because the last time I brought my LG phone on a known battery problem (getting bulgy where you can spin) and they winded in my entire phone replacement

Please let me know what I'd do here.  Is this a battery problem, phone licensing, etc.?  What my expectations are on acquire it quickly back to 100%?  I do not drain the battery that much.  It took two days so he can go down to 60%, but I do not understand why it takes so long to load and then it seems to perform when I plug.

Thanks for your time.  I know this is a long post.  My battery is now 20%?  So he went from 5 to 20% in less than half an hour so confused.

If you had access to another battery and/or charger, I suggest that you try to change one and if it does not, another permutation. You will have to perhaps just take the phone back, but if I were you, I would make them give me a new battery and charger, just to be safe, because it looks like one or the other may be bad.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Curve 8330, keep or find another phone?

When I bought my first BB Curve 8330, it was a few days after when I was told that I had to send it back and get a new one because of defects.  I came to know and love my 8330 until the trackball stopped working a few days back.  Now, it is the second BB Curve 8330 after only 1 1/2 months.  After Service of Sprint working on the trackball, they said I was approved for a new replacement phone, or keep my current phone and see what happens with the trackball?  Of course, I decided to trade once more my current phone for a new because obviously something is wrong with my current phone or they wouldn't swap a new.

Question; What is the standard?  This is common with the BlackBerry Curve 8330 or total BlackBerry?  Should I start thinking about making another smart phone instead of an another BlackBerry Curve 8330?  My phone works very well with my work email and the telephone directory.  Any suggestions or advice from the pros out there?  I was told to come back tomorrow August 07 after 15:00 to pick up a new because they are "back ordered and in stock?"  Is there a known flaw on the BB Curve 8330, I don't know.  I'd appreciate your comments and advice...

    Pchmike,

IMHO, I think that you should definitely keep your phone. While your experience with a bad phone is not the standard, any new device requires patience until the settings are completed, and learn you all the functions of the phone. Your experience with a stuck ring is an example of normal 'glitches that may occur when you start to exercise any kind of device.

Stick to these forums and it will help reduce your frustrations. I learned so much and so fast, it is the best basis of knowledge I've seen. The people on this site will go further to help, especially because we've been there.

I suggest you go through BlackBerry 101 and 101 Crackberry to help your learn faster. Here are the links:

    Welcme to Frums!

I found this on another forum. I quote from it.

"The camera Help file says. In the device, if the viewfinder does not occupy the full screen, the approximate number of pictures that you can save appears in the lower left corner of the screen

Its how many photos you can take. The card just shows 200 + until it becomes weak and it may contain only less than 200.

BB 8300 can hold about 30. You can test they buy going to your cameras settings and change the photos of store definition from on multimedia card in the device memory. "

  • BlackBerry smartphones loss Curve 8330 to appts during the synchronization of calendar Outlook via Desktop Manager 4.5

Whenever I sync my calendar here are some nominations (and/or changes of the appt) on my BB that do not move to Outlook and Outlook that do not move in my BB calendar.  It doesn't seem to be a model for those who don't synchronize.

    I use:

    Outlook 2002 SP3

    Desktop Manager 4.5

    BB Curve 8330

    MS Windows Prof 5.1 SP

    I tried:

    -disable filters

-Rotation of the filters (to limit the number of items that are above)

-Closing on the calendar (to remove items older than 30 days)

    -re-sync-ing

    -Re-install Desktop Manager

All other synchronizations (tasks, notes, address book) seem to work well.

    Any ideas?

    I'm turning crazy connection.

The BB asks me if I want to turn Mode mass storage and I clicked 'YES '.

BB Device Manager tells me that "" USB - PIN: xxxx is connected ".

YET in the Desktop Manager software on the upper left corner, it says 'Disconnect' and on the lower left corner, it says: "Device Connected (PIN): No.

Does anyone know why the BB device manager says the BB is connected by software office says the opposite?

  • Director of office of blackBerry Smartphones do not find usb connection

I have Blackberry 7100i that I'm unable to have the Desktop Manager detect. I'm under Blackberry 4.6 on Windows Vista Edition full version. I did the installation and removal of the battery of the phone and in the device manager that the USB is recognized Blackberry device. I'm really disappointed there is not a clear answer for what seems to be the common problem. I've tried versions 4.3.4.5. and now 4.6 all with the same problem. In connections, I'm clicking on USB option and in these versions, there is not a detection option. Someone has a simple answer? Office Manager says I am disconnected. Phone readsV4.1.0136. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Bravo... Decided to uninstall and re - install it using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox... Firefox had the problem

    everything works fine.

  • Director of office of blackBerry Smartphones does not download the firmware of my last carrier

    Hi all

I have a Bold 9000 on o2 (UK) network running on 4.6.0.303.  I noticed on the download page dedicated to my carrier on blackberry.com v5.0 is finally available for the 9000 "BOLD".  I then downloaded and installed, but the Desktop Manager fails to recognize and offer only 4.6 for my "BOLD".  Even when I try the software update in the Desktop Manager it tells me that my device is up-to-date.  I never "doctored" files or original firmware and used only never before Desktop Manager to install updates of the firmware.

I waited for centuries for my network offer the new firmware so it's frustrating that now, it appeared, I can actually do something with it.  Any help / advice greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Duncan in London

Duncan, Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

You have already found form your carrier, downloaded and installed the operating system on your PC?

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Director of office of blackBerry Smartphones a stipped work

Now, BB DTM crashes when syncing with outlook calendar.

    BB Bold

    Vista, DTM v5.0

    Outlook

All works well, will load and start the synchronization as usual, but once he starts to 'calendar of device precession' it crashes instantly and provides no advice or solutions.

You run diagnostics on outlook tests, have repaired DTM, no joy...

If you encounter errors in your calendar on your BlackBerry, follow the instructions below. Make sure that you have a good copy of your calendar or Contacts, because this procedure will delete all entries in calendar on your BlackBerry.

    1. open the Desktop Manager on your PC.

    2. open Backup/Restore > advanced.

    3. in Advanced Options, you will see a split pane screen. The left pane, it is what will be saved from your device, and the right is a list of the existing databases.

    3. highlight on the side right your Calendar database, and then click the arrow in the Middle pointing to the left. This will copy the information on and prepare it for the backup.

    4. once the backup is complete, click on the Clear button down to wipe and clean all the basis of the calendar.

    5. once it is finished, it will ask if you want to save the backup that you created, say you Yes and check the device to ensure that the calendar has been duly authorized to come out. Now, Resync the necessary contact details and you should be set to go.

  • Director of office of blackBerry Smartphones has always updated

First off I use the most recent operating system (OS 5.0.0.32 8).

Whenever I'm plugging my storm into my computer and bring up to Desktop Manager he always tells me that "BlackBerry 5.0 Core Applications" has an update. I'm trying to "update" but still, it stops at halfway and says that the device has enough memory, even if it has 20 MB of memory available. I can't update other applications that I have because it tries to update the Applications of first base, then said he ran out of memory, always restarts and I'm back to square one.

Is it possible to let him stop trying to update?

    If you have two choices:

    1. click on Cancel. (I did it for three months, when a BONE kept demanding that I load on my device Dutch)

2 make room on your space memory device for what anyone, he wants to upgrade.

It could be, if you have loaded BBMessenger v5 to the device, which sees the OS that you still haven't BBM (4.7) load and want to only load.

    I just click Cancel.

  • Director of office of blackBerry Smartphones will not erase the Apps

When I use Desktop Manager to remove an app on my curve by unchecking the app, the check mark back just a second or two later.  Is there anything else I should do?  Thank you.

    Weird...

You could remove the application right on the BB itself. Untethered, follow these steps:

    • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications > highlight, but do not select the app > BBKey > delete

    See if that does it.

  • Synchronization of calendar blackBerry Smartphones BB Curve 8330 camera

The calendar entries made directly to the device does not synchronize with the office.  Address perfectly synchronizes book.  Very frustrating and ideas?

If you use the Desktop Manager that you will need to load up, will synchronize, configuration, configure synch... and go through the configuration.  Inside, there will be options for one or two way sync.

How do I delete e-mail messages and text file - I can only delete message by message, which is a bit tedious and now get plenty of inboxes!

    Hey JulieDi,

Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

An option is to use the option remove first, highlight a date in your Messages folder, press the menu key and choose Delete before, this removes whatever it is before the date you have selected.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Curve 8330 locked up

Wahoo, after all, to remove the battery to destroy my whole phone and reload the operating system, I finally got fixed thanks to a very helpful post. I disassembled my phone and carefully lifted the membrane of white keyboard up to the last row of buttons. I cleaned the copper on the motherboard and the membrane discs very carefully with rubbing alcohol. Let it dry and then reassembled. Two of the disks had residue on them. The only thing I can think is that it was causing a hold button. It works like new now. YYYAYYYYYYYY!
